Message from Marcus Delivered to Fai returned to Marcus
FAI SUNG
The air was warm and filled with fog. The salty air reminded Fai of Hong Kong. He loved the humidity because it heightened his senses to his surroundings. Unlike others who were dulled by such heavy air Fai used to feel out movement all around. Nevertheless, he was not here for a fight, and when he felt the presence of not one but two others join him he immediately bowed in respect.
"My lord, Have I or my counterpart ever let the order of Qī down? If you,or our fallen lord have said do this for the cause have we not complied? What has taken place that would cause you to believe this has changed?"
MARCUS JAMES LINTHUX
Marcus grinned, "You were not at Shadow Lounge Fai! I had to use that Fixer to encourage the werewolf. I am disappointed. McBurr is chatting with Ministry Aurors instead of cuffs, you are missing and our leader Lord Marsden is Dead."
Waving one of his guards forward, "Prove you are still Seven! This girl's brother stole a note meant for McBurr! I want the boy and McBurr!"
Marcus grabbed the girl's chin, "Your brother was not smart letting my men see him or you! Where is he? Where is McBurr?"
He smiled as he pushed her towards Fai, "Fai, try not to damage the girl too much until we get her twin, Kids now days No respect!"
FAI SUNG
I can and will bring you both as you desire, but I emplore you to see a plan set in motion. Mcburr has been given the position of head aurar. His loyalty remains to the Qi as does mine. But consider this my Lord, we have a man in charge of the very Ministry's enforcement of law. I was simply on standby to insure this transfer of power went off without a hitch. And the boy knows nothing of the letter I hold here in my hand." He raised it up. "Soon that boy will be a powerful force for the Qi."
Fai glanced at the shaking girl. "Ah, I have been waiting for this one to follow her brother into my lair. I will train both to follow the Qi." Fai bowed "If you permit my lord. Or I can kill them all and lose a powerful standing in the ministry and two potentially powerful youth. Which do you feel would better serve the Qi, lord Marcus?"
Fai hoped he had convinced the new head of the seven and had little recourse if he failed. War with the seven, even with his powerful hidden city would prove devastating. Marcus would be an even more powerful foe to topple than Dempsey. But Dempsey he could take out without the man even knowing it was coming. However, it would tear at his heart to do it. He did not know if he had it in him to take the boys life however, he had never built such a tie with the girl and could pass it off as duty, or could he?
"If you want to know why we did not receive your summons, please understand the delicate nature of insuring that Dempsey took power as extremely precarious. To accept a message while under the scrutiny of Seth's men would have been certain death."
EMILY FRIEDMANN
What had happened? Where was she? Who where these men? She was terrified. She hadn't even seen him grab her and now here she stood on a shore someplace warm with a heavy fog everywhere. She tried to be strong even as the asian man offered to take her life. Where was Ellery? How did he know these men? So many questions, so few answers. Was she going to die? What about the coin? Could her friends rescue her? she allowed her finger to gently brush it then quickly could have kicked herself. They would know. They would know what she had just done and now she was surly going to die. Tears filled her eyes. No. like rabid dogs these men could smell fear. She had to suck it up.
FAI SUNG
Fai glanced into the eyes of the trembling girl. She could not remember any of this. Truly he would enjoy training her as much as he delighted in molding her brother. However, she lacked in areas that Ellery did not. That would be easily remedied if he could get her to follow in the path of his beloved Wei. But Wei would teach her ways that would not support the Seven. No, he had to begin her training and mold her mind before allowing Wei to perfect her capibilities. Yes Wei could physically transform this youth into just as powerful a foe as her brother.
He glanced into her trembling eyes and wondered just how far she had followed her brother. Not out of the St Mungos of that he was certain. If it were Ellery standing there the boy would not be shaking in fear, no he would be ready to fight at the snap of Fai's fingers. She never made it out of the hospital and he would take her memory back to that point. She would be out for several minutes and he would keep her that way until either death or departure. Marcus did say not to hurt her but he also said to do with her as Fai wished
MARCUS JAMES LINTHUX
Marcus listened to Daniel Marsden’s personal assassin. “McBurr being Head of the Aurors would be a major cou. If McBurr is still Loyal, that is?” Unlike Daniel, Marcus never fully trusted McBurr.
When he saw the note, Marcus smile widen, “So the boy is here? He brought the note to you Fai. Why?” The guard who had informed him of the boy’s actions was trying to sneak away.
“You did not inform me of the boy’s connection to Fai, Curtis? Why is that? I would not have had you grab the girl if you had. Now you are trying to leave. Curtis, Who has your loyalty now?”
“My Lord I was....”, Curtis tried to explain. He stared at Fai and took off.
Marcus smiled as he asked, “Why these two? What is their importance?” He glanced at the girl and wondered what she was messing with.
Lord Linthux smiled as he said glancing at the girl, “Kids have loose lips. I don’t want our chat getting out. Put her somewhere then we can chat. Oh and Fai, I still want that chat with McBurr! Insure it!”
FAI SUNG
Fai glanced at the terrified man try and run. "He's already dead, lord Marcus."
They didn't need her for information so it was lights out sweetheart. Fai summoned the spell and thumped the terrified girl on her forehead the same as he had her brother only slightly harder. She fell helpless to the sand and Fai dusted off his hands as if he had gotten them dirty. "She will not remember this. I can return her to reality just in time to make her believe it was all her fault. Then I can train both twins.
He withdrew a set of bolo's that had been enchanted by non other than Dempsey and hurled them at the fleeing man's feet tangling him up and dropping him to the sand. Like an invisible rope Fai yanked back with easy bringing the man to just beneath him and dropped landing his knee on his throat with such brutal force that he feared the loud snaps might wake the slumbering girl. Either way Marcus wanted to see Fai's efficiency in action."No magic waisted no magic lost. Clean and discreet."
Fai dusted his hands again. "I will bring Mcburr as soon as possible. I think since his child was most likely born today that getting him away from Brook will be much simpler than if that was not the case. They want to trust Dempsey, they believe in him but I know him and I know what he believes in. That is why Danial trusted Mcburr. Not just because he earned his loyalty but because he earned his faith. Mcburr believes that what the Seven stand for is right and as long as he retains this belief he will do whatever he can to see our mission is realized. Especially since, now he has a child.
"Considering children the boy and girl, I haven't met too many with my unique abilities. The boy is strong with this but the girl need some training. She has it just lacks the discipline. I've never met any others with my strengths."
MARCUS JAMES LINTHUX
Marcus watched the man that many in the Seven feared. It took only seconds for Fai to deal with Curtis. Smiling Marcus clapped, "As deadly as I remember Fai! I don't trust McBurr as Lord Marsden did. Also from the meeting I had at the lounge, Fai it seems I have learned that none other than Seth Wright is Minister of Magic! They are doing round ups of most of Seven people."
He looked at the sleeping girl and remembered another problem. "You can handle this error? I will for now trust your judgment Fai. We have much to do as somebody got close to Lord Marsden. Also that Translator....the one McBurr recommended? Find him! It is time to remind people just who They should fear!"
Marsden looked at Fai, "Fai, I want answers and I want somebody close enough to grab a certain prize that I am sure will bring the Translator to us. Find a way. Then bring McBurr and your choice to me!"
FAI SUNG
"I share your wary opinion of anyone working for the so called wizard justice, or muggle for that that matter. That is why I remained close but unseen to Mcburr. I was ready to eliminate him at the slightest slip of the mouth, or truth serum. Needless to say his life was forfeit at the slightest sign of betrayal willing or not. I was Impressed however, at his courage both ready and willing to end his own life to insure what he knows will not leave his lips. I laced a bottle of special whisky well within his knowledge so that he need drink no more than a single glass to permanently turn off his lights. He sat with Brook fully ready to down it too. I'm sure it helped to know that his wife and child were openly accessible within my grasp."
Fai stated without guilt of falsehood because Dempsey was ready to end his only life for that of his family. However, it had nothing to do with his fear of Fai, but of the Ministry the Seven and far worse. But Fai didn't need to mention that to Marcus.
"I will do as you have asked, Lord Marcus. Dempsey I can bring within twenty-four hours but obtaining the others will take some investigation into their location, preparations as to the proper bait and of course covering my tracks. As far as time is concerned, it will take longer than twenty-four hours." Fai glanced at Emily and grinned. He knelt beside her then glanced back up at Marcus. "I'm beginning to think miss Emily wasn't such an error." He lifted the girl into his arms. "I better get her back to my kitchen before she wakes or the next time I thump her skull, in such a short amount of time, will cause her to go brain dead. That would be like throwing our bait to the wolves and an opportunity missed."
MARCUS JAMES LINTHUX
Marcus was pleased until he saw a small image not far from where they were. "Fai, another visitor? I am wondering if I pick the wrong island. Something small behind that tree. I will be at my house. Oh and Fai, you are now my Enforcer. Don't fail me!"
Marsden started to walk away. He would wait on seeing if McBurr was as loyal as it seemed Fai was. Smiling he signaled two guards over to him.
"Yes Lord Linthux" they said as they bowed. Marcus snapped both of their necks. "Failure I will not Allow!" The guards were friends of Curtis and so suffered the same fate, Death.
FAI SUNG
He watched as Marucs departed. The inept men who worked with Curtis were easily dispatched by the powerful new leader of the Seven, but the shadow near the tree was another problem. Who was it? Just then a coin fell to the from Emily's hand and Fai reached down to retrieve it. As soon as he placed his hands on it the enchantment betrayed itself to him. ah he grinned. The bait was far easier than he imagined. Fai was loyal to Marcus and the Seven for reasons far different than Dempsey. Fai didn't believe in the mission of the Seven as he knew Mcburr did. But Fai was tied to them in manners that he could not sever. He also owed his life to the Seven as he recalled the way that they rescued him from that trap set by the muggle Police. He still owed them, but he owed it to his heart to keep Shangri La out of the turmoil. Even though the prize had found her way so easily into the trap now was not the time to spring it. In fact Marcus had not said to harm the girl after all. No. If she so easily found her way there once then she could find her way there again, and now he knew exactly how to entice her to return. For now he had to get Emily back to his kitchen before she awoke so that he could forge a different memory within her mind of what had transpired. However, why should he especially if this Tia girl had witnessed part of what had occurred? The truth, in this case, bent to Fai's way of doing things might just be the potion of success.
"Stay if you wish, I return to reality." He spoke loud enough for the other to hear, and he initiated the magical transport back to his kitchen. If she remained on the Island it would be to her own folly. If she summoned a horde of others to the location they would be lost in a trap that would prove catastrophic to them. This Island only existed between plains and not among them. A location that Seven member's and Seven members alone controlled. If she chose to return, then never in a million years would she be able to explain where she went to another soul, without the coin Emily had used to direct her path of course. It was a win win situation. Tia would seek him out just as he had wished. Just as he wanted Emily to do and now had the opportunity to insure that would become a constant.
As Fai entered his kitchen Emily stirred in his arms. Ellery and Dempsey were already there with questions written on their faces. Fai Laid the girl down on a mat.
He turned to Ellery wondering if his memory wipe had failed. Ellery just ran to his sister while Dempsey placed his hand on Fai's shoulder.
TIA ANDREAS
Tia was unsure of just where she was. "Emily, what did you get into?" She hid behind a tree when she saw a man that looked vaguely familiar. Deep down she was scared and unsure. She had gotten Emily's signal and started worrying. Tia was second guessing herself, "I should have at least told Bren or Lance." The fifth year tried to read these men and shook her head as she whispered, "No Emily don't use her coin. If I had waited she...."
Tia looked towards the two laying on the ground, "Please Emily be only knocked out." She could not call the rest in yet.
Tia almost ran as she saw the man leaving snap two men's neck. She had to get Emily away from the other man and then they needed to get to her godfather.
As Tia pulled her special wand and headed for Emily, Tia heard the man speak to her. He was going to trap her here and take Emily. She waited then went into the area where her friend and the strange man disappeared.
