Headaches can bring answers ..... (Hospital Wing, 2013)
(OOC: Combined threads from the previous site.)
Lance Kildare
Lance had finished the morning reports. He had not slept well the night before because of the general atmosphere of the hospital wing. Sasha had tried to give him rooms with the rest of the facility, but he had been stubborn and turned a couple of joined storerooms and a rather large old hospital section into a very nice living area. He could get into his office without walking into the main corridor or even through the hospital domitory.
If he hurried he would be able to catch the end of breakfast and then still have time to walk through Richard's herb garden. Since the man became head of Herbology the garden has grown and it was not hard to find any herb needed. It sure did save time having it all so close. He was making plans to have a couple of the students who were good at herbology become assistants. They would be able to keep his cabinets filled with the treatments he needed and get extra credit at the same time.
He walked out of his office, turned and sealed the door, and turned again to head to the Great Hall. Food was on his mind …. until he saw Tia not so calmly sitting on one of the beds looking around the hospital wing. She looked lost and confused. Slowly he walked up to her and went down on one knee. "Tia?"
Tia Andreas
Tia was more than a little upset as she woke up in the hospital wing. She tried to work through the massive headache to figure out what had happened. She remembered heading for breakfast and then feeling the headache. Tia tried to get more and there was nothing. She had to get to class.
Last term she had swore that these headaches were not going to interfere with her studies. Shaking her head as the headache nearly made her blackout again. Tia tried once again to get up saying, “These headaches are insane. I am not missing my classes especially Care of Magical Creatures...” Just then the room started to spin as the headache went from extreme to impossible.
She watched as Doc Lance slowly walked up to her and knelt down. Trying to focus on his face was becoming a major accomplishment. All she wanted to do was close her eyes, and block out the pain in her head. "It hurts …. my head …. it hurts, help please."
Lance Kildare
Lance took out his wand and made a quick reading of Tia. Her blood presure was up and her skin had become clamy "Ok, Tia, lets see if this helps." He but a gentle block on her mind … Tia seemed to start to relax. Lance took out his message ball for the Caretaker Group and sent one message to Sasha, telling here to bring Tarik and another message to Maxwell Sinclair, the Psy-healer. Most of Tia's headaches had their beginnings with someone trying to read or control her mind. Lance had a pretty good idea what was happening, but he would not be able to concentrate on the medical and the mental diagnosis. Maxwell would be able to handle the mental part.
"Tia, listen please," Lance said still kneeling on one knee in front of her as she sat on the bed, "I want you to sit very quietly until Sasha, Tarik and DoctorMax arrive."
Lance (Maxwell) Sinclair
Sinclair frowned as read the message, “Tia, headaches, Hospital Wing...Lance”The Psy-healer shook his head as he headed out of his office on his way to the main part of the Hospital wing. He wondered just what the Dark One had in mind this time. Max found having an separate office at the school, was much easier then aperating back and forth. As he grew older, it had become not so much fun to become disoriented by the transport.
As he walked the short distance, he thought back to what Tia had went through that past summer thanks to The Dark One, “Tia has been through enough of your games, Dark One. It took me the rest of the summer just to somewhat undo the trauma that your visits caused. She has O.W.L.S to study for this term...can't you guys give her a little peace for that?” Under normal circumstances, he knew Tia would do fantastic on her O.W.L.S but with the added presure she was going to be sidetracked.
Sinclair slowly walked up to the bed Tia was sitting on. He did not want to frighten her with a quick arrival, “Tia relax and listen to Lance.” He gave her a big smile and noticed the fear in her eyes. He thought they had taken care of most of that fear last summer. "You are going to be all right, princess."
Giving Tia one more reassuring smile he turned to face Lance, “Sasha messaged that her and Tarik are giving us time to do what is needed before they arrive. Sasha is notifying the other professors as to what has happened...I think she is mostly worried about overreacting? She said that Tarik is more concerned about members of the Core being worried when Tia misses her classes. You know how tight that group has become, Lance? We don't need them especially Landon tearing the school apart looking for Tia when we know where she is, do we?”
Tia Andreas
Protector was confused as he thought to the man, “I am not Dark, am I Priest? I found my little friend unconscious just inside the forest. I notify my friend Vlad. He took her to the hospital wing and went to find somebody to help her. Did we do right? How can my little friend study for her bird? I am more then happy to help her any way I can. Just tell me how?” He wanted to understand and then help her in her schooling. She had impressed his master this pass summer with her strength but the list of those around her worried him.
Tia started to get up as she said, “What you did Lance helped. Now I have got to get to class. I swore these headaches were Not Going To Interfere with my studies! I have O.W.L.s this term and these headaches are not going to stop me from attending my classes or studying. I don't even know how I got here Lance as I was headed for breakfast. Then woke up here with an impossible headache.” That frightened her but if she voiced her fear to either man then she would be here even longer and she was already late.
The fifth year smiled back as she said, “I will be Max when Lance releases me so I can get to class. I am already late.”
The Slytherin frowned as she said in a whisper, “Why do I get the feeling I am not going to be released? I am late already I need to get to class!”
Determined Tia got off the bed and started for the door when the headache once again struck. The young Slytherin felt as if the world was spinning and her head was about to explode.

Maxwell Sinclair
Maxwell inwardly nodded. The Protector was a lackey of the Dark One, but he had become Tia's friend and kept things from his boss. The man spent most of the time at the edge of a cave in the Forbidden Forest, where the mind of the Dark One, who was trapped behind a shield hanging on a wall deep inside the cave. could not read his mind. In his mind he said, You were correct in what you did. I will let you know immediately if there is anything else you can do. Rest now and keep a listen to her thoughts, while you can."
Looking up at Maxwell, Lance made sure the Healer had heard what Tia had said. Looking back at the girl he took her hand, making sure his thumb covered the inside of her wrist so he could gage her pulse rate. When she started to get up, he gently pulled her back down. "Tia, just the fact you don't remember getting here is going to keep you under my care for at least a little while longer. I have tests to do, right?" Lance smiled and winked.
Lance shook his head and smiled. "You know we can have the work brought here. You are staying Tia, so why don't you lie back and get comfortable."
.
Lance nodded. "If I am correct at least one, probably more of the Core will be here soon. I have put a magic lock on the door to the wing but, that has never kept them out before. " Lance turned back to the girl still sitting on the edge of the bed, "Tia, I'm not sure I am going to be able to let them in. We have between us," Lance motioned to Tia then Maxwell, "a decent idea on what is happing. I don't want any of the others to possibly get involved until we find a way to totally block the outside influence on your mind." Lance held up his hand when she was about to say something. "I will let one member in. You may choose who it will be."
Lance and Maxwell both grabbed one of Tia's arms at the same time. Gently they laid her on the bed. "Lie still Tia. We will make you more comfortable in a few moments. You are staying. I will have a nurse come in and help you get into bed. The Core and the teachers will be notified you are here. If you decide you cannot follow my orders I will have you sedated and none of us want that."
