The Staff Table
(OOC: Combined threads from the previous site)
Tarik Sadaki
Tarik sat in his usually seat, nodded to the Headmistress Flara. Last term, Flara had not found the Echelon base and as such would leave secretly again once the spies believed their cover story. They knew that word would travel back to the Echelon that the Headmistress was still deeply morning Joseph Witchard's death and was seen as no real threat. Tarik cracked a sly smile as it was just what Flara and Sasha was hoping they would think. While the spies believed her to be locked in her office, Flara and a few hand-picked TOE members were actually secretly hunting for the Echelon. Sasha, the rest of TOE and now his sister's group stayed near the school as Flara and her team flushed the dark wizards out. He had to admit that it was an excellent plan.
He noticed that Sasha had just went about her usual duties. His beautiful wife never wavered or failed in keeping things going, even now with everything that happened last term, Sasha kept going.
Smiling as he watched the doors knowing that she loved this part of her job. The sorting of the first years was about to begin. This had all of the staff glowing as it made the hit that the school had received like a bad dream. There had been another attack on the school and now the Forbidden Forest was in major trouble as almost eighty percent of the forest was in ruins or totally destroyed. Whoever had done it had used fire stones. Tarik thought about what the message could have been that the attackers were sending. If their idea was that Hogwarts would closed their doors, then the fools had not met my wife. Hogwarts would keep receiving students as long as there were students to teach, Sasha would see to that!, Tarik thought as he wished Sasha was not so stubborn.
As the doors opened, Tarik realized that Sasha was a spitfire when it came to handling problems. She loved the excitement of each new challenge. His beloved would fight to the bitter end and it seemed that those in the Ministry had decided to just let Flara and Sasha do things their way as they made an excellent team.
Maybe when Fox returned or was found that would change but for the moment the Ministry just stayed out of their way. Tarik looked at his wife leading in the first years and said quietly, “Wise choice, I think.”
Ravone Castle - Arithmancy Professor
(OCC: First Year At Hogwarts)
Ravone Castle entered the Great Hall for the Sorting Ceremony. This would be his first year at Hogwarts as a teacher in the Arthimancy Class. He noticed the Head Mistress Flara and Professor Tarik at the very large Head Table. Not knowing how this school did things, he looked at Head Mistress Flara and the Professor for any clues on where he was to go.
Some schools he had worked at had an administration table, a teachers table, and a support staff table as well as the students tables. Not seeing any response to his questioning glances, he decided to wait quietly for other teachers and staff to enter. This he thought would also be a great time to meet some of his future students.
Seeing other teachers and some of the students coming down the corridor Ravone prepared to introduce himself to all who entered. His first year was going to be scary as well as exciting. He looked very forward to all the learning the students as well as he himself would learn, for he remembered in his other jobs that he always learned something from his students as well as them learning from him.
Pippin English - Care of Magical Creatures
The only time Pippin had left the area of the school was when she had spent one week at the Circus, getting aid to help animals of the Forbidden Forest and another week when she had visited the game reserve on the Island to check on the circus animals who had been retired there to live out the rest of their lives in piece.
The rest of the break she had spent in Hogsmeade and at the school. After the fire there was a great need to help the animals who had survived. There were the non-magical animals which roamed the hills and the forest. They needed food and medical care. Pippen had called in a few favors of some friends and along with Darik, had set up a triage of sorts at the Shrieking Shack. At first Brennan had said no to them using it, because there was a tunnel which led directly to the school from the shack. When Pippin had explained that was the reason she wanted to use it because of the ability to get supplies and other necessities quickly to the shack, Brennan had set up a security system, consisting of alarms and people to help guard the entrance. Security was tight and there were a very few people who could physically use the tunnel.
The townspeople had been marvelous, several of the families had lost animals of their own and had sick members from smoke inhalation and burns, but they were ready and willing to give and keep giving. There was more than enough feed and warm places to lay for animals and volunteers alike.
The forest animals had been another story. It was not easy even contacting them. Pippen had spent hours, in conference with Darik to learn what she needed to know. He had finally gotten her an audience with Julius the head of the Minotaur’s. The meeting had gone well and food and supplies, including medicines were slowing making their way there. She had not been able to make contact with the Centaurs’ yet, but Darik had said Julius would help with getting some of the supplies diverted to them.
Now it was time to head to the Opening Ceremonies. As she limped down the corridor she saw a very large man standing at the door to the Great Hall. Pippin had heard they had a new Arthimancy teacher this year, so she figured maybe this was him. As she got closer, she held out her hand and said, “Hello, my name is Pippin English, Professor of Care of Magical Creatures. You must be the new Arthimancy Professor, welcome.”
“We do not need to stand here, come and join the rest of us at the Staff Table,” she said as she motioned to the large table set on the dais at the head of the room.” As they walked she said, “I taught Arthimancy the first year I was at Hogwarts.” With a little extra chuckled she added quietly, “It is not a very popular subject but occasionally you will find a student who thrives on the numbers and their meanings. I was even reading a book over the term break, that the Muggles are starting to realize the correlation because in some schools they are teaching Logic by using numbers. It will be interesting to see how far they go with it, don’t you think?”
By this time they had reached the head table. Pippen usually sat in the end seat, but she figured maybe the new Professor may feel more comfortable there. It would allow him some room to stretch his legs out. She took the second seat in from the end and offered him the outside seat. Flo would still be able to sit on the other side of her.
Looking down the table she nodded to Tarik, and Headmistress Flara. Turning back to Ravone she told him, “The man sitting there is Tarik Sadaki, the Professor of Study of Ancient Runes, you have of course met Headmistress Flara and the other lady wondering here and there, is Sasha McChey-Sadaki, she is Deputy Headmistress and Tarik’s wife.” Pippen smiled because their wedding had been one of the few happy points of last term.
Looking out to the students, she saw Flo coming up the aisle. “The lady coming in now is Flo Richards, Professor of Muggle Studies and my best friend. The gentleman with her is Dr. Lance Kildare on loan to us from St. Mungo’s Hospital. My they look good together.” Pippin smiled because she was hoping the doctor and her best friend would discover each other. “As soon as the sorting ceremony is over we will be eating, then everyone will to their rooms and tomorrow bright and early class will start.” Pippin stopped talking because Flo had finally arrived at the table.
Watching Lance seat her then walk back to the entrance she said, a bit quizzically, “He’s not staying?” After only a short pause she added, “Excuse me Flo Richards, this is Ravone Castle, the new Arthimancy Professor.”
Flo Richards - Muggle Studies
Flo had a very relaxing ride in on the train. She had spent most of her time talking to Lance Kildare about possible Muggle Lessons and the problems of raising a very rambunctious boy. Marshall was a third year this term. He was growing so fast and she was very proud of his grades. If she could just keep him and Mika Sadaki, his best friend, under control it would be great. Lance and she had both had more than one laugh trying to think of ways of keeping the two mischief makers under control. They were never bad really, it just was they always seemed to find trouble and enjoyed working their way out of it. If they had not been such engaging little imps Flo would have torn her hair out long ago. For now all she could do was smile when she remembered some of their escapades.
Considering everything which had happened last term, all the adults on the train were in good spirits. It was a new year. Flo had seen most of them over term break either at the school, preparing for the new term or in London, when they got together occasionally at Charitee’s Charms Café, to discuss possible solutions to problems which may arise. Especially keeping the students safe and give them the feeling of protection which they would need to concentrate on their studies.
Entering the Great Hall, Flo realized it was quieter than other years. Most would not think so, but she felt an undercurrent of anticipation. Turning to her companion, she said as he led her forward, “Lance, you sure you do not want to stay. Rikki will not mind I know.”
Lance had been looking around the room, because it was the first time he had been to an opening ceremony at Hogwarts in many years. Turning to Flo when she spoke he said, “Now Flo, you know Rikki would like to be at the ceremonies. She feels she is needed in the Hospital Wing. I am going to relieve her there and make her come and have some fun. She has been much too busy over the term break with all she has gotten into. I will see you after ceremonies and if you will permit me, I will see you safely to your quarters.” Flo blushed. It amazed her because the only other person who had been able to get her to blush had been her late husband Michael. This felt natural and un-natural at the same time.
Flo only answered, “Yes kind sir, you may escort me.”
By this time they had reached seats at the head table.
Watching Lance seat her then walk back to the entrance she said, a bit quizzically, “He’s not staying?” After only a short pause she added, “Excuse me Flo Richards, this is Ravone Castle, the new Arthimancy Professor.”
Flo watched Lance as he walked back to the entrance to the room and smiled. Looking at Pippen to answer her question, she smiled also, “No Pippen, he feels it is more important for Rikki to be here and he has gone to relieve her so she can attend.”
“Hello Ravone, it is very nice to meet you. I hope you like it here at the school.” Flo turned and gave a quick nod to Tarik, her father-in-law and to Headmistress Flara. Looking around the room, she saw Sasha moving around to make sure everything was perfect. Another year had started.
(OOC: Lance and Flo are both my characters)
Richard Greene - Herbology Professor
Richard had decided to check out the hallways which ran along the back part of the school and ended at a door leading to the back part of the Great Hall before going to the ceremonies. Over term break he had walked the halls more than once with Brennan and several of the Aurors who Seth had delegated, double checking security measures which were in place. Now he made one last sweep to make sure there were no obvious surprises which would interrupt the festivities.
As he entered through the door located at the back of the dais, he noticed several of the teachers had already taken their places. The Great Hall was packed with students. Only enough room at the different house tables was left at the end closest to the main table, for the new first years to be able to take their seats.
As he walked to the other end of the table he said hello to Flo and Pippen, he also said hello to the new Arthimancy Professor whose name was Ravone Castle. Professor Castle had been checked out very thoroughly by Brennan and others. Anyone showing up at the school or in Hogsmeade who was not commonly known was immediately checked. A network had been set up covering Diagon Alley, Hogsmeade and Hogwarts school.
Richard waved at Tarik and smiled. Stopping only momentarily to whisper in Headmistress Flora’s ear, that everything had been checked, he made his way to the last seat and sat down. From here he could move quickly and would be able to see everything which was happening in the hall. As he scanned the students he caught the eye of a few mainly those who belonged to the Core of Allies. They were all having fun, but their extra training from Darik in Hogsmeade, Brennan and himself had also made each more aware of their surroundings. They had learned how to really see what they were looking at in detail. Tia Andreas, the 6th year Slytherin and their leader was turning them into a nice tight group, all could be proud of at the school.
Finally Richards’s eyes found Arianna Sadaki, Tarik’s older sister and the new Head Librarian, as she made her way down the outside of the room toward the end of the table where he was sitting. Smiling he said, “Ari, all is well I hope with your check. Mine was good and all areas are well under surveillance.” Richard stood and pulled out the chair next to him. When she had sat down, he regained his seat and offered her a goblet of Pumpkin Juice.
Arianna Sadiki - Librarian
Arianna arrived by Apparition just 30 minutes before she made her way to the Great Hall for Opening Ceremonies. She had been at the Ministry of Magic checking on some rumors she had heard. None of them had been substantiated, but all had to be checked and rechecked. Every member of The Caretaker group was on full alert and nothing was being taken for granted.
Before heading to the celebration she checked the halls. All the paintings were reporting everything was quiet. It was fabulous things to Ari to have paintings on the walls actually act as guards. Some of them had even asked to be moved so they could help in better ways. Those of children, animals and other people who did not want or could not help had been placed between those which could protect them. In a way the paintings had set up their own alarm system.
As she reached the door to the Great Hall, she looked in to see how things were going. All the sights and sounds were normal, but there was a definite undercurrent of watchfulness. She entered and walked along the outer wall, trying not to draw too much attention to herself. Some of the students waved and she smiled and waved back. She was looking forward to her appointment as the new Head Librarian. It would allow her to keep an eye on the students and the school. It would also allow her to do some much needed research in the stacks of books, especially the ones under lock and key.
Finally she made it to the dais.
(Richard) Smiling he said, “Ari, all is well I hope with your check. Mine was good and all areas are well under surveillance.” Richard stood and pulled out the chair next to him. When she had sat down, he regained his seat and offered her a goblet of Pumpkin Juice.
Ari accepted the goblet from Richard and said, “Thank you Richard. Yes, the things I needed to look at were all in order although we will still need to keep an eye on their future.” Ari knew Richard would understand what she was saying about the information she had found at the Ministry. Richard, as well as being her special friend, was also in The Caretaker Group. Ari turned to the rest of the members at the table and waved hello. Hopefully it was going to be a good year.
Marco Spellman - History's of Magic
As the doors opened, Tarik realized that Sasha was a spitfire when it came to handling problems. She loved the excitement of each new challenge. His beloved would fight to the bitter end and it seemed that those in the Ministry had decided to just let Flara and Sasha do things their way as they made an excellent team.
Maybe when Fox returned or was found that would change but for the moment the Ministry just stayed out of thier way. Tarik looked at his wife leading in the first years and said quietly, “Wise choice, I think.”
Marco had just got done with his check of the dungeons and gate. He always came in through the front doors. Checking the tables, he noticed that certain students were not where they usually were. Shaking his head as he walked up to the main table. Well, his seat was going to still be there after he dealt with the absent students, especially one certain Slytherin.
Seeing the new professor, he nodded. Then headed straight to Greene. Marco had already signaled Antonio about the problem. He saw the worry and fear in his best friend's eyes. Those six Core members better have just been talking outside and not anywhere near that forest.
Smiling he said, “Ari, all is well I hope with your check. Mine was good and all areas are well under surveillance.” Richard stood and pulled out the chair next to him. When she had sat down, he regained his seat and offered her a goblet of Pumpkin Juice.
Ari accepted the goblet from Richard and said, “Thank you Richard. Yes, the things I needed to look at were all in order although we will still need to keep an eye on their future.”
Once he reached Richard Greene and Arianna, He whispered, "We have six students not at their tables. Richard, they all are Core. Tia, Landon, Lily, Rosa, Danny and Miley. Make that nine, Luke, Mika and Marshall are also not at the Ravenclaw table. Maybe we need to see if they got lost? Antonio is waiting. Should we tell Tarik?"
Richard Greene
(Arianna) She entered and walked along the outer wall, trying not to draw too much attention to herself. Some of the students waved and she smiled and waved back. She was looking forward to her appointment as the new Head Librarian. It would allow her to keep an eye on the students and the school. It would also allow her to do some much needed research in the stacks of books, especially the ones under lock and key.
Smiling Richard watched Arianna enter the Great Hall. She looked more beautiful to him every time he saw her. The look on her face showed she was worried, probably about something she had found out at the Ministry he thought. Richard gave a quick glance down to the other end of the table and caught Pippin’s eye. She nodded the tiniest bit, to show she would be ready for a meeting after the opening ceremonies. Richard turned back to Arianna.
Ari accepted the goblet from Richard and said, “Thank you Richard. Yes, the things I needed to look at were all in order although we will still need to keep an eye on their future.” Ari knew Richard would understand what she was saying about the information she had found at the Ministry.
As Ari accepted the goblet, Richard gave her a slight nod, never loosing the genuine smile from his face. Nothing had to be taken care of at the moment; he was looking forward to enjoying the ceremonies.
When Richard spotted Marco coming in, he had second thoughts of being allowed to enjoy the one night. Marco was not a member of The Caretaker Group, but he was being considered. A final decision had not been made by the head of the group. Richard looked at Arianna and motioned toward the worried History of Magic Professor. Arianna gave a questioning look in Marco’s direction, then let Richard know he could handle it, but to let her know if he needed her help.
Richard surveyed the Great Hall. Yes there were students missing. His eyes fell on Starling MacStone at the Gryffindor Table and Silvia Sadiki at the Ravenclaw Table. They were both part of the Core. Both girls were nervous, looking at each other and at the main door. They were the look outs Richard realized. After a moment he connected with Star’s glance and gave her a very questioning look. She blushed and looked down at her hands then at the Main Door again.
“Marco, I think Star and Silvia, may know where our wonders are. Maybe if you went down and asked to talk with her quietly, she may be able to tell you something.” Looking down the table, he added, “I think Tarik has also realized, some of his young charges are missing. There goes Horus now to look for them.”
“I will take it for granted; you have Antonio looking at this moment. I will slip out and see what I can do. When you have some information from the two little look-outs there,” he said as he motioned to Star and Silvia, “follow if you can. I do not want to make a big deal of this Marco. The students need some peace of mind, and their professors suddenly leaving is not going to instill the greatest sense of contentment.” With this Richard leaned over and whispered in Arianna’s ear, “Just some students late, be right back.” He got up calmly out of his seat and walked down the outside wall with a smile planted on his face, waving at a student here and there, as if nothing was wrong.
(OOC Pippin, Star, Stella and Arianna are all my characters so I used them here.)
Alexia Friedmann - Divinations
Alexia stopped at the door leading from the back hallway to the Great Hall coming out just behind the end of the Staff Table. She had overslept and now was rushing to catch up to her scheduled duties. She had not taken the train in this year, because she wanted to check the school along with some of the other facility for safety. She had spent the day walking literally around the school grounds, making notes of any possible problems which may have been overlooked.
Luckily she had not found many. There was some shrubbery which needed to be cleared away from the walls and somehow a few of the boards had worked themselves loose on the old bridge. Someone had also dug a very deep impressive hole at one end of the Quidditch Field just outside of the playing area. She hoped they had found what they were looking for because the hole was now filled in and packed down hard. That was it other than a few broken window panes. About those she had a talk with the house elves. They never should have been allowed to stay unfixed.
She had stopped at the old perimeters of the Forbidden Forest and thought back about the fire. Looking closer she realized some of the underbrush was starting to come back. The forest would be like a new born Phoenix rising out of the ashes. She had smiled at that thought.
After her long walk, Alexia had decided to lie down for a short nap. Apparently she had been more tired than she thought, because she had woken up much too late to get dressed in Muggle fashion which she preferred. There was something about taking your time to have your clothes look just right, that made her feel prettier. Tonight, though it required some wizarding to get to the Great Hall on time.
As she entered she looked around in surprise. Something was amiss. Tarik’s falcon, Horus was flying out the door. Marco Spellman was talking to Starling MacStone at the far end of the table in the corner. Tarik looked worried and Flo was looking at him, worry starting to grow on her face. Richard Greene had just reached the main doors and was exiting the room.
Alexia stopped and introduced herself to the new Arthimancy Professor. “Hello, and welcome to Hogwarts. My name is Alexia Friedmann and I teach Divination. Please let me know if I can help make your first year better.” Then she walked up and said hello to Pippin and Flo. Before she took her seat, located two down from Flo, she whispered, “Anything I can do?”
All she received was a “no, but thank you” so she took her seat and looked around the room. Then is struck her, several of the more prominent students were missing. As she watched three more students, Mia MacRowe, Ryan McBurr and Telk Brooks rose from the Gryffindor Table and followed Marco out the doors. ”What a way to start a new year,” she said to herself as she sipped on a goblet of Pumpkin Juice, smiling and waving to some of the students who acknowledged her entrance.
(OOC: Flo Richards is another one of my characters so I used her here. I have permission to control Mia MacRowe, Ryan McBurr and Telk Brooks for this post)
Linda Halliwell - Transfiguration Professor
Linda had arrived to Hogwarts early right after she had seen Miley and Lily off with Lisa. Linda wanted to spend some time preparing for her lessons this year. She wanted to make sure she had everything ready for a fun year this year. Linda made sure that everything was ready. The journals were there on her desk ready to be given out when classes began. Linda looked at the time and realized that it was time to go to the Great Hall for dinner. Linda patted her cat Samantha before heading down to the Great Hall once she arrived she noticed that the students were already there except for the first years. She quickly headed to her seat and sat down.
Linda looked at the teachers and smiled at a new face. Realizing they must've gotten a new Arthrimancy teacher. "Hello, my name is Linda Halliwell, Welcome to Hogwarts. I teach Transfiguration."
Linda looked around and made sure that everyone was there. She checked some of the houses especially Gryffindor and Slytherin. She then noticed a few seats were missing. Her eyes widened in surprise. Landon, Stella, Miley and Lily were not there. "Landon, Stella, Lily and Miley are not at there seats..." Linda said worried. Hoping that her niece and adoptive niece are alright. Including the Russo children. "Should we go and find them? Make sure they're fine?"
Zhilan Wei - Charms Professor
Running just slightly late on her return from and unexpected encounter with a small group of Chinese wizards that were poking around Hogsmeade, hoping to find Fai. Her suspicions were far more correct than she could have imagined, except no Fai. A very straight, calm, and organized, too organized as the group cornered her for their approached. Zhilan had seen the trap but held a trick up her own sleeve, however, wisdom provoked that she at least speak with these criminals before alerting all of Britian’s wizarding community of their arrival and expedient exit back to China.
One one of the men, who was covered in a leather trench strolled closer while another in a matching coat closed in at the same time. Zhilan held her ground and already combined a spell to react with her strike, but they bowed as soon as they came within a safe distance.
Speaking in Chinese both men said in unison. “My lady Wie, it is an honor to meet you”
It was the woman who stood between them that faced her directly and offered no form of respect nor aggression. Zhilan knew she held the higher ground if these three had come to kidnap her.
But the conversation swiftly steered from confrontation to introduction and purpose. Yu and On were loyal employees of Fai, bearing the Red Dragon of the warrior’s arm tattooed across their backs, and did not considered themselves as criminals’ or murders’ but soldiers of Tibet. Standing by for the will of the Dali-Lama whom they absolutely believe Fai bends but never breaks. Something about a prophesy concerning a warrior displaced but returning to his people as the swords edge, ever testing the enemy until the time comes for the next Dali-lama to remove the barrier peace and open the door for war.
Chills rolled throughout Zhilan’s spine. She happened to like peace, because life was happier when the people lived at peace. Nevertheless, Fai was a wanted murder, mass murderer. These men were officers in his Red Dragon Triad, then the blood of innocent people was smeared all over their logic.
However the woman, the Chinese Ministry agent, named Xie, was also of Tibet but apparently served the Chinese Ministry as a Destiny Judge. To this Zhilan found some interest as to why she would be seeking Fai? Nevertheless, someone of her caliper of power and authority was not to be questioned. But her reasoning in supporting Fai found its way into infiltrating his organization only to be caught, threatened with torture, and discarded as a betrayer to her country. Somehow Fai had utilized her ability to see fates crossroad and released her. Ever since she has sought the fabled city of Shangri-La and found evidence of its existence, heard echoes of its glory and most of all reconnected with her people. Even received invitation into the secret double existence of the Chinese Ministry. The Tibetan power within the magical hall was far beyond what she had ever anticipated. Now she is on a mission to find Fai and dedicate her abilities to the cause of the destiny’s unborn Dali ‘Lama.
Zhilan was getting very close to the school and wondering when these pursuers would going to go and do what they were saying, and find Fai. However, it felt like a trap and no matter what he had done she needed to find a way to warn him.
She landed in a grove of trees with her pursuers following in step.
Zhilan hustled as fast as she could to get back to Hogwarts before the ceremony but the strangers would not leave her side. Far too much information was passing freely from these visitors’ and their demeanor was over gracious, at least the men. The agent kept whatever future destiny she learned about Zhilan to herself, she noticed
Zhilan stopped and immediately realized the precarious nature of her predicament. She stood no chance again the three of them, especially when one held the authority to take her life at a moment’s notice. Given her destiny held a tainted dark blemish that could mire society. But for now she was still breathing, and had to take a stand.
“You can’t follow me into the school. Please return to Hogmeade and purchase rooms. I must go to work, and I’ll not let murders and overpowered social assassins harm the students of Hogwarts.”
Xie finally grinned as if to laugh. “We care less of the happenings here. You have a pure heart Lady Wei. Your return to Shangri-La will be accepted with Joy. With you by our side they may let is in, If you are willing to see the city of our ancestors.’
Not one to normally succumb to fear, Zhilan spun around and began to run up toward the castle. Her thoughts raced. What if what they were saying was true? Did she alert Hogwarts staff and start a war with… what if there were more than three? And that agent could smear a destiny just to strike her target before they even knew why. Apparently their interests were focusing solely on Zhilan and as long as that was the case she could lead them back to Homemade or even better to London. After all, Zhilan had learned of another Chinese Ministry Agent roaming those streets recently but his place of lodging were unknown and his travel habits were sporadic to say the least. If she mentioned to anyone it would have to be Terik, but even that appeared hasty considering that they could have knocked her out and just kidnapped her if they wished already. But she couldn't just go off again without telling someone. So… Terik would hear this strange story and maybe even have some insight into the matter.
As she entered the hall her mind ran non-stop in consideration of the team. Both mean wore long leather jackets that included an intricate Yin and Yang design in the form of a red dragon. The female on the other hand appeared more like a special operations agent, for the Chinese Ministry. The only real conclusion was that she, as many other Tibetan wizards within the Chinese ministry, held mixed loyalty. But why would a member of the Chinese Ministry openly support Fai?
Zhilan realized that a situation was facing her within Hogwarts. Slytherin, Gryphindor, Huphupuff, and Ravenclaw tables were lacking occupants. Had she been that late? No, the ceremony had yet to begin and she could tell the other professors were scrambling for take care of the situation. She glanced back at Slytherin table to see if a certain student was… and her heart sank. What had that girl gotten into this time? But Zhilan realized that the one… well two students she never expected to be late or off on some deadly chase around the school were also both missing as well!
Ellery and his athletic student leadership program, Force, had walked a steady line of dedication to studies and adherence to Hogwarts rules while holding outstanding scores. Emily was competing with him in all areas except her involvement with the corps, which even Zhilan knew that Ellery disapproved of. Even though she had seen him go out of his way to help random corps members on specific situations, those were quite rare and never involved other members of Force.
As she glanced around the room her heart began to pound. Most of the missing students were honor bearing members within their own house, and considered student mentors. Sasha would have no choice but to make an example of them. However, these were not the kind of students that went out chasing rabbit trails. For these to be missing indicated a real problem, even a possible threat.
Poor Tia, the girl was like a magnet for negative energy. No matter how many charms, crystals, wards and just plain cognitive therapy, Tia still attracted negative energy which drew negative attention. Zhilan was just short of stepping beyond their daily meditations to begin the routine that would build the foundation of Zhilan’s wushu. Yes, Tia was more than ready to begin the series of complicated rotations while increasing the speed.
As the commotion broke into action Zhilan’s eyes followed Tarik’s pet, Horas as the bird darted beyond sight. Her first inclination bid her to remain inside the hall, but three reasons crossed her mind causing instant intently to be involved considering the two red dragon triads waiting for her to meet up with them after the ceremony. Not to mention the one Chinese Ministry Agent. Which, as far as Zhilan had learned of the British ministry, they did not train Pànjué Mìngyùn agents and might consider such a position as dangerous. Or at least no agents of such a kind as a Destiny Judge had ever stepped foot into Hogwarts as was common in the Chinese school. Just the thought of one roaming Hogwarts with students where they didn’t belong sent a feverish chill up Zhilan’s spine. That woman had no right to judge the social destinies of magical people outside of China. Zhilan rushed for the door in consideration of what kind of damage that agent could do if unleashed in a British school.
((OOC I control Ellery and Emily, Fai, and I received permission to notate that Tia was not in her seat from Sasha)
