2012 - Remembering A Past Headmaster
(OOC: Combined threads from previous site)
Darik HouseElf
Darik had sat on top of the tall hedge of the Garden Maze for several hours and watched the students and adults talking, laughing, reading, and sitting quietly. No one had noticed him and he liked it that way. He could not carry out his plan until everyone had left the area. Dinner would be served soon, so his wait was almost ended.
As the last person left the area, Darik took a deep breath and floated down to the ground. The sun was just setting behind the trees of the forest. Slowly he made his way to the middle of the garden and stood beside the small pyramid. He bowed deeply to the structure and then made his way around the edge of it, planting a torch at each corner. When he had returned back to his starting point, he magically lite all the torches at one time.
One year ago, Joseph Witchard, the beloved Headmaster of Hogwarts had been murdered and had gone to the “Land of the Last Breath” A memorial service had been held and he had been entombed in the pyramid. It was an Egyptian honor of the Wizarding world. His murderer had never been found even to this day.
Master Joseph was one of the human’s who believed in Darik. He was the one who allowed Darik to come to the school and be a part of the children’s lives; to teach them and to learn from them. Darik had spent many years with Master Tarik and his family, but it was Master Joseph who made Darik what he was today within the school and the community of Hogsmeade.
Darik sat on the ground at the base of the pyramid and placed his hand on its side, quietly saying, “You are still missed Master Joseph and forever will be.” Taking his hand slowly away he let it drop into his lap lowering his eyes to the ground. A tear slid slowly down each side of his face.
(OOC: This thread is in Memoriam of Jeffery “Joseph Witchard” Nichols, the creator of this site, who passed away one year ago. He is greatly missed. Please add your characters to it in any way you would like. It will stay open until January 31, 2013, when it will be closed with a “wand raising ceremony”. If you have multi-characters you may make an entry for each. Thank you all for participating. For more information please read “ARCHIVED Burying a Wonderful Headmaster”)
Tarik Sadiki
Tarik looked down from his window to the pyramid below. The torches were light and that made him smile. Had it really been a year already? It seemed like just yesterday that...No now was the time to honor a friend...Not to Remember...how He died...But How he Lived!
Tarik left his office and headed down to the Ceremony. Joseph Witchard had wrote something to be read one year after his burial. Tarik had that now in his hand.
Reaching his friend and blood-brother, Tarik said with tears in his eyes, "Darik, he gonna love it! Joseph knew our ways...Even Wrote Something to be Read tonight. Would you like the Honor?"
Looking up at the Window of The Headmaster/Headmistress' office, Tarik said to what seemed like the air, "Hopefully tonight My Beloved Sasha will Finally make Peace with her Past...As Joseph always saw her in that office...Even when she didn't feel worthy? Joseph talk to her as she needs your wisdom!"
Note:
I am always with you all in spirit. We are so close even tho you can't see me. I appreciate your love and loyalty but your lives must go on. Give Sasha the respect that she deserves.
(OCC: Note was written by Jeff's mother Betsy to be read to the Staff and Students of Hogwarts. She also wrote some stuff that Joseph's portrait will say to Sasha. She was just asked "What would Jeff say?" Enjoy the Thread!)
Flo Richards
Flo looked at her watch. She had just spent half and hour, making sure her son Marshall understood the importance of making the sure he was at the ceremony on time and acted proper. She told him to let Mika, his best friend and Tarik’s son, and Mika’s twin sister Silvia to meet at the main door to the garden, at least a half hour before the ceremony began. Now she was headed to find her father-in-law to make sure he was alright and did not meet to talk before the ceremony.
Walking down the covered walkway which ran along the side of the castle which connected the building to the garden, Flo kept an eye out for Tarik. As she rounded the corner, she saw her father-in-law standing near the pyramid and Darik sitting on the ground in front of him. Quietly she made her way toward them. Reaching out she gently placed her hand on Tarik’s arm and said, “Father, are you alright? It is really going to be a great ceremony. Joseph would be very proud on the honor.” Reaching down she touched Darik on the shoulder, “Darik, you have set things up perfectly.” To this statement Flo received a half smile from Tarik and Darik looked up and although he did not smile, he nodded agreement to both Tarik and Flo.
Flo could feel the tears filling her eyes and she wiped them away quickly with the heel of her hand. The man they were honoring tonight disserved every honor they could give. He had taken a school with major problems and had started it on a path which could be followed by many. He had worked many long hours to give all those connected with the school and surrounding community a place to feel safe to express themselves and help others as they worked and played.
Looking again at her father-in-law she said, “I will go and make sure everyone is ready with their parts of the ceremony. I have talked with several of the students personally,” she said smiling, because she knew her father-in-law would know she had meant Marshall and Mika, who were a bit on the creative side if they thought the mood needed to be lightened.
Flo nodded toward the pyramid in respect and then headed back into the castle. She still had several of the teachers to check with and wanted to make a quick check with some of the town people to see if they were going to go. For those who could not make it to go to the school, it had been arranged for Hogsmeade residence to join in the wand raising ceremony from the town. She also wanted to double check with two of the forest clans to make sure they would know when the ceremony was going on so they could join in and not have to leave the forest.
