Full name: Mikhail Brudo Iiyen
Age: 46
Blood: Pure
Job: Member of the Seven
Wand: 15 inches, Ebony, Phoenix feather core
Physical description: A man in excellent physical shape. While he is balding, the hair that is left is short and brown in color. He lost his right eye in a duel, and wears an eye patch instead of relying on a magical eye, which he finds uncomfortable. He is tall, standing at 6'5". With his height, muscles, and affiliation with Daniel Marsden, he appears quite formidable.
Personality: A cold man. Mikhail doesn't back down from anyone (except his master). He will not hesitate to torture people if he needs information from them, or Sir Marsden orders him to for enjoyment. He gets straight to the point when working. There are very few people that he calls "friend," and he has little patience for those he doesn't. Even though most new recruits are tough and the best of the best (a requirement of the Seven), he is one of the more frightening upper-enforcers. He will not hesitate to punish those that fail him.
Like: Lots of gold; firewhisky; a good game of Exploding Snap; the pleas from his victims; the Seven and its leader; the Number, and the work he and his colleagues do for it.
Dislikes: Children; singing; overly happy people; most kinds of music; jokes about his missing eye.
History/Family:
Mikhail Iiyen grew up in northern Russia. His mother and father were both pure-bloods, though they never wanted a son. When his mother gave birth to him, she left Mikhail with her Squib brother and ran away somewhere with her husband. To this day, Mikhail doesn't know his parents nor does he know where they are. Not that he wishes to know them; he feels that they must be horrible people if they left their newborn son with a family member and then disappeared as soon as everyone looked away. To this day, he's not sure what he would do is he met them, and he thinks it's probably in their best interest to stay away from him if they want to remain safe. Daniel Marsden personally promised Mikhail "time off" if the latter found where his parents lived.
Growing up was difficult for Mikhail. As any young wizard, he couldn't control his powers before he went to school. Since his uncle was a Squib, he didn't know how to help him either. Often there would be times when Mikhail would get angry, and his room window would shatter. He always felt sorry for his uncle's inability to perform magic, and was hoping he would be able to help him someday. The man had taken him in when no one else would, and though he rarely expressed his gratitude for such a sacrifice, it indeed did exist.
When it came time for him to go to school, his uncle enrolled him in Durmstrang Institute, knowing about the school because it was the one his sister had went to. Mikhail did well during his school years, making above average at pretty much anything he tried to do there. He made friends with a rough group of teenagers there, and made it a point to practice dark magic on anyone that happened to annoy the group. He got in quite a bit of trouble a few times, but Durmstrang never expelled him nor informed his uncle of his bad behavior. Mikhail was delighted to no end about his school living up to the rumors people spread about it. He found out that most of the time, the Dark Arts were indeed overlooked at Durmstrang.
After graduation, he put on a front, working as a Muggle assassin. Because of his skill in sorcery, he became well known throughout the Muggle crime world and made a nice living for himself. His talent in magic and the Dark Arts made him outperform all Muggle assassins, though no one knew of his true method of killing those he was hired to kill. With everything he had at his disposal, all of it was rather easy.
In the early nineties, he gave up his front and went to work for the Seven, the people he believed had a cause worth fighting for. However, he didn't think that way at first; he was recruited like any other of their members. He was doubtful, but they saw talent in him, so Daniel Marsden invited him to have a personal meeting with him. Marsden was welcoming and very convincing, and all of Mikhail's doubts vanished. He's honored to work for Daniel Marsden, calling him a "brilliant man" to anyone who asks him who he works for.
He doesn't have a specific job, with one exception; he is sent wherever Marsden needs someone powerful, whatever the location and task is. One job this is his (and only his) is Marsden's representative to a special worldwide project the Seven has in the works.
