Tia Learns Many Unwanted Lessons (Mathew’s Castle)
(Combined threads from previous site)
(OOC: Continuation of The Training of Frank Cole (Markus Island))
DAMIR
"Tamir...."
"Yes Lord Damir." His brother walked up and bowed.
"Take this pet, to the room at the end of the hall. Have her seated in the machine. I will be there in a moment."
"Yes Lord Damir." A huge smile took over Tamir's face. The man loved to watch people squirm in the chair. He fed off the fear or the victims. This girl was new to the whole process which meant the fear would skyrocket. He watched as she was led away, fighting every step. Tamir was pulling her along, barely letting her get her footing on the rock floor. Damir turned back in time to see Cole show a want to go and help the girl, before he swallowed hard and took up the previous pose. The feelings were deep. "So Pet, you appear to be apprehensive about placing the girl in the machine. It has helped you to understand your best possible future. Why are you worried about her?"
"I am only worried the female's body might not take the conditioning."
"That is a lie, Pet. I think you will come and observe the process. You will be able to see for yourself her reactions. I do not want her damaged, but she must learn to obey, for her own good and well being."
Damir started toward the hall leading to the machines room. He looked back and Cole stood still. "You will come Pet. You will assist me in helping the girl learn her future." Two guards walked up behind Cole. He looked at them, lowered his head and slowly shuffled forward. "If you are good I may even let you ask some of the questions." Damir planned on hooking Cole up in the auxiliary seat. He would join Tia and Cole together. If Cole reacted badly to the questions asked of the girl, he would learn Tia would suffer more. Damir shook his head as he walked down the hall. This was just too easy.
When they reached the room Tamir was fighting to get the girl strapped down. Damir looked at Cole and said, "Assist him. I want her strapped down quickly." When Cole hesitated, Damir added, "Either you do it or I will have the two guards do it and they will not care to make it easier on the girl."
Cole walked up to the chair and held Tia down while Tamir finished with the straps. Tamir ran his hands down the side of her face and placed one hand on top of her head. He was feeding on the fear which was radiating off the girl.
Damir looked at the technician and said, "Ten minutes at level three. I want her to survive this. I also want level two questions asked." Damir had been playing with some of the components of the machine. With some of the new settings, he could ask questions of the subject and get actually pictures of their thoughts, even if the subject tried to shut down. Damir had some questions which were going to give him some good information. Damir nodded to the technician and then went to lean against the wall so he could watch the monitor.
TIA
Tia felt the slap but glared at the traitor as she shook her head saying, “If you really think that I will ever even listen to a Traitor, Then you are in for a very rude wake-up call Traitor!” Her own protectors had a hard time with her. Tia was surprised though that she was not considering her usual two choices, running or going inside.
Smiling as she whispered, “Instead I have chosen to fight for my friends. It reminds me of my choice that first year. Instead of running away from Duskheart, several of us chose to stand and fight to save a friend.” Tia smiled as she thought of that fight with the leader of the centaurs as the start of the Core. She had learned several lessons that day and was just praying that it was enough to keep this battle from ending the same.
Tia spit in his face as she said, “Try and my husband will teach you Traitor the same lesson he taught his older brother!” She wished she had let Landon take out those who had come to the school with Bren and Marco. Tia looked towards Fixer knowing why she had instead signaled her husband and Moon’s mate Cliff to stay hidden. The princess had felt something was not right. When the cloaked man had grabbed her to get Luke to comply, Tia thought only to keep the rest of the Core safe. She had made a judgment call and like always Landon had become plan B.
Tia’s heart sank as she realized the Traitor was at least smart enough not to drop the shield. “I just have to hope that whoever is coming is somebody I can strike a deal with. I need to protect the others even if it means I deal with our captors alone.” Inwardly the princess was unsure if she could willingly make a deal with her captors.
Tia looked at Fixer as she thought, “To save the others, I like Marcus and Fixer will do what is needed! At least by my death, the Dark One’s fate is sealed. No more Guardians, means no more chances. My only regret is Landon will blame himself as will Tarik and Lance. Tarik, is this why you chose to stop translating the runes, Did it foretell my failure? That my own protectors would have to take me out to save the future?” Tia glared at the traitor knowing she would insure after her freeing her friends, she would insure the traitor died before her.
She heard a female’s voice, “Princess, you are seeing only two solutions, where we see many. This is only a small moment in time. Patience Princess, not all is lost yet as the PACT has friends even here on their enemy’s turf. We will talk again, as you have shown that a dream and ideal is worth the risk.” Tia slightly smiled wondering just who had risk mentally chatting with her. She looked forward to meeting this MacIntosh female that considered the PACT members as friends. Tia glanced at Fixer wondering if he had heard the mental chat she had just had.
Tia fought as Tamir tried to force her into what looked like an iron chair. She fought even though Fixer held her arms down. The man called Tamir strapped her wrist down tightly to the arms of the chair. As she fought to break free, Tia said trying to bury the fear swelling inside, “What are you planning Traitor? I will tell you nothing now or ever!”
Tia felt her legs and feet as they were imprisoned in high boot type devices, which were closed and tightened around her legs like vices. Tia’s chest had two wide straps across it fastened to the point it became very hard to take a deep breath. She started inwardly panicking as she said, “If You think imprisoning me in here will hold me...or others from finding us....You know nothing Traitor!”
Around Tia’s neck, she felt a tight collar which Tamir locked into a piece of metal which ran from the back of the chair to a head strap which had been placed around her forehead. Inwardly true fear had made it nearly impossible to think. She had to get out of this chair but no matter how hard Tia tried she could no longer move. She glanced at Fixer with true fear as she felt Tamir’s hands. She tried to bury the fear as Tia somehow knew Tamir like Darrell relished in her fear. “Whatever you are Planning Traitor I will fight it! You will learn Magi don’t break! I will tell you nothing!” Tia said praying she could really hold out against whatever the cloaked man had in mind for her.
Another tech walked up to her with his hand holding two needles. He bowed to the traitor as he handed Tamir one of the needles pointing to Fixer. He pulled out a blue green bottle from his pocket. Tia tried not to listen as the tech asked, “And her dose my Lord? Or do you wish the honor?”
Tia tried desperately to keep the needle away. She thought of Luke and feared she was about to learn firsthand why Luke was a Code Red. “You are not sticking me like you did Luke at the Shack! I Am Not Nor Will Ever Be Your Pet! Neither are my friends!” Tia said as she fought to insure whatever was in that needle would not enter her system.
She started to feel dizzy as the whole chair started to move. Soon the fifteen year old found herself lying flat on a hard metal slab. She was terrified as a full body length tube came down over her. The last thing she heard before the darkness engulfed her was the tech bowing before saying, “ Yes Lord Damir! And the drug? Do you wish the machine to continue dosage or do you want control of that part of her sessions?”
The tech knew the young girl would be easier then Fixer to break especially with the new drug that his lord had recently created. He looked at his master as he said, “My Lord, we are ready to begin. Any suggestions on where in her past we should begin, my Lord?”
COLE
Cole took a step forward, but his arms were grabbed by the guards following him. A glare from Damir and Tamir told him he better not interfere. He looked at the floor. If Tia didn't learn soon, that she was fighting a battle she couldn't win, Cole was afraid she would seriously be injured. He had never seen anyone have the nerve or death wish to spit in Damir's face. Just disagreeing with the werewolf could get you tortured for hours.
Tia's marriage to Landon was supposed to be a secret. Wasn't it? In his past life he had helped the young couple get married, but he didn't think it was supposed to be general knowledge. Everyone at the time had decided it was too much of a risk that the two could be used against each other. Damir would pick up on that fact. Cole hoped Tia had not just sealed her and Landon's fate. He settled back in to as much of a relaxed pose as he could. The guards dropped their hands.
Cole was having a hard time rationalizing the voices in his head. This time it was a female voice and he knew somehow the speaker was close. This meant there was someone on the island the Master would consider a spy. But he had no direct information, so he decided to wait until he could see if he could find the person, who was trying to talk with Tia.
Tamir pointed toward the auxiliary chair. Cole's eyes shot to Damir. Damir didn't say a word just stared at him. Slowly Cole lowered himself into the chair. He knew both chairs were connected. He would be able to feel what Tia felt and if Damir allowed it she would be able to feel what he felt. Cole was not sure he could hide his reactions. For some reason a relationship existed with the young female which was making him jittery. His brain kept sending him pictures of his past, pictures Lord Damir would not approve of. Pictures of things Lord Damir had proven to him were wrong.
Cole settled back in the chair, he had no choice. Lord Damir would explain everything to him. Once Tia realized she needed to trust Lord Damir, life would be sweet.
Coles eyes went to the bottle which the tech was using to fill the two needles. He knew about that drug. No one had been able to fight its effects. If you were asked a question, you had to answer it truthfully. If you fought answering the question the drug would cause your fear to physically manifest itself delivering pain to your body. The more you fought the more pain. You soon learned to not fight and just answer the question.
Cole took a couple deep breaths and swallowed hard, as Lord Tamir walked toward him, testing the flow of the drug in the needle. He fought to stay still. He had not been strapped down, but he knew he would be if he fought what Lord Damir wanted done. He watched Lord Tamir stick the needle in his arm and push down the plunger. Cole turned his head and looked at the ceiling. The drug acted fast. He could already feel in running cold through his veins.
Cole turned his head and watched the vision tube lowered over Tia. It would distance her from where she was. Scenes would be shown on its walls, surrounding her with the world Lord Damir wanted her to experience. Scene's of her present life would float around her and pain would be added to the mix. The pain would intensify if she fought.
Scene's would be presented showing a good life on the island. It would show how happy the people were to serve Lord Damir. A euphoria, was usually induced at this point. The scenes would switch from one world to the other, from pain to pleasure, at an ever increasing speed. As Tia started to accept the message, more pleasurable scenes would appear than those causing pain.
The view screen in front of Cole would show him what the scenes were, the level of pain or pleasure Tia was feeling and her expression. He was there to monitor her, but he also realized he was there to help her decide the right road to follow, the road to following Lord Damir's orders. It would not take long for Lord Damir to get the information he required. Her friends would be in danger.
Cole started to feel a low level of pain, running through his system. As he fought not to feel it, the pain increased. He was starting to breath hard. Why? Because he was starting to think about how others would be in danger. That was not his job. He forced himself to mentally and physically relax, slowly lowering the pain level. He got a glimpse of Tia's face. She was reacting to his reaction. Cole moaned... his reactions were being used to give her increased pain or pleasure. Cole opened and closed his hands, trying to find the calm he didn't totally feel.
DAMIR
Damir stared at the girl. His mind had only partially registered the fact she had spit into his face. He took the towel from the tech and wiped the spittle away. No one had ever done that before. As his eyes left the girls face he looked slowly around the room. The only ones who had moved even a muscle was Cole, and the guards who grabbed him.
Damir straighter up and put his hand around the girls neck. He knew he was cutting off some of her air. "You will pay for that little demonstration later, Pet. When you call me Master, I will make you regret your rude behavior. "And thank you for the information." Damir released his hand and chuckled. He wasn't sure the girl realized she had just told him Landon needed to come to the island for a little family reunion with her. Damir loved it when he could play one person off on another, each trying to protect the other. His day just got brighter.
Damir saw a subtle shift cross Cole's face. Since the treatments the man had lost his ability to hid all of his emotions. Something had given his pet a moment of worry. Cole was going to have to be put through the newest part of his machine. The man had been trained by elves, he was sure of it. The medical unit said, he had elfin blood in his veins. Damir wondered if that was helping to block the programming. He would just have to keep taking Cole deeper, documenting his findings. It would help later with the elves he was sure.
Damir smiled as he stood watching. The girl was making a valiant try at trying to act brave. Unfortunately she didn't have the experience to keep it up. He wondered who was training her. That would be a person he would love to talk to, maybe even put on the machine. It was interesting Tia kept glancing at Cole. He got the feeling she was expecting his Pet to jump in and save her, which of course was not going to happen. There was a deep connection between the two, which he could work with.
Damir could even feel the fear growing. The expression of pure pleasure on his brother's face told him, the girls fear was real and escalating. His brother was almost dancing in place. "Shhhh..... Pet. You will soon understand. But, let your fear flow.... it is enticing." Damir chuckled. "My brother is enjoying it, aren't you brother." Damir only received a nod, but it was enough to let him know his brother was flying high.
"You may administer the dosage. Three cc's should be enough to start. Her body is small so watch your read outs. If she dies, you die. If she goes too deep and you have not pulled her out, you will be punished after you figure out how to bring her back to the surface. Watch carefully or you will find yourself in the tube without the pleasure scenes."
Damir leaned against the wall and crossed his arms over his chest. Cole was fighting hard to stay in control. Cole would recognize the bottle as a drug which would assist the person using it to understand the truth. Damir was the only one to follow. Damir knew best. It was not hard to know when the drug started to flow through his Pet's veins. Cole had turned his eyes to the ceiling and was concentrating of just letting things happen. Damir had purposely not tied Cole down. He had two guards watching every movement of the man on a screen just outside the door. There was nothing in the room, Cole could use as a weapon.
Damir nodded to himself when he saw the realization hit Cole that his reactions could actually cause Tia greater pain. Of course if Cole really worked to help convince Tia she should be a little more pliable to Damir's ideas, then Cole would actually give her greater pleasurable feelings. This was the first actual trial of the auxiliary chair. The way Damir saw it each of the participants would help control the other, buy controlling their own reactions. The tech in the room and the one monitoring from the medical control room, had been told to document everything. Damir wondered how long it would take Cole to realize he could actually minimize Tia's pain. The pet was good so he would eventually figure it out.
At that point, the pain levels would be increased. If Cole stopped helping, then the pain levels would decrease. This was going to be very entertaining. Cole could choose to mitigate most of the pain and have it increased where it would be a losing battle for him or he could not help Tia fight the pain and have the pain gradually lessened. The choice would technically be Cole's on how much pain the girl felt.
"No. Give her the one dose then we will see. I don't want her catatonic. She just needs to learn to follow directions immediately. I will watch the screen and tell you if you need to push more into her system.?
Damir rubbed his chin. At another time he would go back to when Tia was very small. He had some information about her stay in an orphanage that would be nice to find out more details about. He also had some information about possible special wand the girl had. He didn't have the time at the present though to worry a lot about the past. "We are going to stay in the present with the girl. Get her to the point where she will answer questions for me. That shouldn't take you more than ten minutes." Damir looked over at Cole. "Pet you will monitor the girl on your screen. I know you will figure out how you can help." Damir couldn't hold back the laugh which escaped him.
He turned back to the tech and watched as the man turned some knobs and pushed some buttons. On an over head monitor, Damir had a view of Tia and Cole's faces. He also had pictures of what Tia was being shown. There was a section on the bottom of the screen, which showed the two subjects heart and breathing rates. It had a meter showing how much pain and pleasure both of them were feeling. Ideally, Tia's pain level should drop as Cole's forced his pleasure level higher, thinking good thoughts about Damir and his island.
"Cole can you understand me." He received a nod. "Help convince her Cole. Feel for her. Show her the truth." Cole's pleasure level spiked and Tia's pain level dropped a bit. The process was working.
Fifteen minutes later the tech looked at him and said, "She is ready for your first question, my Lord Damir."
Damir walked up to the mike on the control panel and asked, "Listen to my voice Pet, and answer me, you know you want to. I don't want you feeling pain. Who is the most important person in your life?" Damir had several of his people in position to grab people he thought she might name."
TIA

Luke cringed as he shook his head, “That is none of your business. Tia, you made a deal as I did in the shack.” Luke turned as much as he could towards Bren. “Brennan Dawson, Tell him nothing unless you want another chat like you had at the Hospital Wing or the MoM’s office!”
Both Tia and Bren laughed as Bren said, “You are right Luke and by the way welcome back from your mental safe point. Now shut it as I am not having Tia blaming herself for what is about to happen.”
Brennan looked from Luke to Tia as he started to speak...

The Clan Enforcer busted in and as the female elf came into view his heart dropped as he said, “I gather you are Moon, Grand Sire Tal’mac’s daughter and the Princess’ personal guard? Is your nephew Rub’ik here as well?”
Markus MacIntosh backhanded Damir as he said in a commanding voice, “Damir, you have better explain extremely fast cause not only am I furious but Grand Alpha Matthew has sent His Personal Shadow Hunters to return these elves to Grand Sire Tal’mac. You or whoever is responsible for their capture has gotten the elven Council furious and threatening all out war!”
He turned to the tech that came with the Shadow Hunters, “Do what you were ordered to do.”
The Shadow Hunters removed the collar off of Alec’s throat as one of them said, “Why are you a Shadow Hunter being held as a common slave?”
Alec just shrugged as he glanced at Damir. Alec smiled as he asked, “What are our orders from the Grand Alpha?”
COLE
Cole grimaced. The voices in his head were driving him crazy. Master Damir would not be happy if he gave into them, but they were so strong. A voice in the back of his brain kept telling him it would be all right and he needed to fight. But, which life was he supposed to fight for. According to Master Damir, the life he had lived once was made up of people just trying to control him. Master Damir was offering him a life where he didn't have to worry if people were trying to kill him or have him do something he now knew was wrong. Pictures of faces came into his head, a wise looking Elf and an older man. "The Gatherer" was a code name he had gone by in that other life. His head was beginning to throb.
Had he really trained the Master's pet. Had he given the wizard information or skills he could use against Master Damir. The Master would be furious, even though this had been done when Cole did not know the real truth, truths Master Damir said were right. But, how could everything he had done in the past be wrong. He knew he had helped people in trouble. Yes he had asked for payment for many of the things, but some he had done for free.
He looked over at the young girl named Tia. She was fighting the Master's truths. He even heard her voice in his head...
The girl held her own brand of honor close to her chest. She was giving in, but Cole knew it would not be permanent. When she was allowed to return to her other life, she would revert back to being her other self. When he saw Master Damir move the girl he almost said something. The voices in his head were telling him he needed to protect the boy. They just weren't telling him how to stop Master Damir from doing what he thought best.
DAMIR
Damir watched Cole. Something was going on in the man's head. He was standing relatively still but emotions were showing on his face that shouldn't be there. Damir knew Cole could convese with others through only mental thought. He wondered which of the people in the room he was "talking" too. He needed to get the Pet back on the machine soon and find out some answers.
The boy had spunk, Damir realized. It wasn't every young boy who could be there, with what was most definitely going to happen to him, and not beg to be set free. Damir knew some of that came from the boys nature, but some of it was also training he had received. The trainers were the ones Damir needed to talk with and control. The trainers would be his weapon to teach the young ones who they needed to follow and listen to.
Damir was stunned for a moment when the girl and Hit Wizard chuckled. Damir walked up to Brennan and slapped his back a couple of times, knowing he was causing pain because he didn't try to miss the abrasions on the wizards back. "You were not given permission to talk, Pet. And Tia is totally to blame for what is happening to you. If she had agreed to my earlier choice then you would probably be sitting comfortably wherever it is you like to sit. Because she fought me, you all are here.
Damir looked at Tia. "I do hope you have learned to not fight the inevitable, girl. See what it is doing to your friends?" Again Damir ran his hand over Luke's unmarked back. He felt the boy shiver. Damir added his nails to the rub and scratched deep, but not enough to break the skin. Sensitizing the boys skin, would only make the whip bite feel worse. Damir wanted the boy screaming and begging to be let down. He wanted the boy to beg Brennan to tell him whatever he wanted to know.
Damir just shook his head when he heard Brennan's answer. The boy was trying to tell him as little as possible, and that wasn't going to work.
Damir turned toward the front entrance as Markus bust in. Straitening his shoulders and standing to his full height he walked to the side of Luke ready to explain himself.

DAMIR
Moon nodded and bowed slightly. She wasn't sure who this new comer was, but by the way he carried himself and talked he was someone important. She hoped he was important enough to stop what was happening to her Mistress. "Yes my name is Moon in the Human language. Rub'ik, my nephew is still in the Hospital. The doctor said he was not done with him yet." She bowed low, taking a chance. "I would love to have him here with me, Master...."
The new man nodded but gave her no verbal answer. She watched as he walked to stand in front of the one wanting to be known as Master Damir.
Damir did not fall to the floor, but he stumbled back several steps. He stood straight, holding his cheek and lied. "The elves came with the girl. The female is some sort of servant to her. I know that the elves have been of great interest to the Clan. The Doctor has been able to discover information which will help in the future." Damir really did not understand? He knew the Clan wanted to control the Elves. How were they supposed to control something they had no information on. He hadn't even been able to put them on the machine yet. He wasn't about to bring up his toy though. As far as any others knew he just had a rough semi-working model and that's the way he wanted to keep it.
The tech nodded. "Yes, Lord Markus." He headed for the stairs to the highest point in the castle. It was his job to shut down the dampening system which enveloped the island. It would open the whole island up to possible invasion, but that was not his concern. The Lords would know how to handle whatever happened. He decided he would stay close to the machinery just in case he had to activate it quickly again and that would also keep him out of the problems coming up with the rest of what he had over heard before they got to the island.
Damir wanted to protest. Alec, might be a Shadow Hunter, but he was Damir's pet also. The boy was a valuable thing to have. The look on Markus' face told him he better keep his mouth shut and see what else was about to happen. He had been given free reign over the island. Now it was being taken away because of a couple no account elves, all because some other Elf thought he was above the MacIntosh Clan.
Kurthra stood looking at the young Shadow Hunter for a few moments. The boy... no man... was young but he had been told he was a good Shadow Hunter when he wasn't being controlled by Lord Damir. Apparently Lord Damir had decided to take Alec as a pet and use his abilities for his own personal gain. "We are to return the Elves to their Grand Sire, if we found them here. We are also supposed to send who ever brought the elves here," the Head Shadow Hunter glanced between Markus and Damir, then back at Alec, "to Grand Alpha Matthew or to Hogwarts in chains. My best guess is that the Elfin Grand Sire will be there waiting for whoever it is." Kurthra smiled, knowing what that would probably mean.
Damir cringed. The elves had actually come of their own accord, following stupidly with the humans they were supposed to protect. Technically he didn't bring them here.... he just sort of kept them... to study them for the Clan. Surely everyone could see that!
BRENNAN
Brennan’s eyes showed his fury at Damir trying to have Tia blame herself for what was happening. He glared at Damir saying, “I will not allow you to have Tia doubting herself, Traitor! Tia, You are not to blame, Damir is! When Fixer comes to his true self again, then and only then do you listen to his advice, understand Princess! Until that time Frank Cole and Marco are Code Reds, Understand they like Me are Code Reds!”
Tia cringed as she nodded, “Understood Brennan though I doubt you are a Code Red anymore.” Tia glanced at Fixer. The man was now classified a danger to not only her but all of the Core. She wanted to help him come back but first she had to find a loop hole in her bargain with Damir. Tia smiled as she thought, “It won’t be forever Gatherer just until you can get the new wand Darik is making you. Your’s I heard is very special as Tal’mac is having Darik change Darik’s hair for a lock of Tal’mac. The other cores are also changing though you will still have a hair of Julius and Duskheart. You will just have a couple of other cores added. I know he asked to chat will the head of the Fire Fairies, My cousin Gabriel, and even Natalie. I think it is due to a request you made concerning the last time you were a Code Red. Does it help you knowing the wand is made?” Tia prayed as she let the whip slip from her grip.
Tia glared at Damir as she said with a bite to her voice, “Yes Master, I understand perfectly what I must do!” Tia understood to protect those she cared about she would need to insure that Damir was never a threat to them.
Tia smiled as it seemed something had grabbed Alec’s attention. “What is it Alec?”
Alec smile widen as he said, “It looks like Matthew now knows of this place. Tia those are Grand Alpha Matthew’s Personal Shadow Hunters with uncle Markus. Quiet until I see what their orders are.” Alec hoped things were going uphill instead of downhill.
He made a quick chat to his blood brother Rub’ik, “Rub’ik be ready, Matthew sent Kurthra and the Shadow Hunters. Do you think your Grand Sire is behind Matthew’s actions? Could this be good or is Matthew ordering Death? I am scaried as I am one of Matthew’s Shadow Hunters...What if he has learned I won’t be changing during tomorrow’s full moon?” Alec was scared cause it would mean he would be feeder food.
Tia glared at the newcomers, “Leave Moon alone! You will not use her against her father Tal’mac! That goes double for...” She stopped as Alec said, “Tia, calm down at least until we find out how My Uncle Markus even learned they were being held here. Okay?”
Tia nodded as she said, “Sorry about my outburst but I don’t like my assistant being treated as they are property and worse treated as PETS! They will be treated with the Respect they deserve or those who Mistreat them will be dealing with Me! Do I Make Myself Clear!”
Alec shrugged as he explained, “Cousin Damir has infuriated Tia in how he has allowed them and her friends to be treated. I told you, Kurthra that the princess was special. You treat her friends and others with respect and even if you are an enemy, she will show you respect. A word of advice, Tia hates the word PET.” Alec was finally able to show his backbone as Kurthra was the head of the Shadow Hunters. Alec hoped that Kurthra had thought a lot about what Alec had told him concerning the beliefs of others. He also prayed Kurthra had kepted those talks just between them. “Cause if Kurthra told Matthew even a fraction of what I totally believe, I can be considered a traitor like Markus says Jonathan is. Which means Bill is feeder food.”
[/i]“Rub’ik want to have some fun? I doubt your grandfather Tal’mac wants the doctor here to have what he took from you, Moon, me and anybody else that carries elven blood, blood magic or Shadow magic, am I right Blood Brother? I think it needs to be dealt with as it looks like you and Moon are free. Matthew has been given a choice by Tal’mac. Either you and Moon are sent to him or the Elves and Clan are facing all out War...Matthew sent his Shadow Hunters to insure Uncle Markus complies. By the Way a newly bitten wolf who is a tech is on his way to the place where the Locking Down Shield is...Can you see that they can never force that tech to betray others? And help him as I think he is the same tech that dealt with the machine on Fixer’s island? You know the one that Darrel and his friend Vance Shaude threatened?”[/i]

Cole kept his eyes to the stone floor, but he couldn't keep his lips from twitching. Luke had a lot of courage. Somehow he knew this was the way it should be. he wondered if what Luke's mental safe point looked like. It would be interesting to find out. Both of the young men were trying to keep Tia from feeling guilty. He couldn't understand why she should feel guilty. Wasn't she doing what Lord Damir wanted?
The man was talking about him being a Code Red when he became his true self again. Lord Damir said he was already his true self. He chuckled to himself. He was never going back to that evil life again among the Wizards and the unbelievers.
Cole did allow his eyes to come up when the double doors leading to the outside, rapidly opened and several men walked in like they owned the place. Cole recognized the man in front as Markus, The Enforcer, of the MacIntosh Clan. This was possibly a good thing. Lord Markus did not seem to have the need for everyone to bow low to him. Oh, he expected the bows, but he didn't need to have you fear him, like Lord Damir did. Lord Damir actually considered you a real Pet, not human.
Apparently the Elf's were also important to Lord Markus. Master Damir was not going to like it if they were removed from his island. He watched as one of the men broke off from the group and headed outside, possibly to get Rub'ik from the Hospital Complex. Cole hoped the Elf could walk. That doctor could be mean and didn't care how much pain he caused. Cole knew because he had been on the receiving end of a couple of "examinations."
Cole took a step back, before he realized it could get him in serious trouble. Moving without permission was a punishable offense. Cole quickly realized Lord Damir had a bigger problem.
Lord Damir was in a whole lot of trouble with the head of the Clan.
Inwardly Cole chuckled. Lord Damir was telling the literal truth, but he was leaving out the fact he had trapped Tia into coming, and was thrilled the elves decided to come along. Cole knew Markus would take the word of Alec, because he was a Shadow Hunter. Cole was not looking forward to the days after everyone left. Life was going to be far from pleasant.
Cole knew what was up those stairs. He hoped Lord Markus would listen to the Shadow Hunter. Maybe somehow he could add Cole's protection into what the tech was seriously looking at happening.
The dampening unit was going to be shut down. The island would be opened again. Cole worried someone would come and force him to return to the life Lord Damir had said was evil. Would Lord Markus protect him if he asked? Cole knew that Lord Damir was in for a lot of trouble and probably wouldn't have time to protect his pets.
Cole watched what was happening in the room. Alec was now standing and talking to several of the other men. He wasn't even paying any attention to Lord Damir. Lord Damir's face was red with anger. He wanted to argue, but even Cole knew the look on Lord Markus' face told everyone in the room that was a dangerous thing to do.
Oh this was going to be interesting! Cole was worried that his whole world was about to fall apart. They were talking about sending the elves home, Alex was free as far as he could tell, and Lord Damir was very worried. If Lord Damir decided to take his anger out on someone, then Cole was going to be the likely candidate. The thought made him cringe.
Cole looked at the main door which opened allowing Rub'ik to hobble in. The Elf looked like he was in pain as he went to Moon and bowed slightly. He then turned and examined the room, his eyes stopping on Lord Markus. He bowed again and asked, "You sent for me?"
Cole took a chance and spoke up. "You and Moon are to return to your home, Rub'ik. I'm not sure where the rest of you are headed." Cole saw Luke and Brennan being taken down from the wall. Suddenly, both Rub'ik and Moon closed their eyes and took deep breaths. Moon walked over to Brennan and moved her hand over the boys back about an inch off the skin. The abrasions on Brennan's back slowly disappeared. The young man moaned but relaxed when they were gone. The dampening system must have been turned off.
MARKUS
Markus nodded to the female Elf. She was not afraid of him and that bothered him. The Clan was still learning about the Elvin population but only Lord Matthew had any real contact with them and that was through diplomatic talks with the Grand Sire. He waved his hand and sent one of the Shadow Hunters in search of the missing Elf.
Markus just shook his head. Damir was lying, he knew that for sure. At the moment all he hoped was the other elf was not too damaged, or Matthew would be fuming, and he definitely didn't want to be in the room when that happened.... again. He looked at Damir and smiled, "We will be able to find out from the elves, I am sure, how they came to be here. Matthew has given me orders that whoever brought them here should be sent to either him or to Hogwarts in chains." It was gratifying to see Damir cringe. The man was in trouble and knew it.
Turning to the tech, Markus said, "You have no reason to be worried. This is my island. I told Damir he could use it, but apparently I did not keep close enough track on what he was using it for. If anyone bothers you, they will answer to me and my own Shadow Hunters. You are under my protection. Markus turned to Damir, "I hope you understand what I am saying. If anything happens to the tech, double will happen to you and whoever tried to hurt him." Markus said to the room in general, "This man is now under my personal protection."
Markus watched the tech headed up the stairs. He would be turning off the dampening system and any other machinery which was working on the island. Markus was not totally sure what this would do, but Matthew had told him it would solve a lot of problems.
Markus just stared at Damir, daring him to say anything else. There was no reason a Shadow Hunter should be held captive. The boy ... man would have to have some new training and he would put another more experience Shadow Hunter to watch over Alec until he regained his confidence and could handle himself. Matthew would expect this. Alec being in the position he was in now, guaranteed him a place in Matthew's elite Shadow Hunter group. Markus needed the boy to think good of him. Matthew's Elite only answered to Matthew.
Markus chuckled. He watch Damir as Kurthra, Head of the Elite Shadow Hunters, explained to Alec what was about to happen. Markus hoped Damir would be the one in chains and he hoped Damir would be sent to Hogwarts eventually, where it was almost certain Grand Sire Tal'mac, the Elf, would be waiting for him. Markus barely held in the shudder when he thought of some of the things he had heard about how the Elves handled situations. Damir would be begging to be returned to Matthew.
Markus glanced around the room at the wizards, Damir had collected. His eyes stopped on one of them. The man was Frank Cole, a wizard and mercenary. The man was acting like Lord Damir was his Master. This was interesting because by all reports the man was strong, self-suficient and bowed to no man. Markus didn't have the time at the moment though to find out why the wizard was acting the way he should. He decided to send all of the wizards to Matthew and let him straighten it out.
Markus' hand went to his sword. Matthew was going to be irate when he saw the condition of the male Elf. The female was not bad, but the male had blood on his clothes and he was not walking right. His face was swollen in a couple of places and there was some bruising. He stood there staring at the Elf, trying to figure out how he could make him more presentable. Maybe Matthew would not take it out on him, because of the stupidity of Damir.
Markus listed to Frank Cole explain where Moon and Rub'ik were going. One thing caught his attention. Frank Cole did not think he was leaving also. Markus knew if he was left here, he would probably be dead in short order. Damir would take out his anger on the man, and would make sure it was not an easy death. Frank Cole would be leaving.
Markus watched in wonder as the female Elf, Moon, healed Brennan's back. The dampening system was down. He needed to get everyone gone quickly before the Elves decided to show him more of their powers. Matthew would just have to deal with them.
[/i]“Rub’ik want to have some fun? I doubt your grandfather Tal’mac wants the doctor here to have what he took from you, Moon, me and anybody else that carries Elvin blood, blood magic or Shadow magic, am I right Blood Brother? I think it needs to be dealt with as it looks like you and Moon are free. ... [/quote]
When the Elf nodded, when no one said anything, the hairs on the back of Markus' neck prickled. The Elf was thinking something. Watching the Elf close his eyes, smile and then open them again, nodding to the young Shadow Hunter did nothing to allivate Markus' dread of even being in the same room with the creatures.
Markus clapped his hands once to get everyone's attention. "We need to finish up here." He looked at the two elves, "Moon you and Rub'ik are to be sent to Grand Master Matthew's home, where your Grand Sire is waiting for you as we speak.
Moon stepped forward. "Excuse me Master Markus but I will be traveling with Mistress Tia, I am her protector." Rub'ik steeped forward also. "I will be traveling with Master Alec."
Shaking his head Markus continued, "Both of them will also be sent to Grand Master Matthew's home. All wizards are to go there. At that point it will be decided, where everyone is to go to next." Markus glanced at Damir, who had turned almost purple in anger. "This has been decreed by Grand Master Matthew.
Markus glanced at Tamir, who was standing off from the group. The man looked like he couldn't decide if he wanted to run or not. Turning completely in his direction to continued, "Grand Master Matthew has also requested that Tamir, be brought to him for questioning and judgment." Markus waved at two of the Shadow Hunters and pointed at Tamir. The man was shaking his head and backing up. He was about to run. For some reason Matthew wanted the two brothers separated. It would be one more person he didn't have to keep tract of on the island.
The two Shadow Hunters made short work of grabbing the man and tying his hands behind his back. After a few more tries at getting loose, Tamir just gave up and stared at the floor. Markus nodded toward the group and Tamir was added to thoes who would be leaving.
Markus waved at Kurthra and motioned to the front door. The Shadow Hunter nodded and motioned for the other Shadow Hunter's in his group to start helping everyone out the door and to the Portkey which would send them away.
As they all shuffled out Markus turned to Damir. "You and I will wait here for a ruling by Lord Matthew." Markus chuckled when Damir turned white. "Have a seat Damir, this shouldn't take long.

DAMIR
TIA
Damir reached out and backhanded Tia. He didn't put any serious force into the blow, just enough to get her undivided attention. "Ah, but Pet," he said adding emphasis to the word she hated so much, "you are going to eventually mind. I have not shown you all of my secrets here in the castle."
He patted her head as he put his face close to hers, "But, don't you worry, I plan on you, experiences everything I have to offer." He stepped back.
He turned to the closest guard and said, "Get a message to the Enforcer. Tell him because of problems he will have to enter the island over the water and land. I will explain to him why I am doing this." Damir was not about to lose the advantage he had gained.
"Yes, Lord Damir." The guard did not look enthused about delivering the message. He would probably pass in on down the line. The Enforcer had been known to kill the person delivering a message he did not like.
"Yes, Lord Damir." The guard did not look enthused about delivering the message. He would probably pass in on down the line. The Enforcer had been known to kill the person delivering a message he did not like.
Cole walked up to the chair and held Tia down while Tamir finished with the straps. Tamir ran his hands down the side of her face and placed one hand on top of her head. He was feeding on the fear which was radiating off the girl.
Damir looked at the technician and said, "Ten minutes at level three. I want her to survive this. I also want level two questions asked."
COLE
Tia spit in his face as she said, “Try and my husband will teach you Traitor the same lesson he taught his older brother!” ...
The guards dropped their hands.
..., “Princess, you are seeing only two solutions, where we see many. This is only a small moment in time. Patience Princess, not all is lost yet as the PACT has friends even here on their enemy’s turf. We will talk again, as you have shown that a dream and ideal is worth the risk.” ... Tia glanced at Fixer wondering if he had heard the mental chat she had just had.
Cole was having a hard time rationalizing the voices in his head. This time it was a female voice and he knew somehow the speaker was close. This meant there was someone on the island the Master would consider a spy. But he had no direct information, so he decided to wait until he could see if he could find the person, who was trying to talk with Tia.
... Tia said trying to bury the fear swelling inside, “What are you planning Traitor? I will tell you nothing now or ever!” ... She started inwardly panicking as she said, “If You think imprisoning me in here will hold me...or others from finding us....You know nothing Traitor!” ... She glanced at Fixer with true fear as she felt Tamir’s hands. She tried to bury the fear as Tia somehow knew Tamir like Darrell relished in her fear. “Whatever you are Planning Traitor I will fight it! You will learn Magi don’t break! I will tell you nothing!” ...
Another tech walked up to her with his hand holding two needles. He bowed to the traitor as he handed Tamir one of the needles pointing to Fixer. He pulled out a blue green bottle from his pocket. Tia tried not to listen as the tech asked, “And her dose my Lord? Or do you wish the honor?”...
DAMIR
Tia spit in his face as she said, “Try and my husband will teach you Traitor the same lesson he taught his older brother!” ...
Cole took a step forward, but his arms were grabbed by the guards following him. A glare from Damir and Tamir told him he better not interfere. He looked at the floor...... He settled back in to as much of a relaxed pose as he could. The guards dropped their hands.

His day just got brighter.
..., “Princess, you are seeing only two solutions, where we see many. ....” ... Tia glanced at Fixer wondering if he had heard the mental chat she had just had.
Cole was having a hard time rationalizing the voices in his head.
Cole was having a hard time rationalizing the voices in his head.
It would help later with the elves he was sure.
"My brother is enjoying it, aren't you brother." Damir only received a nod, but it was enough to let him know his brother was flying high.
... “And her dose my Lord? Or do you wish the honor?”
Cole's eyes went to the bottle which the tech was using to fill the two needles. He knew about that drug.... He could all ready feel in running cold through his veins.
The choice would technically be Cole's on how much pain the girl felt.
,,, “ Yes Lord Damir! And the drug? Do you wish the machine to continue dosage or do you want control of that part of her sessions?”
"No. Give her the one dose then we will see. I don't want her catatonic. She just needs to learn to follow directions immediately. I will watch the screen and tell you if you need to push more into her system.?
The tech knew the young girl would be easier then Fixer to break especially with the new drug that his lord had recently created. He looked at his master as he said, “My Lord, we are ready to begin. Any suggestions on where in her past we should begin, my Lord?”
TIA
Damir straighter up and put his hand around the girls neck. He knew he was cutting off some of her air. "You will pay for that little demonstration later, Pet. When you call me Master, I will make you regret your rude behavior. "And thank you for the information." Damir released his hand and chuckled.
Tia was terrified as the traitor grabbed her throat. She knew by his own words that she would survive the choking. She prayed that her mental training would indeed protect her. "I will never call you anything except Traitor!", Tia barely whispered.
Tia heard the traitor’s words as she felt the other cloaked man’s touch reminded her of Marcus calming her after a nightmare. She said while trying to move her head away from the soothing gesture, “I am not YOUR PET! And Keep Out of My Head!”
Tia felt the similarity between this man’s mental touch and the Protector’s. She screamed as her mind envisioned the mental onslaught that Tia had been forced to endure this past summer. She tried to laugh as she thought aloud, “They won’t break me! The Dark One did his worst and I still told him nothing!”
The Tech smiled as he said, “Oh this should calm you at least at first.” He stuck her neck as he whispered, “You think you are so brave little one. Even Fixer could not beat the Educator! You see Princess, Darrell told me all about you and the education he gave you.”
Tia tried to hold in the fear that remembering that it was not answers the Dark One had wanted. It had been worse. Tears came to Tia’s eyes as she wondered if she would ever forgive herself. “ the Dark One failed and So Will You!”
The tech bowed as he did as instructed. The pain in her head got extreme as she screamed. She wondered if Darrell’s friend was the tech that he had taken her to. “Darrell was a coward! I never kneeled to his Master!” She had to escape the onslaught of pain.
Tia was terrified and wanted only to go deep within. The pain was building again. She retreated into her mind. She thought she saw Fixer but was too scared to go near. Instead she headed for the tree house Marcus had built. Tia had promised Landon to one day to take him there. "I wonder if Marcus ever took Mr. Cole there?" She wondered how her brother would have reacted to her marriage. "Did Marcus even have a girlfriend?" Tia prayed that she was safe here. Marcus had always told her that the tree house would protect her as he would. She smiled as she saw Marcus near the secret entrance

Cole swallowed hard. If he had this figured out correctly. The more he tried to help Tia, the more pain the tech would try and give her. It would be an uphill battle. Tia was terrified at the moment. When she started to bring up the Dark One, she was attempting to compare the past with what she was going through in the present. The only trouble with this scenario was Damir was also trying to take out the Dark One and reduce the Mental Being trapped in a cave, hold on what the MacIntosh Clan wanted. As far as the Clan was concerned the Dark One needed to be destroyed. Cole knew this. He also knew the MacIntosh Clan could create a much nastier world for Tia at the moment. Damir enjoyed causing pain almost as much as his brother Tamir did.

Great, this tech had known Darrell the boy at the orphanage who had done everything he could to make Tia's life a living terror. If Darrell told the man some of the things he had done, then those memories could be used against Tia.

"No. Give her the one dose then we will see. I don't want her catatonic....." (tech) “Darrell was a coward! I never knelt to his Master!”
A least the man had was not connected with the Dark one. The Shadow had been behind Darrell's mean streak. This man had never knelt to the Shadow. Cole was not even sure if Damir knew about the dark wizard. There would probably be more questions about the wizard later.
Tia was near collapse. Marcus screamed, “Stop hurting her, you win! I will do as you demand. Just stop hurting Tia!”
Tia mental image wanted to protect her friends but the traitor only would accept full surrender. “Please Fixer?” Her eyes started to close as she allowed the darkness to come. She was tired and had no way to protect those who looked to her to one day lead them. She whispered, “Sorry, I failed to stand strong against the Traitor of the PACT. Sorry, I failed you guys, Sir.” Tia in her eyes had failed those her father thought of as family.
COLE
Cole tried hard to block some of what he was doing. He knew in the back of his brain he was giving Damir information about his abilities which would come back and haunt him eventually.
What he was showing Tia in her mind was only going to cause her mental anguish. The deep need to not cause her physical anguish was giving him a headache, but he concentrated. She had to give in soon. Master Damir was not going to allow this mode of brain wash to go on much longer. The Master usually resorted to pain, a lot of it, if he couldn't get his way any other way.
Cole wasn't sure what was in the needles, but whatever it was he and Tia were both in for a rough ride. He tried to concentrate on his breathing. He needed to do what Master Damir said, and fight the feelings and images threatening to break through into his consciousness. Receiving his shot, his mind started to float. Doing what Master Damir said became all important. The subconscious entity was still talking with him though. It wouldn't let him enjoy his Master's words.
Cole had to make the Key think it was the old him. He imagined the ring was still on his hand, a ring all of them had received, and whispered Chessmaster. He tried to keep the smile off his face when he said the code name Marcus had been given. He could not explain to Master Damir he was attempting to fool the entity, and he could also give the key what he wanted.
Cole cringed and smiled at the same time. He saw the moment Tia gave in. He hoped Damir saw the same thing. It would get both of them off the machine. Damir had spent time telling Cole the machine was just to help him forget the things the ones he had thought were friends, tried to drill into his brain. These things were thoughts Master Damir thought took Cole's mind away from his true calling of serving Master Damir. Cole tried his hardest to believe Master Damir, but he could never lose all of the thoughts from the past.
DAMIR
Damir continued to watch the screen closely. Cole was concentrating, a little to hard in his mind. The man was not just accepting his fate, he was still fighting it. Damir had never come across such stubbornness. Cole was at the point he would do what he was told, but it was not instantaneous obedience.
When the picture of a strange ring showed up on the screen and a whispered word of Chessmaster escaped Cole's lips, Damir looked at the man. There was no reason he could see why the ring would show. He also had no idea why Cole had said "Chessmaster". These were two things he was going to have to find out about somewhee along the line.
Tia's heart rate spiked and two tears escaped the corners of her eyes. Picking up the mike he said, "Very good Pet. Now I am going to let you join me back in the main room. If you are good and do exactly as I say, quickly, I will let you stay with me there. If you fight me again, I will discipline you and your friends. I will let you earn the release of your friends through your actions but you will also earn their pain through your actions. I do not need them so I can treat them as I see fit, not worrying if one of them dies. Understand me Pet, understand me well. Their lives will depend on what you do or don't do."
Damir turned to the tech and nodded pointing the ceiling. The tech nodded back, raised the dark dome over Tia and undid her straps. He helped her sit up. "Stay there for a moment until I check you out." The tech looked into her eyes and ears. He ran his hand down her back. He then ran his other hand down her front. He wasn't gentle. He ran his hands down her legs to her ankles and rotated each of her feet. He took an empty needle and jabbed it into the bottom of her feet, causing her to yell. "Very good you have feeling in your feet. You may follow Master Damir, where he wishes to take you."
The tech turned to Damir, who had gone over to Cole's chair and released him. "She is ready Lord Damir." With a lecherous smile he added, "Let me know if I need to work with her further."
Damir smiled. The man was a pure sadist when it came to using his machines. "You have done very well today." Damir looked at Tia, before finishing, "I will let you know if Tia needs some more encouragement to be good." Damir chuckled as he saw the girl cringe. She stood at the end of the chair, she had sat on. Her eyes were on the floor. Her face was streaked with tears.
Damir turned to Cole, who had gotten up and was bowing to him. "Take her to the main room. she will kneel at my chair until I join you. If she gives you any trouble beat her." Damir planned to follow them out to the room, but slow enough for Tia to be put into position, kneeling, her forehead on the stone floor. He had a couple ideas on how he was going to toy with the girl. "Oh and Cole bring the others back in. Leaves the elves at the hospital, though. I want the doctor to be able to complete his experiments. I want Luke and Brennan, spread eagle between two poles, facing away from my chair. Alex and Liam will be allowed to kneel off to the side."
Receiving a nod from Cole, Damir watched as Tia was led out of the room. He followed, stopping at the entrance to the main hall. Cole whispered something to one of the servants who took off at a fast run out of the room. He then led Tia to his chair and pushed her into position. Cole motioned to another servant and said something to him. The servant nodded and went to the three poles lined up half way across the room. The shackles were made ready for Luke and Brennan. When all was ready he stood waiting, his hands in front of him and his head bowed.
Damir entered the room and slowly made his way over to his chair. He nodded to his brother, Tamir who had Marco in a very uncomfortable position, trying to balance on a plank. There were swords pointing up on both sides of the plank. "I said I want him alive Tamir," he yelled at his brother. He received a smile back, which meant Tamir had a plan if Marco fell. The man would at least not die.
As he sat down the four men were brought into the room. Cole made quick work of fastening the shackles around Brennan and Luke's, wrists and ankles. Both men were sweating.
Damir leaned down and patted the top of Tia's head, "Nice Pet... Very nice pet." Damir settled back in the chair and watched the room.
TIA
Tia barely heard the man. “I failed to free them. Why did I think I could save them?” She looked at the tree house. She knew why, Marcus, her brother gave her the strength to hold strong to her beliefs. Tia cringed as his words dug deep. “I understand master. Could I request that the elves be returned to the school Master?” Tia pleaded as she needed to get Moon and Rub’ik out of harm’s way.
Tia cringed as all she wanted to do was smack the man. “I do that though and my friends will be the ones to suffer.”
When the tech stuck her feet with the needle Tia yelled as all she could think about was her betrayal to her father and brother’s values and beliefs. She wondered if she would ever live up to the leader that protected her people.
Tia cringed.
Tia was still in extreme pain from her time in the machine. The fifteen year old shook as the traitor threaten another one of her friend. “Nobody Else is suppose to pay for an Andreas’ mistake. Now my friends are paying for mine. On top of that if I carry out what I had planned, That traitor will just order my friends’ deaths.”, Tia thought as tears came to her eyes, she realized her protectiveness was being used against her. “How much longer can I...” Tia feared she was failing her friends. “Prove I can trust your word Master. Send the elves back to the school.”
Tia was so lost in how she had failed the PACT, she did not notice the woman that watched her be lead back to the room. “Don’t worry Princess, You are stronger than you think.” She had seen the others be taken back to where she had never been allowed. Her captivity was near an end. “Now to check on the elves.” Smiling as the tech smacked her and telling her to get back to her cage.
Marco had been at this course for almost two hours. Seeing his captain bring in Tia almost caused him to slip. The girl seemed defeated. He had to chance snapping her and Commander out of whatever that traitor had put them though. “Snap out of it Princess! Fixer, you would suppose to protect her! William trusted you Commander! Instead you betray us and help a couple of Traitors, break her!” Marco glared at Tamir, “Phantom, That girl is not anyone’s puppet! Not on my family’s watch!”
Tia listened to Marco tearing verbally into Fixer and Tamir. She allowed a small smile. Her Head of House seemed to be holding strong. “Maybe that is what Fixer meant by make it seem like I am giving in? Can I truly pull this off? Do whatever that traitor wants until I earn all my friends’ freedom.” A sly grin came to her face, “As soon as my friends are safe, then I can safely strike. Was that my earlier error? Striking before knowing my enemy, Captain?” Tia hoped she would not fall apart or strike again before my friends are safe.
Tia shook as she tried to figure out where she had errored. As the servant headed towards the shackles, he bumped her. Her mind went back to what her captor had said about her actions deciding her friends’ fate. “I dare not act out or Damir will just take it out on my Friends.” As she tried quickly to get back into the position that her captor wanted her, Tia made her hands into fists. She had to be patient at least until her friends were out of danger.
Trickster shook as he watched the young fifteen year old. "What did that maniac put you through? Hold in there Tia, please princess," Marco whispered as he prayed that the Commander could pull her out of whatever depths she had went to in her mind.
Tia stayed with her eyes focus on the ground. “How may I serve you Master?” It grated her to call this traitor Master but she had given her word.
She pleaded, “Master, can I request that Luke be sent back to the school? I have done as you requested and per our agreement I am requesting Luke be returned to the school” She needed to protect Luke.
Bren eyes darted from Luke to Tia. He knew that things were about to go from bad to worse. Tia would not even look at him or Luke. “What did you do to her?” Bren said scared for the children in the room.
Luke stared at Tia as Fixer shackled him and Bren. He was worried for his leader as she would not even make eye connect. He whispered to Fixer, “Is she going to be all right, Captain? It must have been worse then what that maniac put me and Liam through at the Shack.” He turned his head towards Alec and Liam, Luke noticed that both was knelt down. Alec’s eyes were looking at the floor. He heard from both a bare whisper, “What is your will, Lord Damir? How may we serve you?”
Trying her best not to cringed away from the traitor’s touch, Tia held her position as she froze as she asked, “Thank you Master.” Tia continued, “How...else...might...I...serve...you....Master?”
DAMIR
"We will see how you do when you are back in the main room. It will depend on how fast you comply with my orders, pet. Now I will have you released." Damir put the mike down and headed for Cole's chair.
Damir shook his head slowly as he watched the tech examine Tia, to see if she would be able to get to the main room under her own power. The man was being a little too friendly, but Damir thought it might teach the girl that worse could happen to her if she wasn't under his protection.
Damir looked at the girl standing in front of him. Her head was respectively bowed, but he had the feeling it was to hid her eyes. Her hands kept clinching and unclenching at her hips. "I have told you, Pet, you must earn their release. So far you have done nothing out of the ordinary, since I expect you to call me Master. The tests are coming, Pet. Hopefully you will get high marks." Damir chuckled. This was going to be fun. It had been a long time since he had a true Pet to play with and train.
As he walked to his chair he glared at where Marco was being trained by Tamir. "Get your pet under control Tamir, or I will remove him from you and give him to one of the guards. If you have to gag him do it."
Tamir backhanded Marco, sending the man flying off of the plank, just missing the swords. He motioned for two guards to grab the man and bring him around the otherside of the wood. When Marco was kneeling in front of him, he backhanded him again, while saying, "You will keep your mouth shut unless you are asked a question." He gave Marco a right cross, and said, "You have not been given permission to do anything other than what I say." Tamir grabbed a large handful of Marco's hair and pulled his head back, so he was almost looking at the ceiling. "Maybe I should let the guards do a bit of your training. It would be interesting to see how long it took for you to beg to come back to me. They can give you pain and never leave a mark, I have seen it." Tamir threw Marco's head forward and motioned for the guards to let the man go. Marco fell forward. "Now back on the plank on your hands and knees. You will raise your right hand and right knee off the plank and maintain that position until I tell you differently.
Tamir watched as Marco slowly got back on the plank and got into position. He turned and bowed slightly to his brother. When he received a smile, he turned back to his pet and watched, keeping track of what the passing minutes did to his pet's balance.
Damir smiled when he saw Tia scramble back into position. He also saw the fists she made. She was a stubborn Pet. He wanted her obeying, but somehow that stubbornness was endearing. She would always be a challenge. It would make her compliance that much more enjoyable.\
Tamir hit Marco hard across his back with the crop in his hand. "I heard that Pet. It is good for you I was the only one."
"Ahhh, Pet, so stubborn. I told you before I will let you earn the release of your friends and I will, but Tia you haven't done anything yet to earn my choice of who will leave us. Yes, Pet, you call me Master and yes you bow before me, but that is to be expected of any of my servants or pets. You are also doing these two things because you are being forced to. Now I am willing to over look that fact, but until I have you do something that shows me you truly understand the power I have over you, and you comply immediately, then we will see which of these people go home." Damir kept his chuckle to himself. He knew Tia did not understand that Alex and Liam were included in the possible ones to be sent home. That gave him two of his own, to use to get her to learn compliance.
Damir looked over at the young security guard. He was more than he appeared to be. The reports he had gotten from his spies, said the young man was a profiler. This could come in very handy when dealing with his enemies. The young man also knew the security system of the school. If Damir was correct in his assumptions he also had dealings with a group called The Caretakers, a sort of behind the scenes group of vigilantes who thought they could work outside the natural governance of the wizarding world to right wrongs. They had some backing by Law and Enforcement, but he thought it was loosely given. "What I did to her, Brennan my Pet, is no concern of yours. You do not ask the questions here, I do. Your time to give answers is very near."
As Cole finished fastening the shackles that would make Luke spread eagled between the two poles, as Brennan was between the other two, he looked the young man in the eyes. He blinked several times. His brain was trying to draw him into his past life away from his master, Lord Damir. Finally he focused, "She will be fine and happy as soon as she learns Lord Damir only has her best interest in mind. She is stubborn, but she will learn."
The young boy known as Luke was another interesting subject. The boy was smart and could take some roughing up. Damir didn't know much about him, except he was popular at school, so he could possibly be used to bring others to the island, because they would trustingly follow him. His parents were extremely wealthy, even owning their own island, giving the possiblity of ransom of some kind being paid. He had a relationship with a young girl named Star, who seemed to be Marco's protégée.... maybe he could learn something from the child that Marco was refusing to tell him. And he meant a lot to Tia, belonging to a group of children who called themselves The Core. This opened the possibility of further control over Tia and possibly the children. Damir had learned a long time ago, if he could control the children, he could control the adults surrounding them and have a new little army he could train. Many times adults did not pay attention to children standing around listening or to what the children were doing.
Damir smiled. "Well Pet, since I know you want to obtain the freedom of one of your companions, I think I will let you assist me in finding out some information." Damir looked at the two men spread eagled between the two poles. I think we will start with questions for the one known as Brennan. Stand up Pet and follow me."
He helped to pull Tia up off the floor and holding onto her upper arm he dragged her to stand to the left of Brennan. She was now standing behind, but between the two men's positions. "Here." Damir handed her a two-foot long single tailed whip. "Now I am going to ask this man some questions. If he answers me then you can just stand there. If he refuses to answer me, you will whip him twice. Upon his refusal to answer, I will repeat the question and you will repeat your administrations if he still holds the information I want back. Follow through with this request and I will choose one of your companions to return to the school. Shall we begin?"
Damir turned to Brennan and rubbed his hand down the bare back of the young man. There were some signs the young man had felt the bite of the whip before. This should be interesting. Damir took three steps back, crossed his arms over his chest and asked, "Brennan, besides the Head Mistress who do you take orders from?" Damir smiled and waited.
(OOC: Tamir is an admin character and being used here to further the story. I have permission to say what Marco did.
TIA
Tia slowly nodded and bowed her head. Her anger was threaten to get the better of her. Tia had a bad feeling she had been played for a fool. “He wants to go back on his word then so can I.” She would wait though to see if he indeed had not made the place clear. Tia took her word of honor seriously and expected others to as well.
Tia said, “Master, your exact words of our bargain was, that I call you Master and I would be able to choose a friend that would be sent back to the school. That if I bowed then I got to choose another friend. For each order I obeyed, I would be able to choose a friend that you would then send back to the school. Master, I have honored my word and so if your word means anything...” Tia paused to hold back raising her head. She had him as the traitor would be forced either to send three of her choosing back to the school or show that his word meant nothing.
“Come on Phantom remember your true feelings concerning life. Remember what your own twin put you through five years ago. Chessmaster’s sister somehow beat the machine, you can too my friend.” Marco prayed that Tia’s actions would help pull Tamir back from whatever Damir had done to him.
Marco smiled as he whispered, “Phantom, The Princess takes people at their word. You are not the Puppetmaster. She is Chessmaster’s baby sister. You know how Chessmaster looked at life. Well guess who was her first teacher...” Trickster was getting a kick out of Tia using the traitor’s own words to show his heart.
Tia gave a sly grin as she said, “Sorry Master if it seems I am being stubborn but a bargain is a bargain. I have done what you wanted by your own words. So as our deal was for each bow, each time I called you Master and each time I obeyed. A Friend of my choosing was released and sent back to Hogwarts! I therefore choose both elves and Luke.” Tia looked at Fixer and asked, “Since I can choose a fourth, would you like to be sent back to Hogwarts Gatherer?” She thought she had the traitor by his own words.
Brennan smiled, “The young princess is a lot like her brother Marcus. Your word is the only thing that she tests. It looks like it is Checkmate, Damir!” He smiled as he prayed that Tia had just backed Damir into the corner. Bren looked at Luke and prayed Damir would indeed be forced by his bargain to send Luke and the elves home to Hogwarts.
“According to my brother, Captain, Tia is a lot like her brother Marcus. Damir is trying in her eyes to break the bargain. If she proves his word is useless, then well you helped train us...” Luke gave a laugh. The Core was being trained by the members of PACT.
Tia was inwardly scared. The Dark One had forced her to use the Cutting Curse on Brennan that past summer. The memory of that nearly sent her running. She saw Bren and Marco slightly nod to her. They understood.
Tia holding the whip said, “Yes Master but by your own words I bind you to our bargain. Master, I will follow through on my part of the bargain as long as you do.”
Bren inwardly shook. He knew Tia would have to whip him. Smiling as he glanced at Luke. “That is none of your business Damir!”
Tia let the whip fly quickly twice at Bren’s back. “Master, as our bargain. I request Luke be return to Hogwarts. Or am I right and your word means nothing!”
(OOC: Brennan, Luke and Marco are all my characters)
DAMIR
Damir rubbed his chin and pretended to think about what Tia was saying. He nodded to her, but didn't say any words. Too bad she didn't know he only had to follow the last agreement she had made with him. The one she was talking about, she never accepted, so it was null and void.
Tamir just turned and looked at Marco. "I thought I told you to shut up. Maybe this will help close your mouth." Tamir signaled the guards to grab Marco as he pulled a ball-gag out from a shelf under the nearby table. He stuffed it into the man's mouth and tightly pulled the straps to the back, tying them extremely tight. The straps would bite into the corners of Marco's mouth. Maybe that would teach him not to talk. Tamir fought the thoughts the man made his brain remember. If his brother noticed he would be sent off to rest again, and he wanted to stay and learn.
Damir again pretended to ponder what Tia was saying. So far he had learned the Elves and Luke were high on her priority list to be sent home. She had chosen them over the others. Damir knew the elves were not weak. He had heard of their possible special magical abilities. As long as the dampening system was in place around them they would not be able to use their magic. He was worried if they ever got loose. "I hear your words, Tia. You consider the elves and Luke as the first candidates to be sent home. I am afraid you would have to choose one of the elves not both. It is necessary to have at least one of them on the island. Cole cannot go. He is not one of your original group to join me." Damir inwardly smiled. It was fun making the girl think he was agreeing with her.
Damir smiled. "Oh Pet, we are far from Checkmate on my side of the board."
Damir continued to stand with his hands across his chest. "My word means a lot to me Tia as you are about to learn. During the early part of our question and answer session in the other room, I did agree to send one person home every time you bowed to me or called me Master. And I would have followed through with that. Unfortunately you did not accept my proposal. If you remember we talked, or argued if you like, some more and I reissued my proposal in slightly different terms. I believe my exact words were... ' ...I will let you earn the release of your friends through your actions but you will also earn their pain through your actions. ...' Since this is the proposal you agreed to just before you were released, it will be the one we will follow. I will decide when you have done enough. I will decide who goes home, although I will take your suggestions into consideration.... Now where were we, oh yes, Brennan, besides the Head Mistress who do you take orders from?" Damir again waited.
(OOC: Tamir is an admin character and I used him to further the story.)
TIA
Marco glanced between Tamir and the young fifteen years old Gryffindor. “How could he make you forget your own son, Tamir? And more importantly why doesn’t Liam recognize you?” The Head of Slytherin remembered that Jonathan had said Liam was the key to stopping the Clan’s attack on the school. “Could it be that Liam be the key to stopping the attack cause he can help free his true father Tamir?” Marco noticed that Liam had raised his eyes slightly to see why Marco was shifting his gauze from the cloaked man to him.
Tia shook her head as she glanced at Alec. Her mind was saying was to get Moon back to Hogwarts before her assistant started blaming herself. “If she finds out what I was put through, I will never get her off that bag in the dorm-room. The problem is even though Alec needs Rub’ik, my heart tells me to insure Damir has no insurance to hold over Alec by choosing Rub’ik. So who do I choose?” The princess prayed that Rub’ik would hear her thoughts and help her decide. She also hoped he would not tell his aunt Moon. Tia wished Fixer was still the Gatherer or that Darik, Rub’ik’s older brother was near enough.
Alec felt Tia’s eyes on him and gave a slight shrug. He knew that she had tried to get both elves free. He had to chance giving her a heads up. “Princess, Neither as he only wants to insure whichever one you choose stays to insure your loyalty or mine. My Cousin is playing you...”The Shadow Hunter was risking the collar around his neck causing him major pain.
Brennan smiled as he said, “Tia, made a deal with you only. Fixer and others have insured that none of us especially her ever fully break. I wonder what the Grand Alpha Matthew would think of the shady kidnapping of people he has stuck claim to?” The Profiler had figured this kidnapping was not sanctioned by Matthew. “If I am right then I am hoping that somebody informs The Grand Alpha of the Clan. I am going to love seeing the Enforcer try to explain this...” Brennan laughed as he said, “Markus days as Clan Enforcer are numbered.”
Tia smiled but then was puzzled by his words. “That way the deal was it not?” Tia wondered confused.
Tia’s mind only remembered the pain that she and Luke had been in. She chanced a glance at Fixer. “Do you remember what he is talking about?” The Core leader had been so sure of the wording. “Could I be wrong? Marcus?” She hoped that her key or was it her brother’s spirit had remembered the deal that was struck.
Tia’s eyes looked at the floor as she prayed he was wrong as Tia understood if this was the deal she was bound to. “If it was this I agreed to then I have once again thought wrong and must fix my error. But which is the true deal?”
Tia’s key Marcus shook as he knew the traitor had bound Tia even tighter to the deal. “I just won’t tell her either way. Tia’s family code of honor is too great. If I tell her then she would break even more as the princess would want to insure that ‘Traitor’ saw her as a person of her word. I am not helping to bind her to him even more. I will break free of this mental prison and then Fixer, I will free her!” Marcus hoped he got out soon as he felt the princess’ uncertainty.
Bren look at his cousins in turn as he said, “The Ministry of course, I am a Hit Wizard after all!”Bren hear several including a few of Damir’s own guards laugh. He braced himself for Tia’s strikes.
Tia was unsure as she was sure that Bren had indeed spoke truth. She look down at the ground then at the traitor that now, by her own words, was her Master. “Master?”
DAMIR/ Cole
Damir saw his pet, Liam, lift his eyes from the floor in front of him to look back and forth between Marco and Tamir. The boy still did not recognize his father and Tamir did not recognize his son. It looked like his mother was at it again. He had not known she had used the machine on the boy. It was for the best though. Liam needed to be under his power and only under his. His step-father had given Liam to him to use as he saw fit. The boy was useful getting information about the school. Damir was a little tired with having to deal with the school, but so many of the people he had to keep track of and attempt to control, were connected to the place.
Tia was looking to Alec to make her decision on which elf to keep. That was interesting. It meant one of the elves was very important to the boy, but which one. The female elf kept her eyes on Tia whenever they were in the same room, so it had to be the male, Rubik. Could the elf be used to control Alec? It would be some time before either of the elves would be allowed to leave so it was a question he could put off. As long as the dampening cloak was in effect the elves and the wizards could not use any of their magic.
Damir stared at the young man spread eagle between the two poles. "What happens to Markus does not necessarily affect me. I don't need you to totally break. That would actually take some of the fun of controlling you out of it. You see Brennan Dawson, you are weak. You care about others and that is what I will use to make you my faithful pet, after of course you answer all of my questions."
Cole looked first to Damir before he answered the girls question. When he received a nod from his Master he said, "When you first were placed on the equalizer and made to see the truth, the Master gave you a choice to be able to know you belonged to him. Since you decided to continue to argue with him, he removed the choice. Eventually he made another offer, which you accepted. The second off was not as good as the first, which sometimes happens in the world. Now, you must wait and see until the Master decides you have done enough to warrant him sending someone off the island. You also gave up the ability of choosing who that someone is, so the Master will get to choose."
Cole again looked to Damir to make sure he had gotten it right. Receiving a nod, he again focused on the floor in front of him. This was a lesson he had learned a long time ago, in the other life, the life before he knew the truth, that Damir was his Master and would always make his life exactly what it should be.
Damir held back his smile. The girl was learning a valuable lesson. Sometime in the future he would find out if she retained the lesson. The lesson would teach her, that holding off to something which was inevitable would only take away possibilities. The person handing out the possibilities became more and more in control as the possible recipient became more and more desperate, seeing avenues closed.
Cole kept his eyes glued to the stone floor at his feet. The Key Marcus, Tia's subconscious, was again talking to him. Cole inwardly chuckled. He envisioned the tree house growing ever smaller, while he made it impossible for the mental entity to shrink in size. He thought, "You do not have to tell her anything. Master Damir will control her through her need to always follow through on what she agrees to. She is young. She will learn or she will always be in his control, where she should be."
Damir looked at Tia and held up five fingers then motioned toward Brennan. Tears were running down her face but she brought the whip in contact with the youngmans back five times.
Damir then moved her back so she was standing to the left of Luke. He ran his hand down the boy's back. So smooth and unmarred. "So boy, it seems you have never felt the bite of the whip. I guarantee you it is not pleasant. Damir smiled when he saw Tia realize that her next use of the whip would be on Luke's back
He turned back to Brennan and said, "Well that is part of an answer, but I think you can do better. I happen to know you and others belong to an organization which is called The Caretakers. Who do you answer too there?"
(OOC: "Keys" are representations of subconscious areas of the brain. Sort of like "that little voice you hear sometimes" but much more substantial. The owner can actually carry on a conversation with their "key". Only those with Blood/Elvin (they have Elf blood mixed with their own blood) or Shadow Magic can tap the "keys". The "key" is activated by Elf's and contain most of the memories of a loved one to help the barrier cope with different situations.)
MARKUS MacIntosh
The Clan Enforcer landed on the island more furious now then when Markus had first learned he was locked-out. His glanced went to the reason standing slightly behind him. “I told Matthew I could and would handle my step-son’s overstepping his place. By him sending these personal enforcers of his, my brother is showing that is my loyalty he questions.” Markus had not wanted Matthew ever learning of this secret castle island that had been a wedding present from his second wife Danaki Zurlo’s family.
As he walked towards the castle in the distance, The Enforcer debated on what he would do once he was within the safety of his own hideaway. “I should just make my brother’s personal guard my prisoners. I could order their deaths and then place the blame on Damir or even that stupid wife Danaki. No, I can’t show my hand this soon especially if Matthew is testing me. No, I will allow Matthew’s Personal Shadow Hunters to search for the elves that...” He paused in thought as he said chuckling, “To believe all this because Our Grand Alpha is terrified of one small elf...” Markus dare not say out loud the rest as the Shadow Hunters with him served Matthew only. “They could see as a traitor for saying out loud that Matthew is weak as him allowing the word of that elf Tal’mac to override The Clan Enforcer has finally shown him to be.” He could only pray that the elves Tal’mac was so sure were being held here, were not anywhere on the island. Markus smiled as such a disrespect on Matthew’s part would be all Markus would need to declare Matthew unfit to lead.
TIA
Marcus was in major pain as he pleaded, “Stop Fixer. This will hurt Tia by giving her headaches. Come On Frank Cole that machine could not have changed you that much? Damir is the traitor that you swore to his victims’ family you would make pay...Remember Gatherer, how you found Marco five years ago? Remember what that Traitor has put your men through? I can’t and won’t believe that Tal’mac and Father was wrong in choosing you as Tia’s Secret Protector.”
The Key Marcus had to stay strong and so said, “I won’t be controlled and I will insure that neither will my little sister! I dealt with Darrel for bullying her and I will deal with even you if I must, though it will break my heart to use the very skills you trained me to control, I use against you.” He had to break free of this prison and that meant going through Fixer or as Marcus prayed that he could free Fixer’s keys with a special spell.
Tia’s eyes teared but she did as her honor demanded. “I wish I never gave my word cause now my own family honor binds me to these horrid deeds.” Her mind went back to Fixer’s Island and the day she ordered Danny’s punishment. Drying her eyes as she glanced at Fixer, “Did you foresee this moment? Was that your way of preparing me to handle what I am by my own words now having to do? I won’t dishonor my family’s memory by crying. Instead Mr. Cole hear me well as one day I will kill that traitor I now am forced to call Master! He has made me a threat to not only the Core but my very protectors!”
A least the man had was not connected with the Dark one. The Shadow had been behind Darrell's mean streak. This man had never knelt to the Shadow. Cole was not even sure if Damir knew about the dark wizard. There would probably be more questions about the wizard later.
... "Who is the most important person in your life?" Damir had several of his people in position to grab people he thought she might name.
She retreated into her mind. She thought she saw Fixer but was too scared to go near. Instead she headed for the tree house Marcus had built. ... Tia prayed that she was safe here. Marcus had always told her that the tree house would protect her as he would. She smiled as she saw Marcus near the secret entrance.
Cole inwardly cringed. There was no way, Damir and the Tech would not realize Tia was going inward in her mind, looking for a safe place to hide. That safe place manifested itself as a tree house, a favorite place of her deceased brother. Cole looked at Tia's pain meter. The closer she got to the tree house in her mind, the less the pain meter showed. The only problem, with what the Tech was doing to her, her pain level should be climbing. They would know she was mentally chasing safety.
He had two choices. Let her get to safety, and be able to fight the pain on her own or stop her, let the pain over take her, and keep the tech from dialing up the pain. If the pain kept climbing Cole was not sure how much he could fight. Eventually it would get past his own threshold, and slam into Tia all at once. So it was the second choice. Cole looked at the ceiling, it had been a while since he used his mindweaver abilities. He had never let Damir know he even had it, but if he was going to save Tia, it had to be done. Cole knew he was pulling a whole lot of future grief on to himself. For some reason he had to save the girl. Mentally Cole started to chase Tia toward the tree house. Her deceased brothers image stood in the doorway, about ten feet from the ground. Tia was projecting, but Cole could do it better. He kept running toward her as he sent the image that the door to the tree house slammed shut, shutting Marcus' image inside. The steps up disappeared. Tia skidded to a halt, looked up and then turned to look at him. Tia fell to her knees at the base of the tree and clutched her head.
Cole pulled himself out of Tia's mind and looked at the images on the screen. Tia was shaking badly. She was also in a lot of pain, but there was nothing he could do. He looked at the Tech who was smiling and nodding. The man reached for the dial, notched it one point up... Tia screamed.... then the tech took it two points down. Cole nodded and watched the screen. His only hope was to get Tia to give in and call Damir master. He was not going to be able to keep this up for long. Damir had originally said the whole thing would only take ten minutes, but the man was having too much fun, and Tia was the toy.
DAMIR
Damir looked back and forth between the tech and Tia's image on the screen. He now had two new players in the mix. Apparently the tech, who he had known for about ten years, knew of someone named Darrell who had caused Tia problems when she was younger. The image which had shown on the screen concerning her memory, showed a pudgy boy, who sneered like a true thug.
The Shadow, the second new name, produced a picture of a well dressed man who oozed class. There was a darkness about the man also. Tia had been terrified of the man, but she had also been resolved to fight him.
Tamir who was sitting in a seat behind him, was squirming in his seat. Every time either Cole's or Tia's pain dial climbed higher he would moan with pleasure. Damir was going to have to send the man out at this rate. His brother had been known to attack someone, who kept him from feeling the pain of others. Maybe he could find someone who needed to be punished and let Tamir do it. Damir smiled and turned to his brother. "I think it is time for Marco and the female elf to have a lesson in respect. You have my permission to find them and put them through their paces."
His brother quickly rose and headed for the door. "And Tamir..." His brother stopped and turned. "I want them alive and able to move. The female elf can be carried, but Marco needs to be able to do what I wish him to do."
Tamir's shoulders slumped. He had been planning on delivering a lot of pain. "Yes Damir. They both will be alive and moving. That little female elf is going to be fun though. Maybe later you will let me have some personal time with her."
Damir nodded and shook his head as his brother left.
Now that was an interesting place. A picture of an old fashioned child's tree house came on the screen. Granted it was larger than most, built to hold adult size people. Tia was trying to run there as fast as she could. Damir barely made out a man standing in the doorway. He was waving her on, encouraging her to run faster. Damir smiled. This was Tia's mental safe place, a place in her mind where she would feel safe. Damir looked over at Cole, who had become restless enough for one guard to enter the room and stand close to the man's chair.
Damir's complete attention came to the screen. On the split screen, Tia's side was showing her running toward the Tree house. On Cole's side he was chasing her. When Damir looked at the tech, he held up his hands letting Damir know he had not connected the two subjects. Damir took a step closer to the monitor. He didn't want to miss this. If what was happening was not being caused by the tech, then he had just discovered a whole new side of Cole, an area he would use with relish, even if he had to take Cole so deep the man would only be able to use his brain and not his body.
When the door to the tree house slammed closed and Tia stopped and looked back at Cole. Damir almost screamed his joy. Cole was a mind weaver. He could control what others were seeing in their minds. Damir know Cole had to be close to the person he was controlling, and there had to be a mutual mental agreement somewhere along the line, but once the connection was broken, it would stay even if one of the parties wanted to break it off. The connection would always be there, ready to be activated by the mind weaver. Damir had a weapon. Cole was now going to be his. The possibilities were endless.
Damir took a deep breath. That would be for consideration later. First he had to get Tia settled.
The overhead scene changed. Damir turned his attention back to Cole. The man was watching the screen in front of him. He was seeing Tia shaking. Damir watched as Cole looked at the tech. He smiled when he saw the evil look come across the man's face. It did not surprise him when Tia screamed again and then settled back down to just being terrified. Cole's nod, told Damir he knew what could happen.
Damir stepped up to the mike again and said, "You will answer me Tia, or we will continue with the pain only getting worse. I guarantee I can make you hurt with a level of pain you can't even imagine and keep you awake and feeling. All I want you to do is call me Lord Damir and kneel in front of me and answer what questions I put to you. Do this and the pain will go away. Don't do what I want and the pain gets worse... Maybe I should go and get one of your little friends and have them feel the pain you are feeling now. Who is the most important person in your life, pet?" Damir watched the screen for the image that would answer his question.
TIA
Tia shook as she saw the door to the tree house disappear. Her brother was now trapped. The princess fell to her knees and cried as the pain overwhelmed her. As the pain became unbearable Tia asked, "Why Mister Cole? Why betray..." Tia stopped as she screamed.
Tia barely heard the questions but only said, "Release my friends and then send them home to Hogwarts..." Her head hurt but Tia smiled as she said, "At least the Dark One's assault on my mind this year...finally comes in handy." Tia was pretty sure if not for the fact she has had constant headaches this year, Tia would have already given in.
Tia tried to find a way into her tree house as she said, "Forget it Traitor! Now Get Out of My Mind!" Her body fell as she screamed in pain. "Protector, I need you!" She just prayed that Tommy could help her protectors find her.
DAMIR
Damir walked over to Cole's chair and looked down at the man. "I know you can talk with her, mind to mind, pet. What I want you to do is make her see in her mind that she is bowing to me and calling me Master. I want her to accept that fact, and continue with it as long as she is on my island. If you do this then I will let her and you out of the chair. You both will be taken back to the main hall, where we will see what else is happening."
Damir looked over at the other chair. He walked over and whispered in the tech's ear. "When they make the connection I want it recorded. I want all body responses for both of them detailed. I want to be able to know if it happens again past this time." The tech nodded, as Damir went back to stand beside Cole's chair. "You will start now, pet. Bring her to understand I am her new Master and must be obeyed."
Cole was fighting doing what he wanted him to do. Damir stared into his eyes, eyes which fought to disconnect the stare. Cole shook his head. "Ahhh .... pet, you can't deny me what I want. I will turn up the pain on her, higher than you can block. I can make her body twist and turn with the pain. You know that I can ... so make her believe what I want now."
COLE
Cole fought to not have to do what this man said he had to do. In the back of his head, he knew Tia was someone he was supposed to protect. But that was in his old life, a life his Master said was evil and had made him forget his duty. Cole knew Lord Damir would do what he said. He would cause the girl to feel pain she had no idea existed.
Lord Damir was not asking for much. All he wanted was for Tia to bow to him, call him Master and do what he requested. Lord Damir never requested anything which he didn't believe was best for the on carrying out the request and the one receiving the results of the request. Yes sometime it caused pain, but that was just used to get the other person's attention. To get them to concentrate on Lord Damir's requests, so they understood them.
Something, some thought was trying to push itself forward in his brain, but he couldn't get a grasp of it. He looked over at Tia, then back to the screen. He closed his eyes, blocking the stare of Lord Damir. He needed to concentrate. {i}"Tia, you need to listen to me. You are fighting a lost cause here. If you want to be allowed to go home, you are going to have to make Lord Damir think you will listen to him. Don't let your pride cause others to suffer. Sometimes a leader, knows when to fall back and protect, by biding their time." {/i}
Cole had no idea what else to do. The girl was fighting hard. He knew it was a losing battle. Lord Damir never lost.
TIA
Tia’s mental body was curled up due to the extreme pain she was feeling. “Please Mr. Cole, I need to get into the tree house. I need to talk with Marcus.” Tia’s teary eyes tried to will her brother to come out. “Marcus has never shut me out of our special place. Mr. Cole, how can I when he has my friends? You know I have tried to make a bargain, like we do with you...” Tia grabbed her body and started screaming. The princess had tried several times to exchange herself for her friend's freedom, agreeing to her captor’s terms. “I want my friends including Fixer and the elves released! I won’t let them be held by that maniac. I am one thing, my friends are another!” Tia knew she had to keep her captor’s focus on her. “I am not giving that Traitor anything especially answering his question on who is important to me.” Tia’s eyes went to Fixer's image on the wall of her prison, as she said, “I won’t betray them especially to a traitor! You guys taught me and I have no intention of letting that Traitor of the PACT,...” Tia’s eyes went to the tree house and hoped that Fixer still remembered. Tia prayed she could just save her friends by forcing the traitor into releasing them. “Lance, I hope Landon kept you out of what is happening?”
DAMIR
Damir kept his eyes on the overhead screen. At first he thought Cole was not going to do as he asked, but Tia's image came up, so he knew Cole was trying to communicate with the girl.
On Tia's side of the screen, Cole's face appeared. She was listening. The tree house was in the background. Damir chuckled. "No, Tia you are not going to get in the tree house ever again. If Frank Cole lets you in then pain will swamp your body and I will make sure your friends feel that pain. Maybe, if you decide to realize I am your Master and you are my Pet, I might let you visit the tree house." Damir was thinking of having Cole, destroy the structure in Tia's mind.
Damir watched as all of the faces of the others, Luke, Alec, Marco, Liam, Rubik, Moon and even Frank Cole's face flashed across the screen. Damir walked to Tia's chair and talked into the mike. "You want to make a bargain, Pet. Then I will make one with you. I will have all of your friends brought into the main hall. I will release you and take you there. If you bow down to me and submit, I will send one of them home. If you call me Master, I will send another home. If you agree you are my Pet, I will send another one home. Each time you do what you are told, no matter what it is, I will send a friend home. Frank Cole is non-negotiable though. He is my Pet and in training, like you will be. If you agree to all of this, then all of the friends, here now, will eventually go to safety. So, Pet, what do you say?"
Damir just waited. The girl was still trying to fight the inevitable. Whatever Cole was trying to get her to believe was working, but slowly. "I'm waiting Pet. Maybe I should destroy the tree house. I can do it. You have to realize, my way is the only way. It is the only way to save your friends. I will even let you tell me who is to go home each time." Damir put the mike down and stared at the screen.
Now that was interesting. Lance Kildare's and Landon Russo came up on the screen. Damir had his next victim's. He would grab them before the last of the present group left the island. Yes, he would send them all home. He would not promise how long they would stay gone. Picking up the mike he said, "You have five minutes to decide, Pet. After that, you will see your friends, but you will see them in pain." Damir put down the mike and crossed his arms over his chest. It was now up to the girl.
COLE
Cole watched the screen in front of him. He also kept an eye on what Lord Damir was doing. He knew by the expression on the man's face, that he realized Cole was trying. Tia was scared and that fear was making her not think as a leader. She had one thought in mind, get everyone else out of there. Cole also knew Tia was planning something.
Cole grimaced. Lord Damir was using the tree house image as a bargaining chip. He knew the Master would never let Tia into the place in her mind. It was her safety spot. A place in her mind where she could lock out the rest of the world. Once she got in, she could literally go into a catatonic state, where nothing would bother her. That was a dangerous place .... because the only way back would be if she subconsciously felt safe again, before her mind would let her return to the real world.
The Key's, known as Marcus, eyes darted from Tia’s mental image to Fixer’s. He was scared but for the fifteen year old, his creators had insured she would always trust him as she had her true brother. “How can I trust either that maniac or you that her fate would be any different should I talk her into giving in?” Marcus knew whatever he decided it had to be soon.
Tia was in extreme pain and shook as the traitor threatened another one of her friend. She tried to drag herself to the tree house. Tia stared at the tree house praying it would open. Crying as she realized her protectiveness was being used against her. “How much longer can I...” Tia feared she was failing her friends. “Prove I can trust your word. Send the elves to the school.”
Marcus smiled as he asked Fixer, “If I do what you want, how can I be sure it is not his puppet that is asking. That it is one of my creators. Prove to me that even a small part of the true you remains. Tell me something only you, Marco and Antonio knew about the night Marco and his unit disappeared. If any of the Commander remains, then tell me what her brother and Antonio received from you?”
Cole connected with Tia, making sure the Key could also hear him. "So who will give in first. How long can you last?" Cole chuckled, with no happiness in the sound.
She retreated into her mind. She thought she saw Fixer but was too scared to go near. Instead she headed for the tree house Marcus had built. ... Tia prayed that she was safe here. (Tia) “They won’t break me! The Dark One did his worst and I still told him nothing!”
(Tech) " .... Darrell told me all about you and the education he gave you.” .... “Darrell was a coward! I never kneeled to his Master!” She had to escape the onslaught of pain.

Tia was terrified and wanted only to go deep within. The pain was building again. She thought she saw Fixer but was too scared to go near. Instead she headed for the tree house Marcus had built..... She smiled as she saw Marcus near the secret entrance.
Damir looked over at Cole, who had become restless enough for one guard to enter the room and stand close to the man's chair.
Cole pulled himself out of Tia's mind and looked at the images on the screen. ... He looked at the Tech who was smiling and nodding. The man reached for the dial, notched it one point up... Tia screamed.... then the tech took it two points down. Cole nodded and watched the screen. ...
COLE
"I know you can talk with her, mind to mind, pet. What I want you to do is make her see in her mind that she is bowing to me and calling me Master.
Something, some thought was trying to push itself forward in his brain, but he couldn't get a grasp of it. He looked over at Tia, then back to the screen. He closed his eyes, blocking the stare of Lord Damir. He needed to concentrate. {i}"Tia, you need to listen to me. You are fighting a lost cause here. If you want to be allowed to go home, you are going to have to make Lord Damir think you will listen to him. Don't let your pride cause others to suffer. Sometimes a leader, knows when to fall back and protect, by biding their time." {/i}
Cole had no idea what else to do. The girl was fighting hard. He knew it was a losing battle. Lord Damir never lost.
TIA
"Tia, you need to listen to me. You are fighting a lost cause here. If you want to be allowed to go home, you are going to have to make Lord Damir think you will listen to him. Don't let your pride cause others to suffer. Sometimes a leader, knows when to fall back and protect, by biding their time."
DAMIR
Something, some thought was trying to push itself forward in his brain, but he couldn't get a grasp of it. He looked over at Tia, then back to the screen. He closed his eyes, blocking the stare of Lord Damir. He needed to concentrate. {i}"Tia, you need to listen to me. ......
Damir kept his eyes on the overhead screen. At first he thought Cole was not going to do as he asked, but Tia's image came up, so he knew Cole was trying to communicate with the girl.
Tia’s mental body was curled up due to the extreme pain she was feeling. “Please Mr. Cole, I need to get into the tree house. I need to talk with Marcus.” Tia’s teary eyes tried to will her brother to come out.
I am one thing, my friends are another!”
Tia knew she had to keep her captor’s focus on her.
“Lance, I hope Landon kept you out of what is happening?”
COLE
Damir kept his eyes on the overhead screen. At first he thought Cole was not going to do as he asked, but Tia's image came up, so he knew Cole was trying to communicate with the girl.
Cole watched the screen in front of him. He also kept an eye on what Lord Damir was doing. He knew by the expression on the man's face, that he realized Cole was trying. Tia was scared and that fear was making her not think as a leader. She had one thought in mind, get everyone else out of there. Cole also knew Tia was planning something.
... Damir chuckled. "No, Tia you are not going to get in the tree house ever again. If Frank Cole lets you in then pain will swamp your body and I will make sure your friends feel that pain. Maybe, if you decide to realize I am your Master and you are my Pet, I might let you visit the tree house."
That was a dangerous place .... because the only way back would be if she subconsciously felt safe again, before her mind would let her return to the real world.
... all of the faces of the others, Luke, Alec, Marco, Liam, Rubik, Moon and even Frank Cole's face flashed across the screen.
Cole was positive Lord Damir was telling Tia the literal truth. He also knew Lord Damir gave nothing without having another plan in mind, which would keep him with the advantage over everyone. He was agreeing to too much. He was making promises which he might keep litterally but there was always the verbal catch.
Cole just accepted the fact he was not going to be allowed to leave, at least anytime soon. Lord Damir had told him he would make sure he was cured of all of the beliefs the other world had put into his head, and he still had thoughts, concerning maybe the other world he lived in could have been right about some things. Cole tried not to have these thoughts, but the illness, Lord Damir said they had inflicted on him was powerful.
The Master was getting impatient. Cole tried one last thought. "The only way you have a chance to get back in the tree house is to give in to him. He means what he says, Tia. Your friends are about to suffer because of your stubbornness. "
Cole moaned. Tia had just painted a very large target on Lance and Landon. Lord Damir would not pass up the chance to at least bring Lance to the island. Lance had helped to train Tia. Lance was one rung up on the Ladder to getting Lord Damir's hooks into the Caretakers.
TIA
The key known as Marcus felt helpless as he tried to get out of Tia's safe place. He was only the little voice in her head, pure energy, given an existence by a little wizardry. He could not control Tia, although at the moment he wished he could, but he could be the holder of all of her brothers thoughts and wishes, he had ever told her about when he was alive. He knew she needed to be able to talk with him but he could do nothing, unless she made into the safety of the mental tree house. Tia was not ready to face the truth behind the reason she could not get inside. "Oh Tia, you still want to save Fixer. I did not shut you out, Fixer locked me In! See him for what he is truly doing!"
Tia listened but only heard the traitor finally considering her offer. "Mr. Cole, if I agree, then I want it to be all of my friends including..."
The Marcus key banged on the window of the tree house, "No Tia! You can't trust either of them!" He had to stop her but how. he saw the image of Tia's mental body laying almost unconscious. He had to go to her and thanks to Fixer, he couldn't.
Lance, one of his creators had given him every memory of Tia's brother Marcus' love for his little sister. He knew that to save Tia, he would need to talk to Fixer. "Fixer, the machine is killing her. Please release me so I can help my baby sister...Please, she is just a kid! Let Me Out!" He was pretty sure Fixer had no intention of releasing him. Marcus could only hope for Tia's sake, Fixer was willing to bargain.
Tia eyed the tree house as something within her gained strength. "All my Friends or No Deal! Starting with..." She felt extreme pain and saw that her leg had been bleeding. Her dizziness made her stop and close her eyes.
DAMIR/COLE
Cole closed his eyes and mentally said to the Key, "You are only making this worse. I am trying to get her sent home, but until she gives into Lord Damir's demands he will keep her here. He will keep her on the machine. I cannot let you out. Tia needs to do this consciously. She needs to give into his demands. It is the only thing which will save her."
Damir was still seeing glimpses of the tree house, and the man who was in the tree house, who he was coming to understand was a part of Tia's subconscious. There were even a couple more flashes of Lance Kildare, the head of the medical unit at Hogwarts. The girl was not listening. It was time to show her what could happen.
Walking over to Cole's chair, he leaned on the edge and looked into his Pet's eyes. "You are going to help me convince her once and for all. If you don't do what I say, I will personally cause her physical pain she will need to see a doctor to stop. Do you understand me Pet?"
Cole tried to sink deeper into the chair and look away as he nodded.
"Look at me Pet. Do not turn away from my eyes." Damir chuckled when Cole reluctantly looked back. There was real fear in the man's eyes, not something he saw there much. "Bring up the image of Luke." Damir looked at the screen. "Good, now show the boy in a lot of pain. I want him withering on the floor and yelling for Tia to stop the pain." The real Luke would not be in pain, at least nothing more than the good doctor at the Medical Center, might be causing. He needed Tia to think he was though. "When I tell you to show her, I want you to connect and then give her a good show. Do not stop until I tell you to. Do you understand Pet?"
When he received a nod, he walked back to Tia's entrapment. He picked up the mike and said, "I know you are not passed out, Pet. I can see the information of your heart rate and breathing on the screen out here. So you still wish to fight me, Pet. I told you what I would do if you didn't give in. The only way to stop me is to agree to my terms. Watch Pet, this is all your fault." Damir looked over at Cole and nodded. The next thing he heard was Tia's scream. He looked at the monitor and saw Luke on the floor of the main hall, withering in pain. He heard the boy call for Tia to stop the pain, begging her to stop the pain.
TIA
The key known as Marcus had heard Fixer and shook. The man was saying it was due to him that Tia was being hurt. "Please Fixer, I can't let her die. I know from memories given to make me that you and ..." Marcus stopped as he watched because of him making Tia think her leg was bleeding..."Luke, Please Fixer. It was not her fault. Please Fixer, Tia was not faking. I made her think she had lost to much blood." Marcus had to stop this. He heard Tia scream.
Tia awoke as she heard Luke scream. Looking down at her leg, she saw it was fine. "Please stop! I have no idea why my mind showed my weakness in my leg. I will finish with my sentence, Just please Stop hurting Luke. You hurt him enough at the Shack! Please, all I was going to say is I want all my friends released starting with Mr. Cole and the elves..." Tia was crying.
Marcus cringed as he said, "Fixer, I did that for her. But hear me well, he and you better never enter her head again! I know what she is resigned to do. Think Bren... Fixer and for that you better stay away!" The key was furious that he had failed but unsure of whether he was madder at Fixer or himself. He watched in horror as Tia got the Andreas' look in her eyes. He wondered what Fixer planned to do now that the key had openly threaten him. The key gave a sly grin as he wondered if he was really a key at all. "Would a key dare threaten to kill for what Tia has been force to do? I do know her brother Marcus would. Marcus loved Tia and died to protect her."[/i
COLE
... "Please Fixer, I can't let her die. I know from memories given to make me that you and ... Luke, Please Fixer. It was not her fault. Please Fixer, Tia was not faking. I made her think she had lost to much blood." Marcus had to stop this. He heard Tia scream. ...
Cole closed his eyes again and thought, "She is not going to die, if she gives in. Even if she doesn't give in, she will not die, but her life will be a living hell. Lord Damir will keep her as a slave and use her in any way he sees fit, not just mentally but physically. You want to help her? Convince me you will convince her to give in and I will allow you to talk with her. She cannot come to the tree house, but you can communicate through me. Mess up and I will see that the tree house is locked for a very long time, closing you away from her completely."
... "Fixer, I did that for her. But hear me well, he and you better never enter her head again! ... Fixer and for that you better stay away!" The key ... wondered what Fixer planned to do now that the key had openly threaten him. ...
"You do not threaten me. I helped create you and I can take you out. Maybe you need a lesson on my power." Cole looked at Tia's face on the monitor. He saw the tree house she was staring at... Concentrating he started to shrink the exterior walls of the tree house. He could take it down to the size of an ant, eventually making it none existent. He saw horror on Tia's face. Tears leaked from her eyes and a whimper escaped between her lips with every exhale of her breath.
Cole connected with Tia, making sure the Key could also hear him. "So who will give in first. How long can you last?" Cole chuckled, with no happiness in the sound.
DAMIR
Damir watched as Cole closed his eyes tight. The man and tree house were again sharp on the screen. He would love to hear the conversation he knew was going on between Cole and Tia's subconscious. Other than a slight wavering in the picture, which Damir would bet had something to do with anger, he only had a picture of Tia's face, the man in the tree house and Cole's face to go by.
When Tia screamed, Damir smiled. Cole was doing an excellent job of portraying Luke in pain and anguish. He had the boy withering on the stone floor of the main hall, screaming for Tia to make the pain go away.
Damir picked up the mike. "You can make this all stop, Pet. I have told you my terms. They are the only ones I will agree to. Either agree to them or Luke will stay in pain. Maybe I can add one of the others to the mix. Liam is a scared little Pet, but he would look just as nice as Luke looks, with the pain making his muscles cramp. Luke's pain is all your fault Pet. Agree to my demands and he will be released from its agonizing hold."
Damir watched the monitor, fascinated at seeing the tree house slowly start to shrink. He wondered if that actually would shrink the spot in Tia's subconscious where she considered her safe place to be. Cole was going to be a real gem to have as his pet. It was going to be interesting seeing how the wizard handled others, older and probably wiser than the girl.
Tia's face had taken on the look of someone staring death in the eyes. Damir checked her heart and breathing rates. Both were elevated but still within the safety zone. He motioned to the tech to watch the signs. The tech returned a nod, and reached in a drawer, bringing out two hypodermic needles. The med's would not knock Tia out, but they would calm her. She would still feel the horror of the moment, both mentally and physically, but her body would be blocked from reacting to the stimulus.
The mirthless chuckle Cole gave, made Damir smile. The man was fully working for him. Even if it was to save the girl, because Cole would know Tia, could be kept in a state of helplessness for ever. Cole had been shown what Damir was capable of, whether the captive was male of female, so he would have a clear picture of the possibilities of what he could do to the sweet young thing lying at his mercy on the chair. He watched and waited for what he knew was coming.

DAMIR
Cole closed his eyes again and thought, ...
Tia awoke as she heard Luke scream. Looking down at her leg, she saw it was fine.
When Tia screamed, Damir smiled. Cole was doing an excellent job of portraying Luke in pain and anguish. He had the boy withering on the stone floor of the main hall, screaming for Tia to make the pain go away.
Agree to my demands and he will be released from its agonizing hold."
... Concentrating (Cole) started to shrink the exterior walls of the tree house.
Cole connected with Tia, making sure the Key could also hear him. "So who will give in first. How long can you last?" Cole chuckled, with no happiness in the sound.
TIA
"... Convince me you will convince her to give in and I will allow you to talk with her. She cannot come to the tree house, but you can communicate through me. Mess up and I will see that the tree house is locked for a very long time, closing you away from her completely."
Damir picked up the mike. "You can make this all stop, Pet. I have told you my terms. ... Liam is a scared little Pet, but he would look just as nice as Luke looks, with the pain making his muscles cramp. ... Agree to my demands and he will be released from its agonizing hold."
"You do not threaten me. I helped create you and I can take you out. ..." Concentrating he started to shrink the exterior walls of the tree house. ... He saw horror on Tia's face. Tears leaked from her eyes and a whimper escaped between her lips with every exhale of her breath.
COLE
... Other than a slight wavering in the picture, which Damir would bet had something to do with anger, he only had a picture of Tia's face, the man in the tree house and Cole's face to go by.
Cole tried hard to block some of what he was doing. He knew in the back of his brain he was giving Damir information about his abilities which would come back and haunt him eventually.
When Tia screamed, Damir smiled. Cole was doing an excellent job of portraying Luke in pain and anguish. He had the boy withering on the stone floor of the main hall, screaming for Tia to make the pain go away.
Damir picked up the mike. "You can make this all stop, Pet. ... Luke's pain is all your fault Pet. Agree to my demands and he will be released from its agonizing hold."
Concentrating (Cole) started to shrink the exterior walls of the tree house. ... The tech ... reached in a drawer, bringing out two hypodermic needles.
Concentrating (Cole) started to shrink the exterior walls of the tree house. ... The tech ... reached in a drawer, bringing out two hypodermic needles.
(The Key), .... “How can I trust either that maniac or you that her fate would be any different should I talk her into giving in? .... If I do what you want, how can I be sure it is not his puppet that is asking. That it is one of my creators. Prove to me that even a small part of the true you remains. Tell me something only you, Marco and Antonio knew about the night Marco and his unit disappeared. ...
(Tia) “Please Fixer?”... ]“Sorry, I failed to stand strong against the Traitor of the PACT. Sorry, I failed you guys, Sir.”
DAMIR
Cole tried hard to block some of what he was doing. He knew in the back of his brain he was giving Damir information about his abilities which would come back and haunt him eventually.
Damir continued to watch the screen closely. Cole was concentrating, a little to hard in his mind. The man was not just accepting his fate, he was still fighting it. Damir had never come across such stubbornness. Cole was at the point he would do what he was told, but it was not instantaneous obedience.
Cole had to make the Key think it was the old him. He imagined the ring was still on his hand, a ring all of them had received, and whispered Chessmaster.
Cole ... saw the moment Tia gave in. He hoped Damir saw the same thing. It would get both of them off the machine.
TIA
Picking up the mike he said, "Very good Pet. Now I am going to let you join me back in the main room. If you are good and do exactly as I say, quickly, I will let you stay with me there. If you fight me again, I will discipline you and your friends. I will let you earn the release of your friends through your actions but you will also earn their pain through your actions. I do not need them so I can treat them as I see fit, not worrying if one of them dies. Understand me Pet, understand me well. Their lives will depend on what you do or don't do."
The tech nodded back, raised the dark dome over Tia and undid her straps. He helped her sit up. "Stay there for a moment until I check you out." The tech looked into her eyes and ears. He ran his hand down her back. He then ran his other hand down her front. He wasn't gentle.
Tia cringed as all she wanted to do was smack the man. “I do that though and my friends will be the ones to suffer.”
He ran his hands down her legs to her ankles and rotated each of her feet. He took an empty needle and jabbed it into the bottom of her feet, causing her to yell. "Very good you have feeling in your feet. You may follow Master Damir, where he wishes to take you."
When the tech stuck her feet with the needle Tia yelled as all she could think about was her betrayal to her father and brother’s values and beliefs. She wondered if she would ever live up to the leader that protected her people.
Damir turned to Cole, who had gotten up and was bowing to him. "Take her to the main room. she will kneel at my chair until I join you. If she gives you any trouble beat her."
Tia cringed.
Receiving a nod from Cole, Damir watched as Tia was led out of the room.
He then led Tia to his chair and pushed her into position.
Cole motioned to another servant and said something to him. The servant nodded and went to the three poles lined up half way across the room. The shackles were made ready for Luke and Brennan. When all was ready he stood waiting, his hands in front of him and his head bowed.
Trickster shook as he watched the young fifteen year old. "What did that maniac put you through? Hold in there Tia, please princess," Marco whispered as he prayed that the Commander could pull her out of whatever depths she had went to in her mind.
As he sat down the four men were brought into the room. Cole made quick work of fastening the shackles around Brennan and Luke's, wrists and ankles. Both men were sweating.
Damir leaned down and patted the top of Tia's head, "Nice Pet... Very nice pet." Damir settled back in the chair and watched the room.
Trying her best not to cringed away from the traitor’s touch, Tia held her position as she froze as she asked, “Thank you Master.” Tia continued, “How...else...might...I...serve...you....Master?”
DAMIR
(Damir)"... Understand me Pet, understand me well. Their lives will depend on what you do or don't do"
(Tia) “I understand master. Could I request that the elves be returned to the school Master?” Tia pleaded ...
(Tia) “I understand master. Could I request that the elves be returned to the school Master?” Tia pleaded ...
"We will see how you do when you are back in the main room. It will depend on how fast you comply with my orders, pet. Now I will have you released." Damir put the mike down and headed for Cole's chair.
... The tech looked into her eyes and ears. He ran his hand down her back. He then ran his other hand down her front. He wasn't gentle... He ran his hands down her legs to her ankles and rotated each of her feet.
Damir shook his head slowly as he watched the tech examine Tia, to see if she would be able to get to the main room under her own power. The man was being a little too friendly, but Damir thought it might teach the girl that worse could happen to her if she wasn't under his protection.
Prove I can trust your word Master. Send the elves back to the school.”
(Marco) ... “Snap out of it Princess! Fixer, you would suppose to protect her! William trusted you Commander! Instead you betray us and help a couple of Traitors, break her!” Marco glared at Tamir, “Phantom, That girl is not anyone’s puppet! Not on my family’s watch!”
Tia shook as she tried to figure out where she had errored. As the servant headed towards the shackles, he bumped her. ..... Tia made her hands into fists. She had to be patient at least until her friends were out of danger.
Damir smiled when he saw Tia scramble back into position. He also saw the fists she made. She was a stubborn Pet. He wanted her obeying, but somehow that stubbornness was endearing. She would always be a challenge. It would make her compliance that much more enjoyable.\
Trickster shook as he watched the young fifteen year old. "What did that maniac put you through? Hold in there Tia, please princess," Marco whispered ....
Tamir hit Marco hard across his back with the crop in his hand. "I heard that Pet. It is good for you I was the only one."
(Tia) ... “How may I serve you Master? ... Master, can I request that Luke be sent back to the school? I have done as you requested and per our agreement I am requesting Luke be returned to the school” ...
Bren eyes darted from Luke to Tia. He knew that things were about to go from bad to worse. Tia would not even look at him or Luke. “What did you do to her?” Bren said scared for the children in the room.
Luke ... whispered to Fixer, “Is she going to be all right, Captain? It must have been worse then what that maniac put me and Liam through at the Shack.”
Luke ..... turned his head towards Alec and Liam, Luke noticed that both was knelt down. Alec’s eyes were looking at the floor. He heard from both a bare whisper, “What is your will, Lord Damir? How may we serve you?”
Trying her best not to cringed away from the traitor’s touch, Tia held her position as she froze as she asked, “Thank you Master.” Tia continued, "How.. .else... might... I... serve... you.... Master?”

"We will see how you do when you are back in the main room. It will depend on how fast you comply with my orders, pet. Now I will have you released." ...... "I have told you, Pet, you must earn their release. So far you have done nothing out of the ordinary, since I expect you to call me Master. The tests are coming, Pet. Hopefully you will get high marks."
Tamir backhanded Marco, ..."You will keep your mouth shut unless you are asked a question. ... You have not been given permission to do anything other than what I say.....Maybe I should let the guards do a bit of your training. It would be interesting to see how long it took for you to beg to come back to me. They can give you pain and never leave a mark, I have seen it. .....Now back on the plank on your hands and knees. You will raise your right hand and right knee off the plank and maintain that position until I tell you differently."
“Come on Phantom remember your true feelings concerning life. Remember what your own twin put you through five years ago. Chessmaster’s sister somehow beat the machine, you can too my friend.” Marco prayed that Tia’s actions would help pull Tamir back from whatever Damir had done to him.
Tamir hit Marco hard across his back with the crop in his hand. "I heard that Pet. It is good for you I was the only one."
"Ahhh, Pet, so stubborn. I told you before I will let you earn the release of your friends and I will, but Tia you haven't done anything yet to earn my choice of who will leave us. Yes, Pet, you call me Master and yes you bow before me, but that is to be expected of any of my servants or pets. ... until I have you do something that shows me you truly understand the power I have over you, and you comply immediately, then we will see which of these people go home." ....
Damir looked over at the young security guard. ...."What I did to her, Brennan my Pet, is no concern of yours. You do not ask the questions here, I do. Your time to give answers is very near."
Finally (Cole) focused, "She will be fine and happy as soon as she learns Lord Damir only has her best interest in mind. She is stubborn, but she will learn."
“According to my brother, Captain, Tia is a lot like her brother Marcus. Damir is trying in her eyes to break the bargain. If she proves his word is useless, then well you helped train us...” Luke gave a laugh. The Core was being trained by the members of PACT.
... "Well Pet, since I know you want to obtain the freedom of one of your companions, I think I will let you assist me in finding out some information." ... "Here... Now I am going to ask this man some questions. If he answers me then you can just stand there. If he refuses to answer me, you will whip him twice. ... Follow through with this request and I will choose one of your companions to return to the school. Shall we begin?"
Master, I will follow through on my part of the bargain as long as you do.”
... Damir took three steps back, crossed his arms over his chest and asked, "Brennan, besides the Head Mistress who do you take orders from?" Damir smiled and waited.
DAMIR
Tia said, “Master, your exact words of our bargain was, that I call you Master and I would be able to choose a friend that would be sent back to the school. That if I bowed then I got to choose another friend. For each order I obeyed, I would be able to choose a friend that you would then send back to the school. Master, I have honored my word and so if your word means anything...” ...
Damir rubbed his chin and pretended to think about what Tia was saying. He nodded to her, but didn't say any words. Too bad she didn't know he only had to follow the last agreement she had made with him. The one she was talking about, she never accepted, so it was null and void.
“Come on Phantom remember your true feelings concerning life." ... “Phantom, The Princess takes people at their word. .....
If his brother noticed he would be sent off to rest again, and he wanted to stay and learn.
... “Sorry Master if it seems I am being stubborn but a bargain is a bargain. I have done what you wanted by your own words. I therefore choose both elves and Luke.” Tia looked at Fixer and asked, “Since I can choose a fourth, would you like to be sent back to Hogwarts Gatherer?” ....
Brennan smiled, “The young princess is a lot like her brother Marcus. Your word is the only thing that she tests. It looks like it is Checkmate, Damir!” ...
Damir smiled. "Oh Pet, we are far from Checkmate on my side of the board."
Tia holding the whip said, “Yes Master but by your own words I bind you to our bargain. Master, I will follow through on my part of the bargain as long as you do.” ...

TIA
Tamir just turned and looked at Marco. "I thought I told you to shut up. Maybe this will help close your mouth." ... he pulled a ball-gag out ... He stuffed it into the man's mouth ... tying them extremely tight. ... Tamir fought the thoughts the man made his brain remember. If his brother noticed he would be sent off to rest again, and he wanted to stay and learn.
Damir again pretended to ponder what Tia was saying....
Damir smiled. "Oh Pet, we are far from Checkmate on my side of the board."
Damir continued to stand with his hands across his chest. "My word means a lot to me Tia as you are about to learn. During the early part of our question and answer session in the other room, I did agree to send one person home every time you bowed to me or called me Master. And I would have followed through with that.
Tia smiled but then was puzzled by his words. “That way the deal was it not?” Tia wondered confused.
Unfortunately you did not accept my proposal. If you remember we talked, or argued if you like, some more and I reissued my proposal in slightly different terms. I believe my exact words were...
' ...I will let you earn the release of your friends through your actions but you will also earn their pain through your actions. ...' Since this is the proposal you agreed to just before you were released, it will be the one we will follow. I will decide when you have done enough. I will decide who goes home, although I will take your suggestions into consideration....
Now where were we, oh yes, Brennan, besides the Head Mistress who do you take orders from?" Damir again waited.
“Master?”
DAMIR/ Cole
Marco noticed that Liam had raised his eyes slightly to see why Marco was shifting his gauze from the cloaked man to him.
Brennan smiled as he said, “Tia, made a deal with you only. Fixer and others have insured that none of us especially her ever fully break. I wonder what the Grand Alpha Matthew would think of the shady kidnapping of people he has stuck claim to? ... Markus days as Clan Enforcer are numbered.”
Damir stared at the young man spread eagle between the two poles. "What happens to Markus does not necessarily affect me. I don't need you to totally break. That would actually take some of the fun of controlling you out of it. You see Brennan Dawson, you are weak. You care about others and that is what I will use to make you my faithful pet, after of course you answer all of my questions."
...Tia’s ... chanced a glance at Fixer. “Do you remember what he is talking about?” ...
Tia’s eyes looked at the floor as she prayed he was wrong ...
Bren, “The Ministry of course, I am a Hit Wizard after all!”Bren hear several including a few of Damir’s own guards laugh. He braced himself for Tia’s strikes.
Tia was unsure as she was sure that Bren had indeed spoke truth. She look down at the ground then at the traitor that now, by her own words, was her Master. “Master?”
Tia was unsure as she was sure that Bren had indeed spoke truth. She look down at the ground then at the traitor that now, by her own words, was her Master. “Master?”

TIA
Cole kept his eyes glued to the stone floor at his feet. The Key Marcus, Tia's subconscious, was again talking to him. Cole inwardly chuckled. He envisioned the tree house growing ever smaller, while he made it impossible for the mental entity to shrink in size. He thought, "You do not have to tell her anything. Master Damir will control her through her need to always follow through on what she agrees to. She is young. She will learn or she will always be in his control, where she should be."
Damir looked at Tia and held up five fingers then motioned toward Brennan. Tears were running down her face but she brought the whip in contact with the young man’s back five times.
Damir then moved her back so she was standing to the left of Luke. He ran his hand down the boy's back. So smooth and unmarred. "So boy, it seems you have never felt the bite of the whip. I guarantee you it is not pleasant. Damir smiled when he saw Tia realize that her next use of the whip would be on Luke's back.
He turned back to Brennan and said, "Well that is part of an answer, but I think you can do better. I happen to know you and others belong to an organization which is called The
Caretakers. Who do you answer too there?"

Brennan looked from Luke to Tia as he started to speak...

MARKUS
COLE
... “Stop Fixer.
His head was beginning to throb.
... “I won’t be controlled and I will insure that neither will my little sister! I dealt with Darrel for bullying her and I will deal with even you if I must, though it will break my heart to use the very skills you trained me to control, I use against you.”
He even heard her voice in his head...
.... "Did you foresee this moment? Was that your way of preparing me to handle what I am by my own words now having to do? I won’t dishonor my family’s memory by crying. Instead Mr. Cole hear me well as one day I will kill that traitor I now am forced to call Master! He has made me a threat to not only the Core but my very protectors!”

Cole grimaced. The voices in his head were driving him crazy. Master Damir would not be happy if he gave into them, but they were so strong.... He looked over at the young girl named Tia. She was fighting the Master's truths. He even heard her voice in his head...
Damir then moved her back so she was standing to the left of Luke.
Both Tia and Bren laughed as Bren said, “You are right Luke and by the way welcome back from your mental safe point. Now shut it as I am not having Tia blaming herself for what is about to happen.”
He turned back to Brennan and said, "Well that is part of an answer, but I think you can do better. I happen to know you and others belong to an organization which is called The
Caretakers. Who do you answer too there?"
Brennan looked from Luke to Tia as he started to speak...
Caretakers. Who do you answer too there?"
Brennan looked from Luke to Tia as he started to speak...
Damir turned toward the front entrance as Markus bust in. Straitening his shoulders and standing to his full height he walked to the side of Luke ready to explain himself.

MARKUS
The Clan Enforcer busted in and as the female elf came into view his heart dropped as he said, “I gather you are Moon, Grand Sire Tal’mac’s daughter and the Princess’ personal guard? Is your nephew Rub’ik here as well?”
Markus MacIntosh backhanded Damir as he said in a commanding voice, “Damir, you have better explain extremely fast cause not only am I furious but Grand Alpha Matthew has sent His Personal Shadow Hunters to return these elves to Grand Sire Tal’mac. You or whoever is responsible for their capture has gotten the Elfin Council furious and threatening all out war!”
Alec smiled as he rose and asked, “What are our orders from the Grand Alpha?”
DAMIR
The Clan Enforcer busted in and as the female elf came into view his heart dropped as he said, “I gather you are Moon, Grand Sire Tal’mac’s daughter and the Princess’ personal guard? Is your nephew Rub’ik here as well?”
He turned to the tech that came with the Shadow Hunters, “Do what you were ordered to do.”
The Shadow Hunters removed the collar off of Alec’s throat as one of them said, “Why are you a Shadow Hunter being held as a common slave?”
Alec just shrugged as he glanced at Damir.
Alec just shrugged as he glanced at Damir.
Alec smiled as he rose and asked, “What are our orders from the Grand Alpha?”
BRENNAN
.... Because she fought me, you all are here.”
Damir looked at Tia. "I do hope you have learned to not fight the inevitable, girl. See what it is doing to your friends?"
Tia glared at Damir as she said with a bite to her voice, “Yes Master, I understand perfectly what I must do!” Tia understood to protect those she cared about she would need to insure that Damir was never a threat to them.
Damir turned toward the front entrance as Markus bust in. Straitening his shoulders and standing to his full height he walked to the side of Luke ready to explain himself.
The Clan Enforcer busted in and as the female elf came into view his heart dropped as he said, “I gather you are Moon, Grand Sire Tal’mac’s daughter and the Princess’ personal guard? Is your nephew Rub’ik here as well?”
Moon nodded and bowed slightly. ... "Yes my name is Moon in the Human language. Rub'ik, my nephew is still in the Hospital. ...I would love to have him here with me, Master...."
Tia blow as she said, “Moon! He is Not Your Master! You don’t have to call anybody Master. You are A Free Elf and these Wolves will show you Respect or They will Be Facing Me!” She glared at the man that Moon was talking to. “Is That Clear!”
Alec groaned as he said bowing to Moon, “Moon could you kindly calm your Princess down? Thanks to Damir, Your charge is in a Very Protective Mood. I really don’t want to explain to Grand Alpha Matthew how his Clan Enforcer and Shadow Hunters were killed as a result of the Egyptian Princess misunderstand their intentions towards you and my Blood Brother Rub’ik.” Alec knew admitting his link to Rub’ik might be a bad move on his part. Alec was just furious that Damir still had Rub’ik in the hospital.
Tia inwardly shook cause she was unsure if they would believe she had come willingly. She smiled as Alec looked straight at the Shadow Hunter.
Alec was furious, “Damir lies Kurthra. One Tia was forcibly taken from the school at the same time as Luke was. In fact, Damir’s personal guards had the princess at knife point to force Luke to comply. Moon is Tia’s assistant and personal bodyguard. Tia has learned early in their friendship that Moon sees Tia as Moon’s personal responsibility and if she had asked Moon to stay at Hogwarts...” Alec looked from Tia to Moon. He then chuckled as he finished, “ Kurthra, you saw for yourself how Moon acted when Tia reminded her that Moon is not a slave and does not have to call anybody Master. It will take Tia quite a while to undo what Moon considers an error on her part to protect Her Princess!”
Turning to Tia, Alec said still chuckling, “Have you ever found out Moon’s way of dealing with errors, Tia? Rub’ik, I hope don’t throw tatrums like his brother. Though I got him a bag just in case.
Tia shook her head, “Alec, this is the first time I have seen her act like this. I should not have yelled.”
She went to Moon and hugged her, “Moon, you have done nothing wrong. I was not mad at you. It is the wolves I am furious with. Please Moon, what must I do to calm you down? Please tell me how to fix this as you are the very best at protecting me. I am not mad.” Tia glared at Damir. The traitor would pay for Tia accidentally upsetting her friend Moon.
She turned to Fixer, “Please Gatherer, what have I done to upset Moon so? Help me calm her down as she was your friend when I met her. At my wedding.”
Marco had been listening and smiled as he thought, “Tal’mac must be furious. I guess I am in for a Major Time out when I see Uncle Tal’mac again.” He hoped Moon was more like her nephew Darik then like her father Tal’mac. “If she is like Tal’mac, Tia is going to learn real quick to sleep upside down and learn the lesson she has forgotten. Yeah, it might be wise for me to stay here until uncle Tal’mac calms down....”
The tech, Lyon Lehr looked at Kurthra as he asked, “Sir, Are my orders to be carried out now or prior to your departure? Reason I am requesting clarification on the time of destruction is the techs here as well as the Clan Enforcer might not be happy with my orders. I wish no...especially since I am new to the Clan.” He paused rubbing his neck and swallowing hard.
Alec understood the tech’s fear as he tried to make it easier for the tech, “Sir, I think the tech fears retaliation for him doing what Grand Alpha Matthew ordered? He might also fear since he is a newly bitten wolf that tech here will refuse to allow him to carry his orders out. As in my reports, those under the Clan Enforcer fear him and his men especially his step-son Damir. I must even follow Damir’s orders or suffer my elder brother Bill being sent to the feeders. Bill is being held here supposedly by Grand Alpha Matthew’s orders?” Alec was hoping Matthew had not ordered Bill being brought here from the main island. He glared at Damir wondering if he should have just went to his uncle Matthew.
Alec smiled as he thought,

(Brennan) “You are right Luke and by the way welcome back from your mental safe point. Now shut it as I am not having Tia blaming herself for what is about to happen.”
(Brennan) When Fixer comes to his true self again, then and only then do you listen to his advice, understand Princess! Until that time Frank Cole and Marco are Code Reds, Understand they like Me are Code Reds!”
The man was talking about him being a Code Red when he became his true self again. Lord Damir said he was already his true self. He chuckled to himself. He was never going back to that evil life again among the Wizards and the unbelievers.
..... Damir turned toward the front entrance as Markus bust in. Straitening his shoulders and standing to his full height he walked to the side of Luke ready to explain himself.
The Clan Enforcer busted in and as the female elf came into view his heart dropped as he said, “I gather you are Moon, Grand Sire Tal’mac’s daughter and the Princess’ personal guard? Is your nephew Rub’ik here as well?”
...."Yes my name is Moon in the Human language. Rub'ik, my nephew is still in the Hospital. The doctor said he was not done with him yet." She bowed low, taking a chance. "I would love to have him here with me, Master...."
...."Yes my name is Moon in the Human language. Rub'ik, my nephew is still in the Hospital. The doctor said he was not done with him yet." She bowed low, taking a chance. "I would love to have him here with me, Master...."
Markus MacIntosh backhanded Damir as he said in a commanding voice, “Damir, you ... or whoever is responsible for their capture has gotten the Elfin Council furious and threatening all out war!”
Cole took a step back, before he realized it could get him in serious trouble. Moving without permission was a punishable offense. Cole quickly realized Lord Damir had a bigger problem.
Lord Damir was in a whole lot of trouble with the head of the Clan.
(Damir) "The elves came with the girl. The female is some sort of servant to her. I know that the elves have been of great interest to the Clan. The Doctor has been able to discover information which will help in the future."
(Alec) ... “Damir lies Kurthra. One Tia was forcibly taken from the school at the same time as Luke was. In fact, Damir’s personal guards had the princess at knife point to force Luke to comply. Moon is Tia’s assistant and personal bodyguard....

(Alex) “Sir, I think the tech fears retaliation for him doing what Grand Alpha Matthew ordered? He might also fear since he is a newly bitten wolf that tech here will refuse to allow him to carry his orders out
He turned to the tech that came with the Shadow Hunters, “Do what you were ordered to do.” ... The tech nodded. "Yes, Lord Markus." He headed for the stairs to the highest point in the castle.
He turned to the tech that came with the Shadow Hunters, “Do what you were ordered to do.” ... The tech nodded. "Yes, Lord Markus." He headed for the stairs to the highest point in the castle.
The Shadow Hunters removed the collar off of Alec’s throat as one of them said, “Why are you a Shadow Hunter being held as a common slave?”
Alec just shrugged as he glanced at Damir.

Alec just shrugged as he glanced at Damir.
Damir wanted to protest. ... The look on Markus' face told him he better keep his mouth shut ...
(Alec) “What are our orders from the Grand Alpha?”
...."We are to return the Elves to their Grand Sire, if we found them here. We are also supposed to send who ever brought the elves here," the Head Shadow Hunter glanced between Markus and Damir, then back at Alec, "to Grand Alpha Matthew or to Hogwarts in chains. My best guess is that the Elfin Grand Sire will be there waiting for whoever it is." Damir cringed.

MARKUS
Moon nodded and bowed slightly. ... "Yes my name is Moon in the Human language. Rub'ik, my nephew is still in the Hospital. The doctor said he was not done with him yet... I would love to have him here with me, Master...." She watched as he walked to stand in front of ... Master Damir.
Markus MacIntosh backhanded Damir ... Damir did not fall to the floor, but he stumbled back several steps. He stood straight, holding his cheek and lied. "The elves came with the girl. The female is some sort of servant to her. I know that the elves have been of great interest to the Clan. The Doctor has been able to discover information which will help in the future." ...
(Alex) “Sir, I think the tech fears retaliation for him doing what Grand Alpha Matthew ordered? He might also fear since he is a newly bitten wolf that tech here will refuse to allow him to carry his orders out
The tech nodded. "Yes, Lord Markus." He headed for the stairs to the highest point in the castle.
The tech nodded. "Yes, Lord Markus." He headed for the stairs to the highest point in the castle.
Alec just shrugged as he glanced at Damir. ... Markus' face told him he better keep his mouth shut and see what else was about to happen.
(Alec) “What are our orders from the Grand Alpha?”
(Kurthra)...."We are to return the Elves to their Grand Sire, if we found them here. ..We are also supposed to send who ever brought the elves here... to Grand Alpha Matthew or to Hogwarts in chains. My best guess is that the Elfin Grand Sire will be there waiting for whoever it is." Damir cringed.

Cole looked at the main door which opened allowing Rub'ik to hobble in. The Elf looked like he was in pain as he went to Moon and bowed slightly. He then turned and examined the room, his eyes stopping on Lord Markus. He bowed again and asked, "You sent for me?"
(Cole) ... "You and Moon are to return to your home, Rub'ik. I'm not sure where the rest of you are headed." Cole saw Luke and Brennan being taken down from the wall.
Markus watched in wonder as the female Elf, Moon, healed Brennan's back. The dampening system was down. He needed to get everyone gone quickly before the Elves decided to show him more of their powers. Matthew would just have to deal with them.
Alec ... thought,
When the Elf nodded, when no one said anything, the hairs on the back of Markus' neck prickled.
