The Sorting Ceremony (First Years Only!)
Sasha McChey
Sasha thought about the years before with a sad heart as she lead the first years to the hat that for years had divided the children in to different house based on what true values they had deep within. Her niece Tia might have the true perpose of the founders. Her group the Allies had members from all the houses. Looking back at on her family's placement, the Deputy Headmistress realized that those most of her family were Ravenclaws, she had family from all the houses. Smiling as she looked to the Staff table, she knew that now was not the time for change but it would come soon.
Sasha listened as The Sorting Hat began to sing,
“You walked into this school
innocent of what
was in your head.
Before you entered
you were told the rules.
Now come up here
my young ones
and take a sit.
Only moments from now
I'll tell you to
which house you fit
those who are noble
and bold as a Lion
to Griffindor
you will be sent.
the ones who are quick with knowledge
or wise beyond their years
to the house of knowledge of Ravenclaw.
If in your mind
I find somebody loyal
and trusting in the hearts of others
then to the House of the Friendly Hufflepuff,
will always lend a hand.
Finally you might be pureblooded
and quick to strike
then to the
house of Slytherins,
those sly snakes,
are where you
might find similar mind
those that are unlikely
to forgive so easily.
I will announce to all
which one you are.
You choose your place
by what type of person
your mind shows
that you are.
Let's go my children
put me on your head.
As this ceremony
is about to start.
I'd like to welcome
you all to hogwarts
and let's see
where you belong
as the sorting
has now began.”
Smiling as she stood next to the sorting hat and said, “When I call your name, you will come to the stool to be sorted in to your house.”
With that she called Lily Snape.
(OCC: I give the credit of the idea of The Sorting Hat's song to J.K. Rowlings. Though this year's has some of my niece’s work. Thank you LaTesha.)
Katell Cavatica
Upon entering the great hall, Katell looked around. Then she looked up at the ceiling and saw that it had some really cool enchantments. Then Katell turned her focus back to the front of the great hall. She saw the long staff table and a stool, which had a hat sitting upon it. Katell felt a mixture of fear and excitement. She stood in front of the stool and the staff table. After some of the other first years were sorted into their houses her name was called.
Upon sitting on the stool, the hat was put on her head. The hat started to speak. "What house should I place you into. Bold and daring. But willing and eager to learn. You have traits of both Ravenclaw and Gryffindor. So where to place you. I think that you would be better in, GRYFFINDOR!"
After being sorted into Gryffindor, Katell took the sorting hat off and placing it back upon the stool. She then went and took a seat at the Gryffindor table. She the introduced herself to her fellow house-mates.
Keilee Ortize
"Hmm. Where to put you?" the Sorting Hat questioned.
Keilee didn't know what she was feeling. Xian explained everything to her about the different houses and how one would be sorted. But still, her knees were trembling and her hands gone cold. She was really nervous when her name was called. Whatever house the Sorting Hat would choose, she would be there for seven years. She didn't know anyone except for Xian and they were not sure if she would be put at the same house as Xian. It would be nice if yes but Xian was two years ahead of her so they would have different schedules. And she shouldn't be too dependent to Xian.
She was a muggle-born so for sure she wouldn't be in Slytherin or else she would be bullied there. That was according to Xian. Gryffindor, Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff was left. She was okay on putting her in either one of the three houses. She just hoped that the people there would accept her.
"Aha! So many contemplations," the Sorting hat said. She forgot that it can see what's on her mind. She got nervous even more. She closed her eyes tight and almost stopped breathing while waited for the announcement.
"Hmm. Okay dear. RAVENCLAW!!!"
She finally opened her eyes and breathed normal again. She stood up, took off the hat and thanked it before putting it back on the stool.
She heard the loud clapping from the Ravenclaw's table that put a smile on her face. She walked fast to the table where one offered her an empty seat. This would be the start of her adventure. Her smile widened on that thought.
