Strange Happenings at the Ministry (Invite Only, Seth Wright Sr., Richard, Arianna, Lucas, Pippin and Franco)
(OOC: Combined threads from the previous site)
Seth Wright Sr.
Seth had headed for the Minister's office as soon as the signal went off. Another attack so soon, Seth shuddered. These Echeleon were bold Seth had to give them that. Their mistake was that Seth and Fox had set up alarms if one or the other disappeared without a certain set of steps followed. The alarm told Seth that Fox had left his office, without all of the steps followed. Since Fox was the one that had put the new protocol in motion, it only meant one thing. Seth cringed as he understood that the Minister had not left willing.
Entering one of his best friend's offices, Seth saw what he feared. The office was a mess. After searching, the spots only he and Fox knew about, Seth went to the portrait and said, "Alert the team!"
After the little man disappeared, Seth sat down to think. First the attack on the ministry that resulted in the death of Caulton and disappearance of several aurors, including Adarian's father. Now only a couple of months into Fox being made the new Minister and his own appointment as Senior Undersecretary, Fox disappears. Somebody was sending a message, though at least Fox might still be alive as Caulton's body had been found in this office.
Seth knew that the wizardry world was in no condition to handle another upheaval in the Ministry. He would need to keep Fox's disappearance a secret for now. They were still rebuilding after the last attack, now was not the time for a change of hands. The investigation would have to be done quietly and by people Seth Wright trusted. Very few could know about Fox being missing, which is why only a special outside team was being called in. A team that answered to Fox, Seth and Lucas Fairmont and had their own way of doing things. Seth smiled as he knew this team would not stop until they got answer. The good thing is that each had established their covers long ago.
The portrait returned and nodded. Seth watched the door as he waited for the first of the team code-named "The Caretakers" to arrive.

Richard
The tea kettle was on, his favorite book was sitting opened on his desk, and some of the no-name cookies from Sara Puddifoot were on a plate ready to be enjoyed. Richard had cleared his calendar so he could have some time to just sit and think about….well he was not sure what he was going to think about, that was what made this time special.
As he removed the kettle from the burner and made his tea, the little man sat in the chair in the painting on the wall. Richard listened to the call for a meeting. So much for a relaxing cup of tea. Before apparating out of his office he removed his school robe and anything which would have tied him to the school, and then he grabbed a handful of the no-name cookies and left for the meeting.
As he appeared in the Ministers office, his wand immediately was in his hand. The place was a mess; someone had done a very thorough job of ransacking every corner. Richard hoped they had not gotten to the information. He had worked hard setting up his cover and some of the non-published information could blow his cover quick.
Looking around he saw Seth Wright sitting in the desk chair. It was not behind the desk because with the overturned bookcases and pulled out drawers there was no way to even get behind the desk. “Hi, Boss. Am I the first one here?” he said as he picked his way through the clutter and found another chair, which he set upright, checked to make sure it was not broke and sat down.
Arianna
Arianna had decided to take a walk. It was a beautiful day and she had needed some fresh air and some time to think about how things in general were going with her life. Her brother Tarik was still upset she had come to Hogwarts from Egypt, but he was gradually starting to accept the fact she was staying. She had a few other things besides all the nastiness at Hogwarts to check into, some of which even Tarik, did not know about.
There was also Richard. Arianna had known Richard for a long time. He had worked for the family as a private investigator, which made it easy for them to have a reason to be in contact with each other. Richard was becoming more than a friend and partner though, and Ari was not really sure how she felt about it. She knew it would be nice, but Ari had spent a lot of time single and on her own, a relationship could complicate matters.
As she returned to her office, she noticed someone else was there. The little man from the Ministry had taken a seat in the chair in the painting on the wall. It did not take him long to let her know a call had gone out for the group. Ari removed everything she had on which could identify her as a teacher and apparated to the Ministry office.
It did not take her long to realize the place was in shambles and Seth Wright and Richard were sitting in chairs in the middle of the mess. “Ah, Hi Boss,” she said to Seth. Turning to Richard all she said was “Richard” and nodded. She backed up and leaned against the wall, taking up a position where she would be behind the door if it opened.
Seth
As he appeared in the Ministers office, his wand immediately was in his hand. The place was a mess; someone had done a very thorough job of ransacking every corner. Richard hoped they had not gotten to the information. He had worked hard setting up his cover and some of the non-published information could blow his cover quick.
The first one to arrive was Richard, who had filled the spot that was vacant when his uncle was murdered. Seth had not started this team as he had so many others. They had been started long ago by a Minister that had a weird way of dealing with problems. Seth had not even heard about them until he was stationed in America. That was where he had been approached by a very pretty woman. That woman had been heading the team for almost 85 years with nobody being the wiser. Her own family had never known what she did.
Seth watched Rich with interest and saw that the man had been prepared for anything. That had been the first thing that Seth had learned about this team. They were only called in when nobody else could get the job done. Once called they called the shots and handled things their way. Seth liked that about the arrangement with this group, No Red Tape! As long as the problem was handled, this group answered to no one. Seth chuckled as he realized that the Minister of Magic probably found out about them about the same time he or she met the British Prime Minister.
Seth smiled as he said, "Rich, if anybody is boss of this group it would be a certain woman. I know the rules of this group as do you. Once I put out the call, I have two hours. In those two hours, I bring the group up to speed on the situation. Once that is done and any questions are answered that you might have, the team gets to work. There is no call off and the team has free rein. At that time me and Lucas are just two more members of a team that will not stop until we get answers. We answer to no one and do things our way. We Take Care of Problems, hence the code name The Caretakers. But yea, you arrived first, Rich."
Seth smiled at the voice. He wondered how many of the now team had she personally recruited. He knew she had recruited him and Tia's father William Andreas. Seth said jokingly, "Ari, why was it again that the team code-named me "Boss"? That should have been your's as you probably recruited every single one of us. If you want, Ari while we wait for the others, Check the hidden spots for the team's stuff?"
Seth cringed again because he knew that they would not like at all what they found. It had been another reason he had called them. That reason was because of what he had not found and that meant the team had a Major Problem that affected them all...
Richard
Richard knew the rules. It was one of the things which intrigued him when he was first approached to become a member. He had worked privately before for the Ministry as sort of a free lance operative, mostly as a fact finder, but this position opened up a larger area to play in, and he had no problem relaxing into his present role in the team. He was still the fact finder, but he could now dig deeper without having to worry about stepping on toes.
Richard smiled when Ari arrived. She was the most beautiful woman he had ever met. They had worked together in concerns about her family, and that was where he had learned of her bravery, cunning and abilities to run a large secret group. Richard nodded back, “Ari, do I get a point for beating you to the meeting?” Adding a very large smile to the question, he continued, “looks like we have a problem. I have checked the standard locks, only team members can enter at the moment. Let me know when you need me to do something else.” Richard settled back in his chair. Nothing could be moved until all the team was here, so now he would wait to see what the orders were.
Arianna
From her position where she was leaning against the wall, behind the entry door, Ari smiled back at Richard and with a slight chuckle said, “No Rich, you do not get extra points. I expected you to get here first. You always have been one to jump into situations. Thanks for double checking the locks. I wonder why all of the other safety features were not working. Do me a favor, when we get started, check on the main safety features and see if you can figure out, what went wrong.”
Looking over at Seth, Ari smiled brightly, “Ah Boss, I think that is the perfect name for you. You know as well as I do, there are people in even our little group or those I am thinking of adding, who do not look kindly on working for a woman, present company exempt from that statement. I needed someone who looked older and wiser, “Ari said with a slight chuckle, because although she looked like she was in her 40’s she was actually in over 100 years old. Adding she continued, “You Seth fit that bill quite nicely. Besides, being second in charge of this menagerie, I needed to implant the respect aspect. So get used to it, my friend.”
Ari carefully picked her way around the room through the wreckage of the Ministers office. First she checked the hidden vault behind where once hung the coat-of-arms of the House of Condor, a gift from that family. There was nothing in the vault, which was not good. Next she sidestepped a pile of books from the fallen bookshelf and found the one book she was looking for. Opening it up to page 492 she took out her wand and said, “Show me”. A ceiling tile dropped down suspended on almost invisible threads. On the tile was the written ledger of past dealing. They had not found it; at least one thing was going right.
Looking at Rich she motioned for him to move his chair from the one clear spot on the floor. Using her wand she opened the sub-flooring and found the extra wands and other defense materials were missing. They had left the small makeup compact, which they must not have known was actually a recording device. That was a plus.
Closing the floor vault and the ceiling tile shelf Ari picked her way back to behind the door. Talking to both Richard and Seth, she said, “They have the codebook, so we immediately switch to the oldest one, until I have a new one made. Richard, there should be a finder signal on that book, so see what you can do there. Seth, you need to make sure everyone is up to date on coding and it will be up to you to keep track of our progress.” Looking around at the carnage one more time, Ari added, “Now we wait until others have arrived
Franco
The little man sat in the chair in the painting on the wall.
Franco was spending time with his brothers and sister. They were playing a game of Trivial Pursuit. He had seen the little man but as long as his siblings were in the room neither him nor Neo could or would acknowledge the call. It was their way especially since only two of the Spellmans had been chosen so far for the group code-named "The Caretakers". Looking at Neo as if he could do something to cut the quality time short.
Neo had looked towards Gab. It seemed that Gab understood what Neo needed. After going outside for a few minutes, Gab came back in and came up to their table.
In a very clear voice he said, "Sorry Neo, but the boss is coming. It looks like we are opening early."
The Spellmans understood and started cleaning up. Neo and Kat was expected back to work. Kat put a save spell on the game and then took it into the back room.
Leo and Marco left though the back door. Quickly as Neo explained to Gabriel that he and Franco had a met to go to, Franco whispered to the little man, "We are on our way."
As Kat came out of the back room, Neo and Franco disappeared.
Seth, you need to make sure everyone is up to date on coding and it will be up to you to keep track of our progress.” Looking around at the carnage one more time, Ari added, “Now we wait until others have arrived...
They reappeared in the middle of what could only be described as the aftermath of a tornado. Hearing Ari's words, Franco said, "If they got that, then it won't take them long to figure out who we each are. Oh and thanks for the call, we were winning."
Looking around he saw the rest of the mess and said, "Please tell me that is all they have. And where is Fox? Ain't this his call?"
He watched as Neo leaned against the wall, with his wand drawn. He wondered if his brother ever lost his cool. Shaking his head as Franco too had his wand at the ready.
(OCC: Had Neo's permission to say what was said about him.)
Pippin
Pippen had just returned to her private quarters, to lie down a bit. The day had been good so far and with no more classes for the rest of the day, she was free to relax. The older animals, which were being retired from performing at the circus she worked at, between terms, as a “all seeing gypsy” were on their way to the special preserve on Wright Island, thanks to the Wright family. The children had all been given assignments in Care of Magical Creatures which would involve research. They had been told to write out their questions and see if they could help each other find the answers. Pippen was a great believer in letting the young people hunt for answers on their own. So many teachers did not use “critical thinking” as part of their lessons.
As she sat on the couch and put up her feet, the little man appeared in the painting on the wall. Pippen let out a long sigh. ”Looks like there is no rest for the weary today.” she thought to herself. Turning to the painting she said she was on her way.
Pippen had joined the Caretakers about 10 years earlier, but she had not been used much. Working for the circus, both Muggle and Wizard she had been able to be the eyes and ears of the organization. Mostly she would give a report on “any” little thing she thought was strange and then wait to see if someone wanted her to react on the information.
She visited the Ministry often and kept up her cover of being the friendly little old woman, who always was there to listen to people’s problems, bring cookies and treats and help with small errands. Since her code name was “Auntie” she let them all think she was the Minister’s Aunt. Now as she walked down the hall she waved and smiled to a few of the people and headed casually for the Ministers office. Looking both ways along the hall to see who may be about, Pippin knocked and opened the door slightly saying, “Hello, Dear, it is Auntie.” Not letting on to what she saw, she finished, as she closed the door. “I have your treats.”
Once the door was fully closed, she turned to Ari, who she knew would be behind the door, and said hello. Waving to the others she commented, “Well, it looks like someone has been busy cluttering up the place. Anyone checked through this mess yet?” Pippin would have started to straighten by not all the team was present, so she did not want to disturb what could be evidence. She carefully, cleared a small spot on the couch, after making sure there was nothing stuck around or under the cushion and sat down to wait.
Alexia
Alexia was sitting in the Staff Lounge along with Brennan and Sasha. They were enjoying a cup of tea and talking about security at the school. Brennan looked at the wall were a favorite painting of some of the staff had been hung. Checking to make sure no one else had walked into the room, he casually pointed to the painting, where now a little man had taken a seat in the oversize stuffed chair. “Ladies, it seems we are being called.” Turning to the man in the painting, he said, “Tell them we are on the way.”
It always seemed to Alexia, when she found time to talk to Sasha about the school, something would happen to pull her away. This type of call could not be ignored. Turning to Sasha and Brennan, she said “Shall we go.”
All three apparated into the destroyed office, at the same time. The atmosphere was tense and everyone was on their guard, which was not good, because this was supposed to be one of the most secure offices in all of London. She said hello to everyone and caught Ari’s eyes. Something very serious had happened, and by the look at the mess in the office someone had either found what they were looking for or had given up or left. “Where is the Minister?” she asked no one in particular, while surveying the office. “Looks like almost everyone is here. Lucas good to see you again. Someone is stomping on your home territory, sorry. The only one missing is Theo Ferguson. From what I understand from a couple of the children at school, one of which is his niece, he is in a no magic zone and cannot be reached, although inquiries are being made. So what’s up?”
Alexia took up a position standing next to the couch, where Pippin was sitting with a partially overturned cabinet on the other side of her. Sasha stood near Ari, and Brennan went to stand by Lucas, near the back wall, where a very secret entrance was covered by a fake wall and a spell. Everyone was looking at Seth for further news.
(OCC: I have permission to say what Brennan Dawson, Sasha McChey and Lucas Fairmont have done at this point. Planned thread)
Seth
Seth snickered as he said jokingly, "Sorry I ask."
Seth said as calmly as he could, "It is not the only thing we have to assume they got. The list is also gone. It was the first thing I checked. Also, if you check the compact, the light isn't blinking which means... if it recorded then they wiped it."
He nodded as he remembered the book she was talking about. He hated to give even more bad news. Taking a deep breath, "Air, that book disappeared right before me and William went into hiding. If you remember, that is why the new book. Maybe one of the others can come up with something quick?"
Seth cringed as he listened to Air. Also seeing that still only two of the Spellman’s were on the team, Seth asked, "Have you decided on the other three yet, Air? It might make it easier for Mr. Chameleon there. And Cooler would not have to figure something out every time."
Seth shook his head.
Seth smiled and said, "Auntie, that is an understatement. And no, you know the rules. Only the places pertaining to the team are check until the whole team is here. And believe me, nobody is going to be happy when Air reveals that report."
All three apparated into the destroyed office, at the same time. The atmosphere was tense and everyone was on their guard, which was not good, because this was supposed to be one of the most secure offices in all of London. She said hello to everyone and caught Ari’s eyes. From what I understand from a couple of the children at school, one of which is his niece, he is in a no magic zone and cannot be reached, although inquiries are being made. So what’s up?”
Seth was worried as it was not like Explorer to not leave a way for the "little man" to reach him. Looking to the picture the little man shook his head. Seth looked at Air with a knowing look as that meant they had a big problem.
Seth took up a position standing next to the couch, where Pippin was sitting with a partially overturned cabinet on the other side of her. Sasha stood near Ari, and Brennan went to stand by Lucas, near the back wall, where a very secret entrance was covered by a fake wall and a spell. Everyone was looking at Seth for further news.
“Sasha you and Alexia will be in charge of the school and the surrounding area including Hogsmeade where you will have the usual help. Listen to the children and the facility. You may be able to pick up on something there. I know I really do not need to say this, but I would be remiss if I did not, the children are to be protected at all cost. Do not involve them in anyway; they are a smart group and might pick up on something going on.” Sasha would have more an ear for what was going on and being said with the facility. Although Alexia had that also, she would be closer to the children.
As everybody else arrived, Seth smiled. Looking at the time, he said, "That is a record for us, thirty minutes. Now first, those of you that don't know; Brennan has been invited to join the team. Since this is his first mission, hence the Code-name Grasshopper. You all know the rules, so I will let somebody else explain them to Grasshopper."
Then looking at them all, Seth continued, "About forty minutes ago, I got the signal that Fox had left his office without doing all the steps. I came here. Saw this room in the state you now see it. Checked the spots. Notified You!"
After a few moments, Seth said, "Air, you or Caretaker can reveal what we found or more importantly what wasn't found."
Ari
Ari thought for a moment, looking around the room, everyone know the trouble was multiplying by the moment. “Looks like we a jumping straight into “Level 4 alert” for the team. You all have your specialties and your own contacts. Check everyone and make any changes you think necessary. If there are any cross contacts, get together with the other team member and both of you keep track of your people. Let Seth know if any contacts are missing, hurt, or need a safe place to go. Boss you check all the safe houses, to make sure they are still secured. If any need to be dismantled do it and activate more. I want 25 safe houses active at all times, understood? The list will only give them lowest level codenames, because I replaced it and have the original list hidden, so check operatives first.”
Retrieving the compact from the sub-floor compartment, Ari tossed it to Franco, “See if you can get anything off of this. I installed a low level protection spell on it.” Ari knew Franco would be questioning low level, so she answered the question before being asked. “It had to be low level so if they checked it would appear to be erased and all they would hear would be static. You should be able to get something, if only a few words. With any luck a name or two may present itself.”
“I wonder if they came back for things they had missed the first time. Everyone use your own personal information to check people, places and items you may have hidden. Pull into safety anything you need too. If you need Seth’s help to protect anything, contact him directly. People I do not want to have to go to Level 5 on this. Our job now is to protect our people and find Fox. Fox knows what the procedures are and he knows we are looking for him, so he will do what he needs to do to stay alive until we can locate him.”
Changing the direction of her gaze to Neo and Franco, she said, “You two have been pulled into the team, because you have proven yourselves in other situations. I hesitate to bring the whole family in at this time because I will not be responsible for possibly wiping out your family.” Looking pointedly at Neo, she continued, “Cooler, if you think it is necessary to bring any of your brothers or your sister, into the group, come to me. Think well, my friend, though before bringing them in.”
“Auntie, can you roam around the Ministry for a day or so? You have a knack of picking up little tidbits, which eventually add together into a piece of the puzzle. If you cannot locate Seth then let Lucas know if you need anything” Ari smiled at Lucas because she knew he was a lot more capable of an Auror than he had let on in the organization. He tended to use his “supposed” inabilities to have people tell him things and explain situations. From the explanation he was able to gleam information the other person did not realize they had given out.
“Now for our newest member, Brennan welcome.” Turning in the rookies direction she commented, “Nice nick name. You could possible earn another, but for now it will do. Brennan this group was formed to take care of problems which could get wrapped up in red tape. We answer to no one in any other organization. I am going to pair you up with Richard, because you work at the same place and can come up with multiple reasons to be in each other’s company.” Smiling momentary at Richard, before she brought her gaze back to Brennan, she continued, “Listen and learn from him. We do not have a lot of rules. Protect yourself and your people. Give out no information which will put others in the group in danger, keep in touch and do not be a hero. We work together in this group. I mean TOGETHER, Grasshopper. If you go out on your own, you will answerer to the Boss and then possibly to me if he needs to bring me into the situation. One final word of warning Grasshopper,” Ari put the sternest look on her face she could manage, “only, I repeat only, the School staff in this room knows anything about the Caretaker Group. Do not take it for granted because of a relationship one of the people have in this room, someone else at the school knows.” Arianna was hoping Brennan got her point especially about Tarik, her brother and Sasha’s fiancé. She would mention to Richard later to drive home the point before they returned to the school. “Do not talk of it on school grounds or even hint there is such a group. That means silence also at any place of employment anyone in this group works at, unless you are specifically told by that person, you can mention anything.”
Richard
Nodding Richard, said, “I will get right on it Air. I know which one to look for because it would be special to the family, right?” Richard did not expect an answer because it would be the only logical tracer codes to use. Richard had worked with Arianna’s family on private matters and there were a set of security measures there also.
Richard gave Brennan a quick nod and smile of recognition. Richard had listened carefully to the rules which Ari had given to Brennan. It would not be too bad working with the rookie. Rich knew some of his background from past dealings with the Spellman brothers. If he could keep him a live long enough to learn then there was a chance he would become a very good credit to the team. “Good to have you on-board Grasshopper.”
Seth had followed the protocol exactly. There was no one to ask if the team should be assembled. If one of the safety features had failed or someone was known to be missing, the team was notified immediately. Now they had about a two hour meeting frame, where decisions could be made. The team would never assemble again in one spot until the job was done. Everyone would be kept informed, but since they had their own areas to work though, it was only occasionally necessary to join with one of the others in the group to carry out a plan. Richard liked working on his own so he only had teamed up once before and although it had worked, it had encumbered both members.
Richard cringed slightly and hopefully not noticeably, because he did not like teaming. Training was not his forte and he disliked feeling responsible for someone else. He realized Grasshopper could come in handy though. He was young enough and had the face of a younger person, so he could get into places and earn trust Richard might have to work hard at attaining. “Well, Grasshopper, it looks like we are working together. All I ask if you see something out of the ordinary you let me know immediately, no matter how trivial. The little details can get you killed. Understood?” Richard had to change some of his plans in his head. One good thing, he now knew who was going to hunt down the notebook. It would be good practice.” He turned back to the group to see what other information he could gather.
Pippin
Pippin knew the rules. They had been set there so that only limited people would have access to any of the more sensitive information. The more people who had access, the more mistakes which could be made, and the greater the possibility something could be changed even by accident. For now she would just sit quietly on the couch and watch as the team assembled. She knew it would be useless to second guess what may have taken place, although her mind was working on a few scenarios.
Seth had always been the one who was blunt and to the point. He did not try to cloud issues with the need for self-important feelings. Thirty minutes was a good time though, even though one of their members was missing. Theo Ferguson was probably climbing through some mountain crevice or spelunking in some cave somewhere. Ari would not be happy with him when he was found, but she knew when he was exploring everything else went out of his head, a fact which had saved his life more than once, from the stories he told. Pippin had to smile and the remembrance of some of those adventures.
“Sure Ari, I will just get with the Deputy Head-mistress at Hogwarts, “ she said as she smiled and winked at Sasha, who held the title, “and give her some kind of excuse, maybe I had to check on the transfer of the animals from the circus to the Wright Animal Preserve.” Again smiling at Sasha she added, “there is a real good chance she will believe me.” A small chuckle came out. “I have not delivered any of my special treats to some of the sections in quite a while.”
Pippin looked over at the new rookie, Grasshopper. He looked so young. Pippin realized she was seeing the new generation coming fast into the group. The thought struck her that maybe she should retire, knowing full well she never would. They would have to force her out, and they better be good at it.
Brennan
Ever since he had arrived, Bren had been staying as quiet as possible. He was already on shaky ground with a few of the members. Hearing Seth say that he had been asked to join, Bren let out a slight chuckle. Looking over at Seth, Brennan could still see how upset he was. The Hit Wizard had stepped on a few toes as he hunted the wizard that had killed his and Mir's father. One of those toes had been Seth's as the older man had found out that Brennan had been helping and talking to the Allies. Soon after Bren was taken aside and given a choice; join the group or Seth would make other arrangements. Brennan Dawson was no fool and had joined.
Bren nodded though he had a feeling that it was not because he was new that the older member was being teamed with him. He wondered how many of the team had been informed of his "gun-ho attitude" as Seth called it.
Again Bren nodded and then turned to Richard.
Brennan nodded as he said reading a piece of paper that had just caught his attention, "You mean like maybe a note address 'To The Caretaker' and unsigned? I thought nobody knew about this group."
Brennan listened to the lady that seemed to be in charge. Bren smiled as he said jokingly, "I thought nothing got passed that Medjai?"
"How many times do I need to say sorry about talking to Tia about you guys? I never gave names, but I hate that look in her eyes. You know the one she gives when she knows that she is being kept in the dark. That girl hates secrets.", Brennan said trying to get them to understand. He knew from the look on some of their faces that he was in big trouble. Looking at Greene and the Spellman’s, Brennan that he would not like the talk they had later.
(OCC: Seth, Tia, Tarik, Sasha are a few of my many characters. Jane, you get to say what was in the note. Fox though is not mentioned or the sender. Khalid is.)
Richard
Richard bent down and picked up the piece of paper Brennan was pointing at. The paper was a single sheet of plain parchment folded in half. On the outside it just had “To the Caretaker”. When he opened it all it said was “I can find you where ever you go. Tread lightly Caretaker; you are making too many marks on the rice paper. See you soon.” The note was unsigned. The first thing which hit Richard was the mention of rice paper. There was a very old Asian test, it basically determined how good you could get into somewhere and leave without letting the people know you were there. It showed your control over your body. A long piece of rice paper was laid on the floor and you had to walk the length of it, ideally without leaving any marks on the paper. The note was telling Richard someone had laid their version of the rice paper out and he was messing with something he should not be concerned with.
He looked over at Ari, folded the note in half and handed it to her. Then returning to his original spot, this time standing, he explained to Brennan, “My code name is Caretaker. That note was for me.” Looking back at Ari he continued, “Someone knew I would be in this office today. The note was on top of the pile, so it was dropped after this mess was made.” His eyes were questioning his thoughts. “I will take this up with Seth later. If there is a problem the group needs to know about, I will use the usual channels to get the information to everyone.”
Richard was worried on who had sent the note. Someone was certain he would be brought into the search for Fox.
Looking at Franco, Richard nodded. Then with a slight twinkle in his eye he agreed, “Yes, Magpie may be the new name. “ More seriously he continued. “Brennan, Tia is safe as long as she does not know too much. It will keep her attackers and watchers off guard if they think she does not know the answers to the questions of the past. Tarik, may, find out someday,” Richard gave a quick look to Sasha and Ari, then turned back to Brennan, “but for now he will be kept in the dark about this organization. We do not take care of only one person. We take care of many people and many different problems. We will of course talk about this later in my office, and you will be able to ask your questions. For now listen and learn all you can from the members.”
“I have a puzzle for you, with everyone’s permission,” Richard knew he would have that permission because the puzzle had been used before on a couple of the members. “Everyone in this room has a specialty. Some specialties may be figured out by the person’s codename, and some not. When you think you have everyone’s reason for being included in this organization, including yourself, come tell me.” Richard knew if Brennan was worth the training time, he would be paying close attention to the members, what they said and what they did, so he could solve the puzzle.
Ari
“I guaranty Tarik is told everything he needs to know, to take care of the problems he is working on. Grasshopper, one of those problems is Tia. She is a very special person to the future of my country. If we find out information he needs and it is cleared through the group concerning its possibilities of causing other problems, then he is told. Tarik is well respected by the members of this group and he is told things which others would not be told. This group is all important, Brennan, you allegiance is to this group. You are still part of Law Enforcement, and a member of the School Staff, but your top allegiance is to this group. We do not answer to anyone else but our selves, no government, country or person outside this group can say what we can do and what we cannot. Just remember, my young friend, this group can say what you do and what you cannot do, though.”
“If you have a problem, which you cannot talk to Richard about or one of the other members, go to Seth, if your problem is with Seth,” Ari, gave Seth a slight smile, then turned her attention back to Brennan, “come to me. If your problem is with me, find a member you can talk with. If you cannot talk with a member of the group,” Ari made a general sweep with her hand of the attendees, “forget the problem, it is not important.”
Ari, looked at the note, the handwriting seemed familiar, but she could not place it. She slid it into the pocket of her jacket to check out thoroughly later, and turned to listen to Richards’s explanation to Brennan.
Ari wished she could be in on the conversation Richard and probably the Spellman’s would be having with Brennan later. The boy was young, and Ari was taking a chance on what she saw as strength, in someone so young. She knew being partnered with Richard; she would always have reports on how he was doing. If it did not work out, then his memories of the unit would be obliterated. Ari had not made a mistake in the 85 years she had been running the unit but she had never taken in someone so young or inexperienced.
Smiling and trying not to laugh out loud, Ari thought back on the results of some of the other members with the puzzle. A couple had missed the mark and been told to keep trying. She thought it was interesting though, that one of the “contestants” had thought she was with the organization to be a secretary and keep track of where everyone was and what they were doing. Her smile grew as she thought the person had been partially right.
Brennan
Brennan listened and realized that Arianna cared for her brother. She just didn't want to fight with him. He also understood a little more about both of their protective streak where Tia was concerned. He thought about telling her about Tarik having told the girl the truth about her medallion.
Instead he just nodded.
Brennan listened but something behind him kept grabbing his attention. Putting his hand behind him to find out what kept touching his back, Bren felt the paper. Using the tips of his fingers as to not mess with any prints, the Hit Wizard grabbed the paper.
What surprised him as he glanced at it was that it was addressed 'The Dawson Brat'. Bren wondered how somebody could have known that he was even being considered much less that he would have joined.
Opening the note and quickly reading it, the fury showing in his eyes.
Brennan,
Like father, like son
he didn't chose wisely.
Rethink your decision!
I have plans
for you young one.
And they are
not you working with her.
Choose or I will!
I will be watching as always
and I better like what I see!
For your family's sake!
We will be speaking Again!
Brennan refolded the paper and placed it in his pocket. He was furious as he never liked threats. This sender had just made his joining a done deal. Brennan would show this group that he could be an asset.

Richard
Seth smiled as he said, "Rich, if anybody is boss of this group it would be a certain woman. I know the rules of this group as do you. ……. But yea, you arrived first, Rich."
(Arianna) Turning to Richard all she said was “Richard” and nodded. She backed up and leaned against the wall, taking up a position where she would be behind the door if it opened.
Arianna
Richard smiled when Ari arrived. She was the most beautiful woman he had ever met. They had worked together in concerns about her family, and that was where he had learned of her bravery, cunning and abilities to run a large secret group. Richard nodded back, “Ari, do I get a point for beating you to the meeting?” Adding a very large smile to the question, he continued, “looks like we have a problem. I have checked the standard locks, only team members can enter at the moment. Let me know when you need me to do something else.”
Seth said jokingly, "Ari, why was it again that the team code-named me "Boss"? That should have been yours as you probably recruited every single one of us. If you want, Ari while we wait for the others,
Looking over at Seth, Ari smiled brightly, “Ah Boss, I think that is the perfect name for you.
Check the hidden spots for the team's stuff?"……..Seth cringed again because he knew that they would not like at all what they found. It had been another reason he had called them. That reason was because of what he had not found and that meant the team had a Major Problem that affected them all...
Seth
Looking over at Seth, Ari smiled brightly, “Ah Boss, I think that is the perfect name for you. You know as well as I do, there are people in even our little group or those I am thinking of adding, who do not look kindly on working for a woman, present company exempt from that statement. Seth snickered as he said jokingly, "Sorry I ask."
Talking to both Richard and Seth, she said, “They have the codebook, so we immediately switch to the oldest one, until I have a new one made. Richard, there should be a finder signal on that book, so see what you can do there. Seth, you need to make sure everyone is up to date on coding and it will be up to you to keep track of our progress.” Looking around at the carnage one more time, Ari added, “Now we wait until others have arrived...
They reappeared in the middle of what could only be described as the aftermath of a tornado. Hearing Ari's words, Franco said, "If they got that, then it won't take them long to figure out who we each are. Oh and thanks for the call, we were winning."
Seth cringed as he listened to Air. Also seeing that still only two of the Spellman’s were on the team, Seth asked, "Have you decided on the other three yet, Air? It might make it easier for Mr. Chameleon there. And Cooler would not have to figure something out every time."
Looking around he saw the rest of the mess and said, "Please tell me that is all they have. And where is Fox? Ain't this his call?"
Seth shook his head.
Pippin knocked and opened the door slightly saying, “Hello, Dear, it is Auntie.” Not letting on to what she saw, she finished, as she closed the door. “I have your treats.”

Ari
(Ari) Talking to both Richard and Seth, she said, “They have the codebook, so we immediately switch to the oldest one, until I have a new one made. Richard, there should be a finder signal on that book, so see what you can do there. Seth, you need to make sure everyone is up to date on coding and it will be up to you to keep track of our progress.” Looking around at the carnage one more time, Ari added, “Now we wait until others have arrived...........Seth said as calmly as he could, "It is not the only thing we have to assume they got. The list is also gone. It was the first thing I checked. Also, if you check the compact, the light isn't blinking which means... if it recorded then they wiped it."
He nodded as he remembered the book she was talking about. He hated to give even more bad news. Taking a deep breath, "Air, that book disappeared right before me and William went into hiding. If you remember, that is why the new book. Maybe one of the others can come up with something quick?"
Seth cringed as he listened to Air. Also seeing that still only two of the Spellman’s were on the team, Seth asked, "Have you decided on the other three yet, Air? It might make it easier for Mr. Chameleon there. And Cooler would not have to figure something out every time."
(Seth) Brennan has been invited to join the team. Since this is his first mission, hence the Code-name Grasshopper. You all know the rules, so I will let somebody else explain them to Grasshopper."
Richard
(Ari) Talking to both Richard and Seth, she said, “They have the codebook, so we immediately switch to the oldest one, until I have a new one made. Richard, there should be a finder signal on that book, so see what you can do there…”
Nodding Richard, said, “I will get right on it Air. I know which one to look for because it would be special to the family, right?” Richard did not expect an answer because it would be the only logical tracer codes to use. Richard had worked with Arianna’s family on private matters and there were a set of security measures there also.
Then looking at them all, Seth continued, "About forty minutes ago, I got the signal that Fox had left his office without doing all the steps. I came here. Saw this room in the state you now see it. Checked the spots. Notified You!"
“Now for our newest member, Brennan welcome.” Turning in the rookies direction she commented, “Nice nick name. You could possible earn another, but for now it will do. Brennan this group was formed to take care of problems which could get wrapped up in red tape. We answer to no one in any other organization. I am going to pair you up with Richard, because you work at the same place and can come up with multiple reasons to be in each other’s company.” Smiling momentary at Richard, before she brought her gaze back to Brennan, she continued, “Listen and learn from him……”
Richard cringed slightly and hopefully not noticeably, because he did not like teaming.
Pippin
(Pippin) “Well, it looks like someone has been busy cluttering up the place. Anyone checked through this mess yet?” Pippin would have started to straighten by not all the team was present, so she did not want to disturb what could be evidence
Seth smiled and said, "Auntie, that is an understatement. And no, you know the rules. Only the places pertaining to the team are check until the whole team is here. And believe me; nobody is going to be happy when Air reveals that report."
Seth smiled and said, "Auntie, that is an understatement. And no, you know the rules. Only the places pertaining to the team are check until the whole team is here. And believe me; nobody is going to be happy when Air reveals that report."

(Arianna) “Auntie, can you roam around the Ministry for a day or so? You have a knack of picking up little tidbits, which eventually add together into a piece of the puzzle. If you cannot locate Seth then let Lucas know if you need anything” Ari smiled at Lucas because she knew he was a lot more capable of an Auror than he had let on in the organization. He tended to use his “supposed” inabilities to have people tell him things and explain situations. From the explanation he was able to gleam information the other person did not realize they had given out.
“Now for our newest member, Brennan welcome.” Turning in the rookies direction she commented, “Nice nick name. You could possible earn another, but for now it will do. Brennan this group was formed to take care of problems which could get wrapped up in red tape. We answer to no one in any other organization. I am going to pair you up with Richard, because you work at the same place and can come up with multiple reasons to be in each other’s company.”
Bren nodded though he had a feeling that it was not because he was new that the older member was being teamed with him. He wondered how many of the team had been informed of his "gun-ho attitude" as Seth called it.
Smiling momentary at Richard, before she brought her gaze back to Brennan, she continued, “Listen and learn from him.”
Again Bren nodded and then turned to Richard.
“Well, Grasshopper, it looks like we are working together. All I ask if you see something out of the ordinary you let me know immediately, no matter how trivial. The little details can get you killed. Understood?” Richard had to change some of his plans in his head.
Brennan nodded as he said reading a piece of paper that had just caught his attention, "You mean like maybe a note address 'To The Caretaker' and unsigned? I thought nobody knew about this group."
“We do not have a lot of rules. Do not take it for granted because of a relationship one of the people have in this room, someone else at the school knows.”
Brennan listened to the lady that seemed to be in charge. Bren smiled as he said jokingly, "I thought nothing got passed that Medjai?"
Arianna was hoping Brennan got her point especially about Tarik, her brother and Sasha’s fiancé. She would mention to Richard later to drive home the point before they returned to the school. “Do not talk of it on school grounds or even hint there is such a group. That means silence also at any place of employment anyone in this group works at, unless you are specifically told by that person, you can mention anything.”
Then Franco said to Greene, "Maybe Grasshopper's code-name should be Magpie? Since Air gave him to you, Be gentle my friend; But Put Him Straight before He Puts Another Target on that Girl's Back!" As long as Tia was searching for answers, Shadow thought that he was free and clear. Franco had seen him that night but he had told nobody except Neo and Greene. Franco was not about to let Brennan get Shadow thinking the girl's memory was back.
(OCC: Seth, Tia, Tarik, Sasha are a few of my many characters. Jane, you get to say what was in the note. Fox though is not mentioned or the sender. Khalid is.)
Richard
(Richard) “Well, Grasshopper, it looks like we are working together.
Brennan nodded as he said reading a piece of paper that had just caught his attention, "You mean like maybe a note address 'To The Caretaker' and unsigned? I thought nobody knew about this group."
"How many times do I need to say sorry about talking to Tia about you guys? I never gave names, but I hate that look in her eyes. You know the one she gives when she knows that she is being kept in the dark. That girl hates secrets.", Brennan said trying to get them to understand.
Ari
One final word of warning Grasshopper,” Ari put the sternest look on her face she could manage, “only, I repeat only, the School staff in this room knows anything about the Caretaker Group. Do not take it for granted because of a relationship one of the people have in this room, someone else at the school knows.”
Brennan listened to the lady that seemed to be in charge. Bren smiled as he said jokingly, "I thought nothing got passed that Medjai?"

He looked over at Ari, folded the note in half and handed it to her. Then returning to his original spot, this time standing,
Ari, looked at the note, the handwriting seemed familiar, but she could not place it. She slid it into the pocket of her jacket to check out thoroughly later, and turned to listen to Richards’s explanation to Brennan.
Then Franco said to Greene, "Maybe Grasshopper's code-name should be Magpie? Since Air gave him to you, be gentle my friend; But Put Him Straight before He Puts Another Target on that Girl's Back!"

“I have a puzzle for you, with everyone’s permission,” Richard knew he would have that permission because the puzzle had been used before on a couple of the members. “Everyone in this room has a specialty. Some specialties may be figured out by the person’s codename, and some not.

He looked over at Ari, folded the note in half and handed it to her. Then returning to his original spot, this time standing, he explained to Brennan, “My code name is Caretaker. That note was for me.” Looking back at Ari he continued, “Someone knew I would be in this office today. If there is a problem the group needs to know about, I will use the usual channels to get the information to everyone.”
Smiling and trying not to laugh out loud, Ari thought back on the results of some of the other members with the puzzle.
Brennan smiled as this was his area of specialty. He watched people and learned a lot. Looking around as he believed that he already had the answer. Still smiling, Brennan said calmly, "I will give my answer to your puzzle now, Caretaker. I will start with you. Your specialty is that you find out things, most likely facts. Though you also take care of things or problems.
Next is Boss, might be old enough in looks but he is not the true leader of the group. He is just the first one called. The true leader is Air. She moves like Air and stays mostly in the background. Most I bet mistakenly think she is harmless. That is her edge. The fact that most worry about everybody else in the group and yet she recruited everybody. She is probably older than she looks. If I had you guys after me, she would be the one I would deal with first. No offence but I would only have one shot at her and that is if I saw her before she saw me.
Next is Protector. He might be a council member but he has all the skills of a Top field Auror. He also is one of the protectors of Tia. His specialty is that he is a protector of secrets. Changeling because he is an Animagus. His form can keep him from being noticed by most. Charity is just that. Her specialty is her Cafe. One a safe haven but also she insures that everybody is well feed. She can get a lot of information by just listening. Huntress, is probably just as her name implies. My money is that when we find Fox, she will be the one to go get him. I also would not want to be the people holding him when she does.
Saint I believe it is because his disguises are flawless that very few would be able to recognize him. Raven is called that because she has all the qualities of the Raven. She knows things and what she doesn't she finds out. She is probably one of the smartest ones here and deadliest. Hate to say it, she would be Target 2 on my list. Target 3 would be Cooler. He might look cool and nice, but I have seen him in action. He has skills in all forms of martial arts and weapons. He can kill and then right afterwards ask for a milk. He is also the only one that can handle any of his brothers.
Then there is Auntie but I would watch my words around her. I also would not assume that her limp would prevent her from taking somebody out. It also works to her advantage as most think she is easy prey. Their mistake and one that wizards don't live to make twice.
Finally the member that is missing, Explorer. He is the location specialist."
Brennan didn't ask how he did. He looked at them and said calmly, "I know I messed up where Tia is concerned. The thing is we are asking her to trust us and yet we are giving her very little trust in return. I would rather her get information from us than from Shadow. All I am asking is that we give her the same courtesy that we show Tarik. FYI, Tarik has already told her about some of it. Though I agree that it is safer that her memory is gone about certain things. Mostly she was wondering who I worked for so I told her. She needs to know that if she comes to us about something that we will answer her truthfully. Even if all we tell her about a question is the reason why we can't tell her. I won't lie to her and neither will Tarik. We don't have to tell her everything, we just should not lie to her. I think that hurts her more than what he has done."
Brennan hoped that his honesty would help to keep him with the group.
Ari
Ari watched her young protégée. She knew he was keeping information from her, but she would wait to see how long it took him to divulge the information, hoping it was not really important. Later she would talk to Richard and stress the point of telling Brennan about deciding what facts to keep to himself and what to tell. For now she just listened.
It was not hard to catch the fact; Brennan picked up a piece of paper read it and then put it in his pocket. He did not really try and hide what he was doing, but he did not consider himself really part of the group yet, because he did not even ask about showing the paper. He had not learned yet, anything and everything in the office was evidence. Until her cleaning crew could sift through the papers and other object strewn around the room, they had to be very careful. She looked over to Richard, caught his eye and then looked back at the room. Richard would check into the note as soon as he could. The rest of the group had also seen her look, so Ari was not worried about anyone saying anything in the office, until it could be checked out. The group trusted each other, but Brennan was new and still unsure of his place, so mistakes would have to be watched for and taken care of if made while he was in training.
Ari had taken one prerogative though, she had not shown her note. It was on the floor near the back of the door. Apparently whoever was delivering the notes, knew the place she would stand. Mentally she made the decision to change some of her habits. Her note which she had safely tucked away in her pocket along with Richards said:
My dearest Arianna,
Why do you insist on leading your group to their deaths?
Tell your minions to stop and go home.
Protect the children if you can.
Oh by the way the red dress you wore the other day does not flatter you.
The note was unsigned. Ari had only worn the red dress for two hours and only on the school grounds. She had wanted to see if she wanted to keep it or give it away. Now it looked like the group was being pinpointed.
“Brennan, we try not to lie to anyone about what we do. You need to be careful about bringing up subjects to those outside his group. Tia is smart and Tarik is smarter, so just watch your words carefully.”
“Richard would you like to say something?” The look on his face was pleasure. Apparently he had discovered one of the main reasons Ari had recruited Grasshopper.
Richard
Richard watched as Brennan read the note and became more upset by the second. He just stuck it back in his pocket, without acknowledging to a room full of people who he had to know had seen what he did, he was taking a piece of evidence and keeping it. The atmosphere in the room became questionable. Richard tried not to over react, the boy was new.
When he saw the look on Ari’s face he knew he was being given the chance to teach a lesson. The lesson would come later, in his office. Richard nodded once, to let Ari and the rest of the room know he would make it one of the top priorities. These lessons were not like what he was teaching in the school. There if a student did not learn, you could go over it again and again, until it sunk in. The lessons he would be teaching Brennan, would allow for one try at getting his point across, and if they did not stick, the boy could be killed and possibly take any number of the group with him. Richard ran his hand through his hair. He would have to plan carefully.
“Grasshopper, as Air has explained we do not lie to people. We may keep information or bits of information from some people, but we do not lie. You will learn as we go along. If you have questions on whether you should say something, do not say anything. Your mind will usually tell you if something is alright to divulge or keep to yourself. Listen to your gut instinct, it could save your life.” Richard made sure he had Brennan’s total attention as he gave his little speech.
Smiling he continued. “Now ladies and gentlemen,” he looked around the room and then back to Brennan, “With that superb analysis I think we have discovered that Grasshopper is the wrong name for our newest recruit.” Continuing to smile, he added, “I think we will call him Sherlock from this point on. Apparently he is very good at deducing things from small bits of information. So, Sherlock welcome to the group.” Richard reached out and offered Brennan his hand.
Brennan
Brennan nodded though still not liking it.
Brennan's instinct was telling him that the groups needed to not only know about the note but also about the problem concerning the Wright twins. He had checked St. Mungo's for Ashley and she was not there. That meant his uncle and aunt had lied. That had concerned him as no one had seen Ashley since Christmas break. This term her twin Seth Lucas was avoiding him. The boy also seemed lost and just not himself.
Bren was shocked.
The young hit wizard smiled as his hand went to his pocket. With two fingers, he retrieved the note. Bren said as he handed Greene the note, "I got a note as well. Though if the sender knows me this well, then he should have known that threats just make me furious. Also have any of you noticed that something is up where my cousins the Wright twins are concerned? The reason I asked is because Ashley Wright is not at St. Mungo's like my aunt and uncle said. I also know that my father gave them something for safe keeping. They were suppose to find and give it to Tarik but have not as of yet. I asked Tarik and he said he had received nothing from them. He also said that Seth Lucas had been missing his class all term."
Richard
Richard was pleased to see the young Sherlock was learning fast. If he was about to keep his level of intake up, he would make a fine addition to the group. Although most of the people in the group were superb analysts, they did not have someone who specialized in the field. If Brennan could learn when to talk, and when not to talk, and how much information was safe to give outside the group, then they would have a new weapon in their arsenal of knowledge.
Richard smiled broadly as he watched Brennan pull out the note from his pocket. Taking it he said thank you and read it to the group.
Looking around the room, he made sure all had heard. Richard smiled slightly, because he could tell each of the members was digesting the information, and each was working on how it could be used in their line of expertise. Turning back to Brennan he said, “You are learning fast, Bren. “
Richard looked over at Ari and realized she was up on the information. He also looked over to where Seth sat and tried to say I am sorry without speaking about his grand-daughters disappearance. He knew it was safe to say, “Ashley Wright is missing and we have people looking for her. Seth, or Luke, as he likes to be called has one of the medallions but has not decided on whether he should turn it over yet to Tarik. The student group known as the Allies are staying pretty tight lipped about the whole situation. Oh and Brennan, do not discount that group because they are young. They are a bright group. Just try and help with protection when you can. I am confident they will open up soon.” Richard was working on staying friends with Tia Andreas, who was sort of the leader of the group, because he needed to know at least some facts which would let him draw conclusions on the possible places and people they had to protect.
“Brennan, tell Tarik what you think he should know, although you will have to come up with a very plausible explanation on how you obtained the information, because the man has his own form of intuition, and do not forget direct knowledge of this group is off limits in any conversation.” Richard handed the note to Ari and looked around the room to see if anyone had any questions or if other subjects needed to be brought up.
Charitee Charms
Charitee had sat quietly through the meeting so far. Earlier that day, she had opened the Café, to a busy crowd from the start of the day. There seemed to be a lot of business floating through Diagon Alley and her Café was one of the few places to eat, so most of the shoppers and travelers stopped in. For Charitee it was also a very good way to gather information. She had made a mental note to talk to some of the other shopkeepers to compare notes.
Walking into the kitchen she glanced up the steps to her private apartments and at the top of the steps a little man was sitting in a very large leather chair. Charitee did not say a word, just nodded at the little man, who promptly left the chair as she ascended the steps to change. She tried never to wear her café clothes outside of the Alley. Putting on a comfortable pair of slacks and a loose fitting button blouse she apparated to the Ministry Ministers office.
It only took her a second to take in the mess. Although her hand instinctively went to where her wand was, the presence of the other Caretaker Group stopped her short. She looked around, saluted Seth and Ari, with a two finger salute and joined Pippen on the couch.
From that point on she stayed quiet taking in all of the discussion, until now:
“Richard,” Charitee started, “The Allies are making plans for something. Most of them stop by the Café on their way to school and on their way back to their homes.” Charitee had become increasingly worried about some of the snippets of information. “I have made inquires with some of the other shopkeepers on Diagon Alley and we all think the same thing. The Allies think they can make a difference in the fight against the Dark Wizards. I am sure they are not studying the Dark Arts, but they are in mass trying to learn any and every spell which will counter a Dark Arts spells. If this information gets out, then it makes them even more of a target than they are. All the shopkeepers are on high alert for even strangers coming into the area.” Charitee would have to remember later to tell Richard or Brennan about the man Tia was sitting with in her Café the day the students caught the train to Hogwarts. She was not sure of the connection between Tia’s problems and the other things happening.
“Also since we are all bringing up notes this,” Charitee reached into her shirt pocket and brought out a small slip of paper, “was on my table at the Café, before I opened this morning. I think maybe I have received my greetings.” Charitee floated the note to Arianna, as she recited it from heart to the group.
Ari
Brennan listened and realized that Arianna cared for her brother. She just didn't want to fight with him. He also understood a little more about both of their protective streak where Tia was concerned. He thought about telling her about Tarik having told the girl the truth about her medallion.
Instead he just nodded.
Instead he just nodded.
Ari watched her young protégée. She knew he was keeping information from her, but she would wait to see how long it took him to divulge the information, hoping it was not really important. Later she would talk to Richard and stress the point of telling Brennan about deciding what facts to keep to himself and what to tell. For now she just listened.
Brennan refolded the paper and placed it in his pocket ………

It was not hard to catch the fact; Brennan picked up a piece of paper read it and then put it in his pocket. He did not really try and hide what he was doing, but he did not consider himself really part of the group yet, because he did not even ask about showing the paper. He had not learned yet, anything and everything in the office was evidence. Until her cleaning crew could sift through the papers and other object strewn around the room, they had to be very careful. Brennan,
Like father, like son
he didn't chose wisely.
Rethink your decision!
I have plans
for you young one.
And they are
not you working with her.
Choose or I will!
I will be watching as always
and I better like what I see!
For your family's sake!
We will be speaking Again!

Charitee,
Seems you have been giving more away than just food.
Information is not on your menu.
Stick to food for the belly.
Poisons can be placed in all items even information.
Will be placing my special order soon! /
“As you can see the note is unsigned. The doors to the Café were locked and the building was secure. It was not on the table the night before when I turned off the last light.” Charitee, as with the other shops had been taking special precautions to secure the Alley down at night as best they could. There were always people on the street, from either the Shadow Lounge, The Leaky Caldron or coming out from Knockturn Alley when sensible people were home in bed.
Charitee settled back on the couch to wait to see if there were any special orders for her or the small group set up to watch the Alley. Her Diagon Alley group did not know of the existence of the Caretaker group, but they were willing to believe Charitee had connections to others.
