So few seats(Rufus and Tia)
(Continuation of King Cross Station, Wishing I Could Tell Her)
Rufus Scipio
Rufus took one last deep breathe of fresh air before stepping onto the train bound for Hogwarts. Even inside the engine, Rufus could hear parents screaming goodbyes to their children while the children in turn hung out the windows to wave. He checked behind him to see that Tia was still following him. He had just helped her load up all her luggage and offered her a seat next to him on the train. As they past compartment after compartment, Rufus fervently hoped that Tia wouldn't see an empty seat near a friend.
He had just got done explaining to her that there were no seats left, but fortunately enough, he had a spare one right next to him. In reality, Rufus had to scare off the two 1st years so that he could use the seats himself. A whistle blew loudly and the train lurched forward and began the train ride to Hogwarts.
Halfway down the train and having encountered no one along the way, they arrived at the empty seats. Rufus opened the sliding door and gestured for Tia to take a seat. It seemed that no one else had arrived to fill the two other seats so Rufus sat across from her. "Are you excited to go back to Hogwarts?" He didn't know what else to say to break the ice so it seemed appropriate.

Tia was still worried about Telk . She was going to help him and talk to the guard Troy but a couple of kids had stopped her. The boy had said that she had better hurry. When she had asked, Why?
He had said," That the train was almost full and about to leave."
Troy had while checking on Telk told her to go.
So she had followed the boy on to the train. The boy had even helped her with her luggage.
Tia was still wondering if it was another attack. She usually got on with Telk and then found her friends. 'This time it is different.,Tia thought realizing that she was on a different car.
Tia realized the boy had stopped at an empty compartment. As the boy ushered her inside, he had asked a question about Hogwarts.
"Yeah I am."Tia said smiling at the thought of seeing her friends again. "I just hope Telk is okay and will be there soon? " .asked Tia still worried about Telk.
"You?" ,she asked the boy as she tried to get her mind off what she was fearing. 'If my messenger had anything to do with Telk getting hurt?' ,Tia thought not being able to finish.
(occ: I had Telk's permission to say what had happened.)
Rufus Scipio
Rufus smiled. "I'm sure he is already on the train, safe and sound, waiting for the food cart to come trumbling by." He tried to sound encouraging. Chances were that yes, the boy was on the train, somewhere. Probably looking for Tia. Or perhaps not.
"Well, I'm not gonna lie. I miss Hogwarts, I really do, but I'm gonna miss home quite a bit. There's nothing like my mums cooking. Hogwarts doesn't even compare." Plus, the education here is so lax that if I ever have kids, then they are going to Durmstrang for sure. Or maybe Val can teach them.
Rufus looked out the window at the countryside blurring past. He looked back at Tia. "I'm Rufus by the way. Rufus Scipio. What's yours?" He looked her up and down and decided to take a chance. "Are you wearing a necklace? I can catch a small glimpse of gold chain around your neck. Is it a family thing? I used to have one, but then I lost mine."
That wasn't exactly true. His family had never given him anything besides Val as his teacher. But perhaps that was the best present they ever gave him. His family was all rich and lazy. Not a single one would last long in a fight. They only support they gave the Seven was money, but a lot of it at that.
Rufus still had plans for his family that resulted in him gaining a lot of money. He had yet to talk to Val about it, but he was sure that he'd approve. Val was more his father than his real dad was and Rufus would do anything for him. Anything. Which was why he was sitting in this compartment with the Andreas girl, who still hadn't said anything.

Tia thought that this kid was probably right. Telk was probably looking for her. 'The only thing is that he would be looking on car two not this one.' ,Tia thought as her hand went for her medallion. 'I am in for a major talking to when I get to Hogwarts.'
Tia having heard him talk about his mother made her remember the night hers had been murdered.
Tia smiled as she realized that after 11 years, her memories of that night were finally coming back. One day she might even remember who was the shadow in the street., Tia thought with a sly grin as she looked out the window.
Tia being snapped out of her memories by the boy saying something about her medallion. Looking down at her hand near her medallion, she said as she pulled her hand away, "No, it is not a necklace exactly. It was my brother's." Thinking about Marcus and the day she was given the medallion, Tia started wondering if she would ever figure out the writing on it. Jayce had told her that the medallion had been in the Andreas family since the start of the two lines. Tia thought back to Marcus' chessboard it was just as old. Tia had been debating on whether to show the medallion to Tarik. It is just that I don't know how much I can trust him., Tia thought as she rubbed her medallion.
Tia’s memories of the day she received the medalion
Tia had been running a long time. She stopped as she thought about her bad leg. Looking down she hoped it wasn't bleeding. It was but only a little. Sitting down by the beautiful fountain to fit her leg, she started wondering when the attacks would end. At least she thought she knew who was responsible, but why a snake?
Tia was scared that Ryan's crush was starting to get dangerous. "Snakes are deadly, doesn't Ryan understand that?" ,Tia asked aloud.
She had also broke her word to Tarik. She had ran away again. "But the attacks aren't just about me anymore?" ,Tia said crying. "That snake could have attacked any of my friends, not just me." ,Tia said as she wipe her tears.
Looking at the bridge that led to the Grounds, Tia thought, Once I cross that bridge, I will be on the grounds. Tia knew that from there it would be easy to get to the Forbidden Forest and the Centaur. With thoughts of the Centaur, Tia remembered that she still had to apolize to him. Taking one more look around at the area surrounding the Fountain, she made up her mind. All I have to do is lay the trap. ,she thought still worried that it wasn't Ryan who sent the snake.
After trying to wrap her leg, she started to get up as a wave of dizziness hit her forcing her to sit back down.
Rufus Scipio
Rufus practically ran down the hall and out the front doors and Tia still wasn't in sight. Now was the time to stop and think. Where was she going? Forbidden Forest most likely. Fastest way to get there? Past the fountain and over the bridge! Sometimes, Rufus could and would argue with himself to further himself. It was useful to help him figure things out. He rounded the corner and saw a girl sitting by the fountain. Tia.
Rufus held back a laugh. Well, of course snakes are deadly you dolt... A brief memory flashed through his mind of the kid he almost ran into.Hmm, so that was Ryan. Well, I should hurry on with my work before Ryan gets any ideas about riding up on a white horse to save the day. Rufus walked slowly forward towards the fountain, listening intently.
Rufus decided to take a chance. He took a step forward into the light and as he did Tia tried to get up, resulting in her falling right back down. He was within earshot now. "Hey Tia, remember me from the train? It's Rufus, remember?" He walked a little closer but stopped well outside of arms reach. After all he didn't want to scare her. "I just wanted to make sure that you were doing alright."
Rufus looked down and noticed her leg and her poor attempt at trying to bandage it. He quickly moved forward and knelt down to look at it. He knew how she had gotten the wound but, feigning innocence, he asked, "That snake didn't bite you did it?"
He took off her improvised wrap and folded it into a square shape that would cover the entirety of the wound like a pad. He grabbed her hand and pressed it onto the pad and as he did so, he smiled and looked into her eyes.. "Here, push down like this." He took off his white shirt underneith his robes and wrapped it around her leg tight and it, working with the improvised pad, stopped the bleeding. He sat down next to her, with his discarded robes laying on the ground and nothing but his pants and a tank top. "How's that? Better?"

Tia jumped at the sound of a voice. This got her leg started again. When the student said his name, Tia had to giggle as she said, "Yeah, Rufus Scipio right?" Thinking for a minute about what happened in class she said, "You know Tarik is probably going to have a talk with you about insulting a Medjai." She like Tarik because he was an easy teacher to get along with. 'It was just that it seems that he knows more about me than I do.' Tia thought.
"Yeah, I am fine. I also have a boy that needs a talking to" ,Tia told Rufus a little sharper than she had meant to. Calming her temper about Ryan she continued, "So if you will excuse me, I need to find Ryan before Mir and Chris find me."
As she tried to get up another dizzy spell came over her. Looking down at her leg she saw that it was bleeding way to much for her to go anywhere at the moment.
"No, I was given this curse when I was two." , she said with a bit of venom. Finishing under her breath, 'That is another person I want to meet face to face. But not until I remember who he is, by then I think I will be ready.'
She was probably worry him with her icy cold eyes but he had brought up a sore subject. Looking around she knew that Mir and Chris as well as others that knew how to deal with her leg would be coming. She should be working on calming herself but his eyes were in fact relaxing her.
Not knowing what to say she said, "Okay." as she was still a little lit headed.
She must have drifted off as when she next heard him speak her leg was bandaged. She answered him by saying, "A little, thanks Rufus."
Rufus Scipio
It seemed to him that the blood loss was starting to affect her. She seemed real out of it and when she spoke, her voice sounded distant and her eyes had become very muddled. A small, small part of him seemed almost concerned for the girl, yet the majority was seething with satisfaction. Of course he wasn't hoping for her death as that would spoil the mission.
Rufus smiled and put his hand on her shoulder. "You're welcome Tia. Now, you want to tell me what all this is about? I know it's more than just that silly snake. You can trust me."
Rufus found it very humorous that he had just helped to bandage a wound inflicted by his mentor and best friend, David Valentine. And try as he might, he could not escape the irony of the situation. David has been nothing but hell for the girl her whole life and now here he was trying to be nothing but helpful. Ahh, life sure is funny at times.
It really was hot out here and Rufus was silently thankful that he had taken his shirt off. Else, he might come down with the case of heat stroke and all he needed was to be holed up in the Hospital Wing while Tia was fed all sorts of information about him. Thinking back on it, that first year Gryffindor might have had front row seats to the whole show. And while he sat there, waiting for this deluded girl to speak up, she was spilling her guts to the whole class and the Medjai. And then a thought hit him. He suddenly remembered where he'd seen the face before and he smiled.
Tocanema Tia Spellman
Tia thought as she saw Rufus smile and felt his hand on her shoulder, just how much of my past should I tell him. He seemed helpful and that she could really trust him but after what had been happening the last three years of her life, who could she really trust? My friends, that's who. ,Tia smiled as she realize she could finally add one more person to that list, Troy Spellman. It must been harder on him since he remembered who killed his father and all I remember was the shadow in the street." This christmas I am going to talk to Troy and hopefully he will tell me.
Tia really wanted to trust people but not knowing who the watcher was had made that almost impossible. He or she had been able to get messages to her anytime. She had find a stuffed owl covered with fake blood along with her brother Marcus's swiss army knife and a picture of her and Marcus at the Diner in her bag the first year. It was around the same time that her brother's chessboard had come up missing. Her second year was worst as it was the year that she had went missing for two weeks. She still did not remember anything concerning those two weeks. There had been presents and messages left that year too. Now the snake. What did the person want? Tia had no clue except the fact that the person worked for who ever had wiped out her family.
Looking at Rufus, Tia remembered the present that had made it almost impossible to tell him anything. It was the reason she was running this time. The picture with the note on the back. If the watcher sees that Rufus is getting involved.., Tia thought than stopped as she remembered the snake. Her other friends knew the score, Rufus didn't. Tia would not get him involved.
Rufus was nice, but now with the snake incident, Tia thought back to her first year and the note on back of a picture that she had found in her bag. The note had told her not to get her friends involved and she had tried to protect them. They had given her a major talking to about disappearing. Now Telk was at Mungo's and this snake in Runes Class. Tia knew that she had to realize that who ever was after her was now making good on his promise: If you value your friends, don't get them involved! The Allies had gotten involved and now he was showing her how easily they could be taken out of his way.
She wasn't going to see them get hurt because of her and that meant Rufus too. Her brother Marcus' words came back to her, We don't let others take our fall. And she wasn't about to let anybody take hers.
Looking at Rufus she decided to warn him and said, "Let's just say I'm not safe to hang around."
She liked Rufus and remembering that her first impression of her friend Chris she thought, 'If he decides to be like the rest of my friends and this doesn't scare him away, then I just might start believing I can tell him?' Tia hoped her instinct were right about Rufus because Mir was sure that they were wrong about Tarik. Sorry Mir, I can't fully trust your uncle until he's straight with me and tells me who gave him all the information he has on me.,Tia thought as she was pretty sure that Tarik was still hiding something.
She looked at her leg and it had finally stopped, though she was still dizzy.
Rufus Scipio
Rufus could tell when someone was thinking hard. And Tia? She was thinking very hard indeed. It was almost as if Rufus could hear the gears cranking in her brain. What was it that she was thinking so hard about? It couldn't be only about whether or not to tell him everything or whether she should trust him. There was more behind that thoughtful face. As Rufus himself started to think on it, his mind wandered back to the previous years and all the things he had done to this girl.
Those were fun times. The thrill of the chase and the work involved to achieve his end result put a smile on his face. He thought back to stuffed owl and that swiss army knife, plus the picture. Then there was the chess board that sat on a bookcase at home next to his bed. And there was much much more to come. Rufus beamed inside.
He didn't want to look over his shoulder, but surely a search party would have been mounted by now and that meant that there was very limited time left until they were found and how fishy would that be? Upon closer thought, Rufus may have been seen. He had forgotten all about that girl from Gryffindor off in the corner and if he didn't react to the next few days with ease and flawless precision then his gig was up.
Rufus gave her a look that read, 'Are you serious?' "Well let's just say that I don't do safe. The world's not safe so why should I run from danger. I'm gonna have to get used to it I suppose. And like it or not, Tia, you're gonna have to learn and fight to. Sooner or later, there won't be anywhere left to run."
He gave her a smilel, "Besides, by the look of that leg there. Running could be just as dangerous. So, the question remains thus. What's happening and how can I help? I'll kick anyone's arse for you."

Tia saw Rufus response to what she had said and smiled thinking, He thinks I am joking.
Tia really wanted to believe that he could handle what she and her friends were facing. Rufus was so much like Marcus. My brother, Marcus wasn’t scared of anything.,Tia thought as she realized that was her fear.Rufus and my friends don’t seem to realize that like Marcus they could all be just as dead. I already have too many deaths on my hands including my own brother’s. I won’t have theirs.,Tia thought fearful for her friends’ safety. We are not ready to take on a killer but his messenger,Tia began thinking of the little present she had for him as she looked towards the Forbidden Forest and the Centuar.
Tia had to giggle when Rufus said, And like it or not, Tia, you're gonna have to learn and fight to. Sooner or later, there won't be anywhere left to run." Then she stopped and stared at him thinking, I have every intention of fighting but on my terms not the messenger’s. Thinking back to what Professor Wise had said her first year about non-verbal spells, Tia put her hand in her pocket and held her wand in such a way as it’s tip was pointed at a rock nearby, thinking, I’ll show him how much of a scaredy cat I am. Focusing her mind on the rock, she thought, Wingardium Leviosa Tia knew when her temper got the better of her things started to happen. It wasn’t until she had found out about non-verbal spell casting that she understood why.
Tia knew there was a couple of spells she planned on learning so well that they would be able to become non-verbal to her, especially the curse that was done on me. Tia planned on paying her tormentor back in spades for the death of her family and the present for his messenger was just the first step.
Tia noticed that Rufus wasn’t backing away at her temper. Looking down at her leg, she had to agree with him that running out of the classroom had been a stupid move on her part. His last two statements had not only gotten her to laugh but had calmed her down. The boy had a crush all right. Rufus acted so much like her older brother that she decided to take a chance but not here where everybody who walked by could hear. Looking over at the bridge she thought she saw an Auror that her godfather Seth knew thinking a little out loud, “Oh no, what’s he doing here?”
Turning to Rufus she said, “Alright Rufus, you want to know what is happening; I’ll tell you.” Looking at the man walk by she realized that her friends would probably look for her at the three places she usually ran to ”I don’t want a lecture right now, so Forest, Gardens and Lake are out of the question. So where?
Looking at Rufus Tia said a little nervous but smiling, “Do you know anyplace that we won’t have company?”
Rufus Scipio
Rufus followed her line of sight and noticed an Auror walking dangerously close. Maybe he heard the rock, but it wasn't looking good. Rufus was trained never to get nervous so instead he was relishing in danger. He loved it and he thrived in it. He worked well under pressure and he needed to in times like this. He pretended not to hear Tia though, he didn't want to sound too nosy.
Rufus smiled and said, "Well I'm a fan of the library. There are sections of that place that no one ever goes to and with everyone still in class it should be nearly empty. We shouldn't run into anyone there. How's that sound?"
Tocanema Tia Spellman
As Rufus gave her a flashy smile, Tia thought as she saw the spells he could do, Show off. Then Tia had to realize that she too was trying to impress him. She did not like that he was able to do second year spells non-verbal already. The only non-verbal second year spell Tia had been able to do was finite. It was also the first second year spell she had learned. It was that spell and the fact that she had learned it her first year that had Professor Wise believing that spell-casting was going to be Tia’s speciality. Tia had decided to take the Professor’s advice and not rush the non-verbal. I just started this summer with practicing my first year spells non-verbal. Now I find out that another third year has probably master his second year spells.,Tia thought as her temper was getting the better of her. I am just going to have to start practicing all my spells more.
The library., thought Tia as she gave Rufus a warm smile. Realizing he was waiting for her answer she said warmly, “That sounds great.” Looking at the Grounds as she was getting up, she said as she saw the group coming their way, “But I think it might have to wait for another time?” With that Tia pointed to the group that was coming from the Grounds and from the way they were coming, Tia thought,Oh no, lecture time.

She had been two at the time. She had been playing door knock, hide and until Troy found. Tia finally remembered Troy and knew why he was so protective. That night she had been hiding when she had heard her mother scream. Tia had silently cried in the closet until James had found her. That was where the memories got fuzzy. But Tia did know two things. One was that there had been two attacks that night. Though she never see either face clearly and two was that Troy just maybe had. It was only a matter of time before she got Troy who now she remembered was like a brother to her to tell her who killed her mother and his father.

He sat down next to her, with his discarded robes laying on the ground and nothing but his pants and a tank top. "How's that? Better?"
She must have drifted off as when she next heard him speak her leg was bandaged. She answered him by saying, "A little, thanks Rufus."

She must have drifted off as when she next heard him speak her leg was bandaged. She answered him by saying, "A little, thanks Rufus."

The Allies had seen her through it all and now thinking of one of her best friends, Emilie G., I just put her in a very bad position. Emilie was a Prefect. She just can't be the one to find me. Tia wanted to kick herself for putting Em on the spot. At least Emilie like her other friends knew that Tia was driven by what haunted her. Let's just hope Emilie had not been assigned morning patrol.

Looking at Rufus she decided to warn him and said, "Let's just say I'm not safe to hang around."
If you really want to help, then you'd come clean with her. Apologize and throw yourself onto her mercy. Confess and then you can truly be her savior. Rufus's face remained calm as he argued back. Listen here, you dolt. I want you to shut up and get BACK in your hole. The other voice quieted down a bit, but Rufus could still hear it's murmuring complaints.

He gave her a smilel, "Besides, by the look of that leg there. Running could be just as dangerous. So, the question remains thus. What's happening and how can I help? I'll kick anyone's arse for you."

Rufus almost broke out in laughter as the rock started levitating. Really? She's trying to prove her worth to me by lifting a rock? I'll shopw her the real deal. Rufus's wand, still in his sleeve twitched while he thought,Bombarda, and the rock still in flight exploded into tiny pieces. Almost simultaneously, he cast another unspoken spell, Protega, and chips of rock bounced off the invisible shield keeping them safe and sound. He gave her a flashy smile.

Maybe I should even ask Tarik for some extra lesson, since he is non-verbal or even Professor Wise?, Tia wondered as she looked up at the school.
Rufus smiled and said, "Well I'm a fan of the library. There are sections of that place that no one ever goes to and with everyone still in class it should be nearly empty. We shouldn't run into anyone there. How's that sound?"
