Getting the feeling I am Being Watched (St. Francis Orphanage)
(OOC: Combined threads from the previous site)
Tocanema Tia Spellman
Tia had mixed emotions going back to St. Francis for Christmas. On one hand she was glad that she would be seeing Seth and Mrs. Wright again. On the other she hated the fact that she still had not heard from them. Even Jayce had sent letters to them and still no reply back. The only thing Tia could think was that either Mrs. Wright was mad that Tia found out or that somebody didn't want those letters answered.
'Who could want me to be kept in the dark about my past?' , Tia thought. She realized somebody didn't want her in Canada with Jayce and Miranda for Christmas either. 'The letter that we wrote just about me spending X-mas in Canada was also never answered. I have to assumed that they never got them. That why I had to come back to St. Francis. If I went to Jayce's without Seth knowledge, he would come looking.' ,Tia remembering her overprotective friend.
With everything that had happened at the school, she really needed to talk to Seth. She knew the Wrights meant well but now she was being terrorized at school. It was time for the truth about her past to be told. Seth had to know who had killed Marcus because he said that 'he' took the picture and knife not 'somebody'. They both had to know who had done it or Seth would have said a name. 'I need that name,Seth. This time you have to tell me because he is not stopping with Marcus.' ,Tia thought knowing if Seth kept his secret she would never know who was having her terrorized or why.
The latest was a picture of her and Faith in Hogsmeade. She had found it in her suitcase right before she boarded the train. On the back was a note: 'We'll be meeting soon. If you value your friends, Don't Bring Company! Remember I'll know. And Andreas' don't let Others take their falls.' Tia had been jumpy ever since. The man who ever he was had at least one person maybe more watching her. That watcher could get presents or messages to her anywhere.
She knew Jayce was worried about how easy this watcher could get to her. Jayce had started having her friends keeping an eye on her.
Tia was more terrorified then she had admitted to her friends. She was sure that the watcher was a student and was most likily on board. She just wondered what would happen when who ever sent the watcher decided it was time to meet. Would playtime be over or just beginning?
Veronica Blakelee
Veronica was bundled up tightly, even on the platform. Her sharp eyes were roaming through the field of students, looking for one in particular. She had specifically told her brother in the castle that she would meet back up with him on the other end of the trip. Ronnie wanted to be alone for this, well as alone as one could get in the mass of students departing for Christmas Holidays.
Finally, she caught sight of a smaller girl with dirty-blond hair and smiled. As she was slipping into the role she needed for at home, the smile was slightly cruel and malicious, even though the intent was innocent. She thumbed the book in her pocket absently, before cutting her way through the crowd. The feeling of smooth leather calmed her nerves, as the memories of the long hours of study that went in to that little book came back. As a contrast to the smooth cover of the leather bound book, her wand quivered against her hand in the other pocket.
"Hey there, little snake. You're looking a little jumpy today."
The words were said with a slightly mean edge, the kind that Tia would be used to hearing from her. Her hand stayed in her pocket for a moment later, before her carefully maintained fingers wrapped lightly around Tia's upper arm. Her smile was as thin as ice as the quivering of her wand increased. Much more, and someone would notice that her pocket was vibrating. Someone would wonder why her wand would act like this, and then wonder harder at why a student would have a wand with a Basilisk core. She really didn't want that.
"It's a little risky for a little girl to be riding alone. Where are all your little friends? I'd have thought that your cousin at least would want to keep you company on the train, but that's none of my business. What is, is that Will's left me all alone, and I'm bored. Sit with me."
Veronica kept her hand on Tia's arm, light enough for the girl to rip it away. Most of what she'd said was in the same tone as before. Those last three words though, they were hers. Not mean, not cruel, but the last shred of her true self that Ronnie could show. They weren't even so much of a command, more a quiet request. Like something a girl would say to someone she was meeting for the first time, someone she was unsure of.
Ronnie's smile warmed a bit, and her wand finally stopped it's quivering. Her hand remained around Tia's arm, as if someone asking a friend to wait, even as her hand continued to stroke the leather book in her pocket.
Chris Newcastle
I think my ears are going to fall off!' Chris exclaimed in his head, putting his gloved hands over his ears. Even with a tuque and the hood from his sweater, his ears somehow still got cold. He was fine with every other part of his body, somehow his ears were singled out. He wasn't even wearing warm things either. A dark blue soft shell jacket over a grey hoodie with a pair of jeans over a pair of sweats with a pair of boots on his feet didn't look like were able to keep in the warmth but somehow it, leaving his ears to freeze and his nose feel funny.
He really couldn't wait to get home and drink a cup of his mom's spiced eggnog. That drink really hit the spot. He couldn't wait to get his hands on that golden nectar and... 'Oh yeah, no Jules...' He remembered sadly, letting out a sigh and pulled his unzipped jacket closer together, suddenly feeling colder and felt a chill go down his spine. 'First Christmas without him.' If this was earlier that school year, Chris would of probably teared up; he and his dog were really close. But as the months went by, he slowly was able to move on, now only eliciting a small frown before quickly changing back to however he was before. Or he would just mask it all with a fond smile. Either way, he really missed that dog. But not only it was his dog he missed, his grandfather wouldn't be there either. He too, died over the summer. Chris and his grandfather were close as well as he filled in the role of father figure when his parents divorced. He truly missed them both.
Putting on a smile, Chris climbed aboard the Hogwarts Express, as did everyone who weren't staying at the castle, for his trip home for the holidays. After stowing his trunk and shouldering his guitar case, he walked down the train aisle for a seat, blowing into his hands and warming his ears with them. Feeling the warmth of the train, he pulled down his hood and pulled up his sleeves, but his ears were still freezing. He was looking at the spot in front of him as he walked but stopped when he looked up. He raised an eyebrow at the sight and slowly walked towards it. A familiar Ravenclaw was holding the arm of a familiar Slytherin. "Um, hey Tia, 'ronica." He greeted bemusingly. "What are you two standing in the aisle for?" He turned his head to the right and slid a compartment door open, showing an empty compartment. He gestured for them to go in before going in himself. He sat himself by the windows and put his guitar by his legs. 'As many times as I see it, Veronica's smile still creeps the heck out of me.'

"Hey there, little snake. You're looking a little jumpy today."
Tia jumped when she heared a voice coming up on her. She relaxed when she hear the words 'little snake'. "Yeh, I guess Veronica. What do you want?" ,Tia replied hoping she wanted to talk. Tia needed to talk to somebody but was afraid if who ever was watching her saw one of her friends with her, it would mean trouble for her friends. Remembering that was why Tia had waited until most of her friends got on and then choose a different car. She had even tricked Jayce into thinking she had left something and had to go find it.
Veronica might be the only person she could tell about the latest present. Everybody thought that Tia hated Veronica. Tia had a one time wished to punch Veronica but that was before Tia had put the V-puzzle together. Now that Tia knew about Johnny, Tia still acted the same around her but now with respect.
Tia looked around to see if her watcher could be seen. He/she couldn't. Tia whispered to Veronica, "This is why." showing her the picture and having her turn it over. "I don't want them hurt V. If they are seen with me, he could kill them. It's not the only Christmas present I've gotten from him. If you want I'll sit with you but I don't even want you to be hurt because of me."
Just as she was waiting to find out what Veronica thought, she saw Chris. 'Oh,no.' ,thought Tia looking around, 'What if the Watcher saw him too?' ,worried Tia.
Veronica Blakele
Ronnie grinned, letting go of the younger girl. "I already told you what I want." Well, not exactly, but Tia didn't quite need to know that yet.
Veronica frowned slightly, turning the picture over. She handed it back, silently cursing what had made her gift so thoughtful. "Well, looks like you're in a bit of trouble, aren't you. Better be careful, little snake, or a bigger snake may gobble you up. Such a little thing like you can't fend it off without your friends. A group of little predators can easily chase away something big and nasty. After all, look how well you and your friends changed my tune." She gestured to herself, sweeping her arms a bit. It was a direct reference to that one Charms class, as well as the Forbidden Forest incident. 'Don't leave your friends behind, little idiot. I made that mistake a while back, and you don't want to follow my path. It leads straight to trouble.'
Ronnie nodded, her smile still in place as she followed him in. It would have surely looked odd for the two, who were thought to dislike/hate each other, to be conversing casually in the hall. She held the door open for Tia, closing it securely behind her. She didn't really want any interruptions. "Hey, I might as well get two birds with one stone. It's a christmas present, from Will."
They weren't, really. She pulled the leather-bound book from her robe pocket, digging another out of her bag. On each of the little black books, Chris and Tia had their names engraved. It was a completely hand-written spell book. Veronica had made one for each of the little group, as it was. The only stipulation, was that Will claimed they were from him. She doubted any of the group were very familiar with either hers, or her brother's handwriting. Hopefully, they wouldn't be able to tell until she was able to avoid any notice.

"V, I don't even know why this big snake is even after me. I do know that who ever it is their little messager has my brother's chess board." ,Tia told Veronica about Marcus' board coming up missing and the presents that the messager had left in it's place. Since finding out about Johnny, Tia trusted Veronica alot more. 'Maybe V can help me find out who is leaving these presents?' ,Tia thought still scared of the fact that she didn't know who the watcher was let alone who sent him/her.
Whispering to Veronica, "V, how do I stop somebody when I don't even know where the snake's eyes are? And if those eyes see Chris?" ,Tia said still looking around watchful of somebody seeing Chris. Tia pointed to the picture hoping that V would understand. " I don't want the watcher hurting Chris or you." ,Tia said knowing that Veronica could probably hear the fear in her voice.
Once the door was shut behind Tia with just those three inside, Tia relaxed alittle. Turning to Chris she said, "Hey Chris. Why aren't you with the others? Did Jayce ask you to keep an eye on me? Or were you worried me and V would get into another fight?" Tia was hoping it was the last one eventhough she knew that Jayce was worried about her and so might the others.
When Veronica gave her the present from Will, Tia saw that her name was beautifully engraved on it. "Thanks V. Here's yours and Will's from me." ,Tia said handing Veronica two gifts. Hers was a necklace that had a picture of everybody in the AFA, including her. Thinking, 'Hope she not upset that I put her picture in with the rest. I do think of her as a member and a friend.' Will's was a watch on a chain with the pictures inside the lid.
Looking over at Chris, Tia said handing him a watch, "Chris, here's yours?"
Tia turned her attention to her present opening the book. Tia was amazed at how indepth the spells were. Tia had gotten to know Will pretty well and knew he could not have done all this himself. 'Why won't V take some of the credit? These are beautiful.' , Tia thought smiling at Veronica.

In the short span of time before the two girl sat down, Chris was humming out a song while patting his hands against his knees as the beat. But he wasn't doing this out of his head, he had his earphones on underneath his hat and the wires and the iPod itself was underneath his sweater so the weather wouldn't wreck it. He soon realized that someone was talking to him so he paused the song he was listening to and turned his attention to Tia, the one who was talking to him.
He managed to scratch his head through his hat with a gloved hand and answered, "Well, to answer your questions in short: I just got on and neither. The full reasons are that I was at the station by myself and got onto the train by myself. That pretty much explains your other questions too." He actually didn't know where anyone else was but it really didn't matter to him. He was content with just being by himself since he could just sleep or just listen to/play music. But since he stumbled upon the two girls, he decided to sit with them.
When Veronica and Tia gave out their presents, Chris' eyes widened in shock. 'Oh crap!' Chris exclaimed in his head, 'I didn't expect them to give out really nice presents!' He, himself, was just going to give them candy and such but seeing the quality of the gifts, candy wasn't the best thing to give in return. Plus, he didn't buy anything yet. "Umm, thanks..." he said, still a little shocked at the spell book and watch. He felt a little awkward that he wasn't going to give anything in return. Well, not now anyway. "Sorry that I don't have anything to give right now, but I promise I'll get them to you when we get back to school." He would give it to them sooner but he didn't have an owl and the thought of borrowing one didn't slip his mind at the time.
Moving away from that, Chris then remembered the little situation that was happening earlier. He guessed that it was somewhat serious from seeing the look of the girls' faces, mostly Tia's. "So what were two talking about before I found you two?'
Veronica Blakelee
Veronica resisted the urge to roll her eyes. Tia could be so stubborn and fearful about such things. Couldn't she see that leaving her friends behind would only make her die that much quicker? "Who and why are unimportant right now. Knowing those aren't going to help you at all, until you get strong enough to stand against it. Better to tell your friends of the risks and have them stand beside you, than keep them in the dark. You'd die alone, and they'd fumble along in the wake behind you and end up dieing either way. People are stronger together than apart. Besides, with a weapon aimed at your back and death threats occupying your mind, having more pairs of eyes will mean more range to stop that weapon from sinking in." Veronica gave a small sigh, shaking her head. A macabre smile drifted onto her face, as she thought of the weapon she herself was wielding. For Johnny and Will, she wouldn't hesitate to do what was needed, to her 'future husband.' The smile slipped off her face after a second as she brushed the thought away. Ronnie leveled her gaze again on Tia, her eyes almost bored.
"No more talk of this. Worrying over such things to me will not get you anywhere. If you really want help, go to your cousin and your friends. That's what family is for, after all."

"Thanks V. Here's yours and Will's from me." ,Tia said handing Veronica two gifts. Hers was a necklace that had a picture of everybody in the AFA, including her. Thinking, 'Hope she not upset that I put her picture in with the rest. I do think of her as a member and a friend.' Will's was a watch on a chain with the pictures inside the lid./
Veronica accepted the two gifts, staring at the pictures inside. Her expression was unreadable as she looked at the two, before she slipped them into her pocket. "Will will appreciate it, he usually complains that his watches don't last. Something like this, he'll likely take much better care of. You shouldn't have bothered though, not for someone like me." Her voice was almost dead in tone, though it held a trace of resignation. She wouldn't turn down the gift, but neither could she use it. She was trying to distance herself from this little group, so she didn't drag them into trouble. If her family saw it.... the results likely wouldn't bode well. Casting an illusion over it wouldn't be too good, either. She couldn't wear it, couldn't allow it to be seen by anyone, but she would keep it. It would serve as a reminder of what could have been, had Johnny not been taken. The pictures inside would work to firm her resolve should she waver, as well.

"Umm, thanks..." he said, still a little shocked at the spell book and watch. He felt a little awkward that he wasn't going to give anything in return. Well, not now anyway. "Sorry that I don't have anything to give right now, but I promise I'll get them to you when we get back to school."

At hearing Chris speak, the life returned to her eyes and her voice. She waved him off, smiling slightly. "Don't worry about it. It's Will's gift after all, not mine. If you really want to get him something, ask when school starts back up again."
Ronnie tilted her head slightly, her eyes locking on Tia. This would be a major moment for her. Would she hide it from her friends, in the hopes of protecting them for a little longer? Or, would she let them stand by her side, letting all of them having an increased chance of survival. "Well, it's not really my place to talk. If you want to know, that question should really be directed towards little Tia."

"So what were two talking about before I found you two?'
