Landon and Tia are Joined (Isle of Perdition)

FRANK COLE
Cole had been up since 6 am, to start his day. He had done the required morning exercises with all the men and woman at the barracks and then gone to the training grounds and run the gauntlet. The gauntlet was a corridor between two lines of men and woman, where they tried their best to beat you with a stick of their choice. Since every man and women in field training had to run the gauntlet at least three times a week, Cole tried to make it there at least that many times. He never asked any of the members of his troops to do anything he wasn't willing and able to do.
After that he had returned to his office and worked on paperwork and reports while eating a snack. He was going to have breakfast with Lance at around 8:30 am.. Up until this point it had been a pretty normal morning, but the next hour or so was going to be different. He had given the idea a lot of thought and come to the conclusion, after re-reading his research, that Landon Russo and Tia Andreas needed to be joined in marriage. They were both past the 15 year old requirement of the Egyptian Magical Wizarding world and everyone who was close to Tia knew they were soul-bound. Cole had found out that Esmeralda, Landon's mother was pushing hard for her eldest son Jackson to be married to Tia. She had already petitioned the Egyptian Magical Council for a contract for the two children. Tia would someday rule the council, whether she was forced to or chose to do it on her own, and there were those who wanted the Darker Sects backing on their own agenda. From what Cole had been able to discover she was slowly gaining ground. By the time Tia became of age to choose what she wanted to do, in two years, the possibly was strong that Esmeralda would have enough people behind her, to have Tia and Jackson joined together, whether Tia wanted it or not.
The problem that Cole was having was Tarik and some of the other's involved, who were insisting on letting Landon and Tia find their own way. It would be too late by the time they came to the realization or what was happening. Cole had decided after a lot of thought to not wait that long.
Looking at the Black Forest Coo-Coo Clock on the wall, he saw it was 8:20. Right on schedule, Punta entered the office from the special corridor, Cole had built so the elves could travel throughout the building without being seen. The corridor started in the kitchen, ran across the front of the Barracks, dipping underground where the main room was, so there could be windows in that room, and came back up on the other side of the room, traveling the rest of the way along the front of the building. There were hidden doors in each of the rooms it passed… the kitchen, library, Cole's office, the file room and the special interrogation room at the very end of the hall which Cole used. There was also a door which ran down to the basement section where the training room and prison cells were located.
As Punta set the covered breakfast plates on the table, there was a knock at the door letting Cole know Lance had arrived. Walking over to his desk he pushed the button to open the door and said, "Come in Doctor. You are just in time." Cole motioned toward the dining table near the kitchenette.
Lance had not slept due to worry for Tarik. His great uncle was stubborn at times. Lance wondered if he was somewhat to blame for Tarik's attitude towards Fixer. He knew it had hurt Tarik to be questioned by himself and Richard concerning his involvement with Daniel Marsden. Lance's great uncle was a proud and honorable man, who had looked at the inquiry as an attack on him personally. Lance needed to insure that Fixer understood his usual tricks would only destroy Tarik. Lance was sure that Tarik was resisting even listening to Fixer in fear of others thinking him a traitor.
Lance entered and asked, "You wanted to see me, Fixer? Where is my uncle Tarik? You haven't..."
Cole held up his hand. "I have done nothing with your Great Uncle but talk with him. I left him last night around 10:00 pm and told him to get some rest." Cole walked to the table and motioned for Lance to follow him. When they were seated he continued, "Tarik will be leaving about 11:00 via Portkey. From there he can go anywhere he wants and do anything he wants." Cole uncovered their breakfast plates and poured some hot tea for both of them. "The only promise I have gotten from your great uncle is that he will answer five questions for me and I even left it open he may be able to answer the questions via Owl." Cole smiled, because he knew Tarik would be back one way or another. "Now have some breakfast, because I have another subject to talk with you about." Cole picked up his fork and took a bite off his plate.
Lance smiled upon hearing that Tarik was okay. He said as he remembered what Tarik had said, "So Landon and Marco will be leaving at 11AM?" He wondered what or whom else Fixer wanted to talk about. He prayed it was not Tia or anymore of his friends.
"Marco may be leaving soon after that. He has been getting in some extra training. As for Landon, you know he is scheduled to not leave until this evening. And I hope to be able to stick to that plan." Cole put down his fork and leaned back in his chair. "Actually Landon is the one I want to talk with you about. The boy is great. He has really worked hard this past couple of days and I would like to reward him, with something he very much desires and which I have it in my power to give to him."
Lance sadly shook his head as he said, "Then I doubt Tarik will leave. What are you up to now Fixer? I agree with Tarik. Landon is not like his brother. Please Frank, don't turn him against Tia. Or use him to hold over Tia."
Picking up his fork and taking another bite before he answered Cole said, "I am afraid Tarik is not going to have a choice on whether he leaves or not." Chuckling he added, "Don't look at me that way Doc. When he leaves, he will be in a good mood this I promise you." Cole chuckled to himself, because he knew he would be able to keep this promise. If everything worked like he planned, Tarik would actually be relaxed and possibly even smiling. "As far as Landon is concerned, I have said it more than once that I like the boy, and think he is going to be a great consort for Tia. I have a question for you. Why, when both of them have reched the age where they can be joined, are they still not even under contract to each other?" Cole continued to eat, glancing out of the corner of his eye at Lance, who didn't seem very interested in his breakfast.
Lance could not help but chuckle as he said, "This I have got to see. Tarik will never again allow himself to trust. After the ministry forced Arianna's hand concerning Tarik's brief visit to Dojo Island, Tarik has decided to never allow that again. Fixer, leave my great uncle alone. He was almost destroyed when me and Richard were ordered to question him..." Lance remembered that day as he thought, "Tarik was more hurt by the fact that he thought Tia and I believed the lies then by the inquiry by the ministry. His family honor and loyalty was put into question. I doubt he will ever fully trust again and the Core especially Tia no longer trusts the Ministry because of what they did to first Brennan and then Tarik. Even with Seth as Minister of Magic, Tia still has become like she was in her first year." Lance knew that Tarik was blaming himself for Tia's lack of trust.
He said, "It is simple why me and Tarik have not betrothed Tia and Landon. They have never asked. When Landon asked after Tia left, you saw how fast I agreed to help him with the needed documents. Tarik and I both want it to be Tia's choice. Though Tarik would like for her to wait until they finish school. He believes this term, they need to concentrate on Tia's OWLs and Landon's Newts. Especially after what The Dark One is trying and has done..."
Cole nodded as he pushed his plate away and pulled his tea mug over to in front of him. He leaned back in his chair and crossed his legs. Lance's thoughts about how Tia had become very withdrawn in her trust could add a bit of a problem to Cole's intentions about joining her and Landon now, but it was not a large problem. "Tarik's idea would be good although I can't see it happening. Because I like the young ones, I have been doing some research. You and Tarik, do realize that Esmeralda, Landon's mother, has partitioned the Egyptian Magical Council three times now to have a contract drawn up for Jackson, her oldest to marry Tia? It seems the last one is being given a lot of consideration, since Tia has become of age so to speak."
Lance smiled as he said, "The only way the EMC can enforce anything about Tia is if Tarik is found to be an unfit adviser and me lacking in my duties as Blood Guardian. I have backed my great uncle. It was the reason somebody in both the EMC and the MOM tried to get Tarik branded a traitor. It was hinted that if Tarik was found guilty then Tia would be put in the guardianship of Khalid and sent to his people in Egypt. Fixer, the Caretakers will never allow that. Tia is furious about what they did to Brennan, Adarian and Tarik. If anybody gets wind that I am helping you or Tarik has been away from Hogwarts..." Lance was worried that it would be all that Esmeralda would need to get Tia in Khalid's care. He had been told that Khalid had agreed for Tia to be forced into a marriage with Jackson. He still had the letter from the Egyptian Ministry.
"As far as I know they won't find out he was here. I will tell you though Esmeralda is gaining sigficant ground in getting Jackson contracted to Tia. She has the backing of some very dark wizards who have been putting pressure on some of the weaker members of the council. It worries me that not even a contract exist protecting Landon and Tia's union. A contract with, the right parties involved would not be difficult to arrange. You would just to have a guardian from both sides agree, draw up the proper papers, get them signed and then the two would at least have some barrier to others trying to separate them. It would only take a couple of hours to accomplish."
Lance cringed as he said, "The letter I received from Egypt just before coming here states that one of those pushing is Uncle Khalid through his contacts on the EMC. Antonio has been told by letter that the test he took to see if he or Khalid was the father of Landon, showed that Khalid is the father of Landon, Jackson and the oldest girl. Fixer that means the contract would need Khalid's signature, he won't even come to discuss it with Tarik instead Esmeralda speaks for him as the boys' mother..." Lance had sent repeated letters to Khalid requesting they talk. He had never received an answer except that letter from Egypt. Lance had been so sure that Landon was Antonio's and now he had been told that Khalid was the boy's father.
Cole nodded. "It would not be difficult to get Khalid's signature on the paperwork. Khalid does not have any say so in what I do in my little paradise here Doc, but I still have the ability to contact him, if only by Owl. I assure you he is for the idea. All we need now is for someone who has the ability in Tia's family to agree to the joining and sign the papers." Cole looked pointedly at Lance, because the man and Tarik both had the right to make the decision. "Once the papers are signed, then the young ones will be questioned to see if they would like it to happen now. It would also just about guarantee that the EMC never found out about my dealings with Tarik."
Lance shook his head as he said, "I have tried, Khalid won't even return the letters. Go into my robe and you will find how he answered me. A howler from Egypt. Me and Tarik are the only two that can for Tia. Tia has not come to either of us yet about her wanting to be betrothed let alone married to anybody. I will not do anything until Tia asks. And even then I will only approve of Landon." He would not betroth Tia to somebody she did not want to wed. It was what her father had wanted. Lance and Tarik both wanted Tia to decide things for herself.
Rubbing his chin and then settling his arms back on the arms of the chair Cole asked, "So if Tia asked you for permission to be engaged or married to Landon you would have nothing against signing the paperwork?"
As long as it was her choice and they were not pushed, Yes." Lance said but then added, "The problem is Landon just stated his intentions. Tia has never once stated her intentions, let alone her feelings. Maybe once Landon and her talk like Landon plans when he returns to Hogwarts? Maybe then, Tia will come to me and Tarik with how she feels like she did when we told her that Jackson was asking. She does not even like Jackson, which is why we both said no to Esmeralda. Then I find that the witch and Khalid went behind mine and Tarik's back." That howler had infuriated Lance.
Looking at his watch, Cole stood up and said, "I have another appointment in about twenty minutes, so Doctor I would like you to go to the Training Ground. One of today's lessons there is first aid and a Specialist cannot be there. The Regular I have teaching the class is good, but I think he needs someone to help with some of the finer points." Cole started toward the door. "We will talk more on this subject this afternoon, when I have some more free time. If you need anything before then Mecum," Cole motioned toward the elf assigned to Lance, "can get a message to me."
Lance gave a sly grin as he said, "Tell Khalid that I will only accept Landon and it will be put in such a way that neither you nor him can use the contract to hold over either of their heads. I will not have Landon nor Tia used against their friends or family. When Tia and Landon talk at Hogwarts if they want this then they will ask. I will not sign anything before they formally request and most certainly not here where you can get more control over them."
Cole nodded as he led Lance to the door. "I will definitely keep that in mind." Cole had every intention of having Lance sign the papers on the island. There was always a way to get it done, so he would not let that little kink worry him at the moment.

LANDON RUSSO
Landon had been told to report to the Captain's office. He had been given time to have a shower and was able to grab a snack from the ever present buffet in the main dining room. The way he had it figured this was going to be a pep talk. He would be leaving later on that day. He only had two classes to take and then he would be able to say he completed the Trainee course. It had been hard work and he was sore, but it had been fun and he felt better about himself. Most of the Captains men and women were really nice. He had dealt with a few of the Specialist before on the visits he and the rest of the Core had made for some fun training, training which most of the adults at the school, thought they didn't need. Landon smiled and headed down the hall to the Captain's office.
When he flicked on the screen behind his desk he watched as one quarter of it showed Landon on his way to his office. The boy was supposedly coming to give a report on what he was doing and how well he felt, he was doing. It was also supposed to be a time when Cole could build his confidence, by telling him how proud he was of him. It would start that way, but Cole intended the meeting to end differently. When Landon was at the door, Cole pushed the button on his desk to open it and said, "Come in Trainee."
Landon quickly walked up to stand in front of the Captain's desk and snapped to attention and saluted saying, "Trainee Russo reporting as ordered Sir."
Retuning the boy's salute Cole said, "At ease Landon. Please have a seat." Motioning toward the two chairs in front of his desk, Cole watched as the boy sat, but was still holding his spine straight and was definitely not at ease . Cole walked around the desk and sat on the front edge of it. Grabbing the front edge with his hands, he streatched his feet out in front of him and crossed his ankles. "You can be at ease Landon. This is just going to be a friendly talk between us… not a military briefing." Cole watched as the boy's shoulders relaxed and he was watching him through slightly lowered eyes. "Look at me, Landon. I will always expect you to look at me when I am talking with you and you are not at attention." When the boys eyes met his, Cole smiled. "Now, the first thing I wanted to tell you is how proud I am of the way you have conducted yourself the past couple of days. I know it has not been easy, and I have had nothing but good reports. You can be very proud of yourself." Cole needed to get the boy talking. "Tell me what was the best and worst part of my training. Don't worry about telling me something is wrong with it. I listen to my men and what they tell me." Cole had purposely added the words my men.
Landon had found nothing wrong with any of it. He smiled as he wondered how much of what he had learned could he tweak to use with the Core members. He knew Tia was always looking for ways to improve their training. His eyes got a weird faraway look and a twinkle as he thought about Tia. He missed her and just wanted to get back to her. He said quietly, "I guess what I loved about it was the challenge it gave me. The only problem I found was not having Tia here. She does a workout that causes me to wish she had been here. Tia might be a fifth year but she works out like she is my age. She might have thought the pits were too revealed. not hidden enough but she would have loved the challenge of it." Just talking about her made him want to get back to her. Landon knew that he would get a full report when he got back but he was worried that his mother would succeed while he was on the island. Landon could not bare the thought of losing her especially to Jackson.
Cole smiled and nodded. He was hearing what the boy did not say as much as what the boy was telling him. "I will have the whole scenario of the pit training checked into. Thank you for your thoughts on the matter. You know I think Tia would be very proud of you also. She is a very independent young lady and that is good, but she also looks up to you and to you for advice and that is also a plus. You are going to be a strong couple together. I hope your contract of engagement says something about that." Cole knew there was no contract but he wanted to introduce the subject and this seemed to be the best way to do it.
Landon smiled as he said, "Sir, when I get back to Hogwarts, I plan on telling Tia how I feel about her and asking her how she feels. Then I plan on asking Tarik and Lance to formally date her. I love her and want to do this right." He stopped as an owl came in through an unseen window. He had seen the owl before deliver messages to his mother. Landon glared at Fixer as he said unsure of Fixer true reason, "Why would Khalid, my mother's lover be sending you an owl? If you are using me to get Tia for those maniacs, I will not! I hate him as much as I do her! Jackson might have his master's mark but I swore to Tia that I would never carry it!"
"Relax Landon," Cole said as he retrieved the message from the owl and sent it on its way. "I was checking on some information for you, and this is my answer." Cole opened up the note and read:
Note:
Took care of Esmeralda, she cannot do anything without the EMC knowing she forged papers and that she is not willing to be let known. Sent message to Council and told them to back off, which they will do, because they know I have information I can release. Enclosed is the true paperwork showing Antonio as the father. Stick with the present plan. Get them married and then you can protect both of them better. I will keep an eye on the witch and let you know if you need to change directions. Thanks for your help in this Fixer. I wish I could come forward and tell the truth of what I do but the Dark Sect would have be taken out. Stay cool and thanks again. Khalid
Cole crumbled the note up and placed it in the blood-locked bottom drawer of his desk. Leaning back in his chair he looked at Landon for several long heart beats. "Landon, who is your father?" He needed to find out who the boy was thinking of as the one he had to answer to.
Landon was still fuming as he said, "I want nothing to do with that maniac. His son Shadow kidnapped Tia and killed people close to her. All with his blessing..." Landon knew that his mother had gotten Khalid to back his brother. Jackson was Khalid's son and Jackson had never let him forget it.
"Jackson told me last year in anger that he will always have more power than me. He is Khalid's son while I am only Anthony Mirabeau's son. Jackson swore that if I kept defying mother, her and Khalid would insure that I never saw Tia or my sister Stella again." Landon said with tears in his eyes. Jackson was going to take everything from him and there was nothing Landon could do be watch.
Cole just sat calmly and waited for the boy to regain control. When he knew he could listen again he started, "You have just as much control as Jackson, Landon, in fact at the moment you have more control. Your father is Khalid and the Owl confirmed the information through blood test that were done without your knowledge. I have also been informed that the union between you and Tia is looked on as favorable as far as Khalid is concerned. I cannot prove it to you now, because I am still collecting information, but Khalid did not have anything to do with what Shadow did. It was done behind his back and not with his blessing. He has agreed to sign whatever papers are drawn up for you and Tia to be contracted and married whenever you wish." Cole waited for the information to sink in and then continued, "I have also discovered that Lance would not be against the union between the two of you if you and Tia formally ask his permission." Cole held up his hand when the boy was about to speak. "I know you have not talked with Tia about this, so," Cole allowed a small smile to cross his face, "I have contacted Tia and she will be here about 11:30 am for lunch. I told her you wanted to talk with her."
Landon was furious as he said, "I want nothing from that man. I will never call him father..." Landon stopped as worry set in. Khalid was backing him right now. He wondered what Khalid would do once he realized that Landon was not going to be bought like his older siblings. Landon said without thinking, "I will not betray Tia. Whatever he wants the answer is no!" He needed to tell Tia of this connection between Fixer and Khalid. Landon was scared because Tia was coming back to the island. He wondered if he outright refused Khalid then what would Fixer do with Tia. Landon thought long and hard about how he was going to protect Tia. He needed to find out what Khalid had planned if Landon refused to play Khalid's game. At the moment Landon had Khalid's backing but if he angered Khalid or Fixer, what would happen
Landon wondered if he had already made the situation worst. He had to get to and protect Tia. He stood as he said, "I need to finish my last two tasks, Sir. May I be excused?"
"No you may not be excused. Sit down," Cole said not leaving any room for disobedience. "I know you are wondering what Khalid wants with this union Landon and you are going to find it hard to believe me when I tell you, it is more keeping Jackson away from Tia than it is giving her to you as your wife. Khalid like, all of us has had to do things were and still are not proud of and someday you will do things you will not be proud of, but you will discover not doing them would be worse for yourself and those you care about." Cole sat forward in his chair, put his elbows on the arms and interlaced his fingers in front of him. "Landon I have never lied to you and I promise I will always try my utmost never to lie to you. The only thing I want is for you and Tia to be together. Your strengths will be joined and grow. Others will not be ever able to pull you apart. I care for Tia, Landon and I only want her happiness, and I can tell you with all the confidence I posses she also wants you with all her heart."
"When she arrives you will talk and make your decision. I will tell you though that your mother has tried three times to get the Egyptian Magical Council to agree to contract Jackson with Tia. Two times have failed miserably, but this last time is showing some promise in her favor. Khalid is blocking what he can. I have no say so even though I do have people who can get me information quickly on what they are deciding, but Landon unless you push this soon, you might not have a chance. I have it in my power at the moment, to get a contract signed between you and Tia and even get you married, but I do not know how long I can hold my fragile channels open. You have to decide soon, Landon, very soon."
Landon shook his head wondering if this was just Khalid's way of getting Landon to owe both men. Antonio had warned him never to owe Khalid any favors because he would insure you always owed.
Landon needed to think and he had no time. Tia would be here soon. His brother must have disappointed Khalid somehow. Landon asked not realizing he had spoken out loud, "Can I really owe Khalid? If I do this and Tia finds out I will lose her. She hates the man. She will never forgive me for allowing myself to owe Khalid. But I love her and if owing Khalid can save her from being forced to marry Jackson..." He knew that he would do whatever it took to save the woman he loved from his mother and brother. Landon head lowered as he said softly, "Even making a deal with the devil Khalid."
He looked at Fixer as he asked, "If I agree then I want to know exactly how deep in Khalid's pocket will this favor he is doing will put me. I want it clear this will be my debt not Tia's! He nor you are ever to collect from Tia. She is never to know and as long as I never have to take the mark, or have me betray her, I will pay it."
Cole slowly nodded his head. He had to convince the young man to believe in him and to believe that Khalid was not going to ask anything of him or Tia. Cole would take any of that on himself. "Landon, I have already taken responsibility for what you are about to do. It is being done as a favor to me and if there is a price to pay, I will pay it. You and Tia need to be together. You need to learn how to combine your strengths. That is all I want." Cole raked his hand through his hair, "I know you don't believe me, at least totally Landon, but it will be all right. You are part of my little group of people now, and I take care of my own." Cole watched to see if he had made any impact at all. Looking at his watch he realized it was almost 11 o'clock and he needed to get Tarik off the island before Tia showed up.
Landon inwardly cringed as he thought, "Well at least it is not Khalid. I will owe Fixer though? It seems he knew that I was like Danny and only wanted to be a part of his group to get Tia away from him. I wonder if he knows that I only want the training to get trusted, enough to get into that file room and prove to Tia that Fixer is exactly what her protectors think. Maybe it can still work and I will still be able to spy for Tia's protectors until they can shut him down?" Landon knew though he talks with some of Fixer's men that nobody ever crossed Fixer.
He looked at Fixer as he said, "I never said I would fully join your men, Fixer. This training is just in case I decide to later after I graduated." Landon knew though that was not what Fixer wanted to hear. He had gotten the message very clear. He was Fixer's now. Landon just was hoping he was wrong cause if he was right, then Landon had a lot of thinking to do.
Cole stood up. The boy would still be trying to find out information but if Cole had it figured right, he would eventually be able to actually take him into the room and show him some of the information he had painstakingly collected over the years. Turning toward the door he said, "I have another appointment to take care of. I will be gone for little over a half an hour. You can wait here for about 20 min then join me outside to welcome Tia. Sit and relax Landon." Cole walked toward the door.
Landon's plan was to get those files and help Tia's protectors with shutting Fixer down another words spy and then betray Fixer by get Arianna and the Aurors access to the island but with him owing Fixer a debt now.... Landon needed time to think and there wasn't any.

FRANK COLE
(OOC: This post is copied from Elsewhere, Tarik's Visit. It is what happens when Cole leaves Landon.)
Cole stretched and looked up at the sky. It was going to be a beautiful day. Last night he had left Tarik in his room fuming and worried about his talk with Landon. Cole had already spent an hour with the boy, who was now sitting in his office waiting for Tia to arrive, which would be in about twenty minutes. He had gotten a message to her, and she had agreed to come, even though the school was technically under lockdown. Cole chuckled when he thought of how they all thought that would keep him from having the children visit. Today the Core would cover for Tia, but there were other ways to make them think the children had not left, some ways he had already used.
Settling in one of the comfortable chairs on the platform, Cole picked up his ice tea glass and took a sip. Tarik had been a real challenge, it had actually been fun sparing with him, but the Medjai need to get back to the school, and with Tia coming Cole did not want Tarik there. The door to the barracks open and Cole smiled.
Tarik had not slept much. He had worried all night about the things that Fixer had implied. He shook his head and just sat there. Fixer was going to learn why Medjai were known for being the hardest to break.
The elf Artkee, had come in during the night and traded places with Tarka, who had worked an extra long shift. Master Tarik was asleep when he entered, but the human was restless and did not stay asleep for long periods of time. Artkee had just sat on his airchair in the corner and watched when the Medjai human was awake. When it became time to have him go out to the yard, where Master Frank would be waiting Artkee jumped down from his air chair and walked over to the human. Bowing slightly he said, "Master Tarik is time to leave. Master Frank has said you should be brought to the platform in the Barrack's yard at this time."
Tarik sat Indian style with his legs crossed on the bed and said, "I think not. I am not leaving without Landon and Lance."
Artkee just shook his head. Master Frank had said to try only one time to get Master Tarik to come outside on his own. If he didn't choose to come that way, Artkee was to bind him and bring him out. Artkee raised his hand and bound Master Tarik's legs in the position he was sitting. Then he released the corners of the blanket he was sitting on and floated the Medjai off the bed sitting on the blanket. Artkee had seen something like this in one of Master Frank's books about ancient Egyptian wizards and thought it was fitting for the Medjai since he was supposed to be special in his homeland.
Slowly he levitated Master Tarik, out the door and down the hall. He got smiles and some chuckles from some of the other human's as they passed. A few even waved and bowed. Artkee smiled because apparently he was not doing anything wrong.
Tarik smiled as the elf remind him of Darik. Elves were stubborn and he often wondered if he had also picked up his stubbornness from Darik. He looked at the elf as he said, "I am not a Jinn. I am a Magi. You can tell Frank Cole that I am not leaving without Landon and Lance. Now please take me back to the room."He was not going to tell the little elf that he was afraid of flying. Tarik believed if the gods wanted him to fly then he would have been born with wings.
Artkee just shook his head no and continued with Master Tarik's travels. He felt a little sorry for the human, because he actually looked scared; at least his eyes were showing that emotion. When they reached the front door, he opened it and continued to float Master Tarik toward where Master Frank was sitting on the platform. It did not take long to get to the platform and Artkee was very careful to set Master Tarik down gently. He looked at Master Frank who was laughing and when he received the signal, he released Master Tarik's bonds, bowed slightly and walked over to stand at the edge of the platform.
Tarik waited until he was released by the elf. Then without saying a word, the Medjai got up and headed back towards the barracks. He did not see Lance or Landon and Tarik was not leaving the island without them.
Cole raised his hand and signaled Artkee to bring the Medjai, back to the platform, sit him in the chair and bind his legs. Artkee promptly stepped onto the wooden platform raised his hand and pulled Master Tarik back to sit where Master Frank wanted him to. He was a little worried because the human was fighting so strongly, but he knew he would not be able to break out of his magical grip. When Master Tarik was in the chair, Artkee bound his legs, bowed and stepped off the platform.
Cole chuckled and said, "I really must insist you join me on this beautiful day Tarik. Don't you think it is marvelous out here." Cole motioned for tea and a plate with a few finger sandwiches to be brought to the small side table between him and Tarik. "We will have some lunch and decide what is to be done next. Cole picked up one of the sandwiches and took a bite, washing it down with the ice tea he had in his glass. It was Tarik's move.
Tarik smiled as he said, "As long as you understand that I am not leaving without Landon and Lance, Mr. Cole. I can agree to lunch outside."
Cole smiled and said, "I completely understand your concerns about leaving the two gentlemen here Amir. We may be able to come to an understanding. For now, though I have had the chef prepare what he insists is a very rare Egyptian tea and would be interested in your thoughts about it. I promise on my word of honor, which I have never broken, that it is not poisoned or drugs have not been added. The sandwiches are mostly spiced chick filled Egyptian Pita bread, but if you would like a different kind let me know." Cole looked toward the barracks where some of the soldiers were forming up for a drill. "It seems we are in time to watch a formation drill. I think you will like what you see." Cole picked up another sandwich and held up his glass to be refilled by the soldier standing by behind him.
Tarik smiled as he said, "We shall see, Mr. Cole." This new side of Frank Cole had Tarik once again curious about the man. Tarik reached over to the plate and picked up one of the sandwiches. After taking a couple of bites he reached for his cup, wondering if the connections Fixer had would bring him teas from Arianna's collection. His sister was one of the top sellers of specialized Egyptian teas, in her spare time.
Tarik felt dizzy. He remembered seeing Cole watch him as the man faded from his view. When he opened his eyes he was sitting on the sidewalk in front of Charitee's Cafe
in Diagon Alley. He had been tricked. The Tea cup must have been a Port key.
It had taken all of Cole's will power to keep from laughing out load and giving away that the teacup was actually a Portkey back to Diagon Alley. It would take Tarik a while to get back to Hogwarts. By that time Tia would be on the island, so he could finish his talk with Landon and her. Cole smiled and sat back in his seat, stretching his legs out in front of him. Tarik had promised to answer five of Cole's questions, at the moment he had no idea what those questions were. He had also said he wasn't coming back to the island. Cole chuckled because the Madjai had also said he was not leaving without Lance and Landon, so that was a mute point. There was still about 15 minutes before Tia would arrive. It was turning out to be an excellent day.

TIA ANDREAS
Tia had informed the older Cole members where she was going. Hogwarts was on lock down, but Cole had sent her an Owl telling her Landon needed to talk with her. She had made it plain to the Core that they were to use as many smoke and mirror techniques as they could if someone was looking for her. It was lunch time so she knew she had at least a couple of hours, where her friends and team could keep people thinking she was at the school. If Sasha and Tarik ever found out, they would all probably be put under lock, key and elf watch, but Landon needed her so she would go.
She had made her way to the basement room where the cabinet used as a Portkey was kept in a very dark corner. Stepping into the cabinet, she found herself instantly on the familiar platform on Mr. Cole's Island. They had all visited here many times, because the man had agreed to help train them in areas, the adults at Hogwarts thought they were not old enough for, so they came here. Looking around she found Fixer sitting relaxed in a nearby chair and Brennan standing just behind her. Turning to Brennan first she said," Brennan, how? What are you doing here?"
Brennan smiled as he said, "Never mind, just get behind me Now Tia!" As he pulled her behind him with one hand, his other hand went for his globe in his pocket. Brennan's hand activated the homing beacon. He pulled his hand out and let his wand drop into his hand as he said seeing Landon, "Landon. You need to get over here. Air and the others are coming!" His plan had worked and now all he had to do was keep the children safe until Air arrived.
Cole had not even needed to move. When he looked off to the side he had been signaled the Portkey at the school had been closed down. Punta aimed for Brennan's wand and it was soon in Cole's hand. He wouldn't have to worry about the globe because its beacon would have been blocked as soon as Brennan's presence registered in the security system. Four men had joined them on the platform. Two took Brennan to his knees, one was standing next to Landon with his hand on the boy's arm in a firm grip, the last one had pulled Tia off to the side and back closer to Cole. Cole slowly stood up and walked over to where Brennan was being held on his knees. "Welcome back Bren. So nice of you to come and visit and join our little party." Looking at the other men he said, "Take them all to my office. Brennan on the wall facing out. Tia and Landon in the chairs in front of my desk, and someone get Lance and bring him to the office also."
Bren smiled as he said, "We are shutting you down Fixer! Leave Tia and Landon out of this..."
Tia tried to pull away from the man that grabbed her. She said angry, "You said Landon wanted to talk to me, Fixer! Leave Brennan alone, he is only doing what any Head of Hogwarts Security would do. We are in Lock Down at the school, I broke that..." She was scared for Bren and angry with Fixer for lying to her.
Cole walked behind the group as they were led to his office. "Tia don't struggle. Landon does want to talk with you. Don't you Landon? Brennan should not have come, but since he is here he can help with a little matter I have with Lance. Now stop struggleing and let's get to my office. Cole watched as Tia and Landon's eyes met and the boy silently asked her to be quiet, with his eyes. It did not take them long to get to his office and get everyone situated.
Cole took his place behind his desk and for several moments just looked around the office. Brennan was backed up against the wall spread eagled on the wall in shackles. Tia and Landon had pulled the chairs they were occupying in front of his desk closer together and were holding hands, silently talking to each other with their eyes. After a moment there was a knock at the door and Lance was led in by Mecum, "Ah there you are Doctor, come join our little party." Mecum had retrieved one of the chairs from the dinette set and placed it next to Tia's chair.
Lance walked in and stopped short just inside the door. He had expected to see Tia and Landon, but when his eyes met Brennan's on the wall he became almost uncontrollably angry. Turning to Cole he said, "What is Brennan doing here? This was supposed to be just between Tia and Landon and not any kind of force involved."
"Sit down Doc, and you will get all the explanations you need." Cole watched a very angry Lance stiffly sit down in the chair Mecum had retrieved. Lance had reached out and gave Tia a tender pat on the arm. Cole knew this was more checking on her, then a comforting move. Cole again looked around the room before continuing, "First, I want to tell everyone this little get together has grown larger than I had expected." Turning to Landon he said, "Landon I in all honesty did not expect Brennan to show up. This was just supposed to be between you and Tia. That being said, I will give you two a little privacy." Cole motioned to Punta and said, "Take them to one of the regular guest rooms. Make sure they have everything they need, and wait there with them."
Punta had walked over and stood between the two young humans. "Master Landon and Mistress Tia, you will please follow me."
Landon stood automatically but Tia was still furious as she said unable to control her rage, " I won't go anywhere until you release Bren! He is Core and I won't have him treated this way! How dare you use me to capture him!" Tia stopped as she remembered something Bren had said to Landon. She got a sly look as she continued, "Just wait until my protectors get here, You will Rule the day you crossed Arianna and Tarik! Now release Brennan or Suffer not only their wrath but the Core's as well! Bren is Core and Nobody threatens or attacks my friends without serious Payback!"
Tia was too furious to notice that Landon was trying to get her out of the room as things had started to fly. Landon looked at Lance praying he could help calm her cause her Blood Magic was once again out of control and its target was the one man that Landon did not want to anger. Fixer held their fate in his hands. Landon just hoped Bren had not angered him too badly already. Landon just prayed that he still had a chance to fixe things because if not then he could lose Tia forever.
Lance stepped in front of Tia and said as he ducked a book headed for Cole. He didn't even turn to look to see where the book landed. "Tia, stop right now. Get yourself under control and be the Princess you are trying to be." When Tia had settled a bit and nothing was flying around anymore, Lance turned to Cole and silently asked for his help.
Cole nodded and signaled for Brennan to be taken down from the wall. "Brennan you will be taken to your usual room. Depending on how things go here, some of us," Cole gave Tia a knowing glance, "will be joining you there shortly.
As Brennan was being led away by two of the guards Cole added, "Strip him and give him something else to wear. He can remain loose as long as he is good." Chuckling he turned back to see Tia. Lance had steeped off to the side. "Tia I did not capture Brennan, he came here of his own free will. Your protectors will not be following. Although Tarik should have made his way back to the school by now, the globe Brennan tried to hide the activation of, is still putting out a signal, but that signal was blocked as soon as he materialized on the island. All Portkeys to the school have been deactivated and destroyed. Now go with Landon and take some time to be with each other. I need to talk with Lance for a moment then I will join you. I think you will like what Landon has to say to you." Adding a smile Cole said, "Now go Princess, I promise everything is going to work out fine, and I have never broken a promise to you, have I?"
Brennan watched as Tia's Blood Magic showed Fixer just how angry the princess was. He looked at Landon and realized that he was upset but not at Fixer. Landon was worried Bren had angered Fixer. Bren knew that he needed to allow Landon to get his feelings out. He smiled and said, "There is one way to handle Tia's question. Landon, did you have something to discuss with Tia? Or did Fixer lie to her to get her here?"
Landon said without thinking, "Lance knows why I wanted to talk to her. Now you have ruined it and I might lose Tia forever! I Love her Bren and I want to..."
After Tia calm down she stopped Landon by putting her finger to his lips as she said, "Shh, I can explain Brennan's actions. Come on, I think what you want to tell me is just what I been waiting to hear. We will talk privately as I have things to tell you to, my love." She turned as she was leaving and said, "You better not lay a finger on either Bren or Lance, Fixer...." She was lead away by Landon with her head on his shoulder. Tia was hoping that Landon was finally going to ask her to marry him.

LANCE KILDARE
When the room had been cleared and it was only Cole and Lance, Cole walked around his desk and sat in one of the regular chairs. He motioned for Lance to sit in the other. "Seems we have some extra guest. When Landon and Tia have had a chance to talk, and come to the conclusion I know they both want, then all you will have to do is sign the papers and we can have a celebration. Brennan can now be your witness to the grand event." Cole sat back in the chair. Putting his elbows on the arms he steepled his fingers in front of his face and watched Lance over the tips. Brennan had just become insurance that Lance would sign the papers on the island.
Lance shook his head as he said, "I told you I will not sign that paper here. Fixer, she is not ready yet for a Blood Union. You saw what she did, though I have to admit her aim is getting better." Lance had to admit that she had also that she loved Landon when she had called him "my love". Lance looked at Fixer and then at the door. He knew Fixer enough to know Bren was going to be here for at least a couple of days. He inwardly cringed as he asked, "I know you Fixer, your words about Bren changing clothes and what you said to him..." He stopped praying he was wrong. Taking a deep breath, he continued, "so what happens if..." He could not bring himself to ask what his mind was screaming, "What happens now that I have refused? Tia is not ready for a blood bonding ceremony with Landon. She can't control her own Blood Magic, let alone what she would gain through mixing her blood with Landon's." Lance loved his cousin and wanted her happy though.
Cole intertwined his fingers over his chest and stretched his feet out in front of him, crossing his legs at the ankles. He let a few seconds pass before he answered the doctor. Chuckling he said, "her aim is getting better. That book missed my head by bare inches. You are wrong though about Tia not being ready for the Blood Union. When they are finally joined through the ceremony, both her and Landon will gain the control of the other and the combined union will allow Tia's magic to stabilize. I have five elves on this island all of who are Tocoferty in their various clans. They are all well aware of what is about to happen and they have each been working on their own abilities to help the young couple. They will not be left alone to flounder, Lance. Esmeralda, Landon's mother and as dark a witch as they come, has been gaining ground by the hour with the Egyptian Magical Council to get Jackson contracted to Tia. This has to be done now, this afternoon or none of us will have a choice. You know they can and will take Landon out of the picture if they get a chance. I cannot and I will not allow that to happen.'
Sitting up straighter and uncrossing his legs Cole said, "You will sign the papers like you promised Lance and you will sign them here. Brennan will not be let go until they are wed and I can guarantee he is not going to be comfortable during his stay here. I know you understand what I am saying. This is not a promise Doctor it is a threat, pure and simple. Now…" Cole stood up and turned toward the door. "I need to talk with Tia and Landon. I will allow you to enter into our talk, as soon as they are ready to formally ask for your blessing. Do not disappoint me, Doctor." Cole started toward the door.
Lance cringed as he said, "You are having Bren's clothes changed, which means either way... Bren is here for at the very least two days. Fixer, Tarik is worried about that prophecy for a reason. By signing that paper with her Blood Magic still out of control..." Lance was worried if by marrying them too soon. He put words to his fears, "Fixer, I am just worried if we are just playing into The Dark One's hands? I just need to be sure that this is not what has Tarik so worried. Prove to me that this union will help them rather than do whatever Tarik is so worried about, and I will comply with their wishes. However, Fixer if we do this then she cannot leave until her Blood Magic is handled. Cause if she loses control..." Lance shook as he realized that once it was out that Tia and Landon were married, there would be people that would stop at nothing to destroy them.
Cole turned "Lance have you ever read what was in Tia's diary? I know you and/or Tarik have copies. If both of them agree whole heartedly with this union then it will be a good thing. If they are forced against their wills then one of them will die and the other will turn dark because of it. I know they want to be together. I am not forcing them to unite just pushing for a little earlier than the rest of you. They will ground each other. Tia will be spending the night but I will have her back in Hogwarts before breakfast. Let me have a talk with them and get their agreement then we will see if you can test Tia and find out the reaction. Would that help?" cole knew he had enough help on the island, along with his own Blood/Elfin Magic, to control anything Tia could throw at them. He was curious himself how Landon would react. It was time for him to find out how to really help her.
Lance nodded but said nothing more. He could test them but only after the union and by then it would be too late.

FRANK COLE
Cole made his way the short distance down the hall to the comfortable guest room he had Punta put the children in. Looking at his watch he realized he had only given the young ones about forty-five minutes to talk, and he knew Punta had lunch ordered and served. It was going to have to be enough time for now. Cole still had Brennan to talk with and then had to convince Lance to sign the papers. The timing was going to be close.
Cole knocked on the door, something he rarely did, but in this case it was called for, and entered.
Tia and Landon were still kissing when they heard the knock. Landon was a gentleman, that pleased Tia as he gentle pulled away. "He's right", Tia thought, "We will have all of eternity for us to show our love." She needed to talk with Tarik and Lance quickly.
Landon said with more force than normal, "Enter and it had better be important..."
Cole smiled as he entered the room. The two were still in each other's arms. When he looked at the table he noticed the light lunch had barely been touched. "I hope I have given you both time to talk," he said as he looked back and forth between the two young ones. As he walked to the chair near the small two seater-couch he said, "Come sit down and we will talk together." When they were seated, Cole leaned back in his chair and watched Landon and Tia for a moment. They had never let go of each other's hands. They still held on as they sat on the couch. "Landon, have you had a chance to explain to Tia what is happening?"
Landon glared at Fixer but Tia smiled as she said, "Yes, Landon and I are fully up to date. We are going to talk with both my cousin Lance and Tarik. As I told Landon, we will do this right or not at all. I will not disgrace my family or allow him to disgrace his. Fixer, Esmeralda is just going to have to understand, I do not love or even like Jackson. My heart has always belonged to Landon. Now that I know he feels the same, well it is time to have the talk with Tarik, Lance and I guess Khalid. He better not bring Shadow though."
Landon looked at Fixer. He prayed that the man understood that Tia and he had agreed to do this right. Landon smiled as he remembered that Tia had agreed if it was done correctly, she would indeed marry him. He loved her and so he backed her decision fully.
Cole nodded. "Princess, I am happy the two of you have finally come to the only conclusion there was. We need to cover a couple of points though. As I have seen you and the rest of the Core grow in strength and confidence, it has not been difficult to see the relationship between you and Landon blossom also. I have wanted to reward you, Landon and the Core for their hard work, so I started looking into what it would take to get you and Landon together. As my research progressed, I found more and more evidence that Esmeralda, Landon's mother, has been pushing, pushing hard to get you connected with Jackson, since she knows she would have great difficulty controlling Landon." Cole shot Landon a smile and a wink. "She had partitioned the Egyptian Magical Council three times to get you contracted to her oldest son. The first two times were shot down, because she did not have enough backing on the council to even get the idea brought up at a meeting. The third try, was brought up at the last meeting of the council and tabled until the next, which is about five days away. It has taken me this long to be able to set things up so the two of you would be able to stop her plans."
Cole paused for a moment and then continued, "I have been able through negotiations to get Khalid to agree to sign for Landon, which under Egyptian Magical Law he has the right to do. He will only sign for Landon though, and Esmeralda is also trying to get that blocked. It would not be an easy thing to accomplish, but her people are feeding fear into the council that he will have too much say so over you through Landon." Cole held up his hand when Landon was about to say something. "I know Landon that you would fight it, but if it meant protecting Tia, consider what you would be willing to do which would not be in both your interest." When he saw the boy had realized what he was saying he went on. "She has been able to get some very powerful members of the council on her side and frankly the next vote worries me."
Tia was furious. She stood up and said showing just what she thought of their interference, "I will never marry Jackson!" With that she headed for the door as she said, "That council don't have any say in my life yet! My father saw to that as did Tarik's father. Only Tarik and Lance have say. They have both agreed that only I should decide my fate. I choose Landon so that council will just have to honor my choice." Tia knew that only Tarik and Lance could veto her decision. That was the main reason she wanted to do this right.
Landon looked at Cole. Receiving a nod, he slowly stood up and walked over to Tia and took her in his arms and just hugged her. Finally, he stepped back a little and said, "We will fight the council together, Tia. You need to come back and listen to what Mr. Cole has to say, please." Slowly he was able to led her back to the couch and have her sit down. She was on edge and the look she was giving Fixer, was not filled with love. Landon held her hand and turned his own eyes to the man who literally held their future in his.
Tia said once she was sat back down, "We need to talk to Lance and Tarik, Landon." She knew that they would know how to stop this outrage.
Cole leaned forward and rested his elbows on his knees, interlacing his fingers in front of him. "Since Khalid is signing for Landon, Tia you will need only one signature for you. Lance is already here on the island and he has said he will sign as soon as the two of you formally ask for the union. I was able to find out the correct wording in the contract which would need to be signed, and it is already signed by Khalid. Lance will have a chance to read it of course, for your protection, and then when he signs it you two can be married." Now for the clincher, "I have also been able to obtain the documentation from a contact on the Egyptian Magical Council to be able to officially perform the marriage and the Blood bonding ceremony." Cole sat back and waited to see what the news would bring from the two young people in front of him.
They were excited but Tia was concerned. She voiced her fears, "If he is wrong Landon, we need to talk with Lance. He would know if..." She was afraid that they would miss something like a rule or a procedure. Tia trusted her Cousin Lance's council as much as she did Landon, Tarik or Brennan's.
Landon nodded as he said, "Okay my love, we will talk with Lance and see if anything was missed. I don't want any loop holes that my mother can use." He understood her reasoning.
Cole smiled and sat up straighter. "Good." Getting up he said, "You too wait here. I will talk with Lance and let him read the contract. Then I will have the two of you brought into the room and you can formally ask for his permission to be joined. If you have any other questions after that then you will be allowed to ask." Cole started toward the door but stopped and turned, saying, "I really do want you two to be happy. When all of this is done, I will still be there to help with any problems which may arise, this I give my word of honor on. It is not going to be an easy road, but if you hang onto each other and your friends you will make it through." Looking at Tia he said, "You are going to make a fantastic ruler, Princess."
Then Cole left the room headed to where Brennan was being held. On the way he stopped one of his men and told them to bring Lance from his office to Brennan's room.

LANCE KILDARE
Cole had made his way to the room in short order and turned on the small video screen outside the door. Brennan was still loose, which meant there had not been a reason for him to be restrained. He was pacing back and forth between the door and the far wall which held a small window, deceivingly unblocked. Even though Brennan momentarily stopped at the window several times during his walk, for several seconds, he was smart enough, owning to past experience to know it was not an escape route.
When Cole saw he was at the window, he opened the door and entered. Making his way over to the small metal table, surrounded by four chairs, he turned one of the chairs around and straddled it. Then he folded his arms on the table and waited to see what Brennan's first reaction was going to be.
Bren glared at Fixer but only asked, "What are you up to Fixer? Why bring Tia here? Sasha is not going to be happy that you had Tia break the lock down on the school. And no I am not telling you why the school is in Lock Down! Now release me and tell me where Tia and Landon are!" He was furious but more at himself for getting caught.
Cole just watched Brennan for another couple of heart beats before he said, "Sit down Brennan. First you don't have to tell me why the school is on lock down, I already know. Second you are not getting released anytime soon as you are smart enough to already have figured out. Tia and Landon are safe just down the hall in one of the regular guest rooms. Third, Lance will be joining us soon. I need Lance to do something for me and although he has agreed to do it, under circumstances, which I have mostly agreed to, he has not agreed to help while on the island. I need it done while he is here. Now sit down, or I will have Punta help you sit down."
Bren inwardly cringed as he said, "I am not helping you Fixer, especially with anything concerning Lance or the Core. Leave them be!"
Cole just shook his head and signaled Punta to assist Brennan to sit in one of the chairs. Then on second thought he pointed to the wall behind him where the shackles were. Within moment Brennan was spread eagle on the wall facing out. Cole turned his chair so he would be able to see him clearly. "Stop struggling Brennan. You are not going to have to do anything. In fact I will say the less you do the better it is going to be for all concerned. Just you being here is going to assist me in what I need."
The soldier had walked into the office and just said that Lance was needed down the hall by the Captain, who was Fixer. Apparently, Tia and Landon had been able to come to a quick realization that they wanted to be together, which did not surprise him. He knew Landon was trying to wait until the time was right. He was young and did not realize yet the time was never right on it's own, you had to make it right . It did not take him long, as he was being led down the hall to realize they were headed for the interrogation rooms not the guest rooms. His temper started to mount at the thought Fixer had put the two children in one of those stark rooms.
When they stopped outside one of the door, the soldier knocked and when the door opened, motioned for Lance to enter the room.
Bren was still fighting his bonds when the door opened. Standing there was Lance but he did not enter. Instead he said from the door way, "How dare you put Tia and Landon in a place like this, Fixer! Release them Now!" The guard behind him pushed and then closed the door. As Lance was regaining his balance, he saw Brennan chained to the wall. His anger mounted, as he demanded, "Where are Tia and Landon? Why am I here? Release Brennan!"
Cole looked up at Brennan and smiled and then at Lance. "Welcome Lance. Won't you have a seat and join us. Brennan preferred to stand, so I gave him somewhere he didn't have to worry about falling down. Tia and Landon are in one of the very comfortable guest suites, waiting for you to come, but I thought we should talk a bit first. Brennan is here to help persuade you to see things my way." Cole tuned to Brennan and asked, "Aren't you Brennan?" Cole leaned back in his chair and extended his feet in front of him. Laying his right arm on the table he laid his other arm across his chest. He wondered if Lance was going to take the hint he needed to sit, or was going to try something else.
Lance went over to Bren as the youngest Caretaker shook his head and said, "I came here to stop you Fixer, not help you!" The Caretaker known as Doc grinned. Brennan might like him be a graduate of Hufflepuff, but they were also part of the group known as the Caretakers. Lance said as stood in front of Brennan, "Release Bren, Fixer cause you are not getting anything from either of us. Once Tia, Bren and Landon are safely back in Hogwarts then me and Tarik will talk with Tia and Landon. I told you, we won't allow that contract to be used as a hold over them." He was not going to allow the children especially Landon to even think they owe Khalid or Fixer. Lance was proud of the young man who because of his love had been able to stand up for what he believed in. Landon had taken a stand against his own family and Lance was not going to allow Fixer or Khalid to use that same love bond to bind his cousin and Landon to Khalid's way of life.
"Sit down Lance," Cole said as he motioned Punta to take Brennan down off the wall and place him in one of the other chairs, with his legs bound. "I have some information for you which might change your mind."
Lance shook his head as he stayed near Bren.
Cole sat up straighter in his chair and grabbed the back of it. He watched as Punta tried to do what he had signaled him to do. It looked like Lance was willing to fight. Cole motioned Punta to hold just as the elf was about to release Brennan's first leg. "Either sit down Lance and have Brennan off the wall, or stand there and Brennan will stay on the wall until you comply. I have left the children waiting to talk with you and they can also continue to wait." Cole folded his arms on the back of the straight-back chair he was straddling. "I can wait, Doctor can you?"
Lance inwardly cringed as he headed for the table. As he sat down Doc said, "I won't have everything Landon has done so far to be for nothing. He stood against his mother. I will not have you use this to get him back in that kind of life. He and Tia will not be forced or conned into thinking that they owe any allegiance because of this. I will sign nothing on this island!"
Cole signaled Punta to continue to get Brennan down from the wall. As Punta sat Brennan at the table between Cole and Lance, Cole turned his chair back to the table. Still straddling it he said, "I have told the young ones, that you will be allowed to read the contract before they sign it and you sign it. It has been legally prepared using every law and regulation which exists in the Egyptian Magical World. It has been checked by a council member. When you read it if there is anything you would like change, we will discuss it." Punta laid a small stack of papers down on the table and Cole folded his arms on the top of the table in front of him. "I have learned that in five days the Egyptian Magical Council will again bring up the subject of Tia and Jackson being joined. I have also learned that this result is now in favor with the council. Tia is a Princess and although Tarik, likes to believe she has a choice, there really is not one. She will be the next ruler when she becomes of age in two years. If they say Jackson is to be her Consort, he will be. Plans are already in the works to take Landon and Tarik out of the picture unless they agree with what ever decision the EMC comes up with, and we all know they will not agree. So they will probably be dead or in prison on some trumpeted up charge. Tia will be forced into doing what they say to save them."
Cole stopped and raked both his hands through his hair. "I am trying to block the ability of them to do any of this. The children really love each other, and we each know they are destined to be together. They are old enough to decide. In the contract you will see I have no legal hold over them and I will not use what I am doing to have a hold on them. I will take full responsibility to make sure no one else has a hold unless they ask for it also." Cole did not know how else to explain what was happening. They were on a time limit. Slowly he pushed the contract over to Lance. Then he signaled Punta to bring a round of drinks.
Lance was shocked that the EMC thought they had say in his cousin's life. Showing his anger he said, "How dare they who are not even Magi think they can run her life! William was afraid they would try to make her adviser Khalid. Well they are in for a shock come Friday as William gave me a letter saying the only other he would allow should Tarik be removed as Adviser. Frank, does Tarik know about these papers? I will not have him believing I do not trust him. They and the MoM did that to him concerning Daniel. Fixer, it hurt him to think me and Richard no longer trusted his judgment. I will not put him through that again."
Cole turned and looked out the window. The only way to handle this was to bring Tarik back to the island. He had not planned on bringing the man back so soon, but it might help on several venues. One, he would prove to Tarik he could get him back to the island when he wanted him there and two Lance would understand he called the shots in this situation. Cole motioned Punta over to him, closed his eyes for a moment and told the elf silently to get a message to Tarik that Tia was on the island, and he was needed. Opening his eyes, Cole smiled. Punta nodded and closed his own eyes for a moment. If Cole had it figured right Tarik would be there in about ten minutes. "I have sent for Tarik. Please take the time Lance to look over the contract. Tarik should be here in about ten minutes." Cole turned to the elf and said, "Contact Tarka and tell him to make sure the children are comfortable and have everything they need." Looking back at Lance and Brennan he added, "It seems the adults want to delay the inevitable and keep them apart." Cole snickered and just watched, the two men sitting at the table.
Bren said out of anger, "That is not what Lance is saying at all and you know it Fixer. Lance is just worried that Tarik will misunderstand Lance's reasons. Lance also wants to insure that Khalid can't use this contract to control Landon and through him Tia. Tarik is acting head of the Magi and as such should also be made aware of what the EMC whoever they are, what they are trying to do."
Lance's head dropped, as he had never intended for Fixer to use this contract signing to bring Tarik to the island. He had only wanted Tarik to be made aware of the problem and get his advice on how best to deal with the EMC.

TARIK SADAKI
One minute Tarik had been sitting having Lunch with his wife Sasha, Headmistress of Hogwarts and the next he was standing on the platform outside the barracks of Cole's island. He had just gotten to the point in his talk with Sasha where he was trying to tell her she needed to start talking to Tia more because…. their conversation had been interrupted before he could finish. An elf had walked up, bowed slightly and handed him a note. As soon as his hand had hit the parchment, he had been transported to the island. Now he stood there in his older robes, the others had been returned after his last visit, but security had not finished going through them. One of the guards had stepped up to him, saluted and motioned toward the barracks. With the others also there, Tarik realized he had no choice at the time but to follow. His mind was traveling in several directions at once.
He had not been able to read the note, which was still in the hand of the elf, he had not recognized, standing off to the side. He had no idea why he had been brought back here, but was worried it was not going to be painless. Cole had been told he would never return, and here he was in less than four hours after he had been tricked on leaving that morning.
When Tarik's thoughts came back to the present, he was standing outside one of the doors in the long hallway of the barracks. By the look of the door he realized it was an interrogation. One of the men stepped up and started to remove his robes. When Tarik started to fight the elf stepped up in front of him and just stared. Tarik stared back but received the unspoken message of being forced if he did not stop fighting. He lowered his arms and allowed his robes to be removed. The other man then knocked on the door, which swung open. Tarik was pushed into the room and the door closed behind him.
Tarik said with all the emotion he was feeling, "What is the idea Fixer? I was having lunch with my wife. Sasha is going to have a field day about this you know..." He saw Brennan and exploded, "Fixer, you had better start explaining why Brennan is here instead of talking with Will Rikard!"
"Please join us," Cole said motioning to the one empty chair at the table. With a light chuckle he added, "I am so glad you have decided to return Amir." He purposely did not answer any of the Amir's questions, but again motioned toward the chair, catching Punta's eyes to let him know to be ready to assist the Amir to be seated if necessary.
Lance said, "Sorry Tarik, I will explain to Aunt Sasha."
Tarik nodded to Lance and just said, "I was discussing what you and me talked about concerning Tia, Lance. In the middle of it this unknown elf walks in. I barely touch the note and next thing I know I am here." He turns to Fixer and says, "By the way thanks to you security is giving me the third degree. You can see how please I am about that..."
Bren finally spoke, "Sorry Tarik, I will deal with them as soon as I return. Tarik, Cole did not send for me. I have just insured the Core will not be coming here by way of any Portkey at Hogwarts. I followed Tia."
Cole folded his arms on the table and relaxed listening to the exchange between the three men. When it sounded like they had made all their greetings, and Tarik had taken a seat, he said, "I know these gentlemen will be glad and so will Landon and Tia." Cole noticed with satisfaction the shudder which traveled through Tarik, before the man got himself under control."Landon and Tia wished to be contracted and joined. We are working on the negotiations at the moment." Cole pushed the contract to in front of Tarik. "After you and Lance have read this contract then we will go to the guest room where the two young people are waiting to formally request that you allow them to be wed. I have explained to Lance and Brennan that Esmeralda is within hours of getting the EMC to agree to a contract between Tia and Jackson and she has enough backing at the moment to have you and Landon legally taken out of the picture. If you don't mind please read the contract and we will go and make the young one's very happy."
Tarik was furious that the EMC would interfere in matters that only had to do with Magi and not all the Medjai. He asked the elf mentally, "Is what Frank Cole says true? Please take copies of these papers to Darik."
Punta gently shook his head no and silently sent back, "Master Frank has already received the signatures needed for Master Landon. Master Khalid signed them yesterday, as he is the Official head of the family and has been tested and found to be Master Landon's blood father. Tocoferty Darik will receive a copy of the papers after they are signed, Amir. This has already been told to me by Master Frank."
Tarik shook his head saying, "Then Fixer you better find out why I received a letter from the EMC saying Khalid was supporting Jackson. I have Antonio's signature for Landon. Khalid is not going to use either boy to control Tia."
"Amir you are not listening. Khalid did not send you that note and whoever did, is probably on Esmeralda's pay list. Read the contract. Your will find everything about it legal and binding. You will also discover certain clauses, which will make it impossible for me to control either Tia or Landon once they are joined." Cole sat a little forward to emphasize his next words, "I do not want to control Tia and Landon. I also do not want Jackson to be contracted to Tia. I think you know why that would be disastrous. Read the contract Tarik."
Tarik shook his head as he said even surprising himself, "I am not worried about you Frank Cole, I am worried about Khalid. Landon does not need to end up owing that brother of mine or worse becoming like Shadow or Jackson. Can you honestly say that Khalid has no intention of using this to bind Landon to him?"
"I have made myself surety for Landon. Any reprisals and I mean any concerning him and his union with Tia will be my responsibility to take the heat for. I have given Khalid my Blood oath on this and he has accepted." Cole knew that what he had done would depend on whether the elves could keep Khalid from slipping back into the madness from grief he had been holding so close to himself before. He had confidence in the elves and knew the true Khalid, which was masked so the Dark Sect would not realize he was actually fighting against them, while appearing to support them. Cole looked hard into Tarik's eyes to try and show him the truth of his words.
Tarik said as the anger he felt slipped away, "I don't want his clutches in you either Frank." He turned to Lance as he said, "Well Lance? I gather it was your stubbornness that got me called for. I understand and am glad you still seek mine and your grandmother's wisdom. Have you talked with either Tia or Landon?"
Lance nodded and looked down at the table. "As far as I am concerned Uncle, you are head of this family. I would not agree to anything until you were allowed to give your consideration. I know Tia and Landon are in love, but they are still very young. They will need a lot of guidance. I have read the contract and can find nothing wrong with it, but I am not up to date on the laws of the Egyptian Magical World." Lance looked up and smiled. "The children have not been aloud to ask me formally for my blessing unitl the contract was checked. They are waiting," Lance chuckled, "I am sure not too patiently for my arrival, so they can make the request. Since they are to be joined immediately after signing the contract and then a Blood ceremony must be performed to allow them to help each other with their magic, I had to wait for someone who knew what was about to happen and understood the full implications of it."
Tarik listened and then quickly read the contract. He turned to Fixer and said, "Show us the film of their talk. I hope Khalid knows that those two will need monitoring until Tia has graduated? Also I want Khalid to have no say in what Landon chooses as a career. Khalid is unbalanced and still suspected of being a part of the Dark Sect. Landon is getting away from that and I am pleased with how far he has come. I will not have my brother ruining that. Send a copy of the unsigned contract to my sister as I have been away from Egypt. She will know if we missed anything. To be on the safe side get a copy of the one with Antonio's agreement and that way both are signed. Then we will see if the EMC dare to challenge the Magi council in matters that don't concern them!"
Cole nodded and signaled Punta to release Brennan from having his legs bonded. "I agree with all of your points, Amir. I have personally obtained the legal right to marry them and since I also have elfin blood I also have obtained the legal right to officiate at their Blood-bonding ceremony, which I am hoping you will agree to perform the actual ceremony. " Cole nodded to Punta and sent him a mental message to do as Tarik had requested. When he received a nod back he said, "Can we now go and talk with the young ones? I assure you they are ready and willing."
Tarik said, "I gather you also understand that once this takes place Tia will need to get her special skills under control quickly or they will need to be blocked until she can do so? It was the main reason I was waiting as we have learned from experience just with Blood Magic. Think Frank, if Shadow or Jackson unleashes it once her and Landon are joined? I will not have her like me and especially not like Khalid. I can now reveal at least some of the prophecy as it is in direct view of this moment." Tarik took a deep breath and added, "The translation said that if the ruler of the Egyptian Magical World did not marry as their heart showed them and were forced then chaos would exist. This is one of the reasons I am agreeing to this, because I know the two have aligned their hearts."
Cole again nodded. "I have an elf in mind who can be her sort-of house elf. You and Darik will have final say-so on her placement after you have met her. She is sweet and a princess in her own right. She is also smart and well trained in the ways of the human world. She is not a servant but will be a guard and a companion. Her name is Moon. She has the ability to block Blood and elfin magic if need be." Cole paused to get his thoughts in order. "I will let Khalid know of your conditions and will take any of his wrath on myself. To tell you the truth though Amir, your brother only wants Jackson and Esmeralda out of Tia's life. He realizes as well as we all do that this will not stop her totally, but it will end her ability to do anything through the EMC." Cole stood up and said, "Gentlemen if you will follow me, we will see what the young one's have come up with as an argument, which they will consider they need, to formally ask to be contracted and joined."
Bren was surprised as he had heard of an elf that was Darik's relation a cousin if he remembered right or an aunt. He could hold his tongue no longer, "Does Air know you have Moon? She is Darik's cousin or aunt if I remember right. Mom used to talk about freeing her like Tarik's father did Darik."
Cole smiled as the four of them and Punta left the room headed for the guest suite down the hall. "Yes she was freed and has been taking classes on how to live with humans. She is also being taught how to help Tia at the school, without interfering in the school itself. There may be some things Tia is going to have to help her with, because all though I have several females in my troops who have attended Hogwarts, they know things have changed and none of them were in the Slytherin house. Moon wants to do this and she and Tia will be good for each other." When they stopped outside one of the doors, Cole turned to Tarik and said, "I told them this had to be done formally Tarik, so you may have to prompt a little."
Tarik shook his head as he said, "Lance, you know how Tia is about owning elves. She is not going to be at all happy about getting one. She treats Darik as if he is just another member of Core. Which has him on his punching bag almost daily. Tia's blood magic let's others understand her feelings should she catch anybody treating him or any other elves with even a hint that they are a servant." Tarik laughed at the memory of the last Slytherin that allowed Tia to find out that she was ordering the elves at Hogwarts to do her homework for her.

TIA ANDREAS
As they had walked down the hall one of the members of Cole's army walked up and helped Tarik into his official robes, then bowed slightly and walked away. Tarik said a quiet thank you and then looked at Cole, who only smiled back and nodded his recognition of the deed. Tarik entered the guest suite first when Cole had unlocked the door, staying very quiet. He wanted to see if they both understood how this formal meeting was done. Lance had nodded about the now known piece of Ravenclaw’s prophecy as had Fixer. He was going to insure later that the Egyptian Ministry Council understood just what the Magi thought of their interference.
Landon and Tia had stood there hand in hand and both bowed their heads momentarily. Landon then walked quietly up to Lance and asked, “Do you have the request forms?”
Lance shook his head and saw Landon's eyes glance at Tarik, who was still standing Regally at Lance's side. The look of disappointment on the young mans face also showed worry that things were not going to go as expected. Lance smiled as he quietly said, “There is no need for those forms Landon. This talk is about to take place, and will replace the need for them. Just one piece of advice, Be yourself.”
Tia was still furious about what she had found out. The young Slytherin grabbed a hold of Landon as if any minute he would be taken from her. Still holding on she asked Tarik and Lance, “Can they really force me to marry Jackson? I hate him and will never agree to marry him! If I can’t marry Landon, then I won’t marry anyone. Don’t they understand I can’t marry somebody I don’t love? I love Landon and he loves me. I won’t let them take him from me...” Tia’s temper was getting the better of her and unshed tears were in her eyes. Landon must have realized cause he stood in front of her.
Cole stepped up beside Tarik and looked at the group in the room. Tarik was in fine form as he should be. Even though Cole would be doing the joining and be Tarik's second in the Blood-joining ceremony, Tarik, second in line for the thrown, was the official Magi reprehensive of the Egyptian Magical World at this time. Brennan was standing back but watching for any wrong move from anyone, always the security representative. Tia was holding onto Lance as if someone was going to all of a sudden tell her this was all a mistake and she was not going to get her heart's desire. Landon was trying to intervene between Tia and whatever problem he thought might occur. He was her protector already.
Even though Cole knew Tia was not talking to him, he said, "Princess I have already explained to you that for the moment we have the EMO blocked. The Amir is here to help us sort things out so we can block them hopefully permanently. Now we need is for you to stand quietly and let Landon ask for what it is you both so much desire." Cole smiled at both of the young ones. He watched as Tia took Landon's hand and took a small step back.
Landon looked into her eyes and then straightened his shoulders. He turned toward Tarik and said, " Sir, I formally request for Tia's hand in marriage. I have no desire for her throne but will if she chooses to that her place as leader of Egypt, I will stand beside her. I know I am marked as Khalid's son but I have no wish to walk his path. Sir, I have loved Tia since she first came to Hogwarts and have done my very best to find myself worthy in her and her protectors' eyes. I will forever be hers as we are bound at the very heart of our being..." Landon stopped afraid that he was doing this request all wrong. He had spoken his heart and had been himself. The seventh year wondered if it had been enough.
Tarik only smiled as he looked at Fixer and said calmly, "Frank Cole, I have requested my sister to review the rules in this matter, have I not?"
"No answer has arrived yet Amir." Cole was actually enjoying himself. This part was finally coming together. He had worked long hours trying to get everything lined up and it had taken all his patience to wait until the right moment arrived.
Tarik again looked at Landon and Tia. "Who has the legal Blood rights to Princess Tia Andreas?" He knew who but everything was recorded so he decided to make the EMC sweat, as they had no rights as far as Tia was concerned. As Tia's Blood Guardian, only Lance Kildare had legal grounds to sign for Tia. Tarik smiled as he thought of those on the EMC who thought by removing Tarik they would control Tia's future. William Andreas had been very sure in his choices and dealings where his children had been concerned.
Lance took a small step forward and gave a shallow bow. "I have the legal Blood right to sign for Tia Andreas, as her only living protector. This right was handed to me by William Andreas her father when he passed away. I take full responsibility for my actions." Lance smiled because he was sure this would not be the end of his need to stand up for what he was doing. They were doing this as legally as possible but there were those who wanted control over Tia, who did not believe in or follow the laws of the Egyptian Magical World.
Tarik smiled as he said very formal, "The Acting Head of the Magi Council recognizes Lance Kildare as Blood Guardian to Tia Andreas. Who has the right to sign on behalf of Landon Russo? Is his Blood father present?"
Cole took a short step forward and took the papers that Tarka had been holding. Reverently he handed them to Tarik, saying, "There seems to be some contention of who Landon's Blood Father is, so we have signed papers from Khalid Onaris and Anthony Mirabeau giving their individual permission for Landon Russo to be joined with Tia Andreas. Both men have given permission for you to appoint someone to sign the formal contracts in their names." Cole took a step back.
Just as Cole finished his speech there was a knock at the door, and Darik walked in, clad in official robes of his own. Punta, Tarka and Mecum all bowed, which was returned by Darik. Darik walked up to Tarik, bowed slightly and handed him a note, then smiled broadly as he looked at Tia and Landon. Turning back to Tarik, Darik said, looking into the Amir's eyes, "Amir, Amira Arianna, has looked over your papers and can find nothing wrong legally with them. She does request though that you act wisely in this, and wanted me to remind you there were strong consequences in an error."
Tarik bowed and said, "Agreed Tocoferty Darik. Has Amira Arianna looked into what I requested earlier? I have need to appoint somebody as Landon Russo's Blood Guardian. I was considering Mr. Frank Cole as owner of this island. Was the Formal Background Check done on him? Does he qualify under the guidelines set done by Magi Law?" Tarik gave a sly smile as he hoped Fixer was sweating concerning the depth of a Formal Background Check.
Cole eyes shot to Tarik. It had been a long time since anyone had knowingly done a background check on him. The one that Arianna would do would dig deep. He wasn't sweating it too much because he had always been very discreet when he had done anything in the outside world. He had tried to never interfere with the Egyptian Magical World, even when he was digging deep for information. The friends he had made on the council were all legally there and he never asked for them to do anything illegal as far as the laws they enacted. Slowly his eyes went to Darik.
Darik smiled back at Master Frank. "The Amira has completed her search. He is Blood tied to the Madjai, through his marriage to Maggie Onaris, a full blooded Medjai. His background check has come back with no flaws in it. He is eligible for the appointment, Amir Tarik." Darik again smiled at Master Frank and gave him a slight bow. He had heard through the other elves on the island, the man could be trusted, although he seemed to go about things in some strange ways. Darik had helped to train all five Tocoferty on the island and even a few of the others who were being filtered in as needed.
Tarik watch the children closely as they listened to the Formal Hearing. He was extremely proud of them both. Neither had interrupted the hearing though Tia looked as if her patience was wearing thin. Tarik turned to Fixer and said very formally, "Do you Magi Frank Cole accept the office of Blood Guardian of Landon Russo until such time as deemed by this court that the posting is no longer needed?" Tarik had just broken his own rule. He personally wanted Fixer to have no say in the actions of Landon or Tia. The good thing was that now Esmeralda had to consult Cole as did Khalid or Antonio in anything, which involved Landon.
Cole fought the huge smile which threatened to overtake his face. He needed to keep this ceremony formal so he said, "I do accept the office of Blood Guardian of Landon Russo and hereby state I will protect his interest in all things with my life." Cole bowed and went to stand behind Landon. He put his hand on the boys shoulder and gave it a slight squeeze. He would have to find out later how the boy felt about the appointment. For now all he could do was help make them as safe as possible from the Dark Sect and his mother, Esmeralda.
Tarik looked at Landon and asked formally, "Do you Landon Russo have any questions or objections with the appointment of Magi Frank Cole as your Blood Guardian?"
Landon felt Cole's squeeze on his shoulder. He was no longer scared of this man, although he realized the man was powerful and would get what he wanted at all times. Glancing at Tia and receiving a small nod from her, he straightened his shoulders and said, "I have no questions or objections to the appointment of Magi Frank Cole as my Blood Guardian." Landon's thoughts went to his sister Stella at the school. He did not want her brought into this, but he was her protector also. He kept her as safe as he could from the craziness of their mother and the hurtfulness of their brother Jackson. Now he would have Tia to protect also. It was a little scary, but he knew he had real friends, in the Core to help. He kept his eyes on Tarik, to see what had to be done next.
Tarik said, "Since the appointment is accepted by both parties and the Magi Council, I see no reason to delay the request for a marriage contract to be discussed concerning Landon Russo and Grand Amira Tia Andreas. Do either party have any reason under Magi Law of need for further discuss?" Tarik inwardly smiled as the rest of his duties were to oversee the signing and the Blood Ceremony. He looked at the two children and then thought to Darik, "If this happens then this island is about to get several visitors as Tia will want Core and members of her family here? Can we protect them? Also is Landon's finished as the boy will need it? I just hope Fixer knows that he now must protect Landon from even Khalid. Do you think they are really ready my brother?" He prayed that he was doing the right thing.
Tarik received a broad smile and nod from Darik. Took the papers in everyones hands and spread them out on the table. He said, "The contracts have been read by all concerned. Master Lance if you will please sign in the places marked. Then Master Frank I will also need your signature in the places marked for you." Darik stood back as each man stepped forward and placed their signatures in the designated places. As they did this Darik explained, "We will have several copies of this document made and deposited in all the correct spots and copies will be given to some of the family members needing them. Darik tried to fight the smirk as he thought of what Esmeralda was going to do when she got her copy. Darik would have to make sure someone they needed hurt would deliver the copy to her. She would most likely injure the messenger.
When all the signatures had been given by the adults, Darik called Tia and Landon forward to add their signatures showing they knew what was in the contracts. All the copies were rolled together and handed to Tarka to be given to others Darik when he left so he could get the copies made and distributed. Darik took a step back and bowed. "It is done."
Landon and Tia were both shocked at how simple it was. Tia looked at Cole and asked, "I know I have no real say yet but is it possible for the Core and maybe my aunt Sasha, Arianna, Richard, Flo and Gab and Nat to attend as well as the Spellman's who are like family?" She looked at Landon and smiled. Today she and Landon would be one. Tia smiled at Cole's less than enthusiastic nod.

FRANK COLE
Three hours ago, Cole had stood in the guest suite, promising to act on Landon's behalf. During that three hours he had to set up security for more people on the island from the outside world than he had ever permitted. Some of them were very powerful Wizards and Witches. When Tia had asked for her guest list to be filled, he had given her three hours to get anyone who wanted to come, to go to one of the three Portkeys he had set up. The Portkeys would bring each person to the main questioning room in the barracks. Punta was in charge of making sure all of her invites went out on secured channels.
Cole had also gone to the kitchen, and made the day for his Chef. The man was a pure genius and had not been able to really use much of his expertise. Cooking for the army had meant mostly the creation of good, nutritious everyday foods. Now he was going to be able to plan a party and even come up with a cake. Tia had requested several Egyptian foods, plus some of the favorites of the school. Sara Puddifoot had already delivered a huge supply of her No Name cookies, and the Chef was beside himself trying to figure out what the ingredients were. The man had even suggested that he should marry her to find out her secrets.
It was now 8:00 pm and most of the guests had arrived. The room had been decorated in the school colors of Red, Green, Blue and Gold along with Royal Purple added to stand for the Medjai. Tia had been taken by a couple of Cole's female recruits to a separate room, where they promised to pamper and dress her befitting a Princess. Cole had given his permission for them to import what was needed. Landon had stayed in the guest suite, where he had been outfitted with a set of Royal robes, similar to the ones Tarik wore. Since he was marrying Tia, he would have the right to wear the robes now. The poor boy had been beside himself, wondering what was happening to Tia. Darik had finally told him if he did not settle down, he was going to bind him in a chair. It was easier on Landon when he followed Tarik, Brennan and Lance into the receiving room to greet the guest as they had arrived.
Cole turned on his monitor behind his desk. He was dressed and would be going down the hall in a very few minutes. Security was on high alert and the whole island was double sealed. Screens had been set up at the training area in in the main room of the barracks so the troops could watch the ceremony. It would also help most of the ones who would be concentrating on the children in the future, to see who was important in their lives. They all already knew the Core members who were present, because the children had been visiting for training off and on over the past couple of years. Arianna, Tarik's sister, Librarian at Hogwarts and head of the Caretaker Group, was staying close to Richard Greene, Professor of Herbology and one of Cole's friends when he was permitted to admit it, depending on the company around. Flo Richards, Tarik's daughter-in-law was staying close to Lance. Now he did not know about that item. It would be interesting to check on the connection. Nat was a vampire and married to Gab, which was a very strange connection, but it worked for them. Since it was very close to a full moon Gab had probably decided not to come.
Marco and Neo Spellman had been making the rounds of the room, talking to various people. They both had changed into black slacks and white button shirts, and black dress shoes, which was the non-uniform dress of Cole's men. The woman wore, black skirts and white blouses, if they wished.
Cole turned off the monitor, straightened his own robes and headed down the hall. It was time to get started. As he passed Tia's door, she and Lance stepped into the Hall. "Princes you look stunning. You are going to take Landon's breathe away." Cole motioned to continue down the hall. Glancing at Tia he saw she was blushing.
When they reached the door to the reception room Cole turned to Tia and Lance and said, "You two wait out here until I can get everyone in position." He bent down and kissed Tia on the forehead. "I am so glad to have met you Princess and it is an honor to be called your friend. We might not always agree, but hold it in your heart that I am your friend and always looking out for your best interest." Cole squeezed her hands and turning entered the reception room.
Slowly he walked to the front of the room being careful not to step on the red carpet with flowers laced over it. All the guest stood on both sides. Landon stood at the front waiting for Cole to take his spot as the master of ceremonies at the end of the carpet. Tarik stood on the other side, smiling broadly. Cole whispered to Landon, "I am proud of you Landon, for everything you have done so far and for taking on this responsibility. She is a precious being. Always remember though you are not alone. Part of maturity is knowing when to ask for help." Cole smiled and the boys nod, watching Landon's eyes flicker to the door where Tia would enter.
Cole turned to Tarik and said, "I will be there for them Tarik. I only want their happiness. Do not hesitate Amir to ask for my help when it comes to their safety."
Tarik nodded but said only, "We will talk later most likely before I leave for Hogwarts."
Cole nodded to Mecum who had been placed by the door leading to the hall, partly as a security measure. The elf turned and opened the door. Lance entered with Tia on his arm. Both were beaming. Tia's eyes went straight to Landon's as she was slowly lead down the carpet. Flower peddles were being thrown in a gentle shower, but the guests. When they reached the front, Cole stepped forward, took Landons right hand and placed Tia's right hand in his. Taking a piece of homespun silk he wrapped the two hands then put his hand on top of the wrapping. "Today we come to this place to seal the bond between Grand Amira Tia Andreas and future Amir Landon Russo. From this moment on, they are joined as one and will be treated as such. Lance Kildare as Tia's sponsor and myself as Landon's sponsor, have pledged ourselves to assist them in any trial which life puts in their path. Family and friends have pledged their support by being in attendance during this time of joy." Looking at Tia he said, "Tia today you are to be sealed in love and respect to the man standing in front of you. This man has been chosen for you by those who have found you to care for him deeply. He will be your Consort, your friend and your husband. Be happy Tia."
Turning to Landon he said, "Landon Russo, today you are to be sealed in love and respect to the woman standing in front of you. This woman has been chosen for you by those who have found you to care for her deeply. She will be your Princess, your friend and your wife. She is to be cherished above all others. Be happy Landon."
Cole turned to the guests and said, "You are witnessing the greatest time for these two people. Today they are sealed with the love and respect of us all. The binding is being sealed by the Magi people of all denominations. In accordance with their time honored customs Amir Tarik will proceed with the Blood Ceremony at this time." Cole turned to Tarik and nodded. Removing his hands from the newlyweds he carefully unwound the silk cloth. Steeping to the side he uncovered a small round table and showed a large knife, the handle of which was also wrapped in a piece of Royal Blue cloth. Cole reverently picked up the knife and holding it so it lay across both of his hands he presented it to Tarik. Then he stepped behind Landon and Tia, took their still intwinded hands and placed them palms up. Tia was shaking and Landon was forcing himself to stay steady. Cole was ready to grab either one of them if their legs gave out. Whispering to Tia he said, "We are almost done Princess. It will only be a small cut and then you will be truly one."
Tia gave Cole a small smile and then turned her eyes to Landon, looking for strength. This appeared to give the boy strength also, because he stood a little taller and smiled back at her. That smile stayed on his face even as Tarik walked closer with the blade.
Tarik stepped to within a few inches of the couple and quickly took the point of the knife and cut a small slice in Tia's and Landon's palms, just big enough for blood to start to escape the cuts. Then he turned the palms together and rewrapped the hands. Smiling he said, "There. You are now truly one." Stepping back, he beamed. The two would stay joined like this for about an hour, then the cloth would be removed and carefully saved to prove their union. Tarik raised his hands in the air and said loudly. "It is done. Please come forward and great the newly sealed couple." Cole stepped a little farther back and off to the side. He needed to check with security and make sure all of these people were off his island within the hour. No one had been allowed out of the room. Neo and Marco were being watched to make sure they did not leave with the first group. Neo had completed his training and Marco needed to get back to the school, but Cole wanted a short conversation with the two men before they left.
Cole watched as the Reporter from the Daily Prophet that Franco had sent instead of coming himself, and the man's wife interview people and take pictures. Cole nodded to Punta, making sure he understood all the pictures were to be checked before they left the island. Punta had nodded and had an elf following the couples every move. All of the Portkeys had been turned off and would only be activated for short periods and each of the guests was cleared to leave. Cole made sure that Tia, Landon, Lance, Neo and Marco all knew to stay for a bit, then he walked over and stood by the three Portkeys resembling statues of each of the founders of Hogwarts and waited to say goodbye to his guests.

NEO SPELLMAN
Neo stood by the wall. Marco was standing next to him as they watched the guests leave. They had been able to talk with most of them and assured them they would be returning soon. When Fixer had stopped by and told them to stick around, when they were leaving became more of an if proposition . Tia and Landon were sitting in on the couch at the other end of the room, their hands still wrapped. Lance was just starting to remove the wrap and check on the cuts in their palms. He would have one of the elves heal any part of the cuts, which had not closed yet. Tarik stood straight and tall not far from the couple talking with Darik, who had also stayed. Brennan seemed to be quietly working his way to the Portkey statues. Neo tried to not let it show in his eyes, that he knew Brennan was about to try and make a break for it.
When the last of the guests had left, Neo saw Cole heading in their direction. He stood at attention noticing Marco had also taken the same posture. "Gentlemen at ease. I just wanted to have a small chat before the two of you left." Cole looked around the two men and said, "Brennan, stop." Looking at Mecum he said. "Please assist Master Brennan to one of the chairs and make sure he is comfortable until I have a chance to talk with him." Cole received a nod, and saw Brennan being led to one of the straight back chairs along the wall and his legs bound to the legs of the chair. Mecum remained by his side.
Chuckling Cole turned back to Neo and Marco. "Neo you have completed your training and now hold the status of Specialist in my troop. Do not abuse it. Marco you have earned Regular status and are welcome back anytime to try for Specialist. Neo will be able to fill you in on what training you might want to do before you try. Neo do you have any questions?"
Neo shook his head as he said, "I doubt me or Marco will be back for quite a while Frank. We might be blood brothers but I still am not sure your trust in Khalid is in Tia or Landon's best interest. I am not sure I can or will ever fully trust you again. I need time to think and I can't do that here.
Marco inwardly cringed, as he knew that Fixer wanted Neo as a part of the PACT. Neo was not falling in with Fixer's plans. He prayed his brother knew what saying no to Fixer could cost them all especially Frankie and Charlie.
Cole nodded to Neo as he watched Marco try to hide a cringe. Neo was still going to take some convincing before he was fully on board. "You are right Neo that we are still Blood Brothers and I take that position very seriously. Think about what has happened here. You have now gotten the training you needed, without too many strings attached; Frankie has been able to learn to control his gift of changing into other animals; even Marco has been able to get back in shape. Tarik, is learning that I am not all bad," Cole glanced at Tarik then turned back to the two men, "and I think he just might be learning to trust me. I have Lance helping with medical here on the island and the young couple is finally joined, which I assure you will make you happy when you think about it and the implications I have added. They are safer sealed than un-sealed. I am trying to strengthen the bonds needed Neo not destroy them." Cole did not know how else to explain it to the man he had once saved when he was 12-years-old and Neo had been only 10-years-old, from human traffickers. If you need me or my abilities, you know how to get in touch. There is always a representative at the Shadow Lounge when it is open. Darik can get through to me and I will have one of them men tell you more about this ring." Cole pulled the Specialist ring out of his pocket and handed it to Neo."
Turning to Marco he said, "The same goes for you Sergeant. Your things," he said as Tarka walked up with all of Neo and Marco's belongings, "have been packed and you are ready to leave. I know you want to get to the reception the school is putting together and it is late. The children, Tarik and Lance will be following soon."
Neo and Marco nodded in unison, picked up their things and headed for one of the Portkeys. Before they touched the statue head, they both turned and looked at the room. Marco was wondering what he had missed at the school. Neo was worried about why Gab had not come. It was close to the full moon but he still would have been safe for this short visit. Neo also knew he would probably be back soon. Cole was his blood brother and he was now part of the man's army, both of which were solid reasons for his need to return. He just regretted the ability of the man to take hold of part of his life.

LANDON RUSSO
Landon watched as the silk cloth was removed from his and Tia's hands. Before he even looked at his own injury he took Tia's hand and checked hers. Looking up at Lance he asked, "Is she ok? Fix her first." As Lance checked out Tia's hand, Landon looked into her eyes and said, "Well wife of mine, I love you." Landon smiled at the beautiful shade of pink which covered Tia's face. He had not been able to get that reaction from her in a long time.
Holding her hand he looked out into the room. Neo and Marco had just picked up what looked like a couple of suitcases and were headed for one of the Portkeys. When he looked at Cole, their eyes met. At first Landon inwardly cringed. The man now had control over his life. He could over rule Khalid, Anthony and even the family he had just married into. Landon knew his marriage to Tia was going to be in name only until she graduated. It was going to be a very long two years. When he saw the man walking toward them, he turned back to Tia and then stood up and slightly in front of her. He took his duties very seriously. She was his wife now not just his girlfriend.
Tia smiled up at her new husband. Pulling Landon back down onto the couch she softly said, "Landon dear, sit back down so Cousin Lance can check your hand. I love you too my dear husband." Tia had seen Cole walking toward them also and she was worried that the man might ask too much of her new husband. Their life was going to be happy, but there were going to be problems with those who never wanted to see this happen, like the Dark Sect and those connected to it and also those who would rather have others with some control of her life. Landon's mother could be a very vindictive person when crossed. Before the Core members had left the celebration Tia had asked them to keep a close eye on Stella, Landon's sister and the one he had been protecting at school since she had arrived.
Tia looked at Lance to get confirmation that Landon's hand was also all right, then she turned her eyes on the advancing Mr. Cole, who for all intense purposes was now her father-in-law, because of what Tarik had set up. This arrangement had it's good points and it's bad, and she would have to trust that Tarik knew what he was doing. Now all she wanted to do was get back to Hogwarts for her reception and then to bed. She softly sighed to herself, because she and Landon would still be separated every night.
Tarik saw Cole advancement on the children. He took the needed step to get between Fixer and the pair. He said quickly, "What do you want Cole? Can't you see that Lance is still checking them? You still have a lot to prove and your contact with my brother has me concerned." He purposely sounded angrier then he was. They needed to know the children had control of their now combined abilities. He thought to Cole, "We need to make them extremely upset or furious. If they fail this test, they will not be allowed to leave until they learn control. Also insure Brennan does not interfere as me, you and Landon test them."
Lance looked up from Landon's hand. Both the slit on Tia and Landon's hands had closed nicely. He looked at Tarik, because he knew what had to happen next and Tarik was setting it up. Lance stood allowing just enough room between him and Tarik, for the young ones to be able to see what was happening in the room.
Cole stopped and thought for a second. This was a good set up and he had everything, or should he say everyone in the room, to get Tia angry and upset. "Ah I am sorry Amir. I will give you all a few more minutes to get the young ones settled." With this he turned and walked toward Brennan who was eyeing him with major suspicion. Just as he got to the man he whispered, "Sorry about this Brennan, but we need to test Tia's reactions and Landon's ability to help her control her new Bonding abilities." Saying nothing else Cole took his fist and slammed it into Brennan's jaw. The man would have hit the floor if he wasn't bound by his legs. As Cole swung he said loudly, "How dare you look at me like that. I guess you haven't learned." Cole reached out and slammed his fist into Brennan's midsection, hard enough to send the air out of his lungs, but not hard enough to injure him. "So Brennan, what else do you want to say?" Cole kept his ears tuned into those just off to his left. Tia had seen the whole thing, now to find out how she would react and see also if Landon could help her get under control. Brennan's and Tarik's blood magic were being blocked, so this test was all for Tia and Landon.
Tia had watched the whole scene and to say she was furious was putting it mildly. Before she knew it her new ability latched out at Cole as she said, "How Dare You!"
Landon watched as instead of things flying, he witnessed his new Blood Guardian go flying straight for the nearest wall. Tia's new strengthened ability was incredible. He looked at Lance and thought, "Tia has never had that much power, Lance." He tried quickly to figure out how to save Cole from being killed. He also tried to figure out just how to calm his new wife down but had no clue just what his own ability would do. He looked to Cole for guidance.
Cole shouted in his military Commanders voice, "Help her get under control Landon, now before the elves do."
Landon heard a voice, "Don't be afraid that you will hurt her. Feel what skill is needed. Now create in yourself the ability to use the fullness of that skill and don't doubt yourself." Landon smiled as he watched the aspiration skill take hold of Cole. Then he looked deep into his wife's eyes as he thought, "Enough Tia! You almost killed him. Get a hold of that gift."
He watched as the shocked look on Tia's face was replaced with terror as she said ashamed by what she had done, "Landon, I...didn't mean to..." She wondered if she would ever learn control.
Cole pushed himself off the floor from where he had landed against the wall behind Tia and Landon and waved Mecum toward Brennan to make sure he was all right. Walking back to the others he said, "Well Tarik, was that enough of a test." He didn't care if Tia knew it had been a test. She and Landon had passed. With the other help he was about to offer the two young people would be fine.
Tarik nodded as he said, "I had not planned on you using Bren though."
He turned towards the children as he said, "Now can you guys see why we are so careful with the pairing? If the sealed pairs are not Soul-bound, then their increased power could destroy them. Landon, your abilities are in perfect balance to help Tia's. You two can never hurt the other. Tia, you had to understand the nature of your gift, which is the protection of others, where Landon's is guidance. He can create any skill needed for any situation." Tarik knew now with all certainty that Landon was Antonio's and not Khalid's.
Tia was crying as she thought, "I latched out to protect Brennan. I could have killed Fixer. How can Tarik say my ability's nature is protection will all ever do with it is hurt those that are trying to help?" She was disappointed in herself and tried to withdraw into herself.
Cole walked up to the girl and put his finger under her chin, so he could lift her eyes to meet his. "Princess you did exactly what you should have done, although I will admit I was not expecting the strength," he added with a smile. "You need to learn to listen to Landon for support. You will ultimately have the final decisions when you take the High Seat on the council, but you will always have Landon to protect that decision. If he tells you to do something, physically, such as get down, get away, run or just sit quietly, you need to listen to his words of wisdom. He has the ability to see what is going on around you while you take care of what is in front of you. Understand?"
Tia gave a small smile as she nodded
Cole turned to Landon. "That was very well done Amir Landon," Cole smiled as the title caused Landon to look at him is slight amazement before the boy straightened his spine and stood tall. "You heard what I said to Tia. You are to not so much worry about what she is deciding, you will need to trust that she can make the decision on her own or will have the intelligence to ask for advice if she is not sure. Pay attention to your surroundings. Do not get lost in the moment. There will be those who try and trick you into running in one direction when you should be staying where you are. And please ask for advice when you think you need it. It takes a wise man to know he does not know everything and needs help. I will be here for you. You know how to get in touch. The people of Hogwarts will help and you have a new family now that understands the royalty part of your new life. Listen, learn and use what you learn. Understand?"
Landon nodded and again thought to ask for advice in protecting his sister Stella. He would wait and just prayed he did not wait too long.
When Lance was checking Landon's hand he had picked up the stray thoughts about Landon's worries about his sister. "Landon, Stella will be fine. The Core has taken her under their wing and she will be watched after. Remember she just became a sister to a Amir and a sister-in-law to an Amira. I think she is going to feel very special and protected. When we get back to the school we can see what can be done to make you know she is safe. Your job now is to be a good husband and Consort to a beautiful lady." Lance looked at Tia and smiled. There was that blush again.
Fixer straightened up and said, "Now I have a present of my own to present the happy couple." Cole turned motioned to a male and female elf which had been quietly standing off in the shadows. As they came forward he said, "Tia this is Moon. She will be your personal attendant. And Landon this is Cliff who will be your personal attendant. They are joined so they will have no problem being with you." Cole had purposely used the words attendant, because Tia, was fanatical about the idea of not owning elves. Both elves came forward and bowed slightly to both Tia and London.
Tia was about to show her distaste in the thought of owning any person. Instead she smiled as she asked Moon, "We need to figure out a way of payment, any ideas? I value all my friends and have never liked the idea that elves are beneath a wizard. Darik is my friend as I hope one day you will be."
Landon just nodded as he said to Cliff, "You were the one that got me to understand my ability? Thank you and by the way, I agree with Tia."
Moon and Cliff looked into each other's eyes. The concept of payment was not known to them. It had not been in any of their training. They wondered if it was the same concept as a reward . Both of them had only been freed about a month ago and joined at the same time. Tocoferty Darik, had started to teach them how to live in the free human world, but it was still a very scarry thing. Cliff stepped closer to Moon, put his forehead to hers to give her comfort and then both turned to Master Cole for instructions.
Both elves looked at Cole with questions in their eyes. Cole chuckled and said, "Tia why not take them and let Darik get them settled. I don't think they understand the concept of payment . Darik can talk with them and see what would be special to them to receive, but their service will not depend on how much or how little you reward their efforts. They have both asked for this assignment." Cole smiled at Moon and Cliff who were nodding in unison and looking toward Tia and Landon. "Now you two it is time to get you home and to the party, that I am sure has already started. Tarik will explain the rules the two of you must live under, when he returns in a short while. Until then hugging, handholding and kissing are allowed, but nothing else." Cole reached out and shook Landon's hand and then kissed Tia on the forehead. "Good fortune to you both." Then he waved his hand toward the statues, adding, "Lance, you, Darik and Brennan will go with them." Cole looked in Brennan's direction and said, "Your services are not needed at the moment, Profiler. I will be in touch." Turning back to Tarik he said, "Amir, may I talk with you for just a moment longer please?"
Tarik looked at Darik and smiled. They had no need for words to understand Tarik was not feeling threatened by Cole's request. Darik knew how Tia felt about the elves so he would be able to get the elves settled in their new life and then work with Tia and Lance until the two of them learned to deal with their new lives. Tarik turned to Cole, nodding and said, "I have no problem remaining Amir Cole. I agree we have some details to finalize." Tarik hoped Tia would think it was his idea to stay and finish some of the legal paperwork. At the moment she was just standing there trying to figure out what she should do next.
Landon took her hand and nodded, confirming to Cole he understood the tenure of the elves service. They needed the elves but as far as he and Tia were concerned, the elves were free and could come and go as they wished. When he looked at them he knew in his heart, they had taken the job for their lifetime, which was longer than ever he or Tia would ever hope to live.
Tarik smiled and nodded as Darik lead the others to the Portkey, stopping only to make sure Brennan would be able to make it on his own. Brennan was strong and knew he had actually gotten off lightly. Cole could have kept him on the island. The man was still a puzzle to Tarik, one he was figuring he would never totally understand.
As they arrived at the Portkeys Tarik heard Landon explain "Tia, Fixer is not going to hurt Tarik." He wondered how he had known what she was feeling about her worries for Tarik. He looked at Cliff, to see if the elf could help him with an answer, but before he could say anything they were back at Hogwarts.

TARIK SADAKI
After the last glimmer of the others had faded, Tarik turned to Cole and raised his eybrows. He was not sure what the man wanted to talk to him about. He had a few of his own questions, but at the moment he was not sure how this was going to go.
Cole looked at the Amir. Smiling he said, "Please have a seat Tarik. I wanted to have a few minutes alone with you to make sure you had no immediate questions. We can talk freely here. Punta the elf will stay but only so we have someone to help if we need something." Cole smiled at Punta and mentally told him to dismiss the others. It had been a long time since only one other person besides his troops had been on the island and the elves deserved a rest. Turning back to Tarik, he asked, "Would you like to start Amir?"
Tarik said, "I think we can manage on our own Fixer. Give them a break. I saw a different side of you today. A side I might come to trust should it come out more? Fixer, you need to understand our people were betrayed not just from the EMC but also from within our own ranks. I can't trust Khalid but it seems you do? Khalid is not Landon's father, Antonio is. Landon proved it himself by his ability. It is too close to what Antonio does. One of my questions is why is Khalid falsely claiming Landon? Second, why are you helping him? Don't tell me you are not because ever since Hog's Head you have been on Khalid's payroll. That background check showed certain things that show you are still working for my brother. In addition, Khalid would never have given an outsider that much say in family affairs. Therefore, I ask instincts in choosing as Landon's Blood Guardian knowing that in doing so any doubts the Core had especially Tia would disappear. Convince me that I made the right choice because all the Intel we have showed that you are the last person I should trust,"
Cole sat down in one of the comfortable chairs and leaned back. He used the arms of the chair to rest his elbows and intertwined his fingers just above his lap. Stretching out his feet in front of him he crossed his ankles and watched Tarik for a few long heartbeats. "Khalid is not claiming Landon. He knows that Antonio is Landon's real father, because of blood tests he had done. The test showing Khalid is the father was paid for by Esmeralda. Since she is the boy's blood mother both Khalid and I also understand that if this was fought in your courts it could be years before it is proven one way or the other. This time would give Esmeralda more time to get Tia and Jackson promised to each other. I was not lying when I said we were on a very tight deadline to get the two of them sealed. The vote comes up in about four or five days and she has enough backing to get Jackson into the spot she wants him in."
Tarik smiled as he said, "One thing you will learn about me Frank is that if you are honest with me, I will be more likely to trust you. A Magi can feel the truth, myself more than others due to my empathetic ability. I hate being lied to, remember that. Now since you were honest, I can give you a little info to help in that area. Seth is convinced that Stella Russo is connected to the Wrights, his line mainly. He wants her tested as her and another student look to much like his first wife to be not, their son's children. Thing is he was told his baby son was murdered the same time as his wife, in America. They found her body but not his son's."
Cole inwardly shook his head. This was not information he could use at this time, but information was always useful somewhere along the line, so he filed it away. "Thank you for that information Amir. Now let us see what was your next question. Ah, yes…. Something about being on Khalid's payroll. While I will admit that, he gave me this island and started me off. What he has done so far was a belated wedding present. He had no idea until recently that I had married his only daughter. She has since died and he felt I should have something. I told him I was looking for a home base and he gave me this island. I do not report to Khalid. I do not send him information that only others should know. I collect information Tarik and I use all the resources at my disposal to collect that information. Khalid is a resource. He pays for the information I permit him to have, nothing more."
Tarik smiled as he said, "Your deceased wife is not Khalid only daughter but he has always claimed any that he found. My brother was looking for something in the relationship he had. Sometimes I wonder if he ever really found his Soulmate. I will tell you something, I have never been totally convinced that he is guilty of half of the crimes he is blamed for. It is what gives me hope that the Dark One might not have my brother fully. That just maybe we can still save him." He could dream at least that one day he could clear his brother and bring him home.
Cole just looked at Tarik, for a few more long moments. "There is always hope Tarik," He would never be able to tell this man that his brother pretended more than anything to be part of the Dark Sect. If he didn't he would lose everything he had and all of his family would be destined to die. Khalid had made him promise never to reveal the true relationship. Cole looked at his watch, "It is getting very late Tarik, and I know you want to at least make an appearance at the young one's party. It should be interesting keeping them apart until Tia graduates. Landon is a gentleman through and through, but he is in love and somewhere along the line they are going to get into a situation where being very close is just going to have too much of a draw. I do have one question of my own, Amir. What are the plans to keep Landon busy and close as Tia finishes her last two years at the school?"
Tarik smiled as he asked, "I wonder if my staying away from Khalid has been the wrong choice? As for Tia and Landon, that is yours and Lance's problem but if Tia gets pregnant before she graduates, Sasha will have all our heads. My wife is the other reason I was trying to hold off as she had already foreseen and feared the Dark One or the Seven would use Landon to get Tia. Why Sasha is seeing the Seven members in her visions is anybody's guess but she believes they are back and are worse now that Daniel no longer is alive and leading them."
"Tarik, I think I can truthfully say that Khalid does not want you around him." Cole needed to make Tarik think he needed to stay away from Khalid. The Dark Sect would like nothing better than to get the two brothers together. "He would probably shoot first and ask questions later. Khalid does not forget the past and he will not forgive what you have done, in hunting him and hounding him at every turn. Stay away Tarik. If I find he wants to try and make up I will let you know, this I can promise you." Cole stood up and added, "Now Amir it is time for you to go and for me to finish up my nighttime chores so I can also retire." Holding out his hand he said, "Thank you for coming Amir. I will be in touch." Cole led Tarik over to the Portkeys turned one on and gently pushed the Amir toward it. Tarik disappeared.

FRANK COLE
Cole stretched and smiled at Punta. "We are alone my friend. It has been a while. I am not sure whom else we will invite to our small island paradise. Monitor Moon and Cliff for me please. Tarka can add it to his duties I think. If he cannot than let me know and we will see what else can be arranged.
Walking toward his home, Cole thought about what he was going to do for a couple of days, because he was definitely going to take some time off. Franco could now use his powers, and Cole had a little say in what was put into the Daily Profit Newspaper. Neo and Marco had been put through some training and both would answer to orders. Cole would be very careful what those orders were though. He now knew what he could depend on the two men knowing and how they would react.
Lance was basically on call if needed and was starting to really concentrate on refining his own powers, Maxwell was at peace with his mind. It still was not considered safe to release his sister from his mind, because of those who would take advantage of her, but they were at peace together. Tia and Landon were joined, which put a small wrench into the Dark Sects plans of getting Jackson and Tia together. Landon had gotten some much needed training. Tarik was actually considering continuing with his translation of the ancient Runes. The Core was happy for their friends and were actually looking forward to returning to the island
Cole walked into his sitting room and sat in the overstuffed Italian Leather chair, in front of the stone fireplace which always had a small fire going in it. He poured himself a glass of wine from the carafe and rested his head back. Trying to make the Dark Sect think he was one of theirs while getting those ready who would eventually fight them, was becoming exhausting work. He still had so many of the parts of the final puzzle to shape and put in place. Tonight though he would only think of happy times. Times he had cherished with his beloved Maggie, before she was taken away from him. Cole let his eyes slowly close, with the vision of the two of them waling through the flowers which had grown on the hill behind their small cottage.

(OOC: Continuation of Elsewhere, Tarik's Visit. EMC = Egyptian magic Council, MOM = Ministry of Magic. This is a combined thread by Barbie and Jane, We hope you are enjoying it.

(OOC: Information of relationship between Khalid and Cole can be found in ARCHIVED 2013 - Mystery Island, Family Ties Are the Hardest To Break (Fixer). This is a combined thread between Barbie and Jane, we hope you are enjoying it.)
