Inner Demons, Outer Confusions (Professor Wise)
Tocanema Tia Spellman
Tia still could not believe her bad luck as she stood outside Professor Wise's office. This was the second time she had been to this office. Tia remembered back to the day she had first gotten on the Professor's bad side. It was last year and she had gotten into a fight with Veronica. Professor Wise had not like the disruption that the fight had caused and had taken points from Veronica. Tia had spoken up and had admitted to her part in the fight. The Professor, Jayce and her had talked about it in her office after class. That was the next mistake that Tia had made with the Professor. Tia waited in her office instead of what she was doing now.
This time it was worst. Tia had after arriving to class early. She even help a first year alittle. Then Tia had done the unthinkable; she had gotten up and walked out. 'What was I thinking? The Professor had eyes like a hawk.' ,Tia thought. "That just it, I wasn't thinking." ,Tia said to herself. "I was running away." Remembering her thoughts at the time, 'My uncle is dead. The man that killed my family is still out there. I won't let him hurt anymore of my family. And worst than that the Runes Professor knows who I really am. How?'
Tia also know that tonight she had to help Miley. But How?
Kalaira Darus
Annoyed by the disruption to her hidden studies and the fact that she had recieved a longer detention term after Professor Uri found out she had a restricted book outside Kalaira stromed down the hallways heading toward the professors office. Kalaira didn't care that others had been scolded too for being outside during class hours, this whole situation was simply a personal affront to Kalaira herself. All she wanted to do was learn. Wasn't that what Professor Wise was always talking about? You must learn as much as can be taught to you so that you will be strong enough to win the future battles everyone eventually had to fight. Kalaira had simply been tryong to do that; learn so that she could help win whatever needed to be won. She was tryingto better herself so that she could actually be of assistance against The Seven instead of a constant target for The Seven.
That was another issue. Kalaira still had no reason why she was constantly being targeted by that group of villians. None of it made sense. They wanted to know about the secret working of Hogwarts...who the heck was she suppose to know?! She had only been a first year when they had taken her. They had wanted to know about Adarian? She had nothing to tell except he was the greatest person she had ever known. What the heck could the daughter of a Russian Immagrant and his British wife possibly know that could be of any use to the villianous cult of power hungry wizards?
Up ahead, standing outside the same office that Kalaira was heading for was her young friend Tia. She looked lost in thought, almost to the point of fretting about something. Kalaira hoped she wasn't worried about the detention. Stuff happened, and this was a perfect case of it happening. 'Bad timing for us all,' Kalaira thought to herself.
Taking a deep breath Kalaira pulled a brave smile across her face and gave a small wave to the young girl, "Hey Tia. How you holding up?"
Tocanema Tia Spellman
Tia looked around when she heard her name and saw Kalaira coming up with a smile. Tia smiled and waved back saying, "Hey Kalaira. Okay I guess. I did not know she had followed me. I didn't mean to lead her to you guys. I didn't even know you guys were there until I saw you."
Tia hadn't known about the others. She had been heading for the forest to wait for the man Seth called the Dark Shadow. She had hoped that the Centaur would notice her and wait to see what would bring her into his forest again. 'The prefect trap.' ,Tia thought. Looking at Kalaira, Tia knew that she would now be very interested in what Tia was doing if not looking for her. 'What are my friends going to think if they find out that I was running away?', Tia thought as she realized that it would not take Kalaira long to come to the idea that if she was not looking for the Allies than she was running. 'Then Professor Wise won't be the only one giving me a major talking too.'Tia tried to smile as she remembered the last time she had gotten a talking too by her friend Kalaira. Her and Veronica had been practicing and Tia had done a stupid move by trying to copy her brother's full barrier. She had not even realized that she hadn't been able to get even a half barrier up. Kalaira had come and stopped them. Then that Centaur had come and one thing lead to another. Before Tia had known it the Allies were formed and Kalaira was counted as one of her best friends. And now one of her friends might be walking into a trap and she had gotten another one into trouble. Tia thought sadly about why she had decided to run in the first place, 'I had been having a free period before Charms when Miley and Jayce had at different times came and told me about the Runes Professor knowing my real name, I freaked. I hadn't even signed up for that class, so how does he know me? I came to only one thought Dark Shadow told him. I had figured it out in Charms after helping the girl Rosa. Looking at the other first years in the room, I knew of only one way to keep Hogwarts safe. Run and That is what I did.'
Tia just hoped that she could help Miley with her mystery note. 'Maybe I should tell the others what Miley found?' ,Tia thought realizing that just maybe Professor Wise had realized that something was worrying Tia. She had not told anybody about what happened last Christmas. All the Allies knew is that she had went with the guy that met them at the train after the guard Troy had gotten hurt. 'He had just tried to help me and he was almost killed.' ,Tia thought as she remembered that she had tried to keep her friends out of it.
(occ: We still have not done the Tia's Mysteries Thread yet. So Dahana had asked me not to say too much about what happened. You can if you want to say you were there at King's Cross?)
Kalaira Darus
Watching Tia closely Kalaira knew something was up. She couldn't quite put her finger on it but Tia's behavior was a bit off. Kalaira also knew she hadn't been around as much as normal, available if any of her younger friends needed someone to talk to. Between her school work, trying to learn new and difficult things and worrying about what she was going to do once she was out of Hogwarts Kalaira really hadn't had much time to worry about anyone but herself.
With a heavy sigh Kalaira walked over to Tia and reached out to hug her. "I know it wasn't your fault Tia. There was no way you could have known Professor Wise was following you. She's pretty crafty for a cranky old lady. I'm just curious about what you were doing out there. You have always seemed to love you classes and learning as much as possible. It seems a tad strange that you'd skip. Now, you don't have to tell me if you don't want to, but remember, I've been through my own share of crazy, scary mishaps. If you don't feel comfortable talking to me about it, or even Professor Wise, talk to Head Master Witchard. He's not nearly as scary as you'd think and he'd do anything to protect us students. He's the greatest pesron I know; you could say he's my hero. And he's never let me down. If you'd like I could go with you to visit him, make it easier for you to talk to him about whatever it is that is bothering you. you could just talk to me and I'll help as best as I can, but I'm not a fully trained adult. Or you can talk to Professor Uri, because she definitely has had to deal with some scary situations and would have wonderful advice. I do know that you and your friends are getting way over your little heads, and I applaud your efforts. just don't be afraid to turn to those more powerful then yourselves when you need alittle back up. Running away, hiding, or fighting on your own doesn't solve anything but others and yourself getting hurt. But that's all I'm going to say on this subject."
Kalaira took a step back and reached out to gently pat her young friend on ther cheek. She saw alot of herself hidden away inside Tia and that scared Kalaira to death. She feared that Mischief and Mayham were going to end up being the ruling existance for this young girl as it was for herself, but Tia seemed a bit more out of control, reacting before fully thinking everything through or even asking for help when unsure about a situation. That's where Kalaira had been luckier, she had had her older friends to help guide her and control her recklessness.
"Be careful my young friend. And let me help when and where I can. Never fear to ask for help, from anyone."
Uri Wise
Annoyed, frustrated, and frankly a bit tired Professor Ursula Wise was not looking forward to the upcoming detention session anymore then her two little trouble makers. The problem she was having was how to deal with the two girls. Tia just up and left in the middle of class and Kalaira was just skipping so she could read a restricted book she had taken out of the Library without permission. What Kalaira was readingwas also a disturbing subject, not uncommon for some adults to have mastered and use, but a girl so young...why was she so determined?
Rounding to corner to the hallway leading to her office Uri noticed that both girls were already standing outside waiting. Kalaira was looking down at Tia, talking to her very seriously. Uri's curiosity was highly piqued. One misfit giving a serious talking to another misfit? And the scary part about both misfits is that they were both highly talented little witches.
As she approached the two girls Uri could her Kalaira mutter something about never fearing to ask ofr help. It was good advice coming for some a troublesome girl. Clearing her throat Uri walked past them and opened her office door. "Enter and sit. We have much to discuss about how we are going to handle your punishments."

As Kalaira hug her and said that Professor Wise was crafty, Tia had to laugh. She said still giggling, "Yea, her last name should be Hawk. Thanks, I needed that."
Tia figured that it would not take Kalaira long to realize that something was wrong and she was right. 'How much has Kalaira figured out about what I have faced since last Christmas?' ,Tia thought not knowing if Kalaira knew that she blamed herself for that day as well as the attack on her uncle in Canada.
"yea, the Centaur was scary." ,Tia said remembering the day Kalaira was kidnapped by the Centaur. 'That's why I chose the forest. If Miley's messager and mine were the same than the Centaur would make short work of him or her.' ,Tia thought not knowing she was messing with her medallion.
Tia shook her head at the mention of the Headmaster. Tia knew that the man had more than enough to worry about then her and her friends problems. He ran the whole school. Thinking about that last thought Tia smiled slyly, 'He hires everyone here. I could ask him about the Runes Professor.' Tia knew that she had ran because of him and what he knew about her. She had to find out how he knew her.
Tia realized that Kalaira was thinking she was scared of the Headmaster. She was but more scared for him and the trouble she had brought to the school.
Looking at Kalaira, Tia asked softly, "Do you think he would know the backgrounds of the Professors? Or how a Professor could know information about a student that was not signed up for his class?" Tia realized that it was the fact that Tarik-Ari had said her true name that scared her into running. 'How had he known that I was in fact an Andreas?' ,Tia thought still shaking inside at the thought that she could have been wrong about her messager being a student. 'What if he was in fact a Professor? What do I do then?'
Tia still unsure about her words just nodded. thinking about the meeting that Miley had that night, 'I got to get more of the Allies then just me.' Smiling as she said softly,"Meet me and Miley later were we met the Centaur. Miley might have a problem." With that she slipped a copy of Miley's Mysterious Note into Kalaira's pocket. The one Miley found in the Library.
Yea, Tia had being about ready to bolt. A part of her still was as she thought, 'But nobody messes with my friends.' She always seemed to get her temper flared when her friends were in danger. The problem was where did the Runes Professor fit? Friend or Foe?
Tia felt the pat on her cheek and just hoped that Kalaira would check her pocket after they left detention. She had a feeling that all the Allies would be needed.
When Tia saw Professor Wise she lowered her head still wondering why she didn't just wait until after class. As she entered the room and sat down Tia thought, 'I hate being on her bad side. Out of all my Professors, she is the one I want to impress the most.' Remembering back to what the Professor had said last year about a fine line. Tia wondered if she might have just crossed it.
Kalaira Darus
Of all the comments that Tia could have made this was the one that annoyed Kalaira the most, "yea, the Centaur was scary." ,Tia said remembering the day Kalaira was kidnapped by the Centaur. Looking down at her young friend Kalaira was surprised by the nativity of the comment. Without meaning to Kalaira glared down at the young girl. She could sense a kind of fear, concern, loyalty flaring from her friend, but Kalaira just couldn't figure her out.
Before she had a chance to reply Professor Wise was opening the door, "Enter and sit. We have much to discuss about how we are going to handle your punishments." As Tia entered the room before her Kalaira muttered to her, "Surprisingly enough T, there are scarier things out there then the centaur. Crixus was just trying to prove a point, he wasn't really going to hurt me. And if running away was your plan, which I'm guessing at because I've had that same look in my eyes a few years ago, running through the forest is so not the way to go. Next time come to me, I'll take you through one of the secret passages."
Following close on Tia's heels so that she could finish talking without Professor Wise hopefully over hearing, Kalaira veered off to take a seat off to the left of Wise's desk. She knew she was in a ton of trouble, but she wasn't sure what Uri had in mind for either of them. Debating whether she wanted to lie to the Professor about Tia's attempted escape or tell the truth kept Kalaira's lips firmly closed for the time being. Curling up onto the chair Kalaira decided it was best to simply wait and see what was going to happen before attempting to fix the situation, for she could simply make it worse.
Uri Wise
An eyebrow raised Uri had noticed that her two students had been talking before she had reached her office, and as she was ushering them in she heard Kalaira muttering something to Tia and an almost angry undertone. Uri couldn't hear the whole conversation, but she heard enough and it put her on guard. 'Tia's trying to run away?! What for?' Wise wondered to herself. With a heavy sigh Wise walked around her desk a took a seat. With a quick swish of her wand Uri summoned up a tray of sweet pastries, tea for herself and pumpkin juice for the girls. 'Lecture time again.' The thought flowed through her mind as she handed out little plates and mugs of juice.
"Alright," Professor Wise started with another heavy sigh and a deep sip of her tea, "Obviously something is up, and either you are going to talk to me about it or not, but there are a few things you must know. One, trying to learn a high level transformation spell like you were studying Kalaira is a bad idea without some adult assistance. And simply going to Transfiguration class is Not adult assistance. And Tia, running away doesn't solve problems, it causes more problems. And running away from Hogwarts is the stupidest thing you can do because this is one of the safest and most secure places in the world. We have Aurors at the gates and all over the property for your safety. Head Master and several of us Professors have put up tons of protective spells and warding spells and every other kind of spell for you and your fellow students. If you do believe someone is out to hurt you or out to get you there are plenty of trained adults within this school to help you with your problems and concerns. Tia you are way too smart to be making such stupid mistakes. Please think before reacting. I know you have the same problem Kalaira, or you did. You should be helping this yout girl not incouraging her."
Taking another sip of her tea and nibbling delicately on one of the pastries Uri eyeballed the two girls as they digested her words. She knew they would either say something to her or they wouldn't. If they didn't then she'd get down to business of figuring out what punishment she was going to give for their detention.

Tia hid her eyes as her friend looked down at her thinking, 'I was hoping that the Centaur would scare the person that Dark Shadow sent as much as he scared us.'
Tia whispered "I know. I was hoping he would make the same point to my messager. Plus I wanted to tell him I was sorry." Tia had read a lot about Centaurs after last year. She had hoped he didn't hold what she had called him against all the students.
"How else I am I suppose to set a trap?" ,Tia whispered.
Tia sat down on Kalaira's left side. Like Kal, Tia knew that she was back on the Professor's bad side. 'I hate not knowing my past or who I can trust.' ,Tia thought remembering that her families' enemies seemed to know more about her past than she did. 'That is going to change.' ,Tia thought deciding it was time to find Dark Shadow's messenger and put a stop to him or her.
Tia looked at the tray and wondered, 'Pastries and Pumpkin Juice? I thought we were in trouble?' Tia could not figure out what Professor Wise was up to. Tia glanced over to Kal with a questioning look.
Tia heard what Professor Wise said to Kalaira about a high level spell and looked at her friend with shock. Remembering back to the barrier spell she had tried and failed; Tia couldn't help but wonder if maybe Kal had an enemy that haunted her. 'How safe is this school?' ,Tia thought with a frightened look on her face.
Tia realized that it had been a stupid move on her part as she thought, 'What if that was what Dark Shadow had wanted?' Realizing that maybe he was hoping she would run. "He never comes here.", she muttered to herself. Catching herself she thought, 'He's messenger always leaves the presents.'
Noticing Professor Wise eyeballing her, Tia wondered if she had just been conned into revealing about her messenger and her reason for running. 'I got to start trusting somebody. And at least she is one smart hawk.' Tia thought still thinking about the Runes Professor.
"Professor Wise, Have you met the Runes Professor Tarik?" ,Tia asked as she messed with her medallion.

Tocanema Tia Spellman
Looking down at her young friend Kalaira was surprised by the nativity of the comment. Without meaning to Kalaira glared down at the young girl. She could sense a kind of fear, concern, loyalty flaring from her friend, but Kalaira just couldn't figure her out.
Tia hid her eyes as her friend looked down at her thinking, 'I was hoping that the Centaur would scare the person that Dark Shadow sent as much as he scared us.'
As Tia entered the room before her Kalaira muttered to her, "Surprisingly enough T, there are scarier things out there then the centaur. Crixus was just trying to prove a point, he wasn't really going to hurt me.
Tia whispered "I know. I was hoping he would make the same point to my messager. Plus I wanted to tell him I was sorry." Tia had read a lot about Centaurs after last year. She had hoped he didn't hold what she had called him against all the students.
And if running away was your plan, which I'm guessing at because I've had that same look in my eyes a few years ago, running through the forest is so not the way to go. Next time come to me, I'll take you through one of the secret passages."
"How else I am I suppose to set a trap?" ,Tia whispered.
Following close on Tia's heels so that she could finish talking without Professor Wise hopefully over hearing, Kalaira veered off to take a seat off to the left of Wise's desk.
Tia looked at the tray and wondered, 'Pastries and Pumpkin Juice? I thought we were in trouble?' Tia could not figure out what Professor Wise was up to. Tia glanced over to Kal with a questioning look.
And Tia, running away doesn't solve problems, it causes more problems.
'She knew that I was running. How?' ,Tia thought with a look of shock on her now pale face.

'How do I tell them about the presents last year? Or the fact that I believe it was a student?' ,Tia thought realizing that now she couldn't be sure it was a student. Messing with her medallion, she thought, 'The Runes Professor knew my real name. He called me Andreas.' Tia knew that even Professor Wise only called her Spellman. Then Tia remembered something,'Professor Wise calls me Tia. She don't use my last name.' Tia knew only one thing her letter had come in Spellman. 'So why would any Professor use a different name?' ,Tia wondered knowning she would never be able to trust Professor Tarik until she could answer that question.
Tia you are way too smart to be making such stupid mistakes. Please think before reacting.

I know you have the same problem Kalaira, or you did. You should be helping this young girl not encouraging her."
'Same problem?' Tia thought messing with her medallion. Looking at Kalaira she said softly, "So you have somebody leaving you presents too?"
Taking another sip of her tea and nibbling delicately on one of the pastries Uri eyeballed the two girls as they digested her words. She knew they would either say something to her or they wouldn't.
