Thanks for the Memories (Tia and OPEN)(Gardens)
(OOC: Combined threads from previous site)
Miranda Dawson
Memories can help a person come out of depression. Memories could make someone be a better person even when they are cold and cruel. Memories could heal a person when they're broken inside. But, those were only happy memories. Some could haunt a person until death. Some could drive people mad enough to prevent suicide. Memories were good and bad, but to Miranda memories were never something to dwell on for too long.
Miranda opened her eyes to complete sunshine that came through the tree's branches that she supposedly fell asleep under. She looked around confusedly, trying to figure out how she got to where she was. She blinked her eyes for a bit as she racked her memory and realized that it was the wrong thing to do. All she could see in her mind was that it was raining and she was sobbing and she came out to the gardens to not be around anyone. She couldn't exactly remember why she was sobbing, though and quickly realized that she didn't want to know.
Sighing, Miranda got up to her feet and realized that she wasn't dry, but she wasn't soaked either. Looking around, she had to admire the beauty the castle's gardens held during the afternoon. It was autumn. Some of the flowers that were usually there during summer and spring were gone and the trees were a mixure of orange, yellow, and red. Some of the leaves were already falling of the branches of the trees.
Deciding that it wouldn't hurt to stay for a bit, she sat back down at the still green grass and just admired the scenery. But, then a memory engulfed her. She was sitting on some green grass along with a blond haired little girl. The little girl, she remembered was the one she always sang to after some of the orphanages snobby children laughed at her for a simple scar. Miranda knew the scar wasn't normal, but the little girl could do odd things like she could, so she wasn't alone when Miranda did something ridiculous by making the bed make itself. But, after she left the orphanage at aged nine, she never knew what happened to the little girl and wished she could see how the little girl was doing. Of course, the little girl wasn't so little anymore, but that was all she had in her memory.
Feeling that her back was a bit stiff, she laid down on the ground and looked up at the sun sifting through the tree branches.

Tia knew of only two locations at Hogwarts that reminded her of Marcus. The Forbidden Forest and the Gardens, Marcus would have loved them both. Tia had come out into the Gardens to think. She went over to the white roses and sat down. Tia did not see anybody so she started talking as if Marcus could somehow hear her. "Marcus, when I was eight you came into my life and now that I am eleven your gone. Why?" Remembering that she had lost another friend a year after she had met Marcus. Tia said, "Remember when I was sad because Mir got adopted? I feel worst than that. Aleast I know Mir is with people that love her. You did not even tell me we were related." Tia realized that due to her being angry she had said the last two sentence alittle louder than usual.

Miranda felt very relaxed as a gentle breeze went through the gardens and the sun was beating down on her face. That was her kind of day. Not too hot. Not too cold. She was so relaxed that she hadn't even felt the presence of someone else in the gardens with her. The voice of that someone kind of startled her as it sounded so familiar, yet foreign at the same time. And, who was Marcus? That name sounded familiar, too. Her brow furrowing in confusion, Miranda sat up and looked around trying to find the source of her confusion.
Her source made Miranda's confusion increase. The source was a little blond haired girl. Much like the one from her memory. But, in her memory, the little girl was younger and next to her was a boy named Mar... She immdiately perked up when she realized that that was the older version of the little girl from her memory. That was little Tia! Miranda smiled when she looked Tia up and down. She certainly has grown up. She looked so pretty, but sad at the same time. Why? But, then Miranda remembered that she had said that Marcus had left her. That certainly made her confusion run on high. She really needed to talk to Tia and find out what happened to Marcus. She remembered that he treated Tia like a little sister and protected her from a lot. She remembered she was kind of jealous that Tia didn't need her protection much anymore, but still stayed close friends as Tia was the only friend she had. But, wow, that was Tia. The one she had protected from snobby children before she got adopted.
But, how did Miranda know that that was actually Tia? It was a huge possibility that she was mistaking her for someone else. Then, Miranda knew how she would know. The nickname she always called her. Clearing her voice to speak, she said softly and slowly, "Little Tia?"
Tocanema Tia Spellman
Tia heard somebody say a nickname of hers that only two people ever call her. Only one who said it just like that. Looking at where the voice was coming from she saw her. Tia knew if she was right about this girl this would get her attendition. She said, "Yes, Mir is that you? " Miranda was the only other one who had protected her. When Marcus came he protected us both. Then she left about 3 months later.

Miranda smiled when she heard her old nickname. She couldn't believe that it was actually Tia! Yes, she may sound like a relative who hadn't see their younger relatives in a while, but it had been about two or three years since Miranda had last seen Tia. Suddenly, her old self kind of came back. The only self she had been around Tia and Marcus. Well, mostly Tia since she was still a bit shy and didn't know him as well. But, he had protected. He really protected her from nothing. Nobody really didn't talk to the shy and nerdy girl who knew way too much about everything. Plus, nobody wanted to hear the little girl ramble on about how to play the piano or any other instrument that girl played. That little girl was Miranda July Dawson and she didn't like it one bit, since it kind of decreased her social skills, but she was getting the hang of it ever since she had came to Hogwarts. But, Miranda wasn't always shy. She always defends people who are about to get hurt or about to do something wrong. Sometimes she's not even afraid to state her opinions. But, her confidence only came when something wrong or ridiculous is going on and then the rest of her is shyness and silent.
Realizing that she was back into her memories again, Miranda tilted her head down to hide the blush that came to her cheeks and got up to walk towards Tia. Not knowing how close she should come, she stopped a foot away from her old best friend and in a shy voice said, "Hi, Tia. It's me Miranda. How're you? And, what happened to Marcus? Why's he gone?" Her voice got a little more higher and more confident as she spoke. She didn't mean to sound so commanding, but she didn't want to leave things undone and wanted to get her answers. If Marcus had left Tia unprotected, she would hunt him down the same time she hunts for her long lost father.

Tia seeing Miranda started running towards her. "I am O.k. I guess." ,Tia said unsure of how she was going to tell Mir of what happened to Marcus. 'Mir must of heard what I said.' ,Tia thought. 'How do I tell her that Marcus is dead? More importantly, how do I tell her that it might have been my fault?' Tia knew that Mir expected an answer. She just didn't what her best friend to decide that Tia was the freak and Jinks that the kids of St. Francis use to call her. 'People die around me.' ,Tia thought starting to get tears in her eyes. 'First my family, now Marcus. How do I tell the one girl who might have had a crush on Marcus; That I might have gotten, if Jayce is right, my own brother murdered?'
Not able to looked at Mir out of guilt and fear she said, "Mir, Marcus is dead. He was found dead a week before I got my letter."
Miranda Dawson
Miranda didn't really believe Tia when she said she was "okay". But, that wasn't what caught her off gaurd. It was the tears forming in Tia's eyes that told her something bad had happened and had left Tia scarred. What had happened after she left St. Francis? Did the kids do something to Marcus to make him leave little Tia? No. It had to be more serious a situation than that. Either Marcus had left her or... or... Miranda didn't want to think about the last option. Or Marcus had gotten killed... That was something that would leave Tia scarred forever. Once seeing the tears forming in her former friend's eyes, Miranda closed the distance between them and automatically put her arms around Tia's small frame. It was like old times. Miranda trying to soothe the negative feelings and protecting her when Marcus couldn't. She had promised Marcus to always watch out for Tia when he couldn't and to come and find him whenever something suspicious was going on around the orphanage. He said he trusted Miranda's observant instincts and that was what made her and Marcus' bond stronger because they both wanted to protect Tia. While hugging Tia and rubbing soothing circles on her back, Miranda heard the few words that just made the world come to a complete stop.
Miranda stared at Tia's turned down face in shock. Marcus was dead... One of her assumptions were right. Curse her ability to get things correct. But, instead of revealing her shock, she hugged Tia tighter to her and said, "How? How's it possible? What happened Tia after I left?" Marcus always seemed so strong in Miranda's eyes. Like nothing could get him. Like he was bulletproof. But, it could be because Marcus was the first person she had ever looked up to in life and it kind of hurt to know that her former role model was now dead. Miranda didn't even know she was crying silently, but paid no attention to it as she was more worried for Tia than she was for herself. It must be hard to talk about someone who had loved and protected her like a big brother would do. Pulling away from the hug, Miranda wiped away the tears that were in her (almost... hopefully) little sister's eyes and just waited for Tia to calm down enough to tell her what happened.
Tocanema Tia Spellman
It felt good to be held. Tia knew that Mir was the only one that could understand her. She had talked for hours with Mir when they were at the orphanage. Mir was like an older sister. Tia was pretty sure that Marcus told Mir things that he had not told her. 'Had Mir known that Marcus was really my older brother? Had Marcus trusted her enough with who I really was?' ,Tia thought hoping he had told Mir. Tia knew that Marcus liked Mir alot. He had always talked about how he had wished Mir was older.
'How am I going to tell her? When I don't even know myself all of it.' ,Tia wondered. The first thing was this stupid crying. It was helping to finally get it out, but it wouldn't help in finding Marcus' killer so it had to stop. Tia started wiping her eyes. Next she would just tell her what she did know.
"You remember how Marcus and I would play that wierd game of chess? Well we play a game that day, but he did something different that day. He had me make a vow under wand light. He then said that he would take me into the woods but first he had to do something to the board. He put his hands on the board and the board glowed four colors. He told me not to open the board for a month. As we were leaving, Mrs. Wright stopped us saying I had chores to do. You know that she always let Marcus take us anywhere he wanted. Not that day, she did not even want him to go. They went to the side and talked. She asked why he had to meet him now. Marcus said, do you want him to come here. She said no. He asked her to protect me as she had always done and to tell Seth where he had gone and to get there ASAP. Then he handed me the medallion and looked back at Mrs. Wright said that he was glad that she had owled his dad and was sorry he had not live to see me. then he kissed me on the forehead and left. When Seth came back, Mrs. Wright talk to him quietly and Seth ran back out. When Seth got back, him and Mrs. Wright went into her office. I had to ask Seth something so as I got to the office door I overhead them talking about Marcus being dead and how two things were missing. Seth said,'that he took the knife that I got Marcus for Christmas and the picture of Marcus and Tia. He knows he missed Samantha. ' He then sent some owls and the next day he left again and didn't come back until about four in the morning. After Marcus death I was not allow out of the main house unless Seth was with me. They said that he died of a heart attack. I know that somebody murdered him Mir. When I got here I met a girl named Jayce Anderson. She plays chess the same way as Marcus. We found out we are cousins. She is pretty sure that Marcus was my brother and that our last name is Andreas not Spellman. Did Marcus tell you Mir?" ,Tia said knowing if she had stopped she wouldn't have been able to finished. How much had Marcus trusted Miranda?
Miranda Dawson
Miranda listened to Tia's story intently. A lot had happened when she had left St. Francis and she wished she would've never gotten adopted by her creul new "parents". She could've been there for Tia and comforted her through the times where Tia was mourning about Marcus's loss. She could've upheld her responsibility of protecting Tia like Marcus had asked her to a few months before she had gotten adopted. Marcus trusted her, but she could always tell that he wasn't telling her something and Miranda had hoped to find out his secret, but she never did. She gasped at the name Jayce Anderson. Jayce was one of Miranda's best friends. Sure the girl was younger than she was, but they would always be down in the kitchens helping out the house elves. Her and Junior's bond had gotten stronger over the last couple of months and nowadays they were seen talking and giggling outside the castle and inside the castle. But, she had always invisioned Junior as a younger sister that she would always watch out for.
Miranda wasn't surprised to hear that Jayce thought Marcus was an older brother to Tia. It sounded reasonable enough to actually be true. What if Marcus really was Tia's older brother? If he was, then why would he hide his identity from her? Miranda bets Tia that she would've been happy to know someone that was at least blood related to her. All children at St. Francis wished to know someone that was blood related to them. Even Miranda wished that, but she would probably never get her wish.
Sighing and taking Tia's hands in her, she said softly, "Marcus had told me nothing, little Tia. All he told me was to always keep an eye out for you and to look carefully at my surroundings. I suspected that something was going on, but I left much too early to figure out the pieces. Marcus had promised me to tell me a bit about what was going on... someday, but never got around to it since I was adopted that very same day." Taking a deep breath, she continued, "It's possible that you and Marcus could be related. Junior has a knack for figuring out things like that."
Tocanema Tia Spellman
Tia was sorry that she had thought that Mir had known and hid the truth from her. Tia thought, 'Maybe Marcus didn't mean to keep me in the dark but couldn't find a way to tell me? Maybe he thought the less I knew the better? He did tell me that when he got back we were going to talk. Maybe he had decided to tell me when we went on the walk but when Mrs. Wright said I had chores, he decided that when he got back would be better? Then he was found dead so he couldn't tell me.' Looking at Mir she said, "When you got your letter from Hogwarts what name was it under? Your birth name or your adopted name? I need to know Mir." Tia wondered because her letter had Spellman not Andreas. If Mir's letter came under her birth name then somebody here or at the Ministry changed Tia's letter. That meant somebody else knew Tia's secret.
(occ: The child is signed up at birth. so I believe it would of had your birth name on it. or you could say that it had your adopted name but only because you were legally adopted.Mir the reason for this piece is because Seth Wright, the headmaster at Hogwarts and the Minister all know about Tia Andreas and there will be posts about how her letter and place of school was changed. It will not happen in this thread but other involving those characters.)
Miranda Dawson
Miranda smiled at the mention of her Hogwarts letter. The letter had changed her life and she was forever grateful for that or else she would still be in the Williams' very small mansion serving their lazy arses'. Plus, she remembered the day very well as if it were only the day before when she was eleven and was in the Williams' big backyard doing yardwork. It was a very hot August summer day and she had been actually commanded by Roberta Williams to plant some geraniums right next to the prickly rose bush. Of course, Miranda had gotten a few scrapes on her arms, legs, neck, and face from the prickly bush, but didn't pay attention to them. It was only when she snuck in to make herself a sandwhich when she heard a loud screech from what strangely sounded like an owl. Turning around from her place at the kitchen counter, she froze when she saw a large tawny owl had a letter attached to his leg. It kind of freaked her out that an actual owl seemed to have changed its sleeping patterns and she knew she should've yelled like any person would do, but she felt strangely at ease at the sight of the owl. It was like the owl was supposed to be there and suddenly her mind flashed with images of an owl flying with a letter and holding out its leg to an elderly woman in her what seemed like her fifties. That was the day she remembered her grandmother Dawson for the first time and some of her memories from when she was little came back and she learned that she was a witch and that it was normal to get letters from strange owls who have a reverse sleeping pattern.
Coming out from the happy memory, Miranda looked over towards Tia and started playing with a button on her gray jacket, wondering why Tia would ask such a question. The jacket wasn't very stylish, but it protected her skin from the chilly autumn winds. All Hogwarts letters were supposed to be accurately true. Still pondering over Tia's question, Miranda said matter of factly, "Well, mine came as my birth name since my adoptive parents refused to make me a Williams. But, the letters are supposed to state the child's real name since they were signed up at birth... Are you saying that you think your letter came as your fake real name? If it is, then someone who has a lot of power had changed that real last name. Andreas' you say...? Do you much about the Andreas line? Or has it been wiped out?"
Tocanema Tia Spellma
Tia knew that Mir was worried about something as she saw Mir playing with her button on her jacket. Tia did almost the same thing but it was her playing with the medallion rather than a button. As Mir told Tia about her letter having Mir's real last name, Tia frowned. Tia reached into her back pocket and pulled out the letter. As she handed it to Mir she said, "This is what I got Mir. Jayce told me that the board would not have cut me otherwise. You remember the day that Marcus had me hold the chess board. The day that Marcus' board got the crown to appear above the tree and the fallen apple. Jayce said that only the Andreas' line had that on their crest. She also said that they were suppose to have been wipe-out almost a century ago. Do you also remember when you saw the letter Marcus got from that friend in Russia? How Seth grabbed it and asked you not to look at it. I saw your eyes Mir, you saw the name that was after Marcus and it was not Wright? Was It?
Miranda Dawson
Miranda took the letter from Tia and examined it. Yep, it had definitely said Spellman on it instead of Andreas. Yes, Miranda did remember the day that Marcus had let Tia hold the chess board. It kind of freaked her out, but didn't question it since Marcus would tell them what was going on anyhow. Plus, it did look like a crest. Like a very old crest that seemed to have been made centuries ago. Miranda frowned in thought as she resumed toying with a button on her gray jacket. But, just because a family had been wiped out, doesn't mean that all the family members of the Andreas' family would've been wiped out. She learned that when she did some research on her father's family. Turns out that the Dawson family had been big in French and had all went to Beauxbatons for centuries, but that tradition had been broken since Miranda, being the last Dawson, was enrolled at Hogwarts instead.
Realizing that she had been silent for a long time, Miranda spoke, "I was the first one to get the letter for Marcus since I'd been checking the mail that day, didn't I? Well, yes, it wasn't written out as Marcus being a Wright, but... I don't know. This all seems a little strange. I mean I'm not surprised that there are Andreases' in the world since a family is never wiped out unless the last person in the family never had children. Even if its just a little bit of wiped out family blood in them, they're still part of that family. But, other than that, I don't know Tia. It kind of seems like someone might've been after you or you and Marcus wouldn't have had to go seperate ways after your parents died. But, that's just my theory."
Tocanema Tia Spellman
"Yes." ,Tia said remembering that it was Mir's day for mail call duty. Marcus was gone visiting a friend from school. He duty for the day was picking up any pictures that needed developed and taking them to the photo shop in town. He would also pickup any that were done. Tia had dish duty that day, which she hated.
Well, yes, it wasn't written out as Marcus being a Wright, but... I don't know.
"What was the name on the letter Mir? I need to know if it said Andreas." ,Tia asked worried thinking, 'What if it said something totally different?'
"Yes, but if Jayce is right then I am the last of the Andreas." ,Tia told her best friend.
"The worst part is that my father was still alive when my mother died and I went to the orphanage, Mir. He never once came to see me or write to me. Now I find out that Marcus also kept the truth about our relationship a secret from me. What were they ashamed of me Mir? Why else would they keep my family history from me?" ,Tia said with tears in her eyes. She just could not understand why her family would not aknowledge her.

Had Marcus trusted her enough with who I really was?' ,Tia thought hoping he had told Mir. Tia knew that Marcus liked Mir alot. He had always talked about how he had wished Mir was older.
Miranda stared at Tia's turned down face in shock. Marcus was dead... One of her assumptions were right. Curse her ability to get things correct. But, instead of revealing her shock, she hugged Tia tighter to her and said, "How? How's it possible? What happened Tia after I left?"
Pulling away from the hug, Miranda wiped away the tears that were in her (almost... hopefully) little sister's eyes and just waited for Tia to calm down enough to tell her what happened.
She is pretty sure that Marcus was my brother and that our last name is Andreas not Spellman. Did Marcus tell you Mir?" ,Tia said knowing if she had stopped she wouldn't have been able to finished. How much had Marcus trusted Miranda?

Looking at Mir she said, "When you got your letter from Hogwarts what name was it under? Your birth name or your adopted name? I need to know Mir."

Was It?

"The worst part is that my father was still alive when my mother died and I went to the orphanage, Mir. He never once came to see me or write to me. Now I find out that Marcus also kept the truth about our relationship a secret from me. What were they ashamed of me Mir? "What was the name on the letter Mir? I need to know if it said Andreas." ,Tia asked worried thinking, 'What if it said something totally different?'
Miranda nodded slightly. She remembered every minute of her time at St. Francis Orphanage and she remembered the day when Marcus had gotten his letter. It was written out as Marcus being an Andreas, which confused her, but didn't make a comment on it because Seth whisked it away before she could call out to Marcus and say that he had mail. Taking a deep breath, she said to Tia, "Yes, Tia. It was Andreas. It's still very possible that you and Marcus could be brother and sister because your ages. You two were pretty close in age and he seemed to just know you as if he'd known about you his whole life. He knew you better than I did."
Miranda was very enraged to know that bit of information. If Tia's father was alive, then why hadn't he came to see his daughter. Was he the one who wanted to give her up after her mother had died? Was it out of depression or fear that he couldn't care or protect his daughter? But, even if Tia's father couldn't see his daughter, then he could've at least wrote to her to assure her that he was okay and alive. But, before Miranda could walk off her anger at Tia's father, she heard Tia ask if her family was ashamed of her. Miranda felt her anger subside as she saw the tears on her (hopefully) little sister's face. I won't follow your every step or what not, but I just want to fulfill my promise to Marcus because I know that he trusts me more than he should have."

Tia heard the words, 'It was Andreas' and Tia's mouth dropped. Thinking, 'So our last name is really Andreas. So who changed my letter and why?' Looking at Mir she asked, " Mir, do you really think somebody could change my letter and who would have that much power? If Marcus was my older brother than my letter should have said Andreas not Spellman. Another thing Mir, Did you notice how Marcus refused to call me Tocanema even when Mrs. Wright would scold him for calling me Tia in public? What if my real name is Tia Andreas not Tocanema Tia Spellman? Mrs. Wright always got that worried look on her face when you or Marcus would call me Tia. It was like she was scared someone would hear."
She was glad that Mir always had a way of getting Tia to stop her self doubts. The hugs were one of the ways and reminding Tia of her good nature was another. Tia smiled and said, "Thanks Mir, I needed to hear that. Maybe like Marcus, my father thought by keeping me in the dark about my past was somehow keeping me safe?" Tia kept her arms around Mir as she said, "I think Marcus liked you Mir and not as just a friend."
"I would love that Mir. Mir, Marcus was a pretty good judge of character. You have always been more of a big sister than a friend. What did those people do to your confidence? Marcus never liked them and he wrote you alot of times. He always said that they were not giving you the letters. Marcus even told Mrs. Wright about the letters. He sent you one about a week before my birthday." ,Tia said remembering that was the week that Marcus had checked the mail every day. He had sent Mir a total of 500 letters both by owl and regular mail. Mrs. Wright had even went to the address given and had found nobody home at the time. "Seth had said that if Marcus did not hear from Mir by August 15th, that he would find out what was going on himself." ,Tia said as factually as she could remembering that Marcus was dead by the deadline.
Miranda Dawson
Miranda nodded slightly at Tia's words about how her father was just keeping his daughter in the dark about her history so that she was protected. It was the only thing Miranda could get into her head because Tia's father was probably a nice guy by the way his daughter was. Or was he a pure blooded snob, but had a good heart and cared too much for his daughter's survival to appear in the orphanage to see Tia once in a while? Then, a theory popped into her head. If Tia wasn't in the orphanage and learned to care for others, then would Tia act more like a Slytherin than she did now? Miranda shook her head at the thought, but still wondered what Tia would be like if she was surrounded by her family instead of herself and the other children in the orphanage.
Miranda blushed when she heard Tia state that Marcus liked her more than a friend. Miranda herself had always had a big crush on Marcus since the first time she had met him. But, it wasn't because he was cute. It was the way how she viewed him as always knowing what he was doing. Like he was perfect or something. But, once she started getting to know him, she started to like him even more and her school girl crush wasn't such a crush no more. It wasn't that she loved him romantically, but she loved him a sisterly type of way, but the sisterly bond towards him was a little more deeper.
Miranda's eyes filled up with tears at the mention of how Marcus seemed to care for her. And, the last time she had ever seen him, she had treated him horribly. The last time she had seen him was when she was packing her limited number of things into a duffle bag so she could be prepared when her new parents showed up the next morning to take her away from Tia and from Marcus... Marcus had walked through the door casually as if he had been doing that all his life and sat on the bed beside the one she was packing her things on. Then, he begged her to stay at the orphanage since he felt that her new parents had a bad aura to them. He didn't want her hurt because he didn't want Tia to be worried, but Miranda knew better. She knew that Marcus cared about her and wouldn't admit it to her face since there was an age gap between the two of them. But, Miranda didn't listen and told him that if a set of parents really wanted a child, then they would never abuse or neglect that child, but Marcus still kept arguing with her. That was the problem between the two of them. They were both very stubborn which made their fights go on forever and never drop until one either apologizes to the other or they just both say its a stupid fight and just forget it all together. Anyhow, Marcus kept being stubborn and trying to reason with her, but Miranda just gave him the silent treatment that made him sigh and give up even if he didn't really want to. Before he went out the door though, Marcus came over to her, kissed her lightly on the forehead and whispered for only her ears, "Be safe."
Miranda wiped her tears on the back of her hand before turning her attention back to Tia. She wondered how much of her life she should tell Tia since Marcus was right. The Williames' weren't nice people. They abused her by slapping her whenever she did something wrong and neglected her by starving and not schooling her. As Miranda thought over her words, she watched as the tears that came from her eyes landed on Tia's beautiful hair. She wiped them away quickly as to not burden poor Little Tia with her hardships and her guilt that Marcus hadn't been able to contact her. She didn't even know that Marcus was even trying to contact her. She had always wondered why the Williames' always dragged her to fancy hotels and places where it was impossible not to spend the whole day at. Her new parents didn't want to be charged and put into cells with bars on them for abusing and neglecting the child they vowed to keep and treat her as their own. It all made sense now.
Putting her head on top of Tia's for a moment, she whispered softly so only Tia could hear her, "Marcus was right. My new caretakers weren't nice people. I have been neglected and abused, but I won't go into full details. Marcus was trying to contact me? Wow. I always wondered why myself and my caretakers always ended up in the most random places at the wrong times of the year. It all makes sense now, Little Tia. My new caretakers just didn't want to end up in jail and just moved around a lot and didn't in one place for too long as to not get someone suspicious of them. It all makes perfectly sense now..."

Tia looked up and saw Mir blush thinking, 'I was right about how Mir felt about my brother Marcus. She had a major crush. I wonder if they would have fought that day she left if he had just told her how he felt.' Marcus had never talked about the argument they had but Tia could see from his face that it was probably their biggest fight to date.
Tia feeling the tears fall on her head started getting mad at her best friend's caretakers. How dare they not take good care of her friend! Tia started thinking, 'Wait until Mrs. Wright finds out.' Mrs. Wright never allowed the caretakers to adopted any kids from the orphanage until they had went though a full background check and the home had been visited several times. These visits were done with no notice to the caretakers. Tia knew that Mrs. Wright would be furious that these people had somehow passed her tests when they should have failed.
Tia thought, 'I was right when I felt the tears. They hurt Mir real bad. She would not be crying otherwise. Maybe I should send Mrs. Wright an owl about this? These jerks should have never been granted approval to adopt Mir. Mrs. Wright will have them arrested and have Mir taken from their care. She will not be going back to them this time.'
Tia answered Mir, "Just wait until Mrs. Wright finds out. She will see justice done and they will be where they belong. How dare they hurt you. I hope you have no intention of going back. Because I do not believe the Wrights will allow that after me and you send owls to them telling of what has been happening. Why didn't you send an owl the minute this stuff started? You know Mrs. Wright does not allow people to adopt her kids as she calls us unless the kids are accepting of the adoption. Even then all the kid has to do is call or in your case owl and she investigates any charges that the child has brought up and the child is removed from the home."
Miranda Dawson
Miranda smiled sadly at the mention of Mrs. Wright. Mrs. Wright had always considered the children in the orphanage 'her children'. She was like the mother some children used to have. She was the like the mother who the children with they had, but just doesn't wanted it to be Mrs. Wright herself. Besides having a high respect for Seth and Marcus, Miranda also had a high respect for Mrs. Wright also. And, Miranda's respect for the motherly woman wasn't because she was motherly, but because she ran the orphanage and always kept things in order and in perfect shape. And, it was the way Mrs. Wright treated her children that always fascinated Miranda. In some of the books she had read, the head of the orphanage was always the villan, but Mrs. Wright was the kind of head that always treated situations and her children equally and fairly.
Miranda wiped away the remaining tears that were on her cheeks and told just as quietly as before, "Tia, I was scared. If the Williamses' knew that I had told on them, they would absolutely flip and I probably wouldn't be alive after I did. Plus, I had no access to an owl and even if I did try to use the phone, they'd catch me in heart beat since they have cameras around their house which can show and hear me talking on the phone." She felt the tears spring up again when she imagined herself sneaking out of her bedroom/basement to use the phone and getting caught by one or both Williamses' and getting punished severely. The Williamses' punishments weren't the ones to look forward to since the Williamses' couple had gone through what Miranda was going through and their parentses' ways have reflected off them. So, the Williamses' knew the most cruelist punishments to give. Without thinking about it, Miranda open her lips and spoke, "I have bruises...and some still hurt..."

Tia thought about what Mir had told her. Marcus, would have been furious if he had found out. When Mrs. Wright found out those people would be on a one way train to prison. Then Tia thought of something else, That explained why Mir had not said anything before she came to Hogwarts but what about after? Tia decided to ask her. Tia said alittle shyly, " Mir, you could have told us when you came to Hogwarts. Couldn't you? I mean they couldn't have touched you here. Could They?"
Upon hearing about the bruises, Tia started balling up her fists and thinking, If I ever see those people again... Realizing her temper was getting out of control; Tia thought, Mir don't need me losing my cool. Releasing her fingers, she turned to Mir and said, "Mir, Lets go send the owl to Mrs. Wright? You are in no way going back there."
Miranda nodded slightly. She remembered every minute of her time at St. Francis Orphanage and she remembered the day when Marcus had gotten his letter. "Seth had said that if Marcus did not hear from Mir by August 15th, that he would find out what was going on himself." ,Tia said as factually as she could remembering that Marcus was dead by the deadline.

Miranda blushed when she heard Tia state that Marcus liked her more than a friend.
As Miranda thought over her words, she watched as the tears that came from her eyes landed on Tia's beautiful hair. She wiped them away quickly as to not burden poor Little Tia with her hardships and her guilt that Marcus hadn't been able to contact her.
Putting her head on top of Tia's for a moment, she whispered softly so only Tia could hear her, "Marcus was right. My new caretakers weren't nice people. I have been neglected and abused, but I won't go into full details.

Without thinking about it, Miranda open her lips and spoke, "I have bruises...and some still hurt..."
