Locks Are Not Always Opened With A Key (Richard, Tia) (Staff Offices, Professor Greene's Office)
(OOC: Combined threads from the previous site)
Richard Greene
Richard had made arrangements to meet Tia in his office 2 hours after their visit at the library. Looking at the pendulum clock on the wall, he realized he had about ten minutes. He had almost invited someone else to the meeting, but he did not want to spook Tia when she was just learning to trust him. The girl was scared beyond the normal fright of being nervous.
During their conversation in the library Richard had found an old journal, which belonged to Tia’s brother, who had been killed. Tia had agreed to let him keep it safe along with the three notes they would need to look over when she arrived. To his surprise, Tia had also added two more journals to the stack. One was from when she was about 8-yeas- old and after a quick look Richard learned of a little girl who had become scared long before Hogwarts. The second one was from William Andreas Tia’s father. To Richard it was the most interesting at the moment. The pages were blank, so invisible ink would have been used. Tia knew how to make it visible, so he would wait and give her the honor. He wondered what the journals contained and what they would revial when all the information is added together. They had only had time to read the last entry, because Tia had been worried about someone seeing what they were doing. At least in the office it would only be them, unless Tia had decided to bring someone with her.
Richard had set the scribe pen, which would record everything said in his office, and parchment up in the hidden small locked alcove behind his desk. Richard had installed three small locked hidden boxes. Only he could open two of them, but the third, the one containing the scribe pen and parchment, could be opened by himself and the Elf named Darik. He liked recording the conversations, because he had discovered in the past, when you were concentrating on one part of a conversation, you might miss another part, which at the time did not seem important, but later turns out to be a pivoting point in an investigation.
Richard sat down at his desk, took a sip of tea, and waited for Tia.

Tia Andreas
Tia was still visibly shaken by her encounter with Jackson. He had cornered her on her way to the Great Hall. Looking at her escort to Professor Greene's office, Tia tried to smile. It seemed that Jackson hated that Landon cared so much for her. He had been finally standing up to Jackson. Landon's brother had told her that it was because he had found out that it was the only way Landon stood a chance of her dating him. Tia had shot back that maybe Landon had just came to realize that Jackson's way might not be the only way. After some more heated words from Jackson, he had threaten her to stay away from his siblings unless she wanted to find out first hand why people feared the name Russo.
Landon had appeared just as the threat was spoken, and exploded. After the brothers had some heated words, Jackson stormed off, saying that he would catch Tia later. The look that Jackson gave had Tia shaking. Landon had requested that he escort Tia both to dinner and then to where she needed to be. Tia had only nodded. She ate very little and from the look Landon had given, Tia knew that he had been worried. She had also saw the look he had given his brother and realized that Landon was planning on doing more than talking the next time his brother came near Tia.
Now that they were at the door to the office, Tia turned to Landon as she knocked. As the door opened she said, "Thanks Landon, Professor Greene will see me back." From the look on Landon's face, Tia figured that he was not at all happy about leaving her there.
(OCC: Had Monica's permission to say what was said about Landon and Jackson as they are both her characters)
Richard
Richard looked up from where he was reading one of the books on Herbology at his desk. He had put all the Journals and other papers away in one of the wall compartments. It had been hard to not look at the information first, but he needed Tia to realize it was her information, and she had the right to say who could and who couldn’t look at it. She was only 15 years old, but from what Richard had learned she was going to need to start thinking really soon at some level of adult hood. She had been kept a little girl, by those who dearly loved her, because they thought that was the way to protect her. Richard was sure he was going to hear from her protectors sooner or later, so he was going to help the girl as much as possible before he was “called on the carpet” for his deeds.
Hearing the knock, he started the dicta-quill writing in the hidden alcove and then said a slight spell and the door swung slowly open. The first thing which hit his senses was Tia was shaking and had shrunk into herself, almost as if she was hiding using Landon, the boy with her, as a shield.
“Hi Tia, you are right on time. Come on in. Landon you may stay also if Tia would like. This is her meeting so she gets to say who stays and who leaves.” Richard hoped the boy would understand he was trying to treat Tia with respect and would be as an adviser to her and not trying to tell her what to do. Richard closed the book in front of him and set it off to the side. He watched to see how the two young people would react to what he had said.
Landon Russo
Landon couldn't believe Jackson. He knew he was a jerk. But this? This was taking it too far. Taking it out on Tia. He needed to do something. Real fast. As he walked with Tia he was swearing under his breath about things he would do to him the next time he saw Jackson. He hated him with all his might. He was ready to do whatever it took to protect Tia. No one messes with Tia and gets away with it when he is around. Not even his brother.
"I'm going to get him one of these days, I swear it." Landon swore to himself as they arrived at Professor Greene's office.
Landon smiled at Tia though hiding the fact that he wasn't so sure about leaving her there. Not after what happened with Jackson. He looked at Tia and gave her a smile.
"Your welcome." Landon said smiling.
Landon looked at the Herbology Professor when he spoke to him. "That's alright Professor, I have some business I have to take care of with someone. But...it really depends on what she has to say." Landon said looking between Greene and Tia.
TIA
Tia heard what Landon said about Jackson. That worried her as he already had detention because of him fighting with Jackson. Tia liked that he was standing up to Jackson. Still she was scared for him as Jackson had a wicked temper.

Standing behind Landon as Tia tried to calm herself. She had not wanted to worry Professor Greene.
Tia smiled as she wondered if she could talk him out of going after Jackson.
Tia smiled as she said, "Hello Professor." Facing Landon, she said still worried about what he was planning, "Landon, Don't! Jackson is just a bully. He is not worth you being expelled. Standing up to him is one thing what you are thinking of doing is another. He didn't hurt me, Landon. Just come in and let's forget about your brother." The look in her eyes pleaded with Landon to stay as she went inside the office saying, "Coming?"
Richard
Smiling Richard listened to the two students. Landon definitely did not want to leave Tia and go off, but he did not know how to ask to stay, so he just said good bye. Richard decided to help with his dilemma.
Richard hoped Tia would take the hint and ask Landon to stay for the meeting. He waited to see if the business he had to take care of was considered more important than staying and (in his mind) protecting Tia, from Richard could not guess what danger. It was an interesting dilemma he was deciding on.
Still watching the young couple standing in the open doorway, Richard found out, Landon was going to have a fight with Jackson; at least that is what Tia thought. He waited to see how Tia was going to handle the situation. From the way things turned out, Richard was pleased with the way she had gotten Landon to possibly stay.
Landon
Landon really wanted to go ahead and kick Jackson's butt right now in front of his friends. He looked at Tia. "He may not have harmed you physically, but he did on the inside I can feel it. I will not stand for that!" He told her.
Landon frowned when she said that. How can he forget about it? He can never forget it. He couldn't believe this. He looked between her and Professor Greene and sighed. "Fine I'll stay." He said finally after few minutes of thinking to himself.
Landon smiled at her and nodded. "Yeah, I'm coming." He said as he walked in the office. I'll deal with Jackson later. Right now, I need to be with Tia. Landon thought to himself.
TIA
Tia frowned as she said, "Landon, he is Headboy. I just don't understand why who you are friends with bothers him? You would think that he would be happy and think that it would help him."
Tia was confused as most Slytherin's had started being nicer to her after finding out that her aunt was the Deputy Headmistress. Tia usually ignored them as did her aunt. Jackson had never been one of them. Tia knew that her and Landon's friendship was unusual and last year Landon had wrote a note that ask if they could talk as well as if she had a date for the Grand Ball. Tia had not answered the note as she was unsure what Landon's intentions.
Trying to get Landon to forget about her reaction to Jackson's threat, Tia said, " The notes I have gotten over the years are worst than Jackson's threats. Landon, I ignore them just like I am going to ignore your brother." Tia just hoped that Landon had never seen her when one of Shadow's threats had shown up. Only a few of the Allies knew her well enough to tell her true feelings. This term it seemed that her fear was getting harder to hide.
Tia smiled when Landon said that. She truly just did not want Landon to expelled for sending Jackson back to the Hospital Wing.
Tia continued to smile as she saw him walk into the office. Looking at Professor Greene she said, "Jackson followed me from the library. It seems that his brother choice of friends is not the only thing that he got upset about. It seems he thought I should not have been talking to you or handed you those things."

Richard
Richard listened to the give and take between the young people. Landon had taken on the role of Tia’s prime protector. If he was going to maintain that role, Richard would mention it to Tarik, so the boy could be given some special training. From what he had heard, Darik was holding impromptu classes on some of the ancient Egyptian skills.
Landon definitely wanted to go somewhere else. His anger was high and Richard knew that fact would only make him make mistakes. He was putting his own desires in the background for Tia though, so he cared for her deeply.

Richard cringed inside a bit. He thought, “Tia asking him to forget about his brother would only make him think of him more. Landon needs to accept how his brother feels and stand up to him, but not go looking for a fight.” This knowledge would come with age though. For now Richard just kept listening to see how Tia handled the rest of the situation.
Richard smiled, Landon was staying reluctantly, but his face showed he had not dropped the idea of going after his brother the first chance he could find him.
Richard motioned for Tia and Landon to take a seat in the two chairs in front of his desk, while he listened. “Tia that would mean Jackson must have been in the Library listening or at least watching. Interesting, do you think it would do any good for me to have a talk with Jackson? Maybe I could have Professor Spellman talk with him as head of his house, if you think that will be better. The decision is yours.” Richard would give Tia as many chances as he could to make decisions.
Looking at Landon he said, “Landon this meeting if so I can advise Tia…not tell her what to do. It is fine with me if you would like to add information or even question something which is said.” With that statement Richard looked at Tia. “Tia, questions which Landon may have, can help you finalize your thoughts, and maybe give you ideas you might not have thought about. He will not be telling you what to do. Do you understand what I am trying to say about getting advice from different areas?”
Richard needed to teach Tia how to not feel like everyone was telling her what to do, but use information or ideas they might have to make her ideas better. Going from a child where you had to do what everyone said to an adult where you had to make decisions and live with the consequences, could be very difficult. Richard knew Tia was up to it though. She also had to learn not every decision would end on a positive note, those times needed to be used as a learning experience, accepted as being wrong and progress forward to the next challenge.
Richard watched Tia take the information in and process it. Landon looked like he was contemplating some of the present information also. That was a good thing for his future.
Landon
When Landon heard this. He didn't look surprised at all. This is something that Jackson had been good for. He felt a little anger inside him. Talking with Jackson will do him no good. He will continue on with it. Maybe Professor Spellman would be able to talk some sense. Maybe not.
Landon looked at Professor Green and nodded. "Alright Professor, sounds good." He replied to him. Landon looked at Tia waiting for her thoughts of this conversation
