Late Night Visitor!
Nathalie Lupin
Nathalie had left late from the Tea Shop. She could see the moon high in the night sky. Sara was a good boss and had even asked Nat if something was worrying her earlier. How could I tell her about the gifts I had been receiving lately? Nat thought shaking her head. No, she would have just told me to tell Gabriel about them. Nat had told nobody that she had known very well who they were from. He has found me., she thought still wondering how it was possible.
How do I protect my family from him?, Nathalie thought still having the feeling that he was close. She had known he had not stop looking for her. The last present told her just how near he was as she had only seen the gift in the window nearby that morning. That was why I had waited for darkness, before leaving., thought a very worried Nathalie. She still wondered how long she could keep her husband from knowing.
Nathalie knew that he would be near enough that he would hear her words. She was furious as she said to what seemed like the wind, "Stay Away Uncle! I want nothing from you. You are not welcome."
She knew that she should have told Gab but then what. Her great-uncle was not about to let her forget. Continuing, she said proudly, "I make my own choices now!" To prove it, she had thrown his latest gift in the trash where it and he belonged.
Artemis Ancarri
"So bold, niece." Artemis' voice rang out from the darkness laden with his slight French accent. "So bold, indeed. You hide beneath the shadow of an ancient school surrounding yourself with those not of your equal, resisting the base impulses that come from just being what you are. You wish me away like some childhood nightmare. If it wasn't for me then you wouldn't have the power you waste. You make the choices I allow you to make, niece. Never forget that. Our kind are rallying around Daniel Marsden. With each passing day his force become stronger and stronger and soon, that precious school will be wreathed in a holy conflagration and all who stand against us shall fall!" A sinister laugh echoed from the shadows. "Watch as everyone around you, everyone you love perishes. Watch as everything you hold dear is ripped from you and you are powerless to prevent it!" Artemis' voice disappeared with a gust of wind leaving the cold night as silent as it had been before Nathalie stepped out of the tea shoppe.

"So bold, niece." Artemis' voice rang out from the darkness laden with his slight French accent.
Nathalie was a little surprised when her uncle finally spoke. She figured he would have just stayed in the shadows and tried to follow her to find Gabriel. If her outburst was able to get him to make himself known, then maybe she could get him to tell her why he was in Hogsmeade.
"So bold, indeed. You hide beneath the shadow of an ancient school surrounding yourself with those not of your equal, resisting the base impulses that come from just being what you are.
Nathalie wanted to remind him of his true self, not the monster that this alliance made him. She was about to speak when he continued.
You wish me away like some childhood nightmare.
Nathalie thought honestly, Only because that if what you have become, dear uncle. Nathalie still cared for the mentor he once was. She still did not understand what had changed him. Any gifts from him she used to treasure, now she had thrown them away. He had taught her to treasure life. Nathalie wondered again what could have caused him to turn his back on all that he believed in.
If it wasn't for me then you wouldn't have the power you waste.
Nathalie wondered what he meant by “power you waste”. She had her skills and still used them. Sure, she used them to hunt his new friends down, but she still used them. Her and her friends planned on putting an end to the Seven, once and for all.
You make the choices I allow you to make, niece. Never forget that.
Nathalie shook her head and thought, If that was true, dear uncle, then I would have never left your side. She realized that the day she left with Gab, was the first time she had thought for herself in a long time. Had her uncle really had that much control over her, Nat wondered. She still remembered how she thought that sometimes he could read her thoughts.
Our kind are rallying around Daniel Marsden.
Nathalie’s eyes went deep ice-blue at the mention of Marsden. She was about to remind her uncle of the fact that there was a time when he too would have hunted Marsden and any other that threaten humanity.
With each passing day his force become stronger and stronger and soon, that precious school will be wreathed in a holy conflagration and all who stand against us shall fall!" A sinister laugh echoed from the shadows.
She could not contain her thoughts no longer and said still with ice-blue eyes, “Uncle! Why are you here? I have not wasted my power. Instead I have grown stronger and used my strength against those that you call friends. You don’t make my choices anymore. You gave up that right, when you turned your back on those you had sworn to protect. The day you allied yourself with Marsden and the group that he controls. That was the day I sided against you. I will never go back uncle. Instead we will be Marsden and all that side with him to the justice they deserved.”
At the mention of the school, Nathalie got furious, “How dare you uncle, threaten the school! What are you planning? They are just children?” Nathalie began to wonder if her husband was right about Artemis being involved in what was happening to Gab’s cousin Tia.
“Uncle, are you involved in what been happening at the school, with the Spellman girl?” , Nathalie asked as she deliberately used the girl’s false last name. Nathalie was worried because if he had made the connection between Gabriel and the young girl Tia Andreas, then she didn’t know what he would do.
“Uncle, why can’t you just accept that I will never come back? I am not powerless and I will stop you.” , Nat said as she tried to reason with him.
Finally she said threatingly, “Anymore gifts Artemis and they go straight to my husband Gabriel. I am though protecting you. I won’t be accepting anymore presents. You leave here and never return. If I sense you again, I will tell Gab that you are here. Leave Hogsmeade and Hogwarts alone.”
She just hoped that her uncle believed her.

The evil smirk that usually adorned Artemis' face slowly disappeared as he listen to his niece. He found it replaced with a slight frown as he brought back unpleasant memories for him. There was one particular bit in her speech that struck home. "You gave up that right, when you turned your back on those you had sworn to protect." Artemis could think of only one person at that moment. The memories filled up his thoughts to the point that he began to tune out what Nathalie had been saying. Marietta, he thought himself, allowing his mind to slip back to the night she had been reborn in darkness. Allowing his mind to remember her beautiful face and for the briefest of moments, allowing himself to remember how much he truly her.
"You are mistaken, child," Artemis said, stepping out of the shadows and into the street a good ten meters in front of the woman. "It was the ones I'd sworn to protect that turned their backs on me." With that Artemis turned his back to the woman and began to make his way down the old street. "You will get no answer from me, niece. I have no information for you," he called back to the woman, never looking back. "I leave you with a small piece of advice. Consider it my final present to you," he said, stopping but not turning around to face Nathalie. "Run, my dear. Soon the nights here will be filled with fire and blood. You are only a few. We are many. Do not fancy yourselves Spartans attempting to dissuade the Persian horde on your doorstep. You cannot win this fight, niece." Artemis began walking forward once more, his stride taking on a more confident feel. "Run while you still can," he said before disappearing into the shadowy night.

"You are mistaken, child," Artemis said, stepping out of the shadows and into the street a good ten meters in front of the woman.
Nathalie wondered why her uncle still called her a child. She was surprised that he was only ten meters from her. He had gotten that close. nathalie reached for her wand but did not draw it. Something she had said brought him out of his hiding spot.
"It was the ones I'd sworn to protect that turned their backs on me."
Nathalie had to wonder if his madness had something to do with his love disappearing. Nat said semi-calm, "You still have not answered my question Uncle. Have you anything to do with the attacks on the Spellman girl? Plus what are you doing here in Hogsmeade?"
With that Artemis turned his back to the woman and began to make his way down the old street. "You will get no answer from me, niece. I have no information for you," he called back to the woman, never looking back.
He was not going to tell her. Nat decided to see if she could get some kind of response, "Who said I wanted information? No, I want answers, uncle."
"I leave you with a small piece of advice. Consider it my final present to you," he said, stopping but not turning around to face Nathalie.
Nat shook her head. She wanted only for him to leave Hogsmeade and the school alone.
"Run, my dear. Soon the nights here will be filled with fire and blood. You are only a few. We are many. Do not fancy yourselves Spartans attempting to dissuade the Persian horde on your doorstep. You cannot win this fight, niece."
Nathalie was furious again as she said, "I don't run uncle! Leave the school and Hogsmeade alone, uncle! If you don't I will tell Gab that you are here. If I was to come back, would you leave the Seven? I don't think so. You have become the threat and shall be dealt with as one."
Artemis began walking forward once more, his stride taking on a more confident feel.
Nat realized that her uncle had gotten under her skin.
"Run while you still can," he said before disappearing into the shadowy night.
"I have no intention of running uncle! If you come back, I will tell Gabriel you are here." ,Nathalie threatened again.
Nathalie walked for hours to ensure that she was not followed. She was sure the games had just started with her uncle. Nat also realized that even though she had sounded so confident with her uncle, she was scared. Her uncle was a master at getting what he wanted. If her uncle knew of Tia's and Gab's connection then what would he do? Nat had no idea what his game was this time but she had no intention of leading him to her door. As she got home at four in the morning, she saw her husband Gabriel opening the door.
